CHUN is a truly wonderful spot with a great atmosphere and incredibly good food. Honestly, it serves one of the best toasties I’ve ever had in Amsterdam — flavorful, perfectly made, and absolutely worth trying.
We ordered the ribeye and shrimp toastie, and it was absolutely delicious. The combination was rich, tasty, and cooked perfectly — easily one of the best sandwiches we had during our time in the city.
That said, there’s one huge downside: the queue. When we first arrived, the waiting time was around an hour and a half, which felt completely unreasonable just to get a toast. We decided to leave and come back closer to closing time. Luckily, during the last ten minutes before closing, they welcomed us in right away and prepared our toast immediately.
Thanks to that second attempt, we were able to enjoy the food without any waiting time, and it was genuinely amazing. The experience ended on a high note, but standing in line for 90 minutes for a sandwich simply isn’t worth it.
Overall, CHUN is fantastic for the quality of its food and the vibe — just try to go at quieter times if you can.
