14 Stellar Steakhouses in South Florida

"This old-school Coral Gables steakhouse got a refresh recently but still serves up all the classic eats steakhouses are known for like grilled prime-aged steaks, stiff martinis, and indulgent sides, including a can't-miss Caesar salad. And save room for the Baked Alaska, prepared tableside — it's a spectacle." - Eater Staff

Christy’s Review - Coral Gables - Miami - The Infatuation

"Christy’s is a steakhouse that’s been around for over 40 years, although that gaudy artwork is newer. Dinner starts strong with a shrimp cocktail so big you could use the shrimp as boomerangs. And their caesar salad is famous for good reason, especially if you like anchovies. Aside from the ones in the dressing, the salad is topped with even more anchovies (so order those on the side if it’s not your thing). The toasted panko and ponzu give the tuna tartare a really pleasant texture and sweetness. And service is sincere, knowledgeable, and some of the best in the Gables. But the steaks are not. We’ve visited several times, and there’s always something wrong: when they’re not overcooked, they’re underseasoned. And it’s never a great thing when the steaks are the low point at a steakhouse. But Christy’s is an undeniable Miami classic, and people will always come for the very personal service. That’s why there always seem to be important client dinners happening here, and why it still has so many loyal regulars. " - Virginia Otazo

The 12 Classic Miami Restaurants | Eater Miami

"Coral Gables’ resident steakhouse has been in business since 1978. The restaurant got a revamp and new ownership in recent years, but guests can still enjoy a classic Christy’s experience they’ve known for decades. Kick the meal off with one of the best Caesar salads in Miami, before ordering a well-executed steak, and then end with the table side flambeed Baked Alaska. A martini or a vintage red from its expansive list complete the experience." - Stacy Moya

Christy's is timeless. We have been dining there since 1988. Although under new owners, the new owners are the same team who was managing it for the original owner. Including the Chef. Enjoy a classic dinner at a very classy restaurant. My favorite if the prime rib.

Google
Not as on the ball as they used to be. Still great service but is anybody checking whats coming out the kitchen? Lobster tails and rib both overcooked but still tasty and satisfying. Creepy paintings. Top notch champagne and baked Alaska service. And yet I will visit again. Like an old lover, you know what you are going to get.

We hadn't been to Christy's in over 10 years, I'm so thrilled we decided to try it out again! The food was delicious, so much flavor, and cooked perfectly. Our waitress was so sweet and the service was outstanding! The cost of our meal was great considering how crazy Miami restaurants have gotten with their prices. We will definitely be back again!

Google
not your typical miami steakhouse. it’s old-fashioned but i mean that in the best way! it’s been around since the 80s. my grandparents would go there on fancy dates and stuff. very nice inside (they remodeled like a decade ago) with an awesome waitstaff and amazing food. it really felt like an upscale experience and the delicious food solidified that

Sharon Minors-Fenton

Google
Chill, relaxed atmosphere! Food was good and cooked to our liking. The service was excellent from start to finish. That’s super rare in south Fl these days. Food was priced fair. Definitely worth the money spent. I absolutely recommend for a night out or a date night.

Google
This place has been located in Coral Gables from the 70s and is one of the first steakhouses in Coral Gables. It delivered an excellent meal wow and more while from the salad to the steak the amazing side and last but not least the most incredible baked Alaska Dan table side you won’t be disappointed with the show, that’s done table sign and the Caesar salad is one of the best ever and don’t forget try the wedge salad also with the blue cheese one of the best I’ve ever had so if you’re a steak and potato this is a nice white tablecloth restaurant that you won’t be disappointed and make sure you make reservations because they’re very busy if I could give more than five stars I would

Google
Always great food! From the tuna tartare..to the potato skins…lamb chops..filet..always a winner.. Although in the past some of the servers could have been better…this time Lewis (Louis) our server, was incredible! Cant wait to go back

Google
Christy’s is a very good traditional steak restaurant. The place is very nice, decor and music make an excellent environment. The Caesar salad and the French Onion Soup are excellent. The Filet Mignon and the New York Steak are very good. Our waitress was just good, did not know very much about how to offer the dishes or how to serve wine. Otherwise, was a nice girl. A place worth to come back.

Yelp
It's so interesting when a Restaurant opens and for years is the "go to" steak place in all of the Coral Gables area. Then, inexpliciably, it becomes mediocre. And then it becomes good again. That seems to be Christy's story. But truthfully, it's been "good again" for a few years, and they have clearly found their footing. The salads are big enough to consider sharing among four people. Cocktails are solid A server can often elevate the dining experience, as Andrea did with his. Ask for her. The steaks are cooked perfectly and taste wonderful; the prime rib garnered "oohs" and "ahhs." And there were raves about the lamb chops. A good old fashioned steakhouse. And that says a lot. Yelp
Heard that Christy's is a historic coral gables spot! It was decorated very nice with a dimly lit backdrop. The servers were friendly and relatively quick. We came here for a dinner presentation. We started with the potato skins. They needed some sort of topping like bacon bits or cheese, although the sour cream was tasty. They potatoes were also a little over done.. The caesar salad was pretty tasty with the perfect amount of dressing and delicious homemade croutons. Then i had the sea bass which was cooked perfect and tasty, but the spinach needed to be cooked a little more. Lastly the brownie with the caramel sauce was delicious but i wish it was a little larger.

Yelp
We used to love Christy's. Celebrated graduations, weddings, anniversaries. This was the first time we returned after the Pandemic and how sad and disappointed we were! We celebrated a birthday and had requested a round table for 8. We were placed in a long table at the end of a room that made it very uncomfortable for everyone to talk to each other. The elegant paintings that used to hang on the walls have been replaced by Minnie Mouse and a very ugly scary clown picture. Next, I ordered a Dirty Vodka Martini with blue cheese olives and when the drink was served it had no olives. When I asked, the olives for all the drinks had been placed in a glass at the other end of the table. Ugh! The complimentary bread was insignificant and not warmed. The French onion soup nothing like we remembered. Had no warm googly cheese coming down the sides of the bowl and nothing special. The Caesar salad with requested anchovies had but 2 anchovies and an overabundance of cheese and the lettuce warm. The Oysters Rockerfeller was a poor and worst example of what they should be. The recipe was void of Pernod liquor and the oysters with the cheese were not broiled on top but rather bland. We will not be returning.

Yelp
Overpriced and overrated. Heard about this place for years, finally went. Overall it was okay, but not for the price. To start, the bread was bitter. Not to judge a place by its bread, but usually a good indicator. The filet mignon was a disappointment: a bit dry and flavorless. Not sure why people hype their steaks? On the plus side, the Caesar salad, was good. My wife thought it was overdressed and a bit soggy, but I liked it. The potato skins were very good. The Mac N Cheese was meh, and the French fries were very good. I'd say the highlight was the Baked Alaska, which they ignited table side. Wouldn't go back.

Yelp
We enjoyed our family dinner at Christy's restaurant. Cucumber martini is refreshing and crisp. The lamb chops were so tasty and perfectly cooked. Bread pudding is to die for!!!!

Yelp
Was an exceptional experience, we really enjoyed it! Came through for my homie's birthday after a busy day of work bustling around downtown. Called ahead to ask about the dress code (which is business casual) and in true Miami Fashion pulled things out of the trunk and made it work - thank you Andrea for being kind and accommodating ;) Loved the decor and style of the restaurant, it had a 'Godfather' feel to it and the artwork was very nice. The red walls give it a dark, rich feel and it's one of the things I liked most about the place. Great place to cut a deal - there was a 10 person group of what looked to be business associates sitting near us and seemed to be enjoying themselves. Every single dish was phenomenal, here's the chow-down: - Tuna Tartare - 8oz Filet Mignon [Medium] - Herb Crusted Sea Bass (my dish) - Outer Banks Scallops - Cheeseburger - Long Meadow Ranch Sauvignon Blanc (my drinks) - Routestock Cabernet Sauvignon - White Chocolate Bread Pudding (!!!) Tuna tartare was very nice, the sauce was a great touch and I felt it made the dish come together. My sea bass was superb, one of the better seafood dishes I've had in a while! Juicy, lump portion and every slice I cut looked magical. Scallops and risotto blended really well together and also well portioned with 3 scallops. 8oz was well cooked and quite juicy as well. My friend's daughter got a chonk of a burger with a bed of fries and well, just look at that face lol. We didn't drink very much but both wines were great, definitely felt like a place to do wine instead of cocktails. Now, my friend and I were initially leaning towards the baked alaska for dessert, but our server told us not to sleep on the bread pudding and WOW we weren't disappointed! Delectable and not overly sweet, would absolutely do again. Special thanks to our server Yamilet, very sweet and did an excellent job, handled everything seamlessly. The birthday boy is hard to impress and he verbally said he loved it! Looking forward to coming again!

Yelp
The bar manager Norman, made a spectacular espresso martini. He explained the menu very well and created a welcoming environment regardless of having a seat at the bar. The server Luna was extremely sweet. I recommend sitting with her if you have a visit!

Yelp
Went back to Christys after a long hiatus. Had a reservation but made us wait in the vestibule for 15 minutes. Strange. Then were put in the empty Oak Room. Weird. Caesar salad was just as I remembered. Very good! Prime rib, lobster tails and brussel sprouts were first rate. Why is the service so bad? Had to refill our own wine. No water refill offered. Box our own food! Really? Good restaurants know and do better. Luna, that's why I left you a $20. Try harder.

Yelp
Institution is all I can say. Fresh Ceasar salad. Baked Alaska. Escargot. And pick any steak. You're welcome

Yelp
We ordered a variety of food options, however for the price point the food was less than stellar. To start we had the fried shrimp, Cesar salad, sautéed mushrooms and sautéed broccoli. The fried shrimp and mushrooms were very delicious, but the broccoli seemed like it was more steamed instead of sautéed (still very good just not what we were expecting) and the Cesar salad was just average. For our main meals, we got three different steaks and the herbed sea bass. The sea bass was very flaky and cut through like butter. I loved the sauce on the side, but the ratio of spinach was a little off. There ended up being a mountain of spinach the size of the fish on the plate. Overall a solid fish dish. The steaks however were all overcooked. Everyone at our table ordered medium rare, but we got one kind of medium rare, one medium, and one well done. Very surprising considering this is a high end steak house. But the sauce on the side was very delicious, and the steak was still decent. Finally we ordered the Baked Alaska. The table-side fire lighting and cutting was amazing. Super cool experience. Aside from the food, the service was absolutely top notch. Our waitress gave us some great recommendations and was very kind. We had a little toddler with us and she was very good with them, and overall just amazing. Plates were taken away very quickly, food was brought out quickly and all at the same time, and our water glasses were always full. The interior of the restaurant is a little dark, but filled with a good amount of covered tables and interesting art works. Overall this is a decent high-end steak house, and our over cooked steaks were most likely a fluke but still surprising nonetheless. A little pricy as well, but you seem to be paying for a higher service quality.

Yelp
Christy's wasn't quite what I expected. For some reason. Maybe it's the way it looks from the outside or it being a "classic steakhouse" that had me picturing a quiet, almost sleepy atmosphere, but walking in at 8pm was like stepping into a different place altogether than I had previously pictured. The place was bustling with energy, families filling tables, and laughter bouncing off the interesting art-filled walls. We had not made reservations (we didn't think we would need to - bad assumption), but the staff, was so kind they squeezed us in as soon as a table freed up. That early rush seemed to be the norm, because by mid-meal, the crowd thinned out. At places we have not tried before we really enjoy trying a few different things on the menu so we did just that. The crab cake, usually a dish that leaves me unimpressed, was a revelation. Lump crab, perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavor, held its own against the crisp, golden crust. Christy's Caesar salad, a twist on the classic, was another winner. The dressing, creamy and tangy, while the parmesan shavings added a satisfying salty punch and I cannot leave out their homemade croutons (whaaat?) so yummy. We shared the crimini mushroom appetizer, a dish that, while good, didn't quite hit the mark for me. The mushrooms themselves were meaty and flavorful, but the preparation felt a tad one-dimensional. Not a bad choice, but not a standout either. We also tried the tuna tartare, which, while interesting, wasn't quite our cup of tea. While the tuna was fresh and flavorful on its own the accompanying ponzu sauce didn't quite do it for us. It's definitely a unique take on the dish, but for our palates, it just wasn't it. The star of the show was undoubtedly the herb-crusted sea bass. I guess you can hardly ever go wrong with the sea bass. The delicate fish, cooked to flaky perfection, was enhanced by the fragrant herb crust, each bite was better than the last. Christy's exceeded expectations. The food was high-quality, the service attentive, and the atmosphere, despite my initial assumptions, was anything but sleepy. We left feeling happy, full, and already planning our next visit. This Coral Gables staple is definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Great experience with Dellus and his team. The food was good, as expected for this place. Ambiance was the problem; too many LOUD people. Not conducive to intimate conversation. Again, Dellus was an awesome Server in providing exactly what we wanted.

Jorge R.

Yelp
Had a solid dinner at Christy's but some things didn't impress. The lamb chops were okay, did not expect that style of preparation; like almost an asian glaze. Ribeye was great, and enjoyed the asparagus and the wedge salad. Great martinis and thank you to our server for being super attentive. Classic vibes and good ambiance.

Yelp
A classic and classy steakhouse with old school charm and offerings. Food: We had the chateaubriand for two with mushrooms and asparagus (off menu item for $140). The presentation was entertaining, and the filet mignon was simply perfect. Mushrooms included a mixture and were excellent. Very good asparagus. For dessert, the ten year old in me couldn't pass on the baked Alaska. The spectacle drew attention, and the flavor nearly equaled the outstanding presentation. Excellent! Drinks: Very good Manhattan Service: very good Ambiance: classy, upscale steakhouse Overall cleanliness: Excellent Bathroom cleanliness: average

Claudia V.

Yelp
Highly recommend the baked Alaska. Enjoyed the cocktails. The service and food were great.

Yelp
Went to Chris's last night, as I've done many times over the last 30 years. Frankiewas our server. Started with an old-fashioned and a shrimp cocktail. My wife had the filet mignon medium rare and I had the prime rib, medium rare with creamy horseradish. I must say I was with two other guests who had been there once before. All four of us agreed that this is the best steakhouse in Miami. We eat out a lot and had forgotten about this gem. When many restaurants try to impress you with atmosphere and fall short of food quality. Christy, is always dependable, with great ambience and consistent quality of food.

Ralph R.

Yelp
Very much to my surprise today I had a terrible experience at Christies restaurant. I went with my sister for our anual Thanksgiving meal . First we sat for while and after a long long time we asked for some bread, to be inforrmed that they did not have any bread because they had ran out .This was a reservation at 7:30, how is that even possible. We were later served our traditional Thanksgiving meal , consisting of turkey , dressing and sweet potato caserole. When I took my first bite of the turkey, I detected a distinctive taste that was not Turkey ... It turned out to be LIVER . When I asked the waitress she simply said "We cook our turkeys here and sometimes that happens" Not the response I was waiting to hear ... Thanksgiving has always been a tradition for us at Christies and I am sad so say that tradition ended today. The taste of that liver has not left my mouth.....

Yelp
Ambiance and lighting was nice and relaxing. Service was wonderful. We had the potato skins (ok), Caesar salad (amazing), filet mignon (excellent with the sauce), asparagus (awful), truffle Mac and cheese (4 out of 5) and the au gratin potatoes (decent). The dessert was incredible! Don't miss out on the white chocolate bread pudding. Nice place for a date night

Yelp
Service, ambience, and food was on point. Weight staff was extremely accommodating. If you're looking for a classic steakhouse experience in Miami, definitely recommend.

Yelp
One of the best meals I have ever indulged in. The steaks temperature was perfection and the sides were decadent. The watermelon martini tasted like real watermelon and was delicious! The artwork on the walls was extraordinary and for sale. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Yelp
Christy's is as great as it was back in the day! We are so happy to once again enjoy the flavors that kept us coming back again and again! The service and offerings are delicious!! The steaks are perfectly cooked and don't forget the Caesar salad that's creamy and chilled to perfection! Leave room for dessert... the baked Alaska is a table side delight! Make a reservation and brings your friends!!

Yelp
Christy's is one of the stalwarts in the gables. It harkens back to a time when the gables was the top fine dining destination in Miami. Back in the late 70s and 80s that meant upscale European decor, efficient service and a menu with tried and true items executed at a high level. After 42 years this place still has it. After COVID I thought it was over for Christy's but it is back with the same feel but with lighter colored red walls and fun modern paintings instead of the dark red and British hunting or horse scenes. The interior is still very upscale but with a fun modern feel. Just a great space for your business lunch as well as anniversary dinner The wine list is one page but they have a great selection and there are many very good wines in the $50-70 range. The menu is very much the same it's always been and that is good thing (a very good thing). What they do they do very well. To start the best Caesar salad in town but for me the best anywhere. Home made dressing and croutons, crisp and full of labor. It used to to be included with your meal but believe me you won't mind paying for it. We did not have them today but their escargot is epic. The complimentary bread is very good. They have great steaks but my favorite order here is the sea bass. A fluffy fresh fillet perfectly cooked and flavored served over an excellent cooked spinach. I know, fish in steak house but for years I have felt this is the best fish dish in miami. It's simplicity and perfection all at once. My friend had the grilled chicken, a dish I had never tried. I was blown away. For desert you must try the baked Alaska if nothing else for the presentation. Although the bread pudding is also out of this world. This has always been one of my favorite dining places in the 305. to see this fresh incarnation with the tried and true menu items just warms my heart.
google avatar

Lina F.

Yelp
I must say I was a bit skeptical about visiting this place since I only see the outside of it and it looks like it's been stuck in a time warp. I was, however, pleasantly surprised the inside has been redone and it's got a bunch of modern artwork yet it still looks the same as far as the tables and booths go they're just new. The food was as excellent as I remembered it. I will definitely be back with my husband.

Yelp
So sad to say that I went to one of my favorite steakhouses and had a bad experience. Something I thought never possible. Made a reservation an hour and half before by calling the restaurant. Was told great and came at the reserved time 830 . We were told to wait our table was ready and wait by the bar . Ordered some drinks but by 900 o clock I asked where was the table I reserved? Location was busy which is why you reserve. I was told we are waiting for one to clear. 10 or so minutes later a manager , I think , came to us and said if we wanted to eat in the party room . I know Christy's as I have been coming here for years, the Oak Room is a separate room away from the restaurant. I came w a reservation to enjoy the main dining the people the food not to eat alone! I can't believe he said this. I declined and asked what about my reservation? No answer . I said I'll pay for my drinks and even that was not at least taken care of . He said the manager let me get your check for you and brought to me ! There was not an apologetic bone in his body! We went to another venue that is most deserved of my business and w out a reservation and had a great time . End if an era for me after years no more Christy's.

Yelp
They made the food unseasoned if you have any allergies or preference of having something taken off the food, they can do it for you. The baked Alaska was awesome along with the white chocolate bread pudding also.
google avatar

Ethan T.

Yelp
We had a great experience at this restaurant in Coral Gables recently. Awesome service and really nice atmosphere. It was quite busy. We had the 10 ounce filet mignon, the 8 ounce filet mignon, the rack of lamb, and the New York strip. All meats were cooked to perfection and all quite tasty, and seasoned perfectly. We also had the wedge salad which was amazing as usual and I had the famous Caesar salad which is the best anywhere. Just a great experience and really friendly and awesome service.
google avatar

Colton E.

Yelp
It was cold and rainy outside but the warm ambiance of Christy's melted the poor weather away! The Steak and Service was exceptional!! Just might be the best prime rib I've had! Not to forget the wonderful Caesar Salad, Truffle Mac and Cheese and Baked Alaska for dessert!

Yelp
Very disappointed! Poor Service! food came out 25 minutes after everyone else's food. The restaurant manager did not care. He offered to box it up for me to take home. No class! In the past, this was my favorite restaurant. Never again. Stay away! No Stars for Christy's !

Terry P.

Yelp
After not going for many years because of a bad experience we decided to try again. This experience was no better. They do not have iced tea. Really? Asked for rib eye to be medium plus. Replied we don't do medium plus. Only medium or well done. Came out rare and was 50% fat. Definitely not prime meat as the prices reflect. Friends ordered a NY Strip. Was full of gristle and a terrible piece of meat. Told the server and reply was yes i see that but will be 30 min for a replacement. She went to tell manager and he would not even come by. Just told her to give us a dessert. This was our last time. Terrible experience.

Claudia S.

Yelp
We were looking forward to going back to Christys after 3-1/2 years since the beginning of the pandemic. From beginning to end, we were very disappointed with the service. We were a party of five but only four of us got our meals. The fifth person waited over a half an hour for his meal. When we complained to the maître d' he was very rude to us, and said he didn't care if we never came back. He actually offered to box up our meal and take it home! We went to the restaurant to eat together not bring it home and microwave a previously frozen Seabass ! Unfortunately, the service was so poor and the Manager was so rude, we will never return. There's too many other good choices in this city. They shouldn't be so over confident to piss off their clientele, especially in this declining economy!!

Chuck P.

Yelp
The food and service here are amazing. The flambe baked Alaska is amazing but the price will give you a nose bleed. I have never paid $56 for a dessert before but it was truly amazing. The filet was good but honestly a little dry. The potatoes au gratin were . very good. My son and his girlfriend loved the Miso Salmon. The Caesar salad is one of the best you will ever have.

Yelp
We had a reservation 2 days ago to celebrate my boyfriend's (belated) birthday. First of all, our server was not what we expected. He was...well...nice, but definitely NOT up to the standards of a fine dining restaurant establishment like Christy's. We didn't find him engaging at all. He was very much a 'bare minimum' server (although with the pressure of him standing over me when I was paying the bill, I tipped him 20%). We certainly weren't treated in the way we have been treated at other fine dining establishments. We had a little bit of a challenge selecting cocktails, but my boyfriend asked the waiter if the bartender could make a "White Russian" and he informed us that the bartender could make one. When the drink arrived, it was...well.....white. It looked like a glass of milk with a dash of mocha color. When my boyfriend tasted it, there was absolutely no Kahlúa flavor, so he very politely asked the server to please ask the bartender to perhaps give it another try and within 30 seconds, the server returned with a glass that had milk dripping down the side. When he tasted the drink, it still didn't taste like Kahlúa was added, but at that point, he just didn't want to make a big deal out of it. He drank about 1/3 of it and left the rest. I ordered the Lychee Martini and it was...well....fine. I drank half of it and left the rest. The oysters, the filet, mushrooms, asparagus and potatoes au gratin were all delicious. The bread pudding on the other hand was extremely dry. We didn't want to seem like complainers (as that is not our style), but the dessert was disappointing. I noted on the reservation that it was "the gentleman's birthday", but aside from a sparkler that died before he could make a wish, it didn't feel like Christy's was instrumental in enhancing our celebratory dinner. I think that had the server been more engaging and attentive, the cocktails been better and the bread pudding been moist, it would have been the dining experience we had come to expect from a $309 dinner.

Yelp
Amazing food, very cozy venue, excellent service and the owner Chris is super friendly. They have nice art in the walls and the place has elegance.
google avatar

Casey S.

Yelp
Ribeye was cooked to perfection; truffle mac and cheese was absolutely amazing. Girlfriend had the seared scallops with risotto and she was a big fan. Javier, our server, was exceptionally friendly and attentive. Christy's has been recommended to me for years, and I'm glad I finally made it there--great, intimate experience and you're supporting a local restaurant rather than a chain.
google avatar

Lior M.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant, good ambience and terrific food. We had the tuna tartare, jumbo shrimp, and potato skins to start, then Christy's famous caesar salad. For mains we had a prime rib and an 8 oz fillet, both cooked to perfection. We ordered asparagus, brussel sprouts and french fries as sides, we could have skipped the asparagus. Good service, good wine selection and overall a great dinner.

Yelp
This was our first venture since Christys reopened. It still had a traditional, dark and somewhat masculine vibe, but seemed a bit more updated and artsy. It was fairly crowded for a Thursday night. We ordered wine, bread, and some calamari and oysters Rockefeller to start. The oysters were sizzling and very good, and the calamari perfectly and lightly fried. I had the herb crusted sea bass (tasty and tender) that came with spinach, my friend had the miso salmon, and the guys ordered rib eye and filet mignon steaks. We also ordered potatoes au gratin, the sautéed broccoli, and sautéed cremini mushrooms. The only issue we had was that the very center of the potatoes were cold, but that was quickly rectified. We ended dinner with the baked Alaska. LOL, have had this many times, but only on cruise ships, and Christy's does it far superior. It's a little pricy, but worth it so don't miss it!

Gabrielle D.

Yelp
My mom treated my son and me to dinner here. It was a very delicious meal! We each had perfectly seasoned and cooked Prime Rib Steaks. We shared sides of roasted Brussel Sprouts and Grilled Asparagus as well as Fried Calamari. We also shared the Caesar's Salad which was topped with anchovies. My son had the Escargot in Garlic Butter Sauce served with Buttery Crostini. We had the Baked Alaska for dessert. We had a great time and enjoyed fantastic food in this restaurant with an eclectic collection of art on the walls including colorful portraits of Marilyn Monroe, George Washington, Albert Einstein and Kobe Bryant etc. Our waitress was Andrea and she was friendly, smiley and very accommodating and helpful! Thanks!

Yelp
We used to go to Christys for every special occasion. For whatever reason we hadn't been in probably 7-8 years. We have now gone 3 times over the last several weeks and I have to say it's better then before! All 3 times we have been there everything has been spot on! The food quality, taste, portions, value all have been excellent! Service has also been excellent! There hasn't been one thing that wasn't what you would expect when dining at such and iconic establishment. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
My friends took me here for my birthday this year. Everything was perfect. We ordered our drinks and the server give us plenty of time to sit and relax and talk without pushing us to order food and leave. After our drinks, we started with the potato skins, which were fancy and delicious. After that, my friends insisted that I get the chateaubriand. I am so glad that I did. The Château came with asparagus and mushrooms. Absolutely delicious. For dessert, we got the baked Alaska. Overall, an absolutely perfect meal and a perfect night.

Yelp
We went without reservations on a date night, but were accommodated quickly. Hostess were welcoming and suggested the bar. Drinks were great. One of the Gables local staples for quite some time now and maintains its charm. Ambiance is relaxed and although busy, the service was excellent and catered to every request promptly. Entire wait staff was friendly and did their job exceptionally. Food was a 10/10. Every single thing was outstanding!!! The oysters were the best we ever had! Ribeye was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately we did not have room for dessert this time but will be returning for it. We recommend this establishment and have shared our experience with everyone!!

Yelp
BEWARE- I booked a reservation on their website via RESY for my son's MBA Graduation dinner on Sept. 20 for a Dec.14 date. On Nov. 27 I was called by the restaurant to inform me that they were cancelling my reservation because they had booked a Wedding instead. Displaying a very cavalier attitude and not very sincere, the lady simply said sorry there is nothing they could do for me. No alternative or future accommodation was offered. I guess what matters to this owner is $$$$ and not sentiment. Extremely disappointed.

Yelp
A classic is always a classic. Christy's recent redo made the space more contemporary and fresh while retaining the classic elegance that has been the hallmark of this Coral Gables institution. The great service, atmosphere and fantastic steaks are perfect. Still the best Cesar salad in town... and the best ever iconic baked Alaska for desert. Happy to see that a favorite of a very long time is still at the top of the game!

Yelp
This has always been my grandfather's favorite place to celebrate anything. My husband and I were in town for my husband's fiftieth birthday, to take care of my grandfather, so decided to celebrate his birthday at Christy's. The service was nice, as was the atmosphere. I started with the caesar salad, and the three guys I was with all had the french onion soup. We also got and order of the potato skins. Everything was tasty. We were there early, so my husband got a huge, perfect according to him piece of prime rib. I had the sea bass. I have long held that I once had the most perfect piece of fish at the now closed Gotham Bar and Grill in New York, it was halibut. Well, this piece of sea bass was just as perfect, and now I will have to say I can't really decide if anyone asks me what the favorite dish I have ever had is. It was that good. The other guys got filets, grandpa couldn't even touch his because he was already full from his soup. We also got the au gratin potatoes and mushrooms. The meal was definitely worthy of a fiftieth birthday dinner. I would come here to celebrate anything. Sadly, we were all so full that we could not partake in the baked alaska that is the real reason that I think my grandpa has come back here all these years.

Yelp
A staple of Coral Gables for eons, yet we haven't dined there since before the pandemic. Saturday evening we so looked forward to recreating the many good dining experiences we've enjoyed there. We were fortunate to be seated in their small private dining room (capacity about 12-16). Initially is was an oasis of soft music and ease of conversation. Unfortunately a loud party arrived and the intimacy evaporated and we had to strain to hear one another; let alone the soft music. Our pre-dinner drinks were prepared perfectly - so much so we asked our waitress to compliment the bartender. We had the wedge and the Caesar salads: great. Our guests shared a full rack of lamb and we shared a 20 oz prime rib. The lamb was terrific. Perfectly cooked and the plate of lamb bones at the end of the meal spoke volumes that our guests loved their entree. We were sorely disappointed with the prime ribeye steak. We asked for it to be carved into slices when it was served. It was tasty, but even with sharp steak knives it was tough to slice. It was like sawing through gristle. There was the expected fat, but the meat was just not what we expected. We had leftovers! If this restaurant didn't have such a great reputation I would question if the steak was really USDA Prime. The potatoes au gratin were delicious. The Baked Alaska is not to be passed up on. Save room as it was unbelievable. With serious competition in Miami for the times I order steaks at fine dining venues, I won't be returning to Christies.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about this restaurant (hence the 3 stars - right in the middle). Lobster bisque and cesar salads were delicious. But the main course was so mediocre. My filet mignon was SO bland. I know you aren't supposed to marinate this cut of meat but I mean a little bit of seasoning or a sauce would have helped. I ate less than half of my steak and threw the rest away. Not sure if I would return.
