Japanese restaurant, grill and sushi bar fusing traditional clean lines with a grungy Tokyo style.
"If your least favorite EDM song was somehow converted into a restaurant, you’d get Chotto Matte. This massive Lincoln Road Japanese/Peruvian restaurant with fake pink trees (we don’t blame you if you stop reading here because you’ve heard enough) is hard to justify in any scenario. There are cooler places to see and be seen, far cheaper and better food (even on Lincoln Road), and the cocktails aren’t that great either in case you just want to come here to drink. The bathrooms - which we’ll describe as nightclub laser tag - are kind of interesting. But we’re pretty sure you’re not allowed to just come here and use the bathrooms, so maybe just don’t come at all." - Ryan Pfeffer
"Chotto Matte specializes in Nikkei cuisine, but it’s specifically a great place to go for a standout savory brunch. This Financial District spot with graffitied walls and a heated patio only does brunch on Saturday, but you’ll get the rare treat of a daytime tasting menu filled with shared plates like the robata-grilled Amazonian BBQ salmon, tuna tataki, and a king oyster mushroom tostada. All of it pairs perfectly with the cocktails like the Pisco’Cha, a riff on pisco sour with a touch of matcha." - Julia Eskins
