I was here in Soho, New York for vacation. Came across this Chubby Cattle soft opening and we went ahead and gave this location a try. Since I had been to the one in Las Vegas, and Rowland Heights already. We made the last minute rsvp the same day and it was on Tuesday and it was pretty packed. We walked to the restaurant from our hotel. You know Manhattan’s NY parking and driving can be crazy. We mostly walk, uber, train, subway. It’s more convenient that way. Our server Stephanie was phenomenal. She checked on us quite often. She went over the menu tiers and selections throughly. Overall, staffs were nice and friendly, food was good. Highly recommended. We made rsvp so we didn’t have to wait for a table.

All the beef is delicious! Samuel is very friendly and provides excellent service. We chose silver option and felt like it’s already worth it. They don't accept reservation for the party of 2, which I hope they did. Also we here on Saturday, we wait for like 5 mins since we here since the opening at 12 pm.

Incredible service! Our server TK made the the whole experience super easy, pleasant and really enjoyable. We got the diamond menu and it was absolutely worth every bit! Short rib and toro were delectable!

Shawn our server was great. He was very attentive and very informed about the menu. He knew his cuts of meat and his recommendations were spot on. But in all honestly all the staff was awesome from the host to the food runners. Exceptionally clean. Although I probably won’t do a membership it’s not because they were lacking…: it’s just that I would probably abuse it….. definitely will come back after the grand opening though.

Waited only for a good 20-30 mins. Our server was Sherry and she was very knowledgeable and helped us grill time to time. Two of us opened up a new membership with her ~ We already had a membership with Chubby and it helped us saved a bit. We went with the Diamond option since it was our first time and we wanted to try all the options. Time limit was 90 minutes but the servers let you know when time is almost up. They clean up the plates quickly!!!! Good side dishes options. Enjoyed the mushrooms, octopus w/ wasabi, and strawberry drink. Refreshing feel on the ice cream and egg tart! So good. Hope to come again!

Had an amazing experience at Chubby Cattle! Our server, Aaron, was attentive and friendly, which made the meal even better. The food was excellent—top-tier quality and so fresh. The atmosphere and music created such a relaxing vibe, it truly felt like being back in Japan. Highly recommend!

Really fantastic service and cleanliness for how many plates are coming and going from the table. Louie was our server and he was super helpful. He brought over house tea and veggies to pair with our meat. The whole staff is hustling around and taking care of multiple tables. Something awesome was we never had to ask to have our grill replaced. 3 times our server came over and timed the replacement before it was too burnt. The food tasted great I would have everything again!

Casual, upbeat all-you-can-eat for 90 minute Wagyu place in NYC. We went with the gold tier because it was our first time trying this resto and we wanted to try the Japanese Wagyu dishes that they had ( that wasn't part of the silver tier), like the Japanese Wagyu cut, nigiri Wagyu with uni and caviar. Our servers were nice and friendly and explained the menu to us. You order every 7 mins and it includes hot sides like gyoza, fried rice, tempura etc and cold sides like nigiri salmon and yellow tail and the like. Our meats came out nicely plated even as it is being an all you can eat, it leveled up the experience. Would come back!

In this age of social media and fomo, sometimes things get overhyped and fail to deliver on the buzz. Luckily, Chubby Cattle, while difficult to get a reservation at times, lived up to the hype. We came here on Thanksgiving weekend for dinner when all the transplants left the city. It was a bit difficult reserving a table otherwise. Anyway, we got the gold tier for dinner and while it was a bit pricey compared to other AYCE Asian BBQ joints, it was well worth it. The waygu beef we got was on point. The sushi we got was very good and quiet honestly on par with some Omakase places we have been to. The other cuts of meat we ordered were delicious too. The prepared foods like cheesy corn and ice cream and egg tarts were very good. The service was very attentive and quick. The decor was fairly modern. Overall, it was a good dining experience even with the heftier price tag. I would recommend this place and would come back.

I think this is the perfect place to share my review for Chubby Cattle... I got the Chubby One membership the second time I came, and now on my third visit I've officially upgraded to the Chubby Membership GOLD Hands down, this is the best AYCE spot ever--especially for AYCE WAGYU. The meat is always fresh, the sushi options are delicious, and honestly...I'm in love. Not a big sushi fan? No worries--they have amazing cooked appetizers with plenty of options. Plus, the miso soup bar, curry bar, and self-serve ice cream make it even better. This has officially become me and my boyfriend's monthly date spot *will take more pictures next time*

Chubby Cattle is a high end AYCE Japanese barbeque restaurant with quality cuts of beef. We were helped by Stephanie and manager Jayden- both have been very helpful and friendly. The cuts were beautifully marbleized with a melt in your mouth texture. Sushi, rice dishes, and soup are also included in the AYCE menu - nothing gets boring for the 90 mins you are alloted to order. Everything is so good!! Stop talking and keep ordering! They have a self service station for drinks, small appetizers, and dipping sauce. Drinks beside soda included milk tea and matcha. The coolest thing was the automatic rice dispenser. We loved their curry and beef stew station- top it with their half boiled egg and it's perfection. There was a cheese custard station as well that had a durian flavor! There are different tiered options - we went for gold and signed for the Chubby club plus membership. We want to try Mikiya and their other affiliated restaurants in the future with discounted pricing and birthday perks.

Came here for dinner with friends and we had such a good time! This AYCE Japanese BBQ spot offers not only a variety of wagyu meats but also sushi, appetizers, and even desserts and milk tea! Service here is pretty quick and very attentive. The interior is thoughtfully decorated and really reminds me of BBQ and drinking spots in Asia. We ordered a variety of meats and everything was delicious. I was pleasantly also surprised by how good their sushi and handrolls were--I could've eaten a dozen more if I had the stomach space. Their milk tea options were also delicious and I really enjoyed them. Would definitely come back here!

Really great dinner experience. This place is really busy. A lot of big parties so the wait is kinda long. Staffs were really friendly and attentive. We opt for the silver course which still offers a great selection one meats and appetizers. Ordering was very easy via the tablet at the table. You can order up to 10 things at once every 7 mins. They allow 1 hour of ordering but an hour and a half total meal time. We ordered to the very last minute. There are condiments, cold appetizers, drinks and dessert that are self serve. Food came relatively quickly after ordering. Most of the meats were pretty good with exception to some that are on the tougher and thicker side. Our favorite is still the brisket. Appetizers were pretty good. Some worth noting is the shrimp tempura and the hand rolls. Dessert was ok. They had cake, mochi, and egg tart. The mochi was very hard. Probably dried out in the fridge because it was uncovered. But the filling inside wasn't too bad.

I took my parents out to dinner here and showed up about 30 minutes early. Unfortunately, they don't seat you until the actual reservation time and there's no bar to grab a drink while you wait, which would've been nice. We went with the Gold Tier. It was plenty of food and definitely decent for the price. You get what you pay for though. The "A5" Miyazaki/Wagyu isn't the highest quality. Very thin slices and honestly not the best cuts. The star for my parents was the egg tart. Soft, creamy, and that flaky crust was a winner. A few dishes stood out for me too. The steamed egg was fluffy and comforting. The wagyu foie gras hand roll was delicious, but it's only one per person. You do most of the grilling yourself and drinks are self serve from a station that felt a bit chaotic. Overall, the experience was okay. I'm glad we tried it, but I don't think I'd rush back.

I really wanted to go to chubby cattle in NYC since I loved the chubby cattle location in LA. The meat and sushi were good, but I could tell there was a noticeable difference in quality compared to the LA location. I thought the LA location was well worth the price for AYCE food, but at the NYC location I would recommend trying it once only for the experience. Service was 10/10 though! We loved our waitress Kasey and she was incredibly friendly and nice. We appreciated her thoughtfulness in checking in with us to see if we needed anything.

If you're craving a real feast this place will hit the spot. I walked in to get on the wait list for 2 at 8:30pm on a Thursday. The table was available after 25 min. When greeted you are taken upstairs where it's very lively with house music playing in the background. There are many options on the menu but the staff were extra kind and attentive on guiding you through the ordering process. Over all, it was very satisfying- great quality and options!

It's finally here in NYC! I saw several of their locations out west on a recent trip to California but haven't had a chance to try any. After our first family visit and eating for 90 minutes, I left wondering whether the cattle or me will be chubbier after another visit or two. We opted to sign up as members and tried the Gold option this time. To be honest, the limited quantity grilled meat options from the Gold option were good but not too memorable, which had me thinking about just trying the Silver option next time as the regular part of the menu was satisfying and varied enough for me. Our server helped us with grilling the limited quantity cuts and the bonus dishes we got for signing up as members. The rest of the meat we handled ourselves. It was hard to decide a favorite as all the cuts of meat were fresh and well balanced. To avoid oversaturating our palate with mostly meat, we also ordered some sushi and handrolls, which were also nice and fresh. I also had two small bowls of white rice, which came out from a machine. It was not warm enough for my preference. With our meal, we also have access to miso soup, Japanese curry, appetizers, fruits, soda, two milk tea options, soft serve ice cream, and even a baked cheesy durian dessert. In addition, we could order some tom yum soup and kimchi hot pot from our screen. Although the focus is on the meat, there many additional options to build your own unique dining experience. The decor here is fun and transports you to Japan with its privacy booths with curtains. Our server was friendly and patient in explaining to us how to sign up as members and how to order from the touch screen menu. Now if you will excuse me, I will go on a weeklong veggie-centric diet now.

Chubby Cattle is such a great place to dine. I love how you order everything through a touch screen but there's also a self-serve bar that has unlimited drinks, milk tea, fruits, veggies, and desserts. Our server Ayuta was so attentive and so chill. He constantly checked up on us to make sure everything was all good. It certainly was. The meats were so tender and melted on our tongues. This place is definitely our go-to for Wagyu bbq!

After watching videos on YouTube of the chubby cattle in Vegas, I knew I had to try it when it opened in NYC. It did not disappoint!!! My party choose the Gold level and the meats were top notch. I'm a sucker for waygu brisket and I ordered a lot of that. I will say we just ordered and ordered all the meats available in our level and each one was tender and flavorful. The sauces they provided were a great match for the meats. Let's not forget about the sushi. I ate more than my share of the yellowtail sushi. I believe more than I was suppose too. Loved every mouthful. The curry and the wagyu beef by the rice dispenser was what I came for from all the videos I've seen and it didn't disappoint. The all you can drink soda, bubble tea, ice cream, cakes, rice, curry and waygu shredded beef made me soooo happy. The service was top notch. They were very helpful and attentive. The staff cleared any used and empty plates quickly. Food was brought out very fast. I can't wait to return. Love this place.

She's incredibly personable, sweet, and even joined in on our conversations in a way that felt natural and fun. Truly one of the best servers I've had anywhere. The food was just as good as I remembered: rich flavors, great cuts, and consistently satisfying dishes. The vibe is still that perfect mix of lively and cozy, making it easy to settle in and enjoy a long meal. Overall, this visit just confirmed why I love this place, great food, great energy, and genuinely amazing service. Angie deserves all the praise!

You can get off the C or E on spring street and just walk across the street from the train station. The waiting area is tiny. Most of their guest was waiting outside. The wait time is about 1hr-1hr30min. The tables seem to be for parties of 4-8 maybe more. The service here is on point. They explained everything to me. Foodwise I would say everything was amazing. The meat quality is a lot better than other ayce bbq spots. The server comes to help cook for you if you need help. I did the gold menu. Each person can pick from 1 a5 wagyu menu. We each had 2 special pieces and that was it for those. The rest on the menu is ayce. I suggest the wagyu roll. Its raw but theres a first for everything. Overall good experience. And would come again.

Great food, great experience. Standard chubby cattle. Exactly what I would expect. The food is standard to any chubby cattle. I have no complaints. It's mostly self service, they had the standard sides. Eric was very helpful. Eric changed our grill and was very responsive when we were looking for someone to assist us. Not sure the staff member, but the asian male with glasses on the first floot was helpful im explaining tbe menu anf turninv on the gtill. Stephanie with our server. It was pretty standard. We spoke to her like twice maybe three times since we only got the silver. Chill vibes. Great for a group meet up ot a date. The only thing that I did not like was that it was all on the second floor and it was very inconvenient to bring everything up and down the stair when you're sitting on the first floor. I feel like there has to be a better way to get stuff from upstairs. Maybe they could offer a tray for each group so that each individual does not need to make ten trips up and down the stairs to get some sides and a drink.

Really fun. Pretty good. The options and ambiance are great. The subscription packages are funny and weird. I had to psychoanalyze myself for almost subscribing to the Chubby Club One package. Lots of options and you get to cook that meat yourself which is ideal

We were unsuccessful getting reservations in LA so when we saw the Chubby Cattle in SoHo we had to make a reservation! The Chubby Cattle has been opened for 3 weeks. Made our reservations on the same day. We chose the middle Gold Tier. We started with the choices in the Gold Tier. A5 Miyazaki short ribs, A5 Miyazaki rib eye. The Wagyu Uni Caviar Nigiri was the star dish for me. All were delicious melt in your mouth quality. Shout out to Christine who explained everything to us first timers. She helped us order on the iPad and cooked for us the first round of special choices in the Gold Tier. You can order 10 items every 7 minutes. There is a limit of 90 minutes. Christine came by to let us know when we had 30 minutes left and ordered anything else that we wanted. Many choices in the all you can eat sides....I liked that they had lettuce and Kim chi so you can wrap your meat in it. The curry is also yummy. The meat is generous and so soft. Soft drinks, milk tea and desserts too. The decor makes you feel like you are in Japan. My advice is to be strategic!

This location has only been open for a few months, so I'd recommend making a reservation--though the vibe is super casual. They offer three tiers of all-you-can-eat meats; we went with the Silver tier. Ordering is done through a tablet at your table, with up to 10 items at a time, and the food comes out pretty quickly so you can start grilling right away. There's also a small buffet with sides--I really enjoyed the white radish and seaweed salad. They also had miso soup and a DIY dipping sauce station, which was a nice touch. Service was great--our waiter Sam was super friendly and checked in on us several times. Overall, it was a fun and tasty experience. Definitely worth checking out!

Have previously tried both Chubby Cattle and NikuX in Los Angeles, I was so excited to see a Chubby Cattle open in NYC. We did walk in for dinner for 2 people at 5PM, we arrived at 4:50 and were seated within 10 minutes. The staff was friendly, our waiter explained everything including the differences in menus. Everything is ordered either electronically on the screen at your table OR they have some options also available at a self service station. The restaurant is bright and clean, and made me feel like I was in Japan again. We opted for the silver tier, which still included plenty of meat options, as well as other dishes like sushi, soups, and other rice dishes. The meat was absolutely delicious, we enjoyed every cut that we had. The sushi was also pretty solid for a restaurant that prioritizes meat. Honestly, for the price, the quality was excellent, 90 minutes is plenty of time to eat your money's worth. My recommendation is to skip lunch that day to take full advantage of all their delicious options. Overall, will eat there again, and I am crossing my fingers for one to open in North Jersey!

High quality ingredients and AYCE experience! You can pick between 3 different tiers, with more variety with each higher priced tier. You can order items off a screen at your table and also walk up to the second floor to get things like vegetables, soft drinks, milk tea (!), miso soup, and ice cream. We had a limit of 10 items per order (with a party of 5) with a minimum of 7 minutes of wait time between orders, but this was enough time for us to get our fill. The milk tea was delicious and had a strong tea flavor, which I loved. Our server Samuel Kim was friendly, explained the experience well, and he and other servers were all helpful when we needed grill changes.

I've been to quite a few AYCE Japanese and Korean BBQ places and this one easily has to be my favorite. The different cuts of meat all were soo deliciously prepared and fresh. It arrived looking so appetizing. I also was a huge fan of the carpaccio. We went with the silver package and it was more than enough offerings to pick from. A great deal for the quality we got. They also had Mille crepe cake slices in the fridge for dessert. My fave! Also HUGE shoutout to Sam who made our night fantastic. He showed us how to get started and his personality was top notch. One of the best waiters I've had in a while!

This was my first time visiting Chubby Cattle in New York, though I've been to the one in Chicago before. I'd say the Chicago location was a bit better overall -- maybe because of the side variety in drinks and dessert, but the service here at this location was excellent. My server, Sherry, was incredibly sweet and made my birthday lunch feel special!

Wow!! Amazing AYCE! Probably the best AYCE place I've ever been to. The meat was so tender, and there a ton of options to choose from (even at the lowest tier). The skirt steak was def my fav; the Wagyu steak, top blade, & short rib were also up there. And, it's not just AYCE meats to grill - it also includes AYCE sushi, dumplings, various side dishes, etc. You can also help yourself to soda cans, milk teas, miso soup, desserts, and more. Our waitress Stephanie was the best! And, the ambiance was great. I definitely will be returning! :)

We did the Gold tier, which was the perfect choice. You're lucky if you get to be served by Ayuta! We signed up for the membership which basically pays for itself.

Our first time at chubby cattle - they had opened just a month prior. We chose the gold tier which included a selection of a a5 Wagyu menu item per person. Our personal favorite was the beef tongue platter. The foie gras nigiri was also amazing. Our server was sherry. She was super attentive and explained how the membership and menu worked in extreme detail. We had so many questions since it was our first time here but she was so patient and helpful. The store itself has a cute Japanese theme with lanterns and posters. I liked that the grill sucked in the smoke through the craters of the grill. 10/10! We signed up for the membership

My friend and I both got turbo diarrhea from here. Kept me up till 3 am on thanks giving. Diamond tier order. Not really sure where they got their a5 Miyazaki beef from but it didn't taste anywhere close to as good as what I had in Japan. As in the beef was moist, but it tasted more like watery beef and not the rich umami that I've come to expect from high quality Wagyu. Dunno where they got it from or how they handled it considering I got sick. Happy to see if they can prove their beef actually came from a Miyazaki prefecture farm. Still gave me major stomach aches though. Had really high hopes. What a letdown. Heard they remove scathing reviews too. Don't remove this one, Yelp.

Was so glad to hear Chubby Cattle was opening in NYC. Really amazing service by Samuel Kim. He kept stopping by to make sure we were fine. The food was delicious and came out so quickly. The curry was bomb. The rice dispenser itself was amazing. Good ambiance and it's not too loud.

It was our first time to dine-in at Chubby Cattle last Thursday, October 16 and it was amazing! The wagyus are unlimited and super tasty! They also have unlimited self-service station, sushi, seafood, signature dishes, and grilling foil to choose from. The ambiance stands out! It felt like you were in Japan for a sec. Thai and Christine were fantastic in walking us through the tier selection (beef/wagyu options) and with grilling service. Best of all, if you sign-up for their membership, you will get the best unlimited wagyu experience which is worth the buck! Highly recommended!

The server was nice. Food is alright. Too many restrictions, not truly ayce Wagyu. Even if you get the top Diamond tier (which I did), they limit you to 2 pieces of true A5. The rest is Australia but I feel like some of the meat was just choice grade meat. And for all my alcoholic friends, all they have is Sapporo right now.... No sake or any liquor at all.... Overall I had a good time grilling with friends. I doubt I will be going back.

First Off, Apart from the food being great, we had one of the best experience with Luna! she was so helpful and really went above and beyond with us. it was our friend's birthday and she surprised us with a cake. Also! we had some trouble with my membership because I left my other phon, but Luna made sure we were able to resolve it without having to redownload. especially regarding how busy it was, she still made time to pick up our plates and ask us how we're doing! definitely coming back here. ambiance was great too.
