Rustic beams & brick walls adorn this upscale Italian restaurant that also offers outdoor dining.
"On the night of April 14, a water main break flooded Harrison Avenue in Boston’s South End, causing heavy damage to numerous businesses; the area is home to art galleries, boutique clothing stores, and more. Italian restaurant Cinquecento, located at 500 Harrison Ave., suffered an estimated $1 million in damage, with the kitchen, offices, and events space ruined by several feet of water." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal
"Erbaluce chef and co-owner Charles Draghi is currently spending at least a year running the kitchen at Cinquecento, and while he’s not changing too much on the menu, there are certainly hints of his old ingredients, dishes, and techniques. He’s amping up Cinquecento’s carbonara, for example, with guanciale cured in-house, reminiscent of one of his most memorable Erbaluce dishes, and he plans to add his spaghettoni all’amatriciana to the menu as well." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal
"If you’ve ever wanted to live in a loft apartment in a converted factory space, but you’re not a 12-year-old who magically transforms into adult Tom Hanks, lands a job at a toy company, and then enters into a (let’s be real here) sexually confusing relationship with Elizabeth Perkins, then head to Cinquecento in the South End. There isn’t a giant trampoline in this former factory space, but there is a really fun Italian restaurant that makes great rigatoni with fennel sausage. It’s especially great in the summer when they open up a giant patio in the courtyard of the building." - Dan Secatore
