"After briefly closing in May, Church & State has reopened in the Arts District with the same name, but new ownership and a new menu. One of the original big-deal restaurants in the neighborhood, Church & State doesn’t quite have the same interesting, high-quality French food as it used to. Things are a bit more affordable than they were, but both the menu and the food on it are rather bland. The service is good, the cocktails are great, and there’s a fantastic steak with blackberries and bone marrow - but given the choice between this place and other nearby restaurants, we’ll take the others." - Brett Keating

Unique shopping mall in Salt Lake. I liked it. Only three of the shops were open when we git there. But I'm sure when it's fully functional it's a really cool art, bohemian collective. A nice place to just chill, hang out and get away from the downtown traffic.

Love the markets here. The open structure makes it airy and it’s just beautiful! The permanent rock shop is amazing too.

Concerts held here get violent when pits open up and there is no staff to control crowds or security. My son whom Is a minor went to show with his father and got hit in the face by some jerk. A fight broke out and people in the crowd had to break it up to kick people out. It is irresponsible of the venue and booking agents to hold events for ALL AGES if you are going to let part of the crowd assault the rest of the people that are there to just watch the show. Honestly just irresponsible to not have security at a concert even if the bands are local. Luckily, my son’s punch to the face resulted in only slightly broken glasses, cause I’d be filing a police report.

This beautiful building is home to Psychedelic Rocks, where its beautiful proprietor sponsors vendors, like me. Hosting the Rocky Mountain Gem Show every three months, as well as other amazing shows over the year.

This establishment should be ashamed. My husband is a huge metal fan and frequents many metal concerts around the salt lake valley. He attempted to attend the Bleeding Through concert with our 18 year old son (all ages concert). He is a long time fan and this was the first time seing them live since 2009. He was literally jumped by the crowd and bloodied before Bleeding Through even came on. There was no security or crowd control and it was complete mayhem. My boys had no choice but to leave the venue for their own safety after speaking with local police. This is completely unacceptable in the metal scene or in SLC at all. Please be warned if you are attending any sort of concert event here.

This was my first time at an event like this and it was MAGICAL!!! The musicians did such a great job with making the music both new and still familiar. We saw the Pink Floyd show and the performance was so great!!! I will definitely be back again.

Yelp
I had a chance to attend a Halloween party in this place. It's perfect for entertaining intimate get-together or a small wedding.

Yelp
This place is so cool! The food at this event was fantastic. They do such a great job at creating a space that is inviting and trendy!

Yelp
Impeccable vibes in an unforgettable space. All the little shops are super unique and the vegan baerky is top notch!

Yelp
I attended a wedding here and the venue was so idyllic. Sam and her team were helpful when it came time to flip the room between the ceremony and reception, set up extra tables and decor for cocktail hour, and overall making sure everything ran smoothly with all guests leaving happy (and a little tipsy lol). I couldn't recommend a better romantic venue at such a great cost.

Yelp
We had a birthday party here and it was an absolute smash! Sam, the event director, was SO helpful. Seriously a life saver. We had so many questions and pivots and she answered everything so quickly and calmed all our nerves leading up to the event. Everything looked beautiful day of and Sam was so helpful with all our needs throughout the night. She even did our alcohol run for us and recommended the best vendors! Will definitely have events here in the future! Thank you so much, Sam!!!

Yelp
Such beautiful space full of rad businesses and awesome people! Great size for events and gatherings.

Yelp
Nice venue but the staff is terrible. They don't communicate with the client or the vendors at the facility which makes the day of an event terrible. Also, once you have your event, they don't give you your security deposit back or answer your phone calls, texts, or emails explaining why they are holding your security deposit. I do not recommend this place for any event.

Yelp
Church and State is so awesome and pretty unique. It is really fortunate that we have this in Salt Lake City because there are so many start ups and entrepreneurs here. I bet if more people knew we had this they would be totally jealous in other cities because I don't think there are as many of these as you would think. It is free to go in here and work anytime you want during their regular business hours. It is across from the library somewhat and is an old church. It is multiple stories and there are books that you can read while you're there as well as City Weekly, and other unique business pamphlets at the front. There is a gym in here as well for Church and State members. So, how do you become a member and why would you want to? Well if you are a member, you can have access to the building anytime you want, even apart from regular business hours. There is free wifi, and you can also get a private working space. It is more if you want a conference center or if you want a larger size office maybe, which some people rent out and that may be beneficial to you. I have seen a photography studio working on things late here one night because my husband is a member. It is about $100 a month for what he pays, but it pays off considering he has access to all the resources they provide there, and 24/7 access to work there anytime he wants and it provides an incubative atmosphere full of motivated people, with like minded visions and goals. They have a lot of free resources they give to businesses which I think is one of the most fascinating parts about Church & State and also one of my favorite things about it. They do bootcamps and entrepreneurial incubators, which resource start ups with great resources and just helpful marketing tools, smart wisdom from people who have done all of that and succeeded in it. It is cool because they also provide a lot of networking opportunities for local businesses or start ups, small businesses, and a variety of other visionaries.

Yelp
A business and startup incubator located in a stylish, old but remodeled church near the SLC library downtown. These guys offer coworking space to the masses for free during business hours and they have multiple tiered plans for folks who need dedicated office space. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the place is conveniently located to convenience stores, restaurants, and the Red Line Trax stations. Parking is tricky so if you are driving you might be circling for awhile for a street space or you can opt for the library's covered parking for a fee. Trax might even be a better bet. Overall, I have enjoyed utliIizing the comfortable coworking space and meeting with SLC clients there.

Yelp
Very cool urban look and feel. The inside is really pretty.

Yelp
We had our wedding here and it was the most amazing experience ever! Our wedding coordinator, Blair, was amazing and on top of everything so our wedding ran smoothly and efficiently. She has experience in coordinating tons of weddings so she was able to answer any questions and also suggest many ideas to make our wedding fun. We had about 140 people at the ceremony and then about 50 more arrive for the reception. The ceremony was done upstairs and then everybody moved downstairs for cocktail hour while the staff flipped the upstairs space for the reception. The space was perfect and it did not seem squished at all. The stain glass windows, brick walls and the bistro lighting made the ambiance so romantic and was very unique compared to the places we have been to for weddings in Utah. I would highly suggest this venue to anybody!
