What to Eat in Maryland’s Booming Koreatown  | Eater DC

"At this much-loved, family-friendly Korean BBQ restaurant stretching up two stories, each table has its own stove-top gas grill where guests can serve as their own grill master cooking meats such as prime rib-eye, brisket, and other options specifically to their liking. Banchan such as kimchi, pickled radish, rice, seaweed, and other snacks are served by the droves. There is also more than just KBBQ. They also offer (seafood and veggie) bibimbap, cold noodle dishes, and kimchi and seafood pancakes, along with other delicacies. 9445 Baltimore National Pike" - Claudia Rosenbaum

Chosun Hwaro heads to the Miracle Mile Shops | Eater Vegas

"Planned as the largest Korean barbecue restaurant in Las Vegas, it will occupy 13,000 square feet and include space for Nara Teppan, an in-house teppanyaki dining option. The Korean-based operators behind the project run the Ebadom restaurant franchise, and executive chef David Moon will oversee the new restaurant, which is set to replace Todai Japanese Sushi & Seafood Buffet on the Harmon Avenue side of the Miracle Mile Shops. Originally hoping to debut by the end of March, Chosun Hwaro is still deep in construction and is currently hiring." - Bradley Martin

The food at Chosun Hwaro is amazing! The BBQ meat is super flavorful, the seafood tofu soup is delicious, the Korean pancake is crispy, the stir-fried squid is tasty, and the bibimbap is so satisfying 😋🔥. The staff are fast, friendly, and very attentive 😊👏. Definitely a great spot to enjoy authentic Korean flavors! 🇰🇷✨

Been to this restaurant three times. It’s truly one of the best places to visit in the Baltimore area if you want authentic Korean cuisine. The staff are very friendly, welcoming, and helpful in helping you understand the menu and cook the BBQ items to perfection. The place is managed and staffed by Koreans who obviously care to a high degree about the authenticity of the food they’re putting out. I’ve come here with Korean friends who had nothing but positive things to say, and for me personally, coming to this restaurant alone makes the long trip from Baltimore to Ellicott City worth it. The quality of the meat they serve is exceptional, with every piece coming out juicy and tender from the grill. Their other options such as their cold noodles and tofu soup are also some of my personal favorites. This place has by far the best Korean food I’ve had in this area, and I 100% recommend it to anyone craving Korean cuisine. The restaurant itself is spacious, clean, and well organized inside. There’s 2 floors to the restaurant, so typically they will have some tables or a short wait time, but I would recommend making a reservation for larger parties especially if it’s a busy day. The restaurant is popular so it does fill up quickly. There is plenty of parking available for those driving here.

We had the Chosun Hwaro Marinated Combo for $139. Menu states enough for 3-4 people, we were 2 people and it was just about enough. If we had 3-4 people it would not have been enough. Most of the meat was good some a little tough and gristly. Soju was great but they were out of the Snow Beauty Sake which was disappointing. Overall a good experience here. The negatives were that the waiter was cooking everything so fast that it appeared like he was trying to rush us out of the place. If we return we would prefer to cook our own meat, we did not know this was an option until after our meal though.

10/10 100% recommend. Chosun Hwaro Marinated Combo $139 I came here on a Tuesday afternoon while in town on vacation. I came with family: 2 adults and 2 children. The staff was inviting, friendly, and knowledge about the menu. This was only my second time having Korean BBQ in the restaurant and I excited to have a meal tasty lunch and cultural cooking experience before my evening flight. This was only my second time at a Korean bbq spot and I was floored by the service as well quality and taste of the food and drinks. The staff remembered my family and restarted us even more kindly and interacted well with the young kiddos in our party.

Google
Spacious, courteous and lets not forget the meats is off the chart good. I do not wish to make this and elongated review, but all I can say is definitely worth the trip. This KBBQ has a full bar as well. Not common in many Korean restaurants.

Google
This Korean bbq is so good! They are extremely attentive, and food quality is definitely superb! They have great combo sets for all different ranges and types of meats. The side dishes are pretty expansive and also really fresh! The restaurant isn’t too loud, and feels a little more modern compared to a classic bar Korean bbq restaurant. Definitely will be returning!

If you're serious about Korean BBQ, ChoSun Hwaro should be on your radar. On the pricier side but well worth the experience. The experience starts with the spread -- a table full of fresh banchan (side dishes) that could honestly be a meal on their own. From kimchi with the perfect tang to the crunchy pickled radish, every little dish adds something to the feast. The highlight, of course, is the meat selection. We went all-in with marinated short rib and pork belly, and watching them hit the grill was a moment of pure joy. Tender, flavorful, and cooked exactly how you want it, right at your table. The quality is there -- you taste it in every bite. We ordered the ChoSun Hwaro marinated set for 139, side a pork belly and seafood pancake. For 5 people, with two big guys over 6 ft tall, we were stuffffed! Service was attentive without hovering -- staff checked in often to make sure the grill was running smoothly and that our table stayed stocked. The atmosphere is lively but not overwhelming, making it just as good for a family dinner as it is for a night out with friends. By the end, I had eaten way more than planned, but that's the magic of Korean BBQ done right -- you lose track of time (and portion control). ChoSun Hwaro nails it: great food, thoughtful service, and an experience that makes you want to come back. Ellicott City, Korean bbq, only one clear option.

Google
Good food and vibes! The prices are a little bit higher because it is a la carte but I feel like quality of the meat is a lot better than somewhere else like Iron Age. Overall it comes out to about the same price anyways. We went and they had a good deal for restaurant week this week!

Yelp
I went here for dinner with my friend after a recommendation from another Yelper. He told me this restaurant is better than KPot and I totally agree. Chosun has a lot of room with two levels. My friend and I came on a Wednesday night so it wasn't crowded at all. The meat quality at Chosun is so much better and was just enough food - meat and sides for the both of us. They unfortunately do not have a dessert menu but their sake and soju selection is great.

Yelp
Overall: good Korean BBQ, excellent service, fun ambiance, with multi-stall gendered restrooms with no changing pad for babies I've been before and it was a fine experience. Good meat and great service, but it was pretty expensive and the bon chon selection wasn't my favorite, so we typically go to other KBBQ in the area. Last night though we went with a group of 10, with two kids, and the service we got was incredible. Sean really treated us like royalty. He and the other staff were so quick to anticipate every need and they went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and happy. An example being my 1 year old dropped his spoon on the ground, and without us asking Sean was over within seconds with a new one just because he heard it drop. All ten people found plenty of things that they enjoyed eating and everyone left stuffed and happy.

Yelp
One of the best Korean barbecue places that I've been to the quality of the meat here is superior they offer A5 Wagyu as well as Gaby, both marinated and LA style and Bulgogi. They also have a noodles menu and an alcohol menu. They also have a self serve Ramen station, which I thought was cool. The service was good nothing to complain there. Our server did check up on us frequently to make sure if there was anything we needed in terms of the ambience. It is very clean including the bathrooms. There's plenty of seating and they have their own private parking lot

Yelp
Chosun Hwaro Korean BBQ has quickly become my go-to spot after two incredible visits. It was recommended to me by a Korean colleague, as well as the owner of Baltimore's The Local Fry, so I knew it had to be legit. In my opinion, this is hands down the best Korean BBQ restaurant in the Baltimore area. The staff is consistently friendly, attentive, and quick to help without hovering. The banchan is addictive--especially the bean sprouts and fish cake, which I look forward to every time. We've tried nearly all the premium cuts: brisket, L.A. galbi, galbi, Empress Galbi, Emperor's Galbi, and Prime Ribeye galbi--each one tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Both times I've left feeling full and completely satisfied. I'm glad I finally gave it a try, and now I can't stop coming back.

Yelp
Two words: MEAT VOLCANO. We came for my fiance's birthday dinner with friends and loved the fanfare of it! Definitely made it a memorable meal and it was delicious too! The broth and meat was flavorfully harmonious and we liked consuming soup from the moat lmao. This was probably the table favourite of our kbbq dinner although all the cuts were good. Pricey but would come back again for special occasions, especially for the unique experience of the meat volcano!

Yelp
Best KBBQ in Ellicott City hands doooown! I always get a beef combo to share. The quality of the meat is so good and the banchan is so good too. They just opened another location in VA and I'm so glad they're expanding!

Yelp
Leaving a review after three years of going to this place. I've been going to this place since the day they opened. The quality has been consistent which deserves 5 stars. The best Korean bbq I. HOCO for sure. Quality of the meat is great and service is always good. They will bring you extra side dish without giving you looks. They don't take a reservation for small groups so be prepare to wait a bit but the turnaround is pretty fast. My favorite K bbq in town.

Yelp
Spacious Korean BBQ restaurant that offers higher quality Korean BBQ food than your typical Korean BBQ joints. The servers are nice enough for a Korean restaurant. The food is pretty delicious and offers variety of cuts of beef and pork. Pretty solid restaurant given the lack of quality restaurants in the Ellicott City area in general. I have been there about 5 times since I have been living in EC for about 5 months. Chosun Hwaro is definitely one of my favorite Korean restaurant in the local area. They serve decently marbled beef and pork at somewhat reasonable but still pricey prices. Everything feels expensive anyways. At least this place offers quality foods. I would highly recommend that you get combos if you're just trying it out for the first time. The combos offer variety of food at somewhat discounted price. But you wouldn't be getting good cuts of beef but still good. Personally, I don't eat much so I usually just order a la carte instead of the combos. Definitely a good Korean BBQ restaurant worth giving a try.

Yelp
I've eaten at Chosun twice now and both experiences have been very positive. There's a small private parking lot and staff are so friendly and helpful. Recommendation to make reservations because they're busy almost every night (not packed though). I personally like their steamed egg because they add some cheese on top and not all places do that. The quality of their galbi is good and pork belly is so flavorful. I also like that it isn't too noisy and it's a family oriented restaurant.

Yelp
Came at 1:30pm on a Saturday and was seated quickly. Me, my boyfriend, and friend ordered the pork combo and spicy cold noodles (bibim myeon). The staff was super helpful with cooking all of the meat, which was flavorful and cooked well. We loved the sides it came with including the steamed egg and soybean soup. The spicy noodle was the perfect amount of spice and sweetness and the noodles were refreshing to cut through the fattiness of the meat. Definitely think this is one of the best KBBQ in the Montgomery county/Howard county area. Totally worth the drive from Rockville, MD. The inside of the restaurant wasn't loud and we didn't leave the restaurant smelling like smokey BBQ. I would come again if I wanted good quality meat with family or friends.

Yelp
A five star for their chive pancake - truly the best version I've had in the US. This is a very well reputable Korean barbecue restaurant in Ellicott city, and it's actually such a massive space. we went during lunch and it was so insanely busy. But the staff was fast! The only negative thing I have to say is that because it is so popular with foreigners they added cheese to our tteokboki when it was an additional add on and I prefer my tteokboki without cheese. when one of the women asked me why I wasn't taking the leftover home. I told her I didn't like it with cheese and she immediately said she would've bought us another one, but it really was OK at the end of the day. the soonbudu - soft tofu stew is great. Their buckwheat cold noodles are so good that I didn't even use the vinegar and mustard condiment. They have a build your own Ramen station and they have coolers with Korean ice cream and lots of Korean drinks. I felt like I was back in Korea.

Yelp
This was probably one of the nicer Korean bbq places I've been to in ellicott city! There's plenty of seating & the menu a la carte. Our group ordered a variety of meats, the Tiger shrimp (for me), japchae, oyster pancakes, soon do bu, & steamed egg. It was all very delicious! I'm glad they had options for pescatarians like me. I would have liked if the Tiger shrimp was a bit easier to eat, the skin was a bit tough but I like the presentation. Would go here again if my friends wanted Korean bbq.

Yelp
During a quick trip to Baltimore, my fiance and I decided to close out the weekend trip with some KBBQ after all the seafood. Chosun Hwaro came up on Yelp, and the combos looked delish! Upon entering, the place was already starting to fill up around lunch time. The restaurant is spacious and decently vented (but still a bit smoky). We were recommended the small Chosun Hwaro combo ($109), which had all the meats we wanted to try (empress galbi, emperor galbi, brisket). It also comes with a steamed egg & doenjang jjigae (no stew subs). The meat quality here was really good, & we both enjoyed all of the different cuts. Wasabi is provided with the dipping sauce, and complements the beef perfectly. Banchan is a bit on the spicier side but tasty. Service was attentive for sure. Our server was tending to 4 other tables at the same time, but still managed to cook our meats to the requested temperature.

Yelp
I love their tower of meat! This is a great place for Korean BBQ. I love it here and their prices are decent. They have great service and I didn't have to wait long to go even on a weekend night. They have great parking up front and the food was absolutely delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is my new favorite spot for KBBQ in Ellicott City! The menu is huge and has such a variety that goes beyond just BBQ with their appetizers, entrees, and ramen bar. It seems extremely pricey though, for 2 people we spent $200+ on 1 small a la carte KBBQ combo to share and one entree with 2 drinks. Unfortunately since it's not AYCE, it can add up. The quality was honestly great so couldn't complain. We also went home with leftovers so it was great lunch for the next day. The entire spread was beautiful and they have soooo many sides, I'm a huge sides person when it comes to KBBQ so I really appreciated that. Service was super attentive and constantly checking on us to see if we needed anything and helping to cook our food. It's crazy busy, even on a weeknight which goes to show how great it is!
google avatar

Yelp
After living in Korea, it is tough to find a good Korean BBQ that's authentic and has a beautiful atmosphere. If you're looking for that...this is the PLACE The quality of meats, to the service to the attention to details in the decoration definitely deserves 5 stars. I went in for lunch and man was it packed! Everyone was speaking Korean, greeting everyone as they walked in etc. The menus were beautiful presented and there's a wide variety of meats & pork to choose from. The service is quick and the portions are large! Don't be afraid of the price because you'll go home with a full stomach, maybe even leftovers but a full heart. It was the quickest KBBQ service I've ever had in a good way! They cook for you and ensure you are always cared for. Will be back!
google avatar

Shay H.

Yelp
It's unfortunate that every time I return here, the food gets worse. The emperor and empress galbi- both around $40 - are full of fat and inconsistent marbling. As pictured below, they're poor quality meat cuts. Definitely quality is going way down at this restaurant... very sad.

Karina V.

Yelp
We've been searching for a good Korean BBQ spot in Maryland and finally found this place. The food and overall quality were excellent--good enough that it could have even topped the Korean BBQ spot we loved in Colorado. However, our first experience here felt rushed, which unfortunately kept it from surpassing that Colorado spot. I would definitely love to come back and give it another try, but I can't help but wonder if the rushed service we experienced had anything to do with my ethnicity. I hope that wasn't the case, because this restaurant truly has the potential to be one of the best. The quality of the meat was excellent.
google avatar

Nikki Z.

Yelp
Chosun Hwaro is right next to the Checkers on Route 40. Parking can be tight during the dinner rush, but there are spots behind the building. We come here a lot as the quality of meat is great, but the price is on the higher side. We will often select a beef and a pork cut from the a la carte menu; they do offer combination platters that lump their options already for those that are undecided. One great thing about the combos is that the steamed egg and side soup are included. If you order a la carte and want the egg and soup, you'll have to pay extra. In this economy, it's understandable, but can't say I'm not slightly disappointed in that. They do have one of the best steamed eggs though! It is topped with a little cheese and green onions. When you dine in, you will automatically be given a couple of banchan (side dishes), a salad that is already seasoned, and their special sauce. Ask for some sesame oil on the side. Banchans are usually tasty and you can always ask for more If you want a fuller experience, there are other KBBQ places that include more variety of banchan, steamed egg and the soup. Servers are always friendly and super helpful. Conclusion: Come to Chosun for quality meat and great service but just be aware that you'll be paying a higher price than some places

Yelp
The server was EXCELLENT, he cooked/cut everything for us, explained the menu clearly, very attentive; and fast. We ordered Chosun Hwaro Combo Large; everything were cooked/maintained perfectly, the meats were tender and juicy. The dipping sauce just added more flavors which I didn't need, the side dishes were delicious but the salad was beyond delicious and super fresh (i had a big bowl and half); all sides were free refilled. The steamed eggs were SUPER fluffy; lightly seasoned; and creamy so GOOD! I have been to this place three times and they never disappoint.
google avatar

Yelp
This place was so surprising! As someone from Southern California, I have high expectations for Korean food. Chosun Hwaro did NOT disappoint! The haemul pajeon had great texture. The outside had a great crisp and the amount of seafood was worth the price. My only gripe about the pajeon is, it was a bit too flour heavy. Additional to the pajeon, I also ordered a jeyuk bokkeum and it was fantastic! Many places rely on the Korean Red Pepper Paste for taste, but this dish had a great balance of sweet, spicy, and umami. The meat was also soft, but not mushy or fatty. The veggies were soft, but also held their own crunchy texture. Besides the taste, the portions were a complete surprise as they were MASSIVE! With the two dishes I ordered, you could definitely split that between three hungry people and maybe even four people The service was great and the servers met our every need. Additionally, the restaurant was very clean and well maintained! I would 100% recommend this place and plan to visit oftern.

Yelp
Oops! This review is for the same restaurant in Fairfax, Va. I had a group of over 20 people come for lunch. Private room was very nice. Food was very tasty and service was good. We got a big bill but I think it was worth it. We paid more for Prime meat and it was a good choice. I would definitely visit again. Hope they continue to have the same quality of food and service for a long time so I can continue to go there.

Yelp
Pricey but great Korean bbq. It is not AYCE. Depending on who you go with, the price may be the same or cheaper than AYCE if you get there combination options. One of my favorites to go to in MD. Service is excellent. They are attentive and will cook the food in front of you if you like so that you can concentrate on conversation with your party. Restaurant is very clean and has good exhaust systems. Ample parking as well.

Yelp
Solid kbbq spot! Much better quality than Iron Age or your run of the mill kbbqs. Side dishes were delicious, and our server was quick to replenish any that we finished. We got the pork belly and kalbi (you have to order at least 2 portions of meats) major downside is it's not all you can eat but the quality of the meat was great. We found that the 2 portions was just enough to fill us up but not to the point you feel ill (a common occurrence at normal AYCE kbbq spots? Glad to have visited and we'll def be back

Yelp
My husband and I randomly visited the Chosun Hwaro in a whim this past Friday. We were driving around looking for new restaurants to try and after passing this restaurant multiple times prior, we decided it was time to give them a try. That was a great decision. We the wait was short for a Friday, about ten minutes. As soon as we were seated, the waitress brought out several sides and water immediately. We decided on the Baekdusan bulgogi and the pan Fried dumplings, two great choices! The bulgogi was as so tender and flavored wonderfully, but for $44, I think the portions should have been bigger. The dumplings were also very good, the sauce provided with them was slightly spicy, but very tasty. All of the small side they provided were really good too, I especially like the salad with the spicy dressing and the pasta salad with the apples. Great experience!

Fred N.

Yelp
Went there on a Saturday night with a group of 8. Was able to be seated quickly with breaking into 2 tables on the second floor. We ordered a large combo plus a cheese corn. The meats were all delicious!! The dipping sauce went very well with the meats too. Bunch of sides and rice went well together. Our server was very attentive and service was superb! I would definitely return. Great food and experience.

Yelp
I love Korean bbq, I heard it's really good in Elliot City. I typically drive to Annandale, VA to get the authentic experience. However my friend recommended Chosun and we stopped by on a Friday night. There wasn't a wait, this restaurant is very big, two floors and it's smells so good walking into the restaurant. Our server, Shaun, took care of us, he cooked our brisket and galbi beef. The meat was fresh and high quality. He even prepped the grill with beef fat prior to grilling. I loved all the sides, my favorites included the Kimchi, boy Chou and the seaweed. The steam egg is a must, we ordered the large and shared it.
google avatar

Justine L.

Yelp
Was in the area and craving kbbq! The space is really clean and upscale. Had a huge variety of drinks, coffee packs and a ramen bar for purchase. The ventilation was good and we didn't smell after grilling! Our waitress cooked for us but we had to keep trying to find her to ask for utensils, drinks, extra sides, salt and pepper and rice. For how expensive their meat and food is, I would've liked the experience to match. Although the cuts are good, there wasn't much of it. If you're looking for high quality meats this is the place, if you're hungry and you want to eat a lot that's another story.

Yelp
Great birthday dinner for my wife and future daughter in law with 7 people today at Choson Hwaro in Ellicott City , Md . Great customer service and very good Korean BBQ with lots of Side Dishes .

Yelp
The meat and banchan quality are exceptional and one of the best in the DMV area. The appetizers such as the haemul pajeon are large and for sharing. In addition, the servers are welcoming and accommodating. I would not hesitate to come here again for a celebration. The restaurant is a little dim but with adequate table size for all parties. Highly recommend for an anniversary dinner or family dinner.

Sung Hee K.

Yelp
This is an above average Korean bbq pkace. The service was friendly and ambiance was pleasant and not too loud. We ordered the galbi meat first which was succulent and flavorful. We then ordered the meat tower which has a liquid and lots of shredded scallions. It was good though a bit sweet for me. I prefer little to zero sugar in my cooking but restaurants seem to make food increasingly sweeter these days. We also had naengmyun. The broth was good. The noodles were fine for me but some in our party said it was not chewy enough. The soy bean soup is good but does not come included in the meal. If I were in the neighborhood I would definitely go here again. It's a solid Korean bbq place.

Yelp
When they first opened up years ago, I had terrible experience and didn't go back for a while but now this place is probably our favorite Korean bbq place in the area. We've been to pretty much all Korean bbq along Baltimore National Pike and I think this place's meat quality is best. The service is fantastic each and every time as well and the place have traditional Korean restaurant look. My daughter absolutely loves their brisket and the sauce that comes with it. They have pretty good seafood pancake, short rib soup, and naengmyun/cold noodle soup. But if you're getting bbq, this place doesn't give you free steamed egg and soy bean paste soup like other bbq places I've been to, so would have to order them as extra sides if you want it. But for good Korean bbq and food, this is a solid place to try.
google avatar

Diana N.

Yelp
This place is pricy, but I think it may be the best KBBQ in Maryland! So many unique offerings here from Sesame soaked Tartare to a Bulgogi mountain. The dishes aren't just outrageous to be outrageous; they are delicious too. The meat quality is phenomenal and I know this because I've tried all the KBBQ spots in the DMV. Not only that, it's run by a nice family who have passed the torch to their son who provided the best customer service. If you want the best of the best - come to Chosun Hwaro :)
google avatar

Yuteng W.

Yelp
Chosun is widely regarded among my peers as the bougie kbbq spot that you go for quality and an empty wallet. i would agree with the sentiment, with the meat combos definitely being on the higher price point, but of impeccable quality. extremely well marbled and tender meat that is grilled by the staff served with a variety of side dishes makes for a very satisfying and luxurious meal. we got the marinated combo and all of the meats were fantastic quality. ambiance is standard, nothing that stands out or detracts as it is a very polished looking restaurant, and service is great and extremely attentive. if you're looking to treat yourself or impress some guests i would highly recommend this establishment!

Yelp
This was one of the best dining experiences I had in a long time. We were novice, but with some pre-meal recommendations we landed at Chosun. We arrived during the 6pm hour and it was steadily busy. Our server was super attentive and assisted with suggestions. We landed on a recommendation that an acquaintance made prior to our visit. Everything was delicious, the beef tender and the accompaniments were tasty. The star of the evening was the Jinro. I've had sake before but not of this variety. It was so good that following our meal we found a nearby liquor store that carried the brand and grabbed a few for the house. I can't wait to return to try more meal options.

Yelp
I have been here a couple of times. Whenever I have friends in the area and they want quality a la carte KBBQ Chosun is the spot. This place does not offer any AYCE options and the quality of meats are really high. I always call ahead and ask for reservations. Even with the restaurant usually packed I can always get a table. The atmosphere and ambience are great. Music is not too loud that you can hear people at your table speak. My friends and I recently stopped by and had the large Chosun Hwaro combo and the large assorted Jeon. This was plenty of food for the 5 of us. The galbi, brisket and Baekdusan bulgogi are must orders here. I've ordered the Baekdusan in the past. The presentation is just great. Think of a mountain of meat over a bunch of sauce and onions. As the meats are cooking, its being marinated as well. The Jeon was one of the best I've ever had. The beef and kimchi ones were my favs. I just wish they had more variety in the dipping sauces. The only one was kind of bland and the doenjang bean paste you have to request. Initially it took us a couple of tries to flag down our waiter to order. Price wise its a bit higher than other places, but if you factor in the quality its well worth it.

Yelp
Yummy a la carte KBBQ !!! Usually I go for ayce KBBQ but I enjoy going to eat a la carte KBBQ as I have more selection of meat to choose from and eating more to enjoy, rather than fill myself up. We got the Chosun Hwaro Combo (S) which comes with empress galbi, emperor's galbi brisket point, steamed egg, and soybean paste stew. We also ordered the seafood pancake and the baekdusan bulgogi! This amount of food was able to feed 6 people and left us full. We could really savor the quality of meat and enjoy our meal. One thing I really liked about this restaurant is that they have a good suction for KBBQ so all the smoke doesn't get on your clothes and leaves you smelling like KBBQ. Another thing is service is really good and the waiters/waitresses frequently come to check up on your table and help you flip the meat. I would recommend getting the baekdusan bulgogi if you want very juicy meat. Not only is it pretty, it's marinated pretty well. Any of the combo sets are good to share too and try some quality meat selections! Overall, I would definitely recommend and it would be a great date spot too!

Yelp
Walking in is really nice - you feel like you're in another world and not Ellicot City. It's darker inside but that's nice - I'm not a fan of the huge bright lights and florescent bulbs. It's cozy, warm, inviting. Been here a few times and I absolutely love it. The Korean bbq here is so good. It's not AYCE but that's better sometimes. The meat quality is higher and just overall tastes better. Service is exceptional, someone is always around attending to you if necessary. Water is always refilled, they help with cooking the bbq if you need it. There is this one dish that is places on the hotplate and is a soup. Omg it's so good, I forgot to take a picture! Try the food. Try the soup plate. Try the basket of pancakes. Will be back soon!

Yelp
One of best Korean bbq places we have ever been! It was opened on thanksgiving which was nice as the place down the street was closed. Bulgogi tasted amazing and lots of tasty sides. Costs around $35 each and leave smelling like bulgogi. Atmosphere was cozy in booths and romantic.

Yelp
Love this place for a large group party. I feel like the servers look like K-Drama stars and they are all so friendly. Great cuts of meats -so fresh. The dipping sauce very tasty and the bon chon bottomless and very fresh. Fast service and great food for a perfect K BBQ experience

Yelp
I really enjoyed visiting this place. If your in the mood for authentic Korean foods this is the place to go. The staff was so nice and attentive. They helped wish me a happy birthday for my bday. And the ambiance was a nice calm place to eat. It wasn't too overcrowded like other kbbq places. I will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
This place is great! It is not an AYCE establishment, but the food portions are generous, the flavor is amazing, and the service is great. This is a good spot for 2 people, but a great place for at least 4. Plenty of parking and they also have an option for meals that don't require to BarBQ.

Yelp
My friends and I came to Chosun Hwaro Korean BBQ on a Saturday night around 8:00pm. We were seated right away upstairs. There is plenty of seating downstairs and upstairs. They first bought over water and banchan. There was kimchi, radish, bean sprouts, lettuce, to name a few. We had the Haemul Pa Jeon, seafood pancake and the Gyeran Jim, steamed egg. This was a really good size and really tasty. You can see the seafood in the pancake. The steamed egg had cheese on top and very smooth. For the bbq meats, we had the brisket point, pork belly, and L.A. Galbi. The L.A. Galbi was my favorite. It was the most tastiest out of the meats. The server was attentive and kept an eye on the meat. She flipped and cooked everything. We also shared a Mio Sparkling Sake. This is my favorite sparkling sake so I was really happy to see it on the menu. Within an hour, all the food was cooked and consumed. It was very fast service. There is also a parking lot.

Yelp
Went here with a group (9 people) on a Sunday around 2pm. This was my first time trying KBBQ so I was very excited and this place delivered!! The staff is very friendly and very accommodating, one person from our party needed special seating arrangement and they were very receptive to that. We did make a reservation maybe a week ahead. There is plenty of parking. One of my worries prior to arriving there was that my clothes would smell like food, but I was actually really impressed because the ventilation system they have on top of each bbq plate does a great job of eliminating the smoke from the meat. We tried a few different meats for the group, of note were the ribeye, dumplings, seafood pancake and the Bulgogi tower, which is set on top of a yummy broth as well as glass noodles and onions. They also bring you multiple small side dishes including kimchi, fish bread. Everything I had was amazing, but The dumplings, were my favorite, they came with a side of a sauce with a nice kick to it. The bulgogi tower was aesthetically and flavor wise the star dish, the combination of the unsalted meat/onions/noodle soaked in the broth was flavor Burst in my mouth. I'm definitely looking forward to going back again!

Yelp
My mom was visiting out of state and she really wanted to try Korean BBQ and several reviews said this place is very authentic. We received great attentive customer service! Our waitress guided us on what to order and I loved that she got my husband and I cold water, but she gave my Chinese mom hot tea and my mom was so impressed that she knew what she wanted without asking! It was hilarious We ordered 2 marinated meats and 1 of the boiled pork belly (I think??). We also ordered tofu soup, some noodles and steamed eggs. I wanted to order more food, but the waitress insisted that it was enough food and it was because we ended up packing a lot of it home. They also help you cook the food here which I loved because I knew I would have been the one that ends up cooking. I definitely want to be back, but with more people so we can order more food next time!

Yelp
Best KBBQ in the DMV for the experience. This is full service KBBQ, so they cook all the meats for you perfectly. They know to crisp up the brisket and the ribeye and short ribs were all medium rare and very tender. Seafood pancake looked a lot smaller than usual, but still good, as were the dumplings. You get 8-10 different banchan that they keep filled and proactive is replacing water and anything else you need. Our waitress was excellent, although a little hard to understand some times. Always have an outstanding meal here and wish they open a location in Rockville.

Yelp
Great authentic food with a good selection (try the pork belly!), prompt and helpful service. Fair price. Fun ambiance and atmosphere.
