New School Italian Will Bring the Party Back to Hog & Rocks Location | Eater SF

"The chef debuted the Italian pop-up Cibi Cotti in the Local Mission Marketspace as more of a testing ground for his eventual brick-and-mortar restaurant, showcasing his ‘new school Italian’ approach in which the restrictions of authenticity are stripped and the kitchen is free to experiment." - Ellen Fort

Just go. It's real southern Italian, local, and hard to find so you know it's good I really want to tell you not to go because it's going to gettoo busy. It is kind of cafeteria style. Just tell them what you want and they'll dish it out for you. I speak Italian but the staff does speak English and ia helpful. They had vegan options as well. The menu changes daily so be aware of that. The vegetables are outstanding and the carrots... I could have had 2 full plates of them. The picture may not look like much but trust me when I tell you that is was the closest thing to home cooking you're going to find there. The red wine, locally made and so refreshing! The vibe is typically Napoli. You will not want to miss this place.

Probably one of the worst meals we had in Naples. However everyone was kind and could tell a local place. The fried cheese was cold (they put in microwave but still not good) the pasta and beans was flavorless. The fish had so many bones. We ate mostly bread and was underwhelmed unfortunately with the food

The definition of "hidden gem". This spot is literally hidden inside a local market, you won't find it just walking around the area, and probably that's what makes it so authentic. When you see all the locals eating here you know it's the real deal. No menu, no listed prices. Just some freshly homemade food on exhibition to pick from. We had pasta e patate (a Napoletan classic), some cooked vegetables and the octopus. All of it was outstanding, the taste was delicious. This is how homemade Napoletan food should taste like. The service was super friendly, and even though they could have taken advantage of us since we were tourists, I am pretty sure they didn't considering how cheap the food was (20 EUR for the three dishes, I believe the octopus was 9 EUR, the pasta 4 EUR and the mixed vegetables 7 EUR). There is no coperto charge, but beware that if you eat the bread on the table you'll pay an extra euro.

All I have to say is the Carrots were a dish that I would have day in & day out. If an side dish is amazing then you must come to the restaurant, Cibi Cotti feels like your eating at someones home not a restaurant ❤️

This place is so worth the trip. I walked an hour and a half from my apartment because it was such a beautiful day today. And decided I would reward myself with some food from here. My only advice is don't go in and order when you're over hungry haha I ended up ordering the breaded meal cutlet and it was so delicious! I ordered the bacalao with tomato and black olive. I ordered the oracchetti pasta and then I also got the grilled squid on toast. I originally planned on vegetables and just one entree haha but I have the food for the day. I walked out to a table out by the Sea. Enjoyed some of my food. It was absolutely delicious!. The service was fantastic. Super friendly... He laughed when I said I only needed one fork lol wonderful! Wonderful food

Fantastic lunch at Cibi Coti, we were the only tourists there at that time. Shout out to the cook that casually served us more specialties to try when he saw that we emptied our plates.

This type of restaurant is the kind I love. Authentic flavors, no tourist traps, small amounts of English being spoken. This place is the real deal. After going up to the counter wading through plenty of locals (receiving “why/how are you here” looks) I ordered whatever was good/traditional. I was told if we wait 10 minutes, pasta with mussels will be ready. We patiently waited for one of the best and most simple meals I’ve had in Italy. Perfectly cooked and seasoned pasta, tomatoes, and mussels, accompanied by bread. You won’t find this place on accident, and if you are considering going: go right now! €13 for two entree sized pastas and bottled water. Run don’t walk here!

Yelp
An English-speaking local whose dog I met on a Naples beach recommended I try Cibi Cotti Nonna Anna (CCNA) for lunch, a place she described as having "simple, traditional food". Were it not for her recommendation, I'd never have discovered CCNA and even with her recommendation I needed help finding it. It sits inside a building at the very rear, in a place no tourist would ever uncover even though they should. It's a hive of activity at lunch and I'd certainly have returned if I'd not discovered it on my last day in Naples. Upon arrival of my party of 4 the woman at the helm of the operation took over, pointing us out to the one worker who spoke English. What a gem. We got everything we desired and more. Here at CCNA, a different pasta dish is prepared every few minutes and if you aren't interested in the current offering just wait a few. They came out with 3 or 4 during my lunchtime visit and I sampled two. But there was other stuff to sample here too - eggplant dishes and whatnot - and I did. Delicious food, extremely casual, and clearly beloved by the locals, the place closes when they run out of food and I could already feel the lunch rush waning by the time I left. The cost of this fabulous lunchtime meal - all in, alcohol included - ran about 32 euro for 4 diners who each left the table completely sated. Miss this lunchtime experience and you'll be missing not only a great meal but a true slice of Naples.

Yelp
The reviews are right and I'm so glad we had lunch here. Everything was like grandma used to make - not over seasoned, extremely fresh and simple (in a good way). The one note I would like to add is that you should go early as they cook for the day and that's it so the best things run out.

Yelp
Probably best Neapolitan restaurant in Naples. Small restaurant in a local market. Lunch time is very crowded, if you arrive at 11am your chances of finding table to sit more likely.
