"Plenty of restaurants in Tahoe City have views of the lake, but Christy Hill backs that up with some really incredible food. While nearly every seat has a fantastic view, it’s dishes like sweet corn risotto and Moroccan spiced lamb loin that make reservations here hard to come by. If you don’t want to drop $40 on entrees, head to the summer-only Christy Hill Sandbar for a glass of wine and light bites with a slightly smaller price tag. It’s directly behind the restaurant on the lakeside, with more of a boat-shoes-and-sun-visors vibe—there’s outdoor bar service and a food truck doing lobster rolls, charcuterie, and oysters. "Christy Hill’s Mediterranean-influenced menu pairs well with its waterfront perch above Lake Tahoe. Thoughtful dishes like the duck duet with a spiced cherry compote or the seared scallops, served alongside an expansive wine selection and southwest-facing views of Lake Tahoe, make Christy Hill a landmark in Tahoe City’s restaurant scene. Or, for a more casual evening, take in the sunset with a glass of wine at Christy Hill’s Sandbar, at the bottom of the hill." - Julie Brown Davis

My wife and I made the correct decision to come here for our anniversary, the food was excellent and the staff were very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. There is no such thing as a bad seat in the restaurant, with all tables able to see how the large windows overlooking the lake. I hope we can find ourselves back here in the future in warmer weather so we can sit on the terrace!

Cannot understate how great of an experience I have every time I’ve gone. Menu is always fantastic with every change made. The meals have a wonderful combination of modern American as well as inspirations from Latino-American. Staff is fantastic and always makes me feel like I’m talking to friends that care. Never a bad meal or experience. Fantastic view. Salmon + trout roe is fantastic and the duck with mole is an incredibly unique and creative combination.

I had the most wonderful dinner (halibut), wine selection (not a full bar), dessert - all served by gracious, friendly Aaron. Perfect setting in a perfect setting overlooking Lake Tahoe.

I stopped by on a whim while in town, and it did not disappoint! We opted for the five-course meal with drink pairings, and everything was absolutely perfect. The staff was kind and accommodating, the view was stunning, and every dish was cooked to perfection. I’ve been craving it ever since and can’t wait to return!

Had a great lunch of lobster roll, ceviche, and hard cider at the Sand Bar. Great service and a lovely view.

Christy Hill has an incredibly thoughtful menu with delicious and seasonal ingredients. The views of the lake, welcoming service and cozy cute atmosphere make this restaurant a go-to for our special occasions. We visited the sandbar over the summer and the live music was amazing. Highly recommended!

We celebrated our engagement at this amazing spot, and it couldn’t have been a better experience. The hosts were super friendly, congratulating us and even treating us to a glass of rosé, which was a lovely touch. The food was absolutely delicious. The scallops were perfectly cooked, and the wagyu beef was melt-in-your-mouth good. And the princess cake? A perfect sweet ending to an already fantastic meal. The view of Lake Tahoe was the cherry on top, making the whole evening even more special. If you’re looking for a great place to celebrate a special occasion, we highly recommend this restaurant

Had the best birthday dinner experience at Christy Hill! Have been visiting this amazing restaurant since 2020 and it seems like it has gotten even better over the last year. Special thanks to Janis, JD the wine expert, and Alex, they are outstanding and made our dining experience extra special. Chef Luis outdid himself in the kitchen and every course was worth taking in slowly. A few of our favorites were the Octopus, the Deviled Eggs, the Ahi Tuna Crudo, and of course the Ribeye and the Moroccan Lamb. For desert, both the bread pudding and the sponge cake were delicious. Shoutout also to the kitchen for the clean plates and utensils in between every single course, I can’t ignore the difference that simple gesture makes. We cannot wait to go back next summer during our next Tahoe trip.

Yelp
Had the most amazing time at Christy Hill! Cozy with an excellent overlooking view. Came in wanting to try their tasting but the menu was so good we had to do ala carte to try the items that caught our eyes and everything was excellent! The food did not disappoint. Definitely order the octopus, scallop and salmon dishes! The cheese board was also thoughtfully curated with local accompaniments. Enjoyed my experience and can't wait to go back! Service was warm and friendly - definitely a local gem!

Yelp
It's been two years since I was last at Christy Hill, as some folks in my family thinks it's too far a drive from Glenbrook. But our dinner last night reminded the naysayers of why it's absolutely worth the drive. To begin with, there is no better ambiance anywhere in Lake Tahoe. As we were celebrating a double birthday, they honored my request for a window table and the view of the lake at dusk is stunning as was the moonlight reflecting on the lake as our dinner progressed. We started by sharing the deviled eggs and, while that may seem bland or ordinary, they definitely are not at CH, with caviare on one and a delicious red chili topping on the other. Absolutely delicious and went quite nicely with the outstanding white burgundy we selected off the excellent wine list. Next we shared a refreshing salad, the Crudo, the heirloom tomato toast, and the English pea agnolotti. All were excellent, with the Crudo and heirloom tomato toast probably winning by a nose. For mains, we shared the scallops, duck, halibut and Moroccan lamb. All outstanding. The halibut has been on the menu forever and it's hard to find it prepared better, certainly not up at Lake Tahoe. I am not a fan of scallops but the rest of the group raved about them. The duck was perfectly prepared and very tasty but the lamb is a special dish that you do not often see. The Moroccan spices in the sauce were just amazing. We brought an excellent 2005 Grand Cru Red Burgundy and it was the perfect complement for the duck and lamb. Since it was a double birthday, they brought us two desserts (the Passion Fruit cake and bread pudding) both of which were insanely delicious but I can't report on the other selections. Great selection of Port and Madeira for an after dinner drink. I had the excellent Madeira, which was recommended by the Sommelier, who is super knowledgeable and very approachable. He has a terrific wine list and you can just tell him what you like and let him do his stuff. Finally, the service was excellent despite the restaurant being completely full and the front of the house does a great job of balancing tables so the wait staff does not get overwhelmed. In short this is one of my favorite restaurants in California and could easily hold its own in LA or SF, but then you would not have the amazing setting. Most importantly, the anti-driving naysayers were completely won over so it will definitely be on the list whenever we are at the Lake.

Yelp
Charming -friendly, quaint, engaging and delightful Charmingly lit terrace with a beautiful portrait view of Lake Tahoe framed with trees and a shadow of mountains as a backdrop. Evening breezes with a complement of well portioned shared & small plates a choice a well chosen select entrees. From beginning to end an entire team that blended to make a seamless delightful dish-to-dish dining experience. Subtle guitar music blended to make a complete enjoyment of outdoor dining with a hum of relaxed unobtrusive melodies.

Yelp
I've been wanting to eat here for a while and finally was able to make it happen. Brought my gourmet chef of grandma because I knew she'd appreciate such exquisite food and she loved it. She had the halibut (and shared a bite with me, I haven't eaten fish in 8 years). Lucious, beautifully prepared and I'll be ordering this next time I go. Chef made a vegetarian dish for me that wasn't on the menu and it was beautiful and delicious. Three separate veggie combos each with their on flavors and well put together. The wait staff was very kind and helpful in walking us through wine/ food suggestions. Dessert was amazing. The bread pudding was absolutely incredible and my mouth waters just thinking about it! Definitely treat yourself! I didn't mention the view yet... two words... LAKE TAHOE. Whether you sit on the patio or inside you'll get a breathtaking view of Take Tahoe. There was also live music the night we went which added to the already lovely ambiance. Highly recommend Christy Hil‼ The owners are genuine are truly remarkable people. Looking forward to going back with my husband for our anniversary.

Yelp
Unable to make a reservation for 6 online, we decided to take our chances and showed up around 6:30 pm on a Wednesday. Luckily, they were able to seat us. The restaurant had a few patrons, but it wasn't crowded. Given the beautiful weather, we chose to sit outside and enjoy the lovely view of the lake. The service was excellent. The staff was very attentive, always refilling our waters, and the food came out quickly and was perfectly timed. The menu offered a wide variety of options, making it hard to decide. I opted for the Ahi Tuna Crudo, Artisanal Cheeses, Deviled Eggs Duet, and the Moroccan Spiced Lamb Loin. The Lamb Loin had a slight kick but wasn't overly spicy and was absolutely delicious. For dessert, we indulged in almost everything: the Passionfruit Bavarois, Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding, Chocolate Tartelette, and Lemon Panna Cotta. All were fantastic, but my favorites were the Passionfruit Bavarois and especially the Lemon Panna Cotta, which was incredibly refreshing. My guests and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. It's a bit fancy without being stuffy--just perfect!

Yelp
A TASTE OF CHRISTY HILL It gets busy in the summer, so reservations are highly recommended. When we were afraid our day was going to be to jammed, we discovered it was too late to cancel ours on Open Table without incurring a fee (I think it was $50.). We forced ourselves to go, but as soon as we arrived, we were both in the mood to celebrate my early birthday dinner. Since my sister is a regular, J.D. recognized her immediately. As soon as we officially checked in, we were led to a beautiful outdoor table with a stunning view. Luckily, my sister specified no "high tops" since we're both short. On the level below us, we could hear the live guitarist and singer play some enjoyable music. After so many gatherings this week, we both had had enough alcohol, so I opted for the Merry & Bright mocktail, a delightful concoction of lemonade, black currant, orange, pinks and a sprig of rosemary. We have so many favorite dishes here, so we were thrilled to see the tasting menu offered everything we desired. It's a good thing we both wanted this because it's only available for the entire table. Once we ordered, the chef sent us a refreshing amuse bouche of fig, mascarpone, hazelnut and mint. The Ahi Tuna Crudo, which soon followed, was spectacularly fresh and melted on my tongue. Red Yuzo Kusho, Ginger Ponzu, cucumber and Fresno pepper jazzed it up. The Burrata and Summer Peaches salad with arugula, pea tendrils, radish, cashews and Saba vinegar was surprisingly disappointing. The peaches were too hard and the dressing didn't have enough flavor. The Day Boat Scallop with marble potatoes, Romesco sauce, fennel, Gaeta olives and orange was fantastic. Of course, I wish there had been more than one since this is my favorite dish! I've never had The Moroccan Spiced Lamb, so it was fun to try this. The charred cauliflower, golden potatoe puree, olive stuffed Piquillo peppers and Charmoula loaded it with flavor, and the lamb was perfectly cooked. A delicate Chocolate Tartelette with coffee cremeux, mascarpone and raspberries topped off our meal. Even though they charge an extra fee to use a credit card, my sister paid with VISA. (Who wants to carry around hundreds of dollars in cash? ) Last I checked, the fee was 2%, but another review claims it's 6%. Service was stellar throughout the meal. Despite the blips, this turned out to be the best dinner this trip! Now, I'm glad Open Table wouldn't let us cancel. Enjoy the view and the meal on Christy Hill.

Yelp
Really great place on Lake Tahoe! It's cozy and vibey. We were laughing and enjoying ourselves the whole time which didn't seem like the overall vibe as it was more like a date spot The food was delicious. We got pretty much everything in the menu. The scallops and the carrot appetizer were stand outs The service was pleasant and attentive and very friendly. Great place!

Richelle T.

Yelp
The service was wonderful. We really enjoyed the scallops and halibut. The view is absolutely stunning. Highly recommend. We had 3 appetizers: the beef tongue, mushroom pasta and Brussel spouts. Everything was impeccable

Michae A.

Yelp
Overall we had a great dinner. Both entrees we ordered were cooked to perfection. (Day boat scallops and the fresh pappardelle pasta) Our service was attentive. And you can not beat the ambiance, overlooking Lake Tahoe.

Janill M.

Yelp
If you think the views and the ambiance of this place are breathtaking, wait till you try their food and experience the best dining in Tahoe. Janis, our server was beyond friendly and attentive. Alex gave us the warmest welcome and was able to accommodate us indoors due to weather conditions. If you're a wine lover you're gonna love JD's pairing recommendations. We loved everything we ordered but these are some of our favorites from the kitchen of Chef Luis -who is nothing short of spectacular-, Ahi Tuna Crudo, Grilled Octopus, Peach Burrata, Moroccan Lamb, and the Ribeye. For the sweet tooth I recommend the sponge cake with strawberry sorbet and bread pudding.

Katie L.

Yelp
Fantastic food, service and ambiance! The views of the lake are breathe taking! Went back twice while visiting Tahoe!

Jessica G.

Yelp
Food is good but everything else is disappointing. First, Christy Hill nickel and dimes you, it doesn't have the courage to raise their prices. They have a surcharge for using a credit card. I mean seriously? The bill for two was about $400, what type of restaurant has those prices and then asks for an addition 6% credit card fee? This isn't a food truck at the local grocery store that needs to avoid surcharges. Then they ask for an additional tip for the kitchen staff on top of the 20% for the server. Why doesn't Christ Hill raise prices so they can get a larger tip to share equally? The restaurant comes across as desperate. Second, we tried to make a reservation a few months ago and were told they don't take reservations for a party of 11. It is too large. When we were there we saw tables being set up for a party of 11. I asked about it and they told me it is a ski group that has been coming for years. These were all caucasian men in their late 20's. Guess white men are OK, but other groups aren't, see photo. The Tahoe City area has classier options.

Yelp
Came here on a weeknight during a trip to Tahoe. We were seated in the bar area at a high top that still offered a nice view of the beautiful lake. We opted for the tasting menu. The first course was a kanpachi, which was very light and flavorful. Next was a delightful beet salad. I enjoyed the scallop and lamb dishes very much. I thought the service was underwhelming, as they asked for us to hold on to our silverware between courses, which I find less than ideal for an upscale restaurant, particularly for a tasting menu. It was also hard to summon our waiter, as he was quite elusive. Their house breads were fantastic, though, and I really enjoyed their house made olive oil and lavender infused butter. The triple chocolate dessert that is part of the tasting menu is quite small but very rich. My dining partner opted for the panna cotta instead, which I think was stronger dessert. Overall, we enjoyed our experience here due to the quality and execution of the dishes and beautiful ambiance.

Kate P.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with great food. The portion sizes were good, with it having enough food but not too much. They had a good wine selection and variety of menu items. We ate outside and it was the perfect weather with the heater on low. I would absolutely recommend dinner at Christy Hill.

Lee K.

Yelp
Service was excellent. The waiters were very attentive and always available to service you. The food was well prepared and attractive in presentation. You could not ask for a better ambiance, beautiful Lake Tahoe. I highly recommend Christy Hill.

Michael R.

Yelp
To start, I had requested a table outside directly along the edge, closest to the water. We were seated at a high top initially but asked to be put on one of the tables instead since my wife is pregnant. We unfortunately were sat closer to the building and further from the water even though other tables were available. Not a big deal, assumed the 4 tops were reserved despite other parties of 2 dining at 4 tops. Our waitress was very friendly and pleasant throughout the night. She checked on a few things my wife had requested regarding the beat carpaccio. My wife can't eat goat cheese so we tried to see if there were any other options. Ended up getting it with the cheese on the side. It was still very delicious. Also got the bread basket and beef tartare. Both very good. My wife's entree (halibut) was great. I had ordered the steak medium rare. It came out and looked nearly well done. I asked the waiter if this was medium rare (knowing the answer of course), he said "medium rare per the kitchen, the sunlight sometimes makes it look over cooked", I said ok sounds good and accepted the entree. As this was happening our waitress came by and said "oh no that's not medium rare", to which I responded and said "looks close to well done to me", she took it back to the kitchen. About 1-2 minutes later she returned with the same dish and told me it looks medium rare inside. So I said that's fine and took the steak back. Steak was way over cooked and dry. Our waitress noticed I didn't eat most of the steak when we had concluded our meal and offered a free dessert. We went with the bread pudding which was good. Most of the meal was great. The steak experience was off putting. I could tell the waitress knew the steak was not right which made me think the kitchen may have refused it. For $64 the steak should be close to perfect. This was far from that.

Tiffany F.

Yelp
Amazing! Amazing! Incredible food, beautiful view and even better service Incredible beef tartare and octopus.

David J.

Yelp
I love this place! It could be pretentious but somehow avoids that pitfall like Indiana Jones. The servers are excellent and very knowledgeable about their food and wine. The views are fabulous I recommend arriving before sunset if possible. We also saw a bear cub walk from the lake through the parking lot below which was a bonus! OK back to the food. It's really really good. This place has changed hands a few times over the years but never posts its luster and attention to detail. It's been a while so forgive me for forgetting what we ordered but I can say that it was all excellent. Not cheap but worth it!

Ella W.

Yelp
We came here with friends to celebrate a special occasion. We arrived about 15 minutes early for our 7:45 reservation for 4 on a Saturday night in October and the hostess said that they were a little behind but we could get drinks across the street at Za's and confirmed our phone number. (Their bar was completely full up) We really appreciated her sending us there instead of us milling about for 30 minutes waiting for our table. Pro strat. Plus Za's patio was heated and pretty nice to sit at. The ambiance inside is cozy. I bet during the winter with snow it'd feel even cozier. They have a wall of windows that overlook the lake, though it was too late for us to see anything. We ordered the olives and the bread to start. The olives are very heavily seasoned- I'd not recommend unless you're really an olive person. Their focaccia bread was very good! My table got the Black Cod, Moroccan Spiced Lamb, duck in mole sauce, and scallop plates. Everyone agreed that the scallop plate was hands down the best! It was prepared on a bed of risotto. The scallops were tender and perfectly prepared. For dessert we got the Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding and it was INCREDIBLE. The whipped cream melted slowly on hot pudding, creating an ice-cream melting over brownie sensation. I absolutely would recommend going here.

Carole W.

Yelp
We had the best dinner I've ever had in Tahoe last night at Christy Hill. We all loved our dinners. The charcuterie plate is a great way to start, great combo of cheeses, meats, nuts and olives. I had the duck in a mole sauce with cranberries. Sounded like an odd combo but this dish was amazing. Duck was cooked to perfection. My husband had the mushroom raviolis, I tasted one, wow, so good. My friends both had the wild boar and they loved their dishes. They have a nice wine list, we had a Cabernet franc from France. The deserts were awesome as well, love the sticky date cake. From start to finish, our meal was so enjoyable. The view is probably one of the best views on the lake. We all said we can't wait to come back here. Service also was really friendly and good. Wish this restaurant was in my SF hood.

Wilson B.

Yelp
For North Tahoe, nothing better and Christy Hill is a 5 star for the area. Wonderful Anniversary dinner seated along the glass. My wife enjoyed a glass of sparkle from France. We did appetizer and mains, all great. Me Scallops, my wife the Halibut. They treated desert for our Anniversary and we bought the kitchen a round. All in all the vibe was a good as the food. See you next time... A few nights before we hit their completely separate "sand bar" down below the restaurant itself.... Note: I am now reviewing Sand Bar not Christy Hill itself....Sand Bar is the dirt area below Christy Hill and is owned and operated by them. It's a great idea but just doesn't come off that well. Sorta water front / on the inland side of the water front path. Your feet will be in decomposed granite over hard ground so don't wear nice shoes. Live Music started well but one of the duo had to leave to work another spot. Actually I take that back, the music was pretty chill sorta jimmy buffet and alan Jackson getting drunk with Neil young We ordered three dishes: baby back sliders, panini and ceviche - all pretty meh. Panini was straight greasy. Ceviche literally had little taste to it so I don't know if it was good or not. Sliders should have been at least a little juicy but were on the dry side instead. Honest just go to bridge tender if you are trying to spend less than Christy Hill or river grille. Good spot to watch 4th of July fireworks just eat before you come.

Mary Ann M.

Yelp
We came here for 3 birthday celebrations. So much fun. The service was incredible! Seated at the window right away. Served some bubbles, and then incredible dishes... the halibut, salad, lamb. And then they brought the birthday girls the best pound cake. They could not do enough for us. We have been coming here for years and love it!!! Thank all y'all for another incredible memory!!

Vicky S.

Yelp
We had an amazing dinner at Christy Hill for my friend's birthday. I made an Open Table reservation date error but the manager Brooke made it work to fit us in anyway. The views of the lake are incredible. The food is outstanding. But what really made our experience great was the service. From our excellent server Ryan, (who was so gracious), to the bus staff; everyone was top notch.

Sabrina J.

Yelp
We had a fabulous night and will absolutely be returning. Brittany was our server and she did amazing. The staff is very well-versed in the menu and good pairing options with the wine. Every dish I tried was perfect, and the view of Lake Tahoe is breathtaking.

Kev M.

Yelp
Amazing lake view. Food was creative and felt modern. Some places up here have a very dated menu. Service was awesome and they had a fun outdoor bar

L B.

Yelp
We walked in on a fully booked evening. Lisa was incredibly gracious and kind. After speaking with the manager, we were given an excellent high top outside. Wonderful view with music. We had drinks at the bar while we waited with JB who was great. Our waiter, Aaron, was terrific with his recommendations and timing. The tasting menu and wine pairings were perfect for us.

Sarah J.

Yelp
gorgeous view next to the lake, fancy but cozy vibe on the inside, beautifully decorated, service was friendly - i would definitely recommend it! we got the chocolate croissant bread pudding with vanilla ice cream and it was DELICIOUS. would eat that again 10 times over.

Nick S.

Yelp
Great food with great service and a beautiful waterfront view of Lake Tahoe but also comes with a high price for all of that. So all of the above is great but comes with the high ticket price

Derek P.

Yelp
Been coming to Christy Hill for years, was always amazing view, great food, good service, in that order. Unfortunately, our last visit everything was off, except the view of Lake Tahoe - Beautiful! Service was extremely slow, when food arrived it was cold to Luke-warm. Difficult to get anyone's attention to get place settings. Even the bread pudding dessert, usually hot from the oven, was barely warm. This place is too pricey for poor service and luke-warm food. There are plenty of other places with a view and mediocre food on the lake. Hopefully they pay attention and make improvements.

Mark L.

Yelp
The views here were beautiful. There's nothing like looking at the lake while eating. Service was exceptional. It was the best service we had during our 4-day stay in Tahoe. For starters, we ordered the tuna crudo and milk bread with straciatella. Both were great. We also had the bread basket. There were 2 kinds of rolls similar to focaccia. The butter and olive oil mix added nice flavor. The olive oil tasted like olives. We had the lamb loin for our main. It was packed with flavor and spices. The lamb was lean. The chocolate croissant bread pudding was the bomb. It wasn't too ruch and didn't have any sweet sauces or toppings. I normally split desserts but not this time. I could have ate another. Overall a great place to eat.

Zainab S.

Yelp
A+ with regards to ambiance and location. We unfortunately couldn't be seated outside due to weather conditions but based on our view from the large bay window it would definitely be worthwhile. I'm not personally a vegetarian, but if you are there will be limited food options. I ordered a well done steak which could have been cooked a little more, as the middle portion was still a bit rare for my liking. The best part of the meal was the crème brûlée which was top notch.

Linda B.

Yelp
Excellent customer service from making the reservation with Christina to table service with Eric. Lovely ambiance, delicious food from start to finish. Such a great evening spending my birthday with my husband

Van N.

Yelp
Tahoe Baecation did not disappoint and we have Christy Hill to thank for that! I'm sure like many of my fellow yelpers do, we have to conduct diligent research before choosing a place to eat, especially when it is for a baecation. On top of that, I put in a couple extra hours of work because I wanted to find a special place for our anniversary dinner. There were many contenders but Christy Hill sold me when I saw that they had a hazelnut crunch bar on their dessert menu. Bae and I are hazelnut lovers! I was happy to see they accepted reservations and made one online. We easily found street parking as it was only 530pm on a Wednesday night but there were plenty of spaces inside the lot as well. Walking up to the restaurant with the shimmering lake in the backdrop definitely set the tone for the night. The tone can be encompassed with the following descriptor words: [Magical, breathtaking, stunning, gorgeous, and OOOOFFF.] Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and brought to our seats. Although we didn't get a direct window table, we were able to enjoy the views before other guests arrived. To start the night we ordered the Tahoe bread, hamachi tartare, and pan roasted gnocchi. Our server suggested for our bread and gnocchi to come out together and we are so glad he did! The hamachi was a refreshing way to wake up our palates to prepare for what was to come. We got a little egg porn action with the gnocchi and dipping the bread in the jus was [insert descriptor words here]. Definitely our favorite of the night! Next, we ordered the California black cod and the bistro steak, medium rare. As we were waiting for our entrees, another server brought out our silverware. As he was placing the steak knife on the table, it slipped from his hand and shot across the table and nearly hit bae's tummy! Amazingly enough, his reflex caught the knife before it caused any damage. What a nail biting introduction to the entree round for sure. My fish was cooked and tasted [insert descriptor words here]. Bae's steak was more on the medium to medium well side which was a bit of a bummer but he still finished everything! To end the night, we of course ordered the hazelnut crunch and the ice cream of the day, mushroom and maple. Wait what, mushroom? Yup, you read right. Though it was exciting to think about mushroom ice cream, we only picked up on the maple flavor. The hazelnut crunch was everything we dreamt of and it was a spectacular way to top the meal. And to our pleasant surprise, Christy Hill comped our dessert. We were very pleased and would definitely recommend this restaurant for any occasion even if it's not your anniversary! -Sailor out

Yelp
Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Overall: A good place in town to eat a smattering of flavors. The extended review... Food: Hamachi Tartare - 5/5 - A very refreshing mix of tastes that made for a very balanced dish. This one is a must. Lamb Loin - 4/5 - A very tender piece of meat with some great tasty puree to compliment the dish. Pork Belly - 5/5 - This was one of my favorite dishes of the night. The meat was tender and the sauce helped to give it just that kick you needed. The flavor of the dish made me want to lick the dish clean. Veal Sweetbreads - 3/5 - I think this dish needed just a little bit more. Pretty standard fare. Gnocchi with Duck - 3/5 - I was super excited for this dish. I think it could have used a bit more duck. English Toffee Cake - 3/5 - I have had my fair share of sticky toffee puddings and based upon the description I was thinking this would be similar. It wasn't quite as rich as I would have liked. Service: 4/5 - Friendly and attentive service. Ambiance: 4/5 - It's a cute restaurant situated right next to the lake.

Yelp
This place is horrible! Horrible service, horrible wine, horrible food. And you have to deal with disrespectful in-laws. No wonder it's dead. Stay away

Yelp
Wow! I've been to the restaurant around Christy Hill and not sure why it took so long to come here. My first visit was about a week ago. I was completely impressed. The service was great. Servers were attentive and host was really nice. The food. OMG! Everything was amazing. I had the pan roasted halibut. It was sooooo good. I practically licked the plate. Haha. Seriously the food was amazing and the views were also top notch !

Yelp
Ambience 5 star ..with the magnificent view of the lake , food is amazing .. get that kale salad with grilled butternut squash - perfect fall salad - it's delish by itself !! Cod a bit salty but was saved by the miso sauce and yam - turned out still good .. hubby loved the scallop with picked onion with risotto .. save room for desserts .. cannoli and chocolate torte tops the list .. it's worth the dinner price tag $$$

Yelp
We dined at Christy Hill for the first time last night. It was an amazing experience with great food, extensive wine list and fantastic view of Lake Tahoe. Hats off to executive Chef Luis and his friendly, efficient staff. They also have a cute food truck on their "Sand Bar" with great meals during afternoons and evenings. Last night there was live music. We highly recommend Christy Hill. We will be back.

Yelp
My wife and I went to Christy Hill to celebrate our first anniversary. We were looking for something a little bit special, with good ambiance, food, and a nice view of the lake. Christy Hill delivered in every aspect we were looking for. The service was great, and the food was excellent. The ambiance was perfect for our special occasion - the space is on the small side, but the layout felt spacious and the noise level was conversational. We ordered the hamachi crudo and focaccia for starters, and the scallops and the duck breast as mains. Everything was coursed out nicely, and they ended our meal with the chocolate croissant bread pudding. It was a really great experience and I'm glad we chose this restaurant for our special occasion.

Yelp
Food was alright, the lady serving us could have been a bit friendlier and they overcharged us $40

Yelp
Huge shoutout to Cristina who confirmed the reservations for my husband's birthday and his friends. She made sure they had the best seat in the house - view from the window. She even texted me to let me know that they did not have my husband's favorite wine (Caymus) - however, their sommelier, JB, said he could find something comparable. I really appreciated the communication from Cristina. The group loved the food and service. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Review for Sand Bar Sat down here on a Friday evening of a holiday weekend. Lovely atmosphere, great wine and pretty good food. The prices for the food in this casual atmosphere were actually insane though... 4 pieces of a bread with tomatoes and olive oil on it for over $20. I'd come back here, but just order wine and no food.

Yelp
A night to remember! We visited Christy Hill to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. The restaurant sits just a few feet above the shoreline of Lake Tahoe offering diners with a breathtaking view. The spectacular sunset and crystal clear water of beautiful Lake Tahoe can be enjoyed from every table. Christy Hill offers Modern American cuisine with refined Mediterranean influences. Dinner was outstanding featuring the freshest and finest seasonal ingredients and a wide array of wines and liquors. We will certainly remember our dinner at Christy Hill as a highlight of our summer. Highly recommended. A stop here will make any occasion memorable.

Yelp
Came in on a Friday night of a holiday weekend for dinner. We did not have a reservation. We put our name down and had a thirty minute wait for seating at the bar. The bar tender provided us with excellent service. Our food for the most part was spectacular! To start we split the poached pear salad. If was amazing! Followed up with the duck gnocchi with wild mushrooms. I don't recommend it. Here's why: the gnocchi was dense. And I didn't taste any mushrooms. The duck, and the au jus was really good and flavorful. But to me that didn't make up for the density of the gnocchi. Or the lack of flavor from the wild mushrooms. I was pondering if there even was mushrooms in this dish at all? We had an amazing half bottle of cab franc by Pride vineyards. Which was a 10/10 and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS WINE! For dessert we had a scoop of their chocolate ice cream and their toffee cake. Both of them were out of this world spectacular! I was tempted to lick the plates clean! I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Fabulous venue with great service. Pork belly was definitely the hit of the night and the pastas were scrumptious. The wines were perfect. The steak was a little under seasoned but very high quality. Overall, a wonderful evening!

Yelp
Had my birthday dinner here. Great service and delicious food! The chocolate croissant bread pudding was amazing.

Yelp
This is an exquisite gem in beautiful Lake Tahoe. Located in Tahoe City filled with cute shops, scenic trails and food everywhere, Christy Hill is a very sophisticated dining experience while keeping a friendly charm. The deck overlooks the lake but that's not its only asset. The menu reads delicious from appetizers to main entrees and even to the desserts. It was close friend's birthday and what a surprise when they brought out the bread pudding with a candle. We were actually going to order that dessert! The bread pudding was warm and tasty! We ordered the toffee cake; we agreed this was good but overly sweet. We skipped the 5 course and each ordered an entree - slow roasted duck / halibut / and scallops. The scallops were THE best and entire table agreed. We walked away with a big hole in the wallet but bellies mighty full!

Yelp
First time here! Seated outdoors on the deck. Perfect timing to enjoy the sunset sky over Lake Tahoe. Heaters well placed to keep warm as the evening air cooled. Nice menu options. I got the Wagyu Ribeye, cooked perfectly, tender and tasty. Wife got the scallops, also very nice. We shared the Brussel sprouts that were mostly cooked enough. Enjoyed wine with our dinner and view. Prices were very reasonable for such a beautiful lakeside restaurant. Attentive and friendly service. Our new favorite Tahoe City dining spot!

Yelp
The food was amazing, the service was wonderful as we had Carsten at the bar serving us. The owner, Alex was involved in the operation of the night. It was sold out and the place was running smooth. Fantastic experience.
