Chops Lobster Bar Review - Buckhead - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"The renovated two-level Buckhead institution successfully rose from the ashes (of a kitchen fire that shuttered it for much of ’22) to reclaim its spot at the city’s crowded formal-dining table. Inside the ground-level lobster bar, you’ll find dark mahogany and shiny cooper on the walls and a healthy mix of friends and fawning couples in the seats. Waiters, working in harmonious pairs, smartly explain how a peach puree cocktail complements the pan-roasted chicken or bone-in tomahawk. The latter entrée comes already sliced in manageable bites that somehow make the meal look less gluttonous but taste no less glorious. Super moist and exceptionally seasoned, the ribeye exemplifies everything that’s made Chops a smoldering night-out address for decades." - DeMarco Williams

This was the best service we have ever had. Me and my Boyfriend decided to celebrate our anniversary here. It was our first time and The service was amazing. I cannot exaggerate from our server to another server to the chef to the manager they all ensured that we were taken care of and enjoyed our meal. OUR SERVER BRANDON !!!!! He was a phenomenal server all around. He was very patient, informative, and gave us many recommendations and passionately described the items on the menu. I work in foodservice so experiencing a server who is passionate about what he does was very rare to me. WHEN you go you must request Brandon he was an amazing server ! Now the food !!!! I cannot exaggerate enough this was the best steak we have ever had the A5 Wagyu was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The Chefs hands are anointed by God himself. I recommend the steak medium however the SIGNATURE LOBSTER, give me 14 of em it was exquisite. The drinks were amazing not over bearing at all. To top it off they gave us 2 desserts on the house for our anniversary. They genuinely care about your experience. Truly God bless the people at this location they were all so very sweet from the host to the busser. Overall 100000000/10. Broke my scale.

It wasn't my kind of place. I'm not big on red meat. I'm sure a big meat eater would love this place. Then again, it was a free meal for me. We had a special menu. I had the lobster, which was good.

Mia was an excellent server and made our experience celebrating my boyfriend’s 30th birthday fantastic! I will be back and I hope to see her again! <3

Chops was phenomenal! My brother is somewhat of a regular. This was our 18th year anniversary, and Lucas our server was awesome! Very professional and new the menu in and out! I'd recommend Chops over and over! Thank you for such great service.

My Wife and I and a couple of friends visited the chops lobster bar and had a nice time together. The Drinks were nice. The Food Was Delicious!! We had the Triple Cut Porterhouse Lamb Chops, Chilean Sea Bass Hong Kong,Creamy Curly Mac & Smoked Gouda,Steamed Jumbo Asparagus, Dry-Aged Porterhouse Experience and for a end of the night desert we had a piece of Banana cream pie. Ambiance was Amazing!! The service was Not good at all. The waiter came and introduced herself and said what the specials was and did not come back until 30 minutes later for the drink orders that we did not get until about 20 minutes later then took our starter order then we got our food from the servers maybe 30 minutes from the kitchen but we did not see our waitress till maybe an hour later and we had to flag her down for desert that we got fairly quick and we ask for the bill and left. The valet service was quick and free just have to tip. All in all nice restaurant. But its a one and done.

We had our rehearsal dinner here in one of the private rooms that could fit all 26 of us (including 5 small children). The service and atmosphere were perfect, especially the in room bartenders. We were even able to play a slideshow that some of our family members created. The food was spectacular, I had the lobster stuffed with crab and I still think about it :) Thanks to Kyle for helping plan and set up this unforgettable event.

Came to celebrate my friends birthday and we had an amazing experience, our server took good care of us, answered all our questions, help us with the menu. Food came in a timely manner and it was fantastic! Would definitely recommend it!

Google
The food was delicious. The Surf &Turf was Sizable and full of flavor. The seafood tower and Stone crabs were top notch, and the beluga caviar was, well out of this world. I expected the service to be a little better, but it was fine and everything is about expectations so mine may have been a little too high. I would definitely go back.

Yelp
We were taken to our table when we walked in. We did have a reservation. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with comfortable tables spaced nicely. No table is too close to another. Waiter came to take our drink orders and brought a basket of delicious bread and rolls. We were able to take advantage of their $30 per couple coupon. The prices are high but the coupon really makes it affordable for a top notch, classy restaurant. The food was best I've had since moving to S Florida 5 years ago. Service was impeccable. Owner or manager came to our table to see to it that everything was going right. Steak, salmon, lobster tails and scallops were all delicious and beautifully served. Lobster bisque and salads were fabulous. Two of us took advantage of their 2 course prix fix dinner for $57. There were many choices. We can't wait to go back! Note: coupon not valid on Saturday and is only for dinner.

Yelp
Chops is my local 'when I feel like a fine dining experience, good food, and close to home' place to go. I haven't always been satisfied, but this time, totally. We kept out simple. Choosing the two part menu @$58, I chose the crab and shrimp cocktail to start. Succulent shrimp, amazing lump crab, a little shy on the Horseradish, but it was easily cured. Service, BTW, was outstanding. That's where Chops almost always shines. For our main course, I chose the scallops, perfectly seared and served on mashed potatoes with capers and tomatoes. The capers added a unique level of flavor I hadn't expected. Quite delicious! My partner had the Farro salmon, served eloquently on a bed of greens in a delicate sauce. We added the garlic broccolini and the corn mash, winning accompaniments to the mains. We wound up making friends with the people at the next table, putting a wonderful end to a great meal.

Yelp
The restaurant itself was ill-prepared for evening crowd outdoors. Space-heaters were either not working to full capacity or they were having to change out gas tanks during meals. We noticed immediately that no one on the staff was smiling at all. After we ordered our drinks, it took over 1/2 to get them and one of them was in a noticeably dirty glass with remnants of lemon on the rim. This was a coffee drink. It took 15 more minutes to get another one. That came about the same time as our bread that we were told they were going to bring in the very beginning. The butter served with it was not fresh and had a bit of a sour taste. We gave up on flagging our waiter to get it replaced and just ate the bread dry. I should also point out that during all this, there was almost no attention to our empty glasses of water that needed refilling. The appetizer finally came and it was fine. My wife even made a comment that maybe not all is lost. But no such luck. After a wait, a bit longer than it should have been, they finally brought our food out. The main courses were not up to expectation and did not live up to a taste one would expect at a dining establishment of this stature. The side dish of mashed potatoes was even more disappointing as it was already covered with slight crust from having sat out for a while. As come to find out it seems that neither fish course we had may have been fresh enough to serve as my wife and I, both have been up all night and a better part of the morning nauseous and having to make frequent visits to the toilet, with upset stomachs. We are very disappointed in the service, the food, and the overall experience. Maybe they should review their management practices as happy employees would not ever let anything like this happen on all levels. The staff was noticeably not happy and it showed in the restaurant's performance. I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND visits this location and do not expect to go back.

Yelp
The food is very mid. Can use a little more flavor., the price point was pretty good. The waiter was very nice and attentive. Atmosphere is nice for date night very elegant restaurant.

Yelp
It's appropriate to post an updated review to my earlier one which pointed out various concerns. This one will focus on the outstanding service provided by MIA and the incredibly well prepared meal - score to the chefs! Our dinner earlier this month was one of Chop's $69 three course specials. Not smaller sized portions. Just fewer choices but all prepared exceedingly well. Starting with chopped salad and a Caesar salad, we were each impressed. The croutons and anchovies on the Caesar salad and its dressing were outstanding. My husband had the salmon Oskar, delicious. Light. Fluffy. Tasty. And the crab meat placed on top was freshly cooked. And he enjoyed each piece. I had the Chilean Sea Bass Hong Kong style. The broth was tasty. And the sea bass was light. I could have eaten two servings. My eye caught the asparagus on the menu and I ordered it even though MIA advised me it was $13 a portion. The Hollandaise sauce was not heavy. It played a song on my tongue. Just delish. Of course I forgot to mention that we started with extra dry martinis at $15.75. Shaken to perfection. Chilled with ice slivers as requested. And the martini glass was full. Not 2/3 full. We did not stuff ourselves with the delicious desserts that we took home. We waited until the next day to treat ourselves. The key lime pie was on point. And the New York style cheesecake with fresh strawberries was like velvet in our tongues. Too many expletives here? Think I'm exaggerating? Nope. I'm not that type. And allow me to return to MIA as I end this review. She was informative. Intelligent. Not intrusive but clearly spoiled us with her attentive demeanor . If every server at Chops were like her the Resturant would be overfilled every night. And while it gets busy in season, it's not crazy crazy. Make reservations, though. We will be back. As long as MIA is working rhat night. (Oh the manager stopped at our table to ask if all was going well)

Yelp
At the last minute a friend of mine suggested we go out for dinner last night ( Friday). He chose Chops in Boca. I haven't dined there in a long time, as I felt from becoming one of my favorite restaurants in town it had slipped and in my opinion was just OK. There is valet parking which was very busy yet very efficient. Our reservation was honored immediately, and we were seated within minutes. . Chops is still a great looking restaurant. We ordered drinks, received them right away, ordered dinner which again was on our table in just the right amount of time and we felt good about our selection restaurants. Chops caters to an upscale crowd who like good dining. Last night in my opinion they rose from ashes ( 5 years ago) to a really good restaurant. Chopped salad, NY Strip steak, spinach and potatoes as our sides, and a really nice evening was had, which delights me. It's a busy place with a great vibe. Bravo Chops!

Yelp
From the moment we arrived to the time we left, nothing disappointed. Great service from Becky, pleasant, dedicated, friendly, just the right pace. Started off with Caesar salad which was surprisingly delicious. Fine chopped lettuce, many tiny croutons, fresh Parmesan cheese with the right balance of dressing. It's really the details that made it much better than most Caesars. This is the place for a great ribeye. It's not wagyu but that wasn't the price point we were going for. At $79 for the regular ribeye and $115 for the Australian was typical for a h end experience. They were cooked to the perfect medium. Finished it off with a delicious creme brulee with fresh berries that did not disappoint. Probably one of the best I've had as well. Rarely do I ever give 5 stars but they really delivered a fantastic experience. I would have liked to seen a snake river ribeye or similar with a BMS near 10 or 11, to fit in between the prime and A5 wagyu. The Australian was very good but a 10 or 11 BMS would have taken it over the top. Not a complaint, only a suggestion. I debated between Ruth's Chris and here as they both had a table available. I'm glad I chose Chops!

Yelp
Went on New Year's Eve eve.... Packed but the service did not suffer .... Amazing staff ...food of course was amazing .... Rib eye steak and filet mignon.... Beautiful Christmas decor !

Yelp
BEWARE: This restaurant has signs on all their tables (see attached photo) that asks you to pay by using the QR code &, when we did, there was a $5 service fee. When we spoke to the manager about it he said he would take it off & he was aware of the service fee from another customer. We just checked our credit card today (2 days later) & the $5 was not refunded. Why is there a service fee to pay by cc? That should be illegal!!!

Yelp
The food is very good, we had the escargot, the beef tartar, lobster from Nova Scotia, filet mignon w/ truffle butter, a couple of sides and creme brûlée for dessert. Everything was very good, albeit pricey but every restaurant is expensive these days. Service was 5/5 and the actual restaurant is very classy and clean. Would definitely recommend coming here, just don't be shocked by the prices.

Yelp
Can't beat an established staple of Boca Raton. Two and three courses specials can't be better but of course it's the food that really counts and Chops never disappoints. Well done Chops !!

Yelp
I must say I haven't been to this restaurant in a very long time. I've been doing all the other new steakhouses so this Saturday night we decided to give it a try. I was very happy that we did. I had a tuna which was made just the way I liked it. We also had that chop salad, which was delicious. We had the crabcakes which I must say since I'm from Marilyn that they were good very good. We had some kind of cream corn that was very interesting and Unique complementary bread and butter was delivered to the table Waitress Mary I must say she was a very good server. She was professional. She was informative and she was very helpful. Valet parking is a plus the only thing I made me a little negative was it was a birthday. They said happy birthday and they didn't bring any complementary birthdaycookie or anything which I thought was interesting because all the other steak restaurants do!!! I will return sooner than I waited this long for they do have a summer special. I just noticed it check that out.

Yelp
Excellent food choices on the Happy Hour menu weekdays from 5-7. Live music and crowded bar area with 5 bartenders. Our bartender TANYA served our drinks and then asked us to leave one seat because it was reserved. JACELYN took over and brought fresh drinks and 2 great appetizers. We are locals and frequent this restaurant often, so we were surprised that we were treated so badly. Embarrassed for management since summer business is slow. JACELYN WAS EXCELLENT AND PROFESSIONAL AND DESERVES A RAISE AND A PROMOTION. A"MUST TRY" SUPPORT LOCAL

Yelp
We had an absolutely awful meal at Chops yesterday. We were sat outside on the patio at 7:30pm, which was nice, and things went downhill fast from there. We ordered martinis when we were greeted by our waitress, and once they were delivered we felt we were already being rushed. I sent the waitress away so that we could at least have a sip of our cocktails before being forced to order. She promptly returned. We ordered the tuna tartare and a Caesar salad to start, and both ordered the NY Strip, rare, as a main course. The appetizers came almost instantly. Red flag. The tuna was covered in avocado paste and tasted fishy, the salad had clearly also been previously prepared and had been sitting in a refrigerator. Soggy and tasteless. Here's where the fun really started- we were not even half way through our disappointing apps when the steaks arrived! I commented about how quickly they came out and the response was "yeah, they're fast tonight". Ok? We both cut into our steaks and they were cooked medium. Mind you we ordered rare, and both worked in food service for a number of years and never send back food. This was bad, so when the waitress came back over to see how everything came out, we showed her the steaks and she promptly apologized and said they'd replace them. When the replacements arrived, they were raw, not rare but uncooked. At this point, we were done and had lost our appetite. $300 later, we left hungry and extremely disappointed. For a steakhouse to get temperature wrong, not once but twice, is inexcusable. I've had better meat at Outback. Our waitress was nice, not her fault, but Chops was terrible start to finish. I will never return.

Yelp
Just moved to the south FL area, Chops was highly recommended on the internet and we had to see for ourselves. It was by far a 10/10 experience. The environment was so comforting and welcoming. We were greeted by my last name, sat at a perfect table, and had the best waitress, Mia. She gave great recommendations for the food, the lobster bisque was fantastic and so was the salmon. Highly highly highly recommend!!

Yelp
Fun spot. Went after dinner and sat at the bar for a glass of wine and crème brûlée. Listening to the live music is always a treat... and dancing. Who doesn't want to dance? Bartenders were great.

Yelp
We love Chops. The service is the very best and the food is incredible. They have a fantastic happy hour menu in their handsome bar. Definitely check it out.

Paul F.

Yelp
First of all, the restaurant is very nice. We'll designed and comfortable. We went for happy hour and sat at the bar. The Crabcake is WORLD CLASS and easily the best we have ever had. It is on the happy hour menu and is as large as my fist has very good quality lump Crab meat. It is worth going just for the crabcake. However be careful if you order any meat. Medium rare to the cooks is RAW and COLD on the inside, not pink. If you don't want raw meat, order it Medium Well. Service is ok and could be more attentive. Go for the crabcake!!

Yelp
Located in Boca Raton, this upscale restaurant is great for celebrating a special occasion. We each enjoyed three course meals which had better value than ordering a la carte. We selected the Half Crab and Half Shrimp Appetizer which was great. I had Surf and Turf and my husband chose Tuna. For dessert I had a Chocolate Toffee Cake and my husband got a huge piece of cheesecake. We will return again to try other menu items, All in all it was an enjoyable evening.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
All I can say is wow. Went for a special occasion with my wife and man were we pleased with the experience. I could honestly write a 3 page review about all the things we loved - from the high end vibes to the service to the atmosphere and of course the food. Instead of being that verbose O will try to succinctly sun up the experience: The decor is stunning. Especially in the dining room with a rounded tile ceiling. A bar area with live music is also available. The service was fantastic and we loved our waitress Mia. She was super attentive, funny, and guided us throughout the evening from our menu choices to our celebration of the special occasion. The food was top notch and pics don't do it justice. I enjoy an app of lightly fried lobster tail - holy moly. My wife love her escargot. For dinner we bought enjoyed bone-in prime grade steaks cooked medium rare. We opted to have the filet and the by strip both served on hot plates so they would continue to cook just a bit after served. We also added the truffle steak butter for our steaks (on the side). The char was fantastic and you can request your char preference from very little all the way to Pittsburgh char. Sides were amazing including Yukon mashed, mushrooms as well as onion rings Desert was very good as well. A truly great evening! Reservations are a must as it's a very popular place in downtown Boca. Parking was valet..
google avatar

Ron A.

Yelp
What you would expect in an upscale restaurant regarding ambience, service, and food. No photos, but the Black Diamond Bone-in Ribeye may have been the best steak I've eaten. It was cooked perfectly medium rare with a charred finish...just the right amount of melt in your mouth fatty goodness...unctuous makes most people happy.
google avatar

Mark O.

Yelp
Ok...so if you read any of my reviews...and btw...I can't believe anyone does! Anyway...I am a bit of a sucker for consistency. Chops is along the lines of a chain. Albeit a high-end chain. Anyway...it's amazing. Ask for Brian he is highly informative and very aware of what to order. Go for the order that is recommended by Brian or your server of the night. Enjoy.

Stacy W.

Yelp
The Music is so Ridiculously Loud that you can't enjoy your dinner. We have been going to Chops for over 10 years and it's always been a favorite of ours, we love to sit in the large bar area and love the servers there. But now they have hired musicians who think they are in a night club instead of a fine dining restaurant.

Phil L.

Yelp
First time here at the Boca Raton location. The food was excellent from start to finish. My wife had the complete dinner option. Had the lobster bisque, salmon and cheesecake. The bisque was outstanding and served with chunks of lobster. Salmon with a crab and hollandaise sauce. The cheesecake a large piece with strawberries. I had the wedge salad, 16oz boneless strip steak and a1# baked potato! All cooked perfectly. Our server was Becky. She did a great job and we enjoyed the conversation. In fact so much that we requested her when making another reservation. Not to be missed in Boca!

Yelp
We had dinner at Chops last weekend. Chops is one of our favorite restaurants in the area however, the previous experience felt rushed and the food was not up to their usual standard. We were optimistic about returning and Chops came out swinging! The quality and state of the food was incredible! The octopus was the most tender that we've ever enjoyed. Both of our steaks were cooked to perfection. (Something that is rare in this area.) And lastly, our server Gary was such a delight. He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Gary was always smiling and very personable without feeling like he was trying too hard. Hands down the best service experience we're ever had at Chops in the 9 years we have been dining there. We'll be sure to ask for Gary on our visits moving forward.

Jeen F.

Yelp
Beautiful location and interiors The food is absolutely mediocre The only good thing were the bread rolls Octopus supposed to be grilled but was sort of just steamed and soggy floating in olive oil and mushy watery liquid Tuna tartare tasted rancid and had some white weird goo holding it together Yikes

Yelp
Out for my birthday tonight. Food is amazing. Ambience is great. We will definitely return in the near future. If you have not yet visited chops lobster bar, you're missing a real treat.

Dave L.

Yelp
Stopped in for a drink at the bar. When it was time to pay I was told they don't accept cash. Will not return to a place that doesn't accept our country's legal currency.

Robby B.

Yelp
So disappointed. Long wait for two porterhouses only to have to send back because they were rare. Got back fatty tough steaks. Received a cold coffee at the end of the meal. Very overrated ! No bargain!
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
My old review was a solid no. But wow!!! From the atmosphere, the bar, the live music the food! Once again back on my favorites list! Stone crab, crab cake and filet all were the best I've had in a long time. Looks like these guys are back on track after Covid!

Yelp
The food was good, nothing to write home about. The service started off great and made a turn for the worst. What absolutely ruined and eventually made this experience horrible was the management. So dinner started off with my wife and I sharing a salad with warm nuts and mushrooms, very good and the best thing we had all night . We had the ribeye for dinner, which was just ok and a bit salty, I can make a much better one at home. The dessert menu came around and I saw the James Beard award winning banana cream pie. Whatever we were served was absolutely horrible. It was whipped cream ms bananas with white chocolate shaved over it, that's it, no flavor at all. We ended up sending the dessert back and the waitress said she would take it off our bill since we didn't like it and barely touched it. We weren't thrilled with the food but didn't say anything because we were with a group. We paid the bill and headed over to the valet. As we are waiting for our car with the group our waitress runs over to our entire group and tells us that the manager sent her over to collect the $12 balance that was still on the bill, this was the dessert that she was supposed to remove. Enough about the absolute embarrassment, now we had to explain to her several times what the balance was. Our bill was over $180 and the tables bill was way over $400 , management sent her after us for the $12 dessert that was supposed to have already been removed but wasn't . The entire group was mortified and upset. When I got home I immediately called the manager to let him know why we were chased down and embarrassed and what could be done to resolve this issue. He blamed the waitresses and claimed a manager didn't send her, I seriously doubt that was true. He also claimed that was the first time he had heard of this situation, I told him this has never happened to me before. He said he would see what he could do, took my name and number, and stated that he will call me back. It has been several days and still nothing but crickets. This is one of the worst experiences I had ever had. I go out to new places all the time and have seen some crazy stuff, this is definitely up there.

Yelp
We went here - 4 of us. We had a reservation for 9:30 outside- we weren't seated till 10:00 pm. We had a nice table. We ordered drinks- loved my moscow mule! However, my friend ordered a martini very very cold and he had to send it back. And then we all had caesar salads which were delicious with anchovies. I ordered grouper which was delicious and there were also a steak and a veal chop ordered. Sadly the steak was as raw as could be and had to be sent back as well. I think for a very nice place they could have done a little better with the food and the service. I loved sitting outside so that was nice. It had been raining and fortunately they have covering. The inside has a beautiful feeling - dark wood. sand ai love all the pictures that line the hallway near the ladies room! It might be awhile before I return as I was not totally happy.

Mitchell M.

Yelp
Despite its many issues Chops ranks amongst our favorite steakhouses in South Florida. Sure they lost some great servers, a classy old school Maitre D' in Monroe, and an excellent lady manager that was replaced by Mo who runs around pretending to be busy asks you a quick question and before you answer it has already left (amongst many other issues with him) but nevertheless if you discount their multiple run-ins with State Health Inspectors which resulted in more than one closure (check on Boca News Now) their food remains very good. Pre-Covid their menu was much more expansive but they have since paired it back. And aside of a good steak, there are several other items to make a great and classy high end steakhouse. One is service and then - a variety of appetizers (and well beyond those from the sea), portion size - yes when you go to a steakhouse you expect big portions, many varieties of side dishes, a big wine menu including quality choices by the glass, and great desserts. So let's review each here: Service can be good here and it can also be mediocre. Our last time it was very good - particularly when I commented to the server that their appetizers are only from the sea or a limited amount of salads. She quickly went into sales mode and said what else would you like? and when I said humm maybe burrata and tomato's she immediately said let me see if I can do that for you (and she did). By the way the burrata with arrugula was excellent! Now for the steaks: I love their bone in filet mignon which is a paltry 12 ounces. I've had some very tiny cuts here but unlike some other steak houses that give you several ounces of bone at least here on my last experience you get a tiny bone with more meat. As usual this was excellent. Their sides - our family loves sides and Chops has historically had a lot of variety - kudos to them. However since Covid they have removed some including their foot long carrot as an example. And if I recall they also eliminated some potato preparations - which for us - we order many different types so a little disappointing. On another note after Covid they removed their larger size serving so they have one serving size - enough for a baby. Their desserts remain great. But one disappointment is their weak selection of wines by the glass - they need to ditch what they offer and do better homework on similar priced but better wines! All in all there is much room for improvement and they will be facing some heat when Gallagher's and Meat Market open so hopefully they up their game but they do have the lock on an East Boca Raton location.

Olga R.

Yelp
Absolutely my favorite Steakhouse in Boca! The fried lobster tail appetizer with its crispy crust and melt in your mouth lobster was outstanding. We ordered the spinach salad which was prepared table side and it did not disappoint. Their grilled octopus was so tender and delicious. My entree was one of the specials of the night, seared scallops on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes. My fiancé had the pepper steak and it was perfection. If you are in south Florida make your way to Chops!

Yelp
I came here for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! We started with the lobster bisque which was delicious, but very rich. I'd recommend splitting it because it was so filling. I got the filet mignon and it was one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. I didn't even need a steak knife because it cut like butter. It was the most melt in your mouth piece of meat and perfectly seasoned with a nice char on the outside. I also got the truffle butter to put on top which was also delicious. We got a couple of sides to share for the table, they were all good. For my birthday I got a complimentary dessert which was a really nice treat!! I got the chocolate molten cake and wow it was to die for! The service was also incredible.. never let my water glass go empty and they constantly came around to check on us. One of our steaks actually came out a little overdone and they immediately brought out a new one, perfectly cooked. The ambiance is very nice and quiet. They had some nice live music playing, which was a really nice touch. 10/10!!!

Yelp
We celebrated our 57th wedding anniversary on 9/4/24 at Chops. I chose Chops because we have been there before and that's the place for a special occasion. I called in advance and spoke with a friend we made on our last visit (Moe Ahmed) who actually remembered us because we used to eat at Pano & Pauls in Atlanta and wanted to see if they could make a Mississippi Mud Pie. Moe went out of his way and was able to get his Chief to make a Southern version of this dessert. Needless to say we had a great evening our server (Mia) could not do enough for us which made the evening most enjoyable. My only suggestion that I'd like to make was to have the Valet attendant closer to the entrance of the restaurant. My wife uses a walker and the Valet was quite a distance from the entrance. When we left the restaurant the receptionists was very kind and took our ticket down to the Valet and they brought the car up to the front door. Great evening and many thanks to Moe, Mia, and the staff of Chops. By the way the French Fried Lobster is Great.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing. We started with the char grilled octopus, the ahi tuna tartare, and the African lobster tail. All were very good but the lobster tail was very unique and would definitely go back just for that dish. My Salmon in Thai lobster sauce was also a highlight of the meal, as was the cream less corn mash and the lychee martini. Old fashioned was fine but not as special as well the truffle fries.

Yelp
I'll start off by saying the atmosphere was great, it has a very lively yet classy old school new York dining establishment vibe. The service was also very good. The reason why Chops gets a two from me is the questionable quality of the food being served. The steaks our party received were low quality cuts of meat. Both filets had giant veins running through it leaving about 1/3rd of it inedible, the ribeye was extremely thin which is not what I expected to get paying $70+ for a bone in ribeye, and the textures of the meats simply gave the impression that they were of low quality, not prime cuts... Chops Certainly needs to hire a better meat purveyor. Now the reason why I'm up writing this review at 3 am is I seem to have gotten a case of food poisoning from the meal. We did order a few seafood appetizers for the table though they smelled and tasted fine so I will assume it must have been the lobster bisque that did me in. Overall I wanted to like Chops because it does have a great atmosphere but for this price point the food was lackluster, there are plenty of better options nearby.

Yelp
Very classy, high-end atmosphere. Solid service. We sampled a wide variety of menu items. Our first item was the lump crab cocktail, which was good but very small - they give you BOWLS of two sauces for about 5 total bites of crab. The NY Strip was good, but not a standout relative to some of the competition elsewhere. The lobster was solid as expected. This was a fine experience overall, just seemed a tad underwhelming when priced similar to other high-end restaurants.

Yelp
If your looking for a great experience this is the place to be! The service was amazing 10/10! With our waiter giving us food recommendations, attentive to pouring us more wine and water & food coming out in a reasonable time. The Mac and cheese was amazing! And the fried lobster with steak was very good as well! perfectly seasoned and cooked. You get what you pay for - the resteraunt is on the pricey side however, worth it! Best steak and lobster I have had ever! The oysters were very good as well! I will be returning :)

Yelp
The food was good. The drinks were good. The service was very good. The delivery of food was a little longer than I care for, but they did come over to ensure we had plenty of drinks. My steak, bone in ribeye, was a little overcooked. My fault, next time if I'm there, I'll order it rare. Be It was a generous price of meat. I took more than half of it home. 80 bucks for a ribeye a little over the top. The asparagus lacked favor and the hollandaise not good. My wife's steak, a peppercorn crusted filet was outstanding. The wedge salad was average, the bread pudding a little over average. The main drawback was how noisy it was. There is no separation of sections, so everyone can and has to talk loud. Once the drinks come the conversations get louder. I found the wine list overpriced, but that's the way it is. All in all it was a C+.

Yelp
Had dinner at Chops(11/4/23) with wife and another couple--evening started off with accident by waitress spilling 2 drinks(martini's) on my wife and no acknowledgment by the management with respect to my wife being drenched with alcohol on her clothes shoes and even the chair she sat in--this $300.00 experience gave pause to why we even went to this over priced restaurant with so many other fine restaurants in the area Nick N ultimate dinning member

Yelp
Overpriced wannabe steakhouse. The fact that they serve their lobster appetizer with honey mustard and butter should tell you the level of the cuisine. It's hilarious how they call the honey mustard an aioli when the main ingredient in aioli is garlic. The McDonald's honey mustard is actually better. The manager comes to the table to ask how we're doing but with an attitude trying to rush us out. Food was subpar. Meanwhile, all the drinks tasted the same (tasteless). At the time, we had spent $400 for a table of two and were ordering more when we were asked to leave because apparently there's a 5 drink limit per table. If you ask me, it was because we were the only young Latino table in the entire restaurant. Overall, terrible food and terrible attitude. This place is a joke. Go to Capital Grille or Steak 954 in Fort Lauderdale.
