Google
This was an absolute gem of a find! It seems so hard to find a stand out breakfast place but this place it is! The brioche breakfast sandwich was delicious and the corned beef skillet was perfect! The corned beef was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Can’t wait to come back and try some more foods!

Nice traditional place to enjoy a meal. Visited for breakfast as they open quite early. I took special salad, made fresh but toasts were either re-toasted or over toasted as they were burnt and felt not fresh to enjoy with salad. Overall, salad was nice with peas, juicy tomatoes - Charred Peas and Burrata Salad.

Was in town today to visit my sons. They suggested Chucks for breakfast. We arrived around 9:30am Sunday morning. We were seated immediately and our waitress Ada got our drink order and we had coffee and water in a matter of minutes. We ordered two skillets and blueberry pancakes. They were served in a timely manner as were the drink refills. Coffee got to half a cup and then it was full again. Never had to ask. Full disclosure, the pancakes did come out gooey in the center. Ada took one look and corrected the problem swiftly. The replacements were excellent. My Seoul Skillet was very tasty and cooked to perfection. I eat out a lot and to be perfectly honest with very few exceptions I have been discouraged by the service I’ve received when eating out over the last year. But today I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed with the service we received. Keep up the great work!

Google
you can find Chuck’s trading post off the main drag a little downhill in a residential part of 36th St. I went there With one thing in mind: a skillet. I was dead, stuck between two choices. The Seoul skillet with pork belly, mushrooms, and kimchi all over a bed of potato hash eggs or the farmers skillet with goat cheese, bacon, jam, and caramelized onions. neither a wrong choice so I asked the waitress to flip a coin and out came the Seoul. the Doing pork belly was beyond melt in your mouth. If the flavor didn’t linger, you would never even knew you bit into it. The dish was accented with a little kimchi and a perfectly soft and flavorful potato hash. I also enjoyed my nice little spot at the counter, watching the chefs turn out plate after plate of fabulous looking real country style breakfast. In other words, I will be back and that is a threat!

Google
I need to get away from the Avenue more often, this little tucked away gem of a breakfast joint is probably now my favorite place in Hampden. The Breakfast Skillets did not disappoint: hot, delicious, and made to order. Service was lovely and enjoyed chatting it up at the bar. Will definitely be by again!

Google
Chucks is my and my partner’s favorite restaurant in Baltimore!! For a while, we were regulars for their brunch (like 2+ times a week)… but recently we tried one of their pop-up dining nights where the theme was AAPI-fusion dishes — they were amaaazing. We tried a Steak Nigiri, Shrimp Spring Rolls, Gnocchi with Pork Belly, Thai Shrimp Omelette, and the desserts (soooo good) we’re Mango Sticky Rice and Matchamisu (matcha-flavored tiramisu)! Every now again you have to try something new and everything we tried blew our minds with how delicious it was. More recently, my partner and I ordered our usuals - him a Turkey BALT sandwich and me an “Even Better with Cheddar”. They’re truly the best breakfast sandwiches in the city and the price is really affordable for the quality you’re getting. We also tried their Pride Pancakes (strawberry pancakes with Marscapone) and they were so good, I will definitely be ordering them again. Last note: Chuck’s service is the best thing about them. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and cares about giving good service, which just makes the place that much more special. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for both locals who need a breakfast spot and visitors looking for the best breakfast they can get around!!

My husband and I came for breakfast yesterday to celebrate my birthday. We had an amazing time. Service was very quick and accommodating. I built my own skillet and had pork belly which was perfect and delicious. I enjoyed a Bloody Mary and espresso martini, which were perfect. We had a lovely time and are excited to come back soon.

I went to Chuck’s for the first time 5 years ago while visiting Baltimore from New Jersey. Since then I have been back 7 times. I try to stop as often as possible. It’s literally my favorite place on earth, the vibe, the food, and the service are amazing! Back at it again. Another great meal! 4.13.24

Yelp
A favorite coffee shop was closed on Tuesdays so we decided to keep walking on 36th to Chuck's. As others have written, this spot is off the beaten path. Arrived close to closing time so we ordered to-go. Rustic interior with mixed/outdoor seating and a home turned into a restaurant. A small refrigerated grocery section offering produce, milk, soft drinks and Beer. We ordered the Pimlico skillet-Confit mushrooms played nicely with the eggs and spinach, The Reuben-any time I see "house....." it's a good sign. House braised corned beef made for a tasty sandwich. The pancakes oh the pancakes-don't know and don't need to know what they put in the batter but these cakes stole the show. Homemade berry compote took it over the top but these cakes were fine alone- no syrup necessary-delicious. Service was friendly and engaged. They have weekly specials posted on their website. Hampden hidden gem is an understatement! We will be back!

Yelp
I don't know why it took me so long to make it to Chuck's. I had always heard great things about this spot which is located off the beaten path in Hampden. We came in for breakfast on my birthday which was on a Sunday. This spot is definitely very popular! We waited for about 20 minutes before we were seated which was no problem since we enjoyed some coffees while we waited. The inside is a classic diner set up with bar seating, dining room seating, and lots of to-go goods like wine, beer, liquor, and even produce. They also have outdoor seating on a covered porch. We sat outside and ordered skillets which come with eggs and hash browns and a variety of other toppings that you can either build yourself or select from a menu of enticing options. I had trouble deciding myself so I chose to build my own with bacon, tomato, red peppers, and onions. My boyfriend got the Spaniard skillet which comes with chorizo that he enjoyed. They also have a house hot sauce that was pretty good. In addition to the skillet, I ordered a side of cheesy grits which was one of the largest serving of grits I've ever seen and came loaded with so much cheese. It was delicious! On this particular day, food took a little while to come out and it seemed like others experienced long wait times as well. I'm sure it's just because their kitchen is small and it was so busy that day. Other than that, service was attentive and friendly. I will definitely be back to Chuck's for breakfast and to work remotely on their deck. I've also heard their burger night on Wednesday is great too.

Yelp
So. Good. Don't sleep in on Chuck's! We had some friends in town and needed a large table to fit our kids and friends for Saturday Brunch, and emailed the crew at Chuck's Trading Post 48 hours ahead of time or so. They were more than accommodating, and had the table ready to go when we arrived, and we were sadly like 10 minutes late (I hate that!). They were so attentive and good with the kids, it was really a great experience. The food was absolutely awesome. Creative dishes that you just don't see anywhere else! I had the Mush Mush adding Pork Belly. They should have called this the MUST Mush because it was so delicious, everyone needs to try it! Chuck's Trading Post has a divey almost western sort of vibe, and offers a variety of "bodega" -like items that it would seem neighbors could pop in and purchase. Speaking of neighbors, that was one of the most surprising things, having a 36th Street address in Hampden, you might expect to be on The Avenue fighting off hipsters and circling for parking, but Chuck's is a few blocks West of there, so you are safe and free to feel right at home. Highly recommend you check out Chuck's Trading Post!

Yelp
Honestly, we walked in expecting the full menu, but it looks like Wednesdays are burger nights! And it was absolutely delicious. I had the smash burger and my girl had El Chapo - both absolutely hit the spot. Burger + fries + beer for $15, you really can't go wrong here.

Yelp
This place was highly recommended by friends when we were driving through Baltimore. Loved this place. Large variety of boozy lattes, good beer selection, great food and lovely outdoor front porch seating. Our server was friendly and make good recommendations, including the fresh fruit side. My dog, husband, and I would recommend.

Yelp
I ordered a to-go order online and went to pick it up in the store. The shop has a very rustic decor to it. Makes you feel like an old wester saloon. For my food, I'll start off with saying the sandwich had an amazing flavor --- until I noticed little micro fibers of some sort on my sandwich bread. I have been noticing restaurants are using a utensil or cloth of some sort on their grill that leaves a residue behind on food. There are little strings if you look closely at your bread. If it's on the bread, then it's probably on everything else that gets cooked on the grill and we just can't see it This cannot be safe or healthy. I plan on bringing it to their attention, as I got my order to go.

Yelp
I love their burgers and beer selection! This is a cool little spot in hampden with street parking. They are usually only open for brunch but they have burger night one night a week They have burger and beer night on Wednesday and it's 15$ The service is great- they are efficient and the food is amazing. It's beautiful inside like a little rustic cottage vibe with a wall of wines. They also have a nice little porch with two tables.

Yelp
A local staple in Hamden for a good reason. Chuck is the place to go if you want good service, good food, good drinks, good coffee, and people who will remember you. Every time we come to Chuck's, it feels like we're stepping into Home. To make you feel special. Cozy and compact it truly does feel like you're coming to grandmas house.

Yelp
Chucks trading post just kept popping up on my yelp. Photos of beautiful burgers kept calling my name. I finally answered the call as I am currently on a quest to find the best burger in Baltimore City. I will say the website says burger night is on Wednesday between 3-7. However, it's actually from 5-8 when the restaurant reopens at 5. I didn't arrive until about 4:40 and it was a nice day so no problems with the wait. The staff was outside and were really nice about letting people know the restaurant didn't open until 5. It was not super crowded when we got there but the traffic picked up quickly. I ordered the smash burger which came with an order of fries and a beer. It was 15 bucks. You cannot beat that with an ugly stick. The burger did not disappoint. I would gladly go back and try another burger. The spot was chill and very low key. My kind of vibe. The service was great, the price was great, and the burger was great. What's not to love? I'll be back.

Yelp
Always amazing food and service. Very quaint always go for the smash burger and breakfast burrito can't forget the extra green sauce. My partner and I try to go at least once if not twice a month.

Yelp
Delicious and unique offerings to be found here. The wait was reasonable for a packed Sunday Brunch. The food was scrumptious. I had an eggs benedict with the shrimp subbed in for pork belly. The mush-mush and apple cider pancakes are also delightful. This little gem is located in the middle of a residential neighborhood. It is reminiscent of trading posts that can be found through the states. A little run down but the food is the star. I will be returning...often.

Yelp
A old town saloon meets made-to-order homestyle food - Chuck's is the best. They have the best mimosas, available in a variety of juices including passionfruit (I love passionfruit), and in either glasses or full pitchers with a ton of fresh fruit. They make amazing breakfast sandwiches, and often have great weekly specials. I always get the Greek yogurt with granola and fruit, and I tried their chicken noodle soup special. Both were delicious. Also, ALWAYS get the cornbread.

Yelp
First time here . Heard about this place via tick toc so I had to come try their smash burger . The place its self was cute ..definitely gives off a cozy diner vibe. The place was clean and not crowded at all . I was a little disappointed (but also impressed ) that they only served local brands of alcohol. When tryna come up with a substitute for not having grey goose, crown royal or henessey... our server went asked for help and another server was able to give the best recommendations doff the top of her head without thinking twice. I loved that . Our server raved about how the smash burger was and he was right . The burger was made fresh and was absolutely delicious especially once bacon was added. I was sad the burger didn't come with fries but the chips still got the job done . I wish the menu offered more but for the price I paid I can't complain. If ever in the area, I definitely would come back .

Yelp
A solid brunch place. The skillet and French toast were very good. Definitely didn't feel super healthy after finishing this, but it was good! I wouldn't get the cubano sandwich next time-rough and lacked flavor for me. Super cute interior though! Worth a try for brunch if you haven't been!

Yelp
Really enjoyed sitting in for brunch/lunch here after a long absence (mine, not theirs!) Had the Better with Cheddar egg on sourdough and a side of the potato mash and some green tea. The sourdough was a bit buttery and I would've preferred a muffin but it was perfectly tasty. (Looks like I could've had it on muffin but I was unfamiliar with their new menu.) Also, I had to do an informal work WebEx and the noise level and music, though cool, were not conducive to online earbud chatting. In addition, a lack of plug outlet was not ideal, as my laptop lost its juice. However, these are mere quibbles as the servers were quite friendly and efficient with my meal and needs. I'll be back, Jack!

Yelp
We saw Chucks featured in a local magazine for the best sandwiches in Baltimore. Stopped here on our quest in search of the Even Better With Cheddar. + interesting ambiance + sandwich was nicely made + good toppings +/- toasted bread was good, but almost too toasted so it was hard to bite +/- the sandwich was good, but I hardly remember any cheddar? +/- limited street parking - service was limited. 1 stop for drink/food order, 1 stop for food drop off, 1 stop for check - the condiments and accoutrements on the table could use a thorough wiping - 1 bathroom that was occupied almost the entirety of our visit
google avatar

Jasmine M.

Yelp
Solid brunch place! They have great options from skillets, pancakes, sandwiches, and other egg options! I got a pimlico skillet with goat cheese and then tried the sandwich my friend got! The sandwich was the beet/goat cheese one! These were both SO good! We got a side of pancake which was INCREDIBLE! The berry compote on top really made it. Easy to find parking around the area on the street, they have a small outdoor patio and indoor seating, not a ton, but all the tables were full on a Saturday morning with no one waiting. One thing is, we told them a couple times we were both vegetarian and somehow bacon ended up in the potatoes. It was frustrating, as we had made it clear to our server (who was also vegetarian). She completely understood tho and had some food remade and covered the potatoes that had the bacon, which we appreciated. They have good vegetarian options, I would just make it even more clear than we did.

Yelp
Chucks has character! And excellent food! And is kinda fun place to be-a regular suburban block with a house turned into a restaurant. Everyone else got "skillets" which were potatoes, onions and more baked into a skillet. They loved'em. I got bacon and grits. Grits were creamy, hot, and excellent! Coffee served in a large mug. More refills than needed but they wanted to please. This place is fun and will feed you well.

Yelp
Great chats over coffee and skillets. Air quality dangerous outside, Inside Chucks: safe haven. Pitcher of water kept friends Moist and hydrated, Friendly wait staff, Wide smiles, good smells. Hash under rancheros Recommended in the fullest. Stylish staff secrete Silly safe space.

Ian M.

Yelp
Great food Great service We had some of the skillets, they were great, the pork belly sandwich was notably good, the prices were very reasonable.
google avatar

Jack M.

Yelp
We ordered the shrimp and grits. And a breakfast skillet. The grits were smooth, creamy, and buttery. The shrimp was plump and juicy. All around this was salted well and tasty dish. The breakfast skillet has a well-executed egg with soft whites and oozy fresh yolk that cascaded over into soft greasy potato cubes with just enough exterior body and soft interior.

Yelp
Chuck's is one of our favorite spots. Their burger and beer night on Wednesday is a fantastic deal. Every burger is great but especially Smashburger! We've also been for brunch several times. I love their huevos rancheros! Also their cocktails are delicious!

Yelp
We just moved to the neighborhood, and we checked out Chuck's Trading Post for breakfast our first week. The restaurant is a little divey and a little smoky and definitely understated cool. And the food was simple but really good! The breakfast menu has breakfast sandwiches, hash skillets, pancakes, steak and eggs, a classic breakfast, and French toast. I had the Better with Cheddar (sourdough, cheddar, bacon, and a fried egg), and my husband had the Marco Pollo skillet (adobo chicken, jalapenos, corn, Pepperjack cheese, and potato hash). Both were good. We had their drip coffee, which was good as well. Their lunch and dinner menu has sandwiches, salads, and burgers. They also have a full bar and offer happy hour from 1-3pm Tuesday through Saturday. The restaurant is small, but they have some seating outside, a few tables inside, and a bar (we ate at the bar). While all the servers we spoke to were really nice, the service was a bit scattered (I think they were training new staff). We definitely had to ask to order and kind of wave to get more coffee. But the experience was still really great, and I'll definitely be back. Overall, the food was really good and I love the menu and the vibe. Cool place in Hampden that's not on the Avenue!
google avatar

Yelp
Wow, this is a hidden gem! It's tucked away from other restaurants and I had no idea it was there until a friend Recommended we go for breakfast. It's very interestingly themed for the area. They had indoor and outdoor seating, we sat outside and received great service. We went a Sunday morning, the service was fantastic, as soon as we ordered the food came out, literally in less than 5 minutes with our coffees and it was delicious and spiced nicely. They even have hot sauce on the tables that were the perfect amount of spice. Can't wait to come back here and try out other dishes!

Yelp
This place has been on my radar for years but I had never been until by chance my car got stuck behind some moving trucks, a block away, so I figured I might as well get breakfast. It's kind of tucked away so I think mostly only locals go here, but it's worth a trip no matter where you are in the city! When I walked in I was greeted by one of the cooks and sat down at the bar. Everyone was super friendly, even the other customers! Everything on the menu sounded bomb and I couldn't decide so the waitress helped me pick out what I wanted and let me customize it. I ended up going with the Seoul skillet but I added pickled Daikin and Gochu mayo...it was soooo good! The pork belly was perfectly charred, not gristly or chewy; the eggs were over easy and the yolks blended with the mayonnaise to make a delicious sauce; and the mayo itself was *chef's kiss* it was spicy and flavorful and did not taste or feel like mayonnaise. I loved that they let me customize my order like that! And the prices were very reasonable I thought. The portions were perfect! I can eat a fair amount and I hadn't eaten all day and had just come from the gym and this filled me up post workout. This might be my new guilty pleasure after the gym!

Yelp
I am writing this as I eat one of their amazing breakfast sandwiches. There's a few different places to go for breakfast/lunch in Baltimore, and this is one of my favorites. Good food, good service, no frills, kind of place with great prices. I love the open kitchen concept and the homey vibes. If you're looking for a solid food option that won't break the bank, I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience here. The only downside actually had nothing to do with actual restaurant. The parking situation. It's on a residential street which is probably fine on a regular Sunday. But yesterday there was a neighborhood parade and parking was extremely limited. Ok now to the good stuff..the inside of the restaurant was cozy and we were greeted immediately upon entering asked if we wanted table or bar seating. We chose table and were escorted to back. Everything was clean and spaced out enough that our conversation could still be private. The only issue with being back there was the gnats but I'm guessing it was because we were seated near the open stored veggies like onions and such. Now the food was absolutely delicious and prepared fresh yet fast. I mixed up the closing time and didn't realize they closed at 3pm. But my good friend and I were so engrossed in conversation that we were the last customers still seated. The staff kindly let us pay and still sit for a few which I thought was very considerate. Service was excellent and offered great recommendations. I will definitely be back and will carpool just in case lol.

Love Luxe S.

Yelp
Man I really wanted to love it...but buyers beware. Spent 30 min waiting for a table, 45 for our food (a sandwich & 2x grits)..15m for the waitress to bring a check. Never came by to ask if we wanted anything (we planned to have a few champagne bottles but never had the chance)..coffee watered down, grits were chunky and flavorless. Grits weirdly w kimchi that made it even worse.

Yelp
OK so who knew where this place was? It is the definition of a hidden gem. And I do mean hidden because I passed it twice (thanks for the help google maps) Anyhoo when I got there the I appreciated all the precautions. I ordered from a window, dirty and clean pen options, they had hand sanitizer at the front door and not a lot of people milling about so already im good. I got the angus burger and a side of potatoes. The potatoes were crispy and flavorful the burger was cooker perfectly and everything worked. Worked so well that I went back the next day and ordered the same thing again. I think the test of any restaurant is how well you can cook something simple and a burger is simple but so easy to mess up. Chucks Trading post knocked it out the park with this burger and I have no doubt that the rest of the food will be the same I cannot wait to go back and try more of what they have to offer.

Yelp
CTP is a cute establishment in the heart of Hampden! It's literally in the middle of the blackcaps and I missed it driving past. Very quaint and neighborly. Everybody knows your name, when you're a local or food deliverer who frequent the establishment. From the outside, I didn't know what to expect in the inside. As you're walking up to the door you will be experiencing a roller coaster of aromas coming from this place. Once inside you literally see everything this place has to offer. You are literally standing in the kitchen, dining room, bar, and market. They also have counter seating so you can see all the "secrets" the chefs have to offer; which I love. The staff were knowledgeable, patient, and courteous. Even with the popularity of CTP and all the hustle and bustle you could see-you didn't feel it as a patron dining in; which I truly value. They didn't make their stuff, your stuff-if you know what I mean ;-) Nonetheless, my first time visiting was 11/30/21 and I loved it so much I was right back for brunch with a friend on 12/1/21. The first day I ordered the Shrimp and Grits special with a passion fruit mimosa. I HIGHLY recommend this dish and they should really consider keeping it as a menu staple. They grits were PERFECTLY creamy. The shrimp PERFECTLY cooked. The vegetables FRESH. The gravy, perfectly seasoned and not heavy or spicy-if you're a shrimp and grits fan you know what I'm talking about. The next day my friend and I decided on a mimosa pitcher, the bottoms up ladies (with Turkey bacon), and the grilled cheese with tomato soup. Since we only purchased breakfast sandwiches, I feel like there's nothing special to say about cheese, eggs, or bacon. So, not much to add there. Everything comes out hot and fresh. I'm sure this place gets busy and packed during the weekends, so plan accordingly especially in the winter months when outside seating may not be ideal. I went during the day and during the week, so I didn't have an issue with seating. There's only about 8 table inside the establishment, but again they do have bar seating and kitchen counter seating. I will definitely be visiting again soon. Cheers to a great time!

Yelp
To be honest, my first experience at Chuck's wasn't the best but they certainly made up for it! I had called in an order of the Smashburger with a sunny side up egg for a friend and an angus burger for myself. My meal came with a side of chips and my friend had a side of hash. Food came out hot and the sizes of our burgers were ginormous--a lot larger than I anticipated. The location is truly unique as it's literally located right in the middle of a neighborhood. Prices are fair and they have a great option of beverages to choose from. Would definitely revisit whenever I'm in the area again.

Yelp
I chose Chucks Trading Post to cater my Memorial Day Weekend Birthday/Engagement party. Owner Tracey was a joy to work with. She was responsive, able to accommodate all of my requests/dietary restrictions, and even offered options that weren't on their standard catering menu. The food was available for pick-up exactly on time (even though it was a busy Sunday at peak brunch time) and Chucks provided everything I needed. I've enjoyed all my visits to Chucks for breakfasts, brunches, and burger nights - but I will definitely keep them in mind for any future catering needs. Thanks again Tracey + team!

Yelp
It's taken me ages to get for some reason but I'll for sure be back again so I can work my way through the entire menu. I opted for Val's Rancheros skillet with a side of cheesy grits, side of fruit, and coffee. The coffee was meh, to be honest, but everything else was great. The rancheros skillet was a decent sized portion, especially considering the reasonable prices. I will note that I was surprised that the black bean salsa was really all beans with a couple of diced tomatoes; it all tasted good but not quite what I was thinking when I read salsa. I forgot to take a pic of the grits but it arrived in a mini cast iron pot and were so good - these are definitely a must when you visit. The staff were super friendly and attentive, which always makes for a better experience. I think they were doing a decent takeout business because it take a good 20 mins or so for the food to arrive despite a less than half full restaurant at the time - it is what it is and now you know so you can set your expectations appropriately when you come here. All in all, great local spot to support and make sure to get the grits.

Yelp
I absolutely love it here, the vibe is amazing and th4 staff friendly. Hot sauces on every table for those who love it. Bottle of hand sanitizer as well for every moment. Pancakes so fluffy, bacon so good. Next is the french toast and some soup. It's getting cold and colder. Time for coffee tea and soup. I will be back.

Yelp
Rodent infested, hair filled, and overrated. If you are looking for a sanitary meal, I suggest you look elsewhere. After being ignored by the hostess for multiple minutes, we were finally seated at the counter, where we were then ignored by the chatting waitress behind the bar. During our wait we saw a large rodent scurry up the wall to the ceiling behind the bar just over where all the food is kept and cooked. But at this point, we had already been there for 30 min so we stuck it out. When the food finally came after about 45 min for a breakfast burrito and two little pieces of dry french toast, we found a hair in each of our meals, and God knows how many we didn't find. Let's just pray it's not a rat hair from the little rodent guest. I also ordered a side of the cheesy grits, which are just regular grits with cold, shredded mexican cheese on top. Little did my vegetarian self know, the grits literally tasted like biting into a piece of chicken. They should mention in the description of the sides that they are made with chicken stock because that was actually the only flavor the grits had all. French toast was meh. It was cold and pretty dry and barley any fruit on it. Never coming back

Yelp
The coffee served is a good blend, not bitter but pretty flavorful. I accidentally took a sip without adding cream or sweetener. Usually, I detest black coffee, but shocker - this black coffee was smooth and stimulating and no terrible after taste! It was even better of course when I added the cream and sweetener. The Power House Salad was delish! Fresh beets, organic greens, yummy authentic cheeses, carrot slithers, and homemade dressing! The bacon and egg combo was acceptable. My daughter ordered it for me not knowing that I don't really do bacon much any more - though this bacon tasted good and was not too crispy nor fatty. So -- long story short - our dog ate really really well today lol lol lol Good job though, Chuck's! Good, sizable, well-presented dishes!

Yelp
Extremely slow service. We get there at 1:45 and wait 20 minutes for seating. The waiter never brings us out drinks or any water till about another twenty minutes ago by. Our guest didn't even get his meal. All he ordered was yogurt and then our guests leave with no food. My other guest ordered tea and that never arrived. We were catching up talking and we sit there from 2:00-3:00 and our food hasn't arrived. 3:00 comes around and our waiter says 6 or 7 more minutes. My friend ordered the redneck skillet. The pancake she ordered was pitch black underneath I don't know. If you wouldn't eat a burned out pancake what makes you think your customers would? The organization and management of this place seemed non existent and like everyone was running around with their heads cut off. No real "I'm sorry, or sorry we had a bad day" would have been nice. Don't know if I'd be back our main entre was nice though.

Yelp
We had a group of 9 people for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We're aware that this is a small place and that we didn't have reservations. We were more than understanding, respectful, and willing to wait about 30 minutes for a table. Once we were sat however, the service was absolutely terrible. Reservation or not, we were confused as to why it took almost an hr for pancakes and breakfast skillets that mostly contained eggs, potatoes and some sort of protein. Even our drinks took forever. What was even more frustrating was the fact that we kept seeing food being delivered to smaller tables that sat down way after us. Most of our food was warm at best. When I sent mine back the waitress said most of the ingredients in my huevos rancheros skillet were meant to be cold. Not sure eggs and potatoes should be cold, and after how long we waited for our food I wasn't too happy with what I received. While annoyed, we generally didn't complain. But Upon paying, another staff member "kindly" reminded us that we could have made reservations since we had more than 6 people. We took that as a big F you. It was clear they weren't happy to serve us, and I don't think many others would have been as polite as we were for how we were treated.

Yelp
Fun, rustic and eclectic vibe at breakfast. Coffee was great. Best damn bacon. Breakfast sandwich was tasty and the English muffin it was served on was unique. I'll try there again for lunch.

Yelp
This place was a lovely brunch establishment. Pros: Food was delicious. Atmosphere was old-western, with a homey feel. Open kitchen, and the owner herself cooks the food! (This is what I thinks sets this apart. You can tell she cares about the food. :,) ) I ordered the mimosa bar (3 mimosas with 10 varieties of juice!) ($13) and the Seoul skillet- hold the mushrooms, sub tomatoes. Was delicious and came in a cast iron skillet. Service was friendly. Cons: I had pork belly and it was just really fatty. I know this is the nature of pork belly, but I think cutting it up a little more as opposed to a lump, would help the dish. Then when it's cooked there's a nice fatty crispy bite. (I had a piece that was small and it developed a crisp delectable bite- if this was the whole dish it would be dy-no-mite) Overall I'd go here again. When you go, you will feel like you've gone the wrong way. Just trust yourself. It's at the end of a dead end. 86% is my rating

Yelp
I would not recommend eating here unless you want to be dealt with by rude staff, disorganized service, and poor communication. We arrived Sunday morning and walked inside. There was no obvious hostess stand and no one at the front. We stood around for 5 minutes until I asked a waitress passing by and she went and grabbed the hostess. We asked for a table for 2 outdoors, and the hostess immediately left us to go bring out food. She walked past us multiple times without saying a single word over the next 10 minutes- we were confused as to what was going on until she appeared again and told us our table was outside and pointed out the door. We walked outside on our own, found and sat down at the only open table on our own. For 15 minutes, we sat (unattended, having never been addressed by any of the waitstaff) with an empty table (no menus, signage, QR code etc). We resorted to looking up the menu on Yelp on our own. When the waiter showed up, they asked us if we were ready to order- how could we with no menu? We asked for menus and an approximate estimate for how long the food would take to come out. The waiter rudely remarked "I don't know. However long it takes to turn over. You don't seem relaxed enough to be able to wait." I sympathize with the staffing shortages in most restaurants but there is no excuse for our experience today. 30 minutes after arriving, we left without ever having received anything, including a glass of water. We didn't want to be subject to this type of behavior the rest of our visit.

Yelp
To each their own but I didn't find the 45 minute wait and then another 45 minutes to get out food once ordered warranted more than 2 stars. Went for breakfast on a Sunday morning, I understand it's going to be busy and didn't mind the wait to get our table but thought once we ordered we would not be waiting another 45 minutes to get our luke warm skillets. Hoping the taste would make up for such a long wait, I was unfortunately disappointed. Was the food bad? No.. but after the wait I thought it should taste like more than a $3 Friendly's special. Well.. I gave it a try but now I know. The server was nice and friendly just very slow and disorganized.

Yelp
A real hidden gem if you ask me. Off the beaten path, but not unknown to locals. I've been in Baltimore for years, and I recently heard about this place. Friends and I went for brunch on a Sunday and it was bumpin!! We got all the drinks...you know what I'm talking about, one for hydration, one for caffeine, and one to help our hangover. All delicious. I also started with some cheesy grits, which were better than the ones I just got in South Carolina. I had a hard time deciding on food because I wanted one of everything. I will be back, I gotta try some other items! This could be my new favorite place!

Yelp
Today was my first visit to Chuck's Trading Post in Hampden. I had planned ahead, scanning their menu online to I could sit down and get right to business! They have a temperature check when you enter as well as outside seating (about 3 tables) out front. I sat inside (no other customers were there) at the bar. I had a drink in hand I brought in and went ahead and ordered. My server got my order correct but forgot my dressing on the side originally. Easy fix, just mentioned something to him. I ordered the Southwest Shrimp Salad, which has blacked shrimp (5 I believe), mixed greens, tomato, corn (interestingly didn't see on my salad), black beans, avocado, shredded cheese, and chipotle ranch dressing (which I ordered on the side). The food didn't take long to come out, so that was good. The blackening spice they used was either of a lighter variety or they just didn't go too heavy handed (which is what I'm used to). That being said, the flavor was good, shrimp were done well. The dressing paired perfectly with the southwest ingredients and didn't overpower the salad. One gripe I had was the used a small wooden chopping bowl to present the salad. For the price, it was a good portion; I just wish the presentation was a bit better. Every time I stuck my fork in, some of the salad overflowed onto my napkin. In my personal opinion, either a larger bowl or plate may solve that issue. I don't believe the server came over to check on me after the food was served, and that may have been a result of having to do a lot himself. That sort of thing cannot be overlooked. While the server was helpful in getting what I needed, and put my order in correctly, he seemed to be running around (the only front of house staff-person). I get with Covid, that staff is cut back; but it seemed like he would have benefitted from having another person there. To be honest, I didn't even realize the corn wasn't in my salad. While unfortunate, there may have been a reason. I will give Chuck's Trading Post 3.5 stars. Very solid food, and I DO want to try more of the menu. What happened today may have been somewhat of an isolated incident--but I am willing to revisit in the future.

Yelp
These mf burgers slap! Like think of all the best burgers in Baltimore and why you love them and then add Chuck's to the list. I had been eyeing Chuck's for a minute, but hadn't made it over yet. It's off the beaten path in Hampden on the was down towards the mills. The first time I ordered was with the Yelp perk. They actually got my order wrong (I ordered a different burger than what I received), but it was SO good I totally forgot by the last bite. After that I was hooked. On Wednesdays we order burgers! From 3-7pm on Wednesday you can order a one of several signature burgers with fries and a beer or cider. Its a great deal considering the burgers are high quality beef, well seasoned, perfectly cooked every time (mid-rare or medium for me), toasty bun, thick hand cut fries, AND a can of alcohol! I mean . . . what are you waiting for? Check it out!

Yelp
A popular place with a fun menu which gets busy with locals, especially on the weekends. We had about an hour wait for a party of 4, and then sat outside in the warm weather which was nice. They don't take reservations so make sure to get there early. The fun beverages were appreciated - the choco-banana iced boozy latte was good, just a tad too strong for my preference. Vegetarian friendly: he waiter was really nice and allowed me to substitute tofu for bacon on the Better With Cheddar, which was a delicious breakfast sandwich. For mushroom fans we highly recommend the "Mush Mush". The ambiance is quirky and home-y and the service is good. We did have a few small mistakes in our order, such as a side of pork belly being brought out instead of a side of pancakes, but the servers were quick to correct any mistakes and friendly. Definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
Love this cute little house turned restaurant. It's small but there was plenty of seating. Ordered mimosas and the Greek yogurt parfait. Everything was delicious. My food came in about 10 mins. Everyone was pleasant and very accommodating
