I don't know. I thought this was just...okay? This was really hard to write because I get the impression that the food was fine...maybe, but just didn't fit my preferences. I'll also caveat that we didn't order actual all-you-can-eat BBQ, but only other prepared dishes.
The beef tartare, for example, Eaten like this, the umami seems so weak. I can barely taste the beef. I don't know if the flavor is supposed to be this weak or if the texture is supposed to be like a dessert, but I don't understand what's so great about this.
The veggie pancake. I dislike the texture of this also. That, combined with it being room temperature and the soggy veggies. I like lots of different kinds of pancakes including scallion pancakes and okonomiyaki. This reminds me less of those and more like those veggie tempura circles. I do not like this.
There were the kalbi ribs, which were good, but I thought they were only good to the extent that kalbi ribs are always good. I can just buy some from the grocery store and make this. Also, I prefer the kalbi one of my co-workers made a couple weeks ago.
Then, the kurobuta pork. This small plate of meat that they put like no work into is $35. Crazy. It tastes so mediocre to me. If this meat was really that expensive, they might as well buy cheaper meat because this expensive meat was wasted.
Spicy noodles was fine. The portion of noodles was pretty big, but the overall umami of this was also just okay.
Not the most objective review I've ever written, but welp, I'd didn't like it. I guess my standards on Asian BBQ have also gone up again.
