My hair stylist of almost ten years moved away suddenly. I waited until the last minute and needed a quick cut before my nephew's graduation. A friend recommended Chris at Circa 33. He has amazing reviews and good work on his Instagram, but he was booked solid, so I made an appointment with Jose. All seemed fine until the point I was in the chair and an earlier client called the shop to complain about their haircut. They wanted to come back and have someone other than Jose fix it, which offended Jose. I know all of this because the shop owner and Jose discussed it while I was having my hair cut, which was awkward and a little uncomfortable. Jose was pretty upset and complained about his other client for a solid ten minutes, acted flustered and started cutting my hair really roughly. At one point, I felt a pinch and said "ouch." Jose remarked I had sensitive skin. I couldn't see anything in the mirror he gave me to check, so I assumed everything was fine and left after my cut. On the drive home, I felt a wetness on my neck, it turned out to be a bit of blood. Apparently, I was nicked with the clippers. Again, not a big deal, I understand things happen and people have bad days. When I got home however, I saw that my hairline in the back was cut at a pretty severe angle. Not only was my skin broken, but the back of my neck was mangled by the clippers. I'm almost 40 years old and I've never left a haircut bleeding, with such an uneven hairline in the back, or had a stylist take out their frustrations about another client out on me. A hat isn't going to cover this..now I have to go to a graduation and work for the next few weeks looking like this. I’m pretty mad a professional would let someone walk out of their shop looking like this. Beyond the damage, I brought a photo of a haircut the shop did and what I received isn't even close to what I asked for. To be fair, the shop owner, Chris, was really nice about it and offered to have me come back and see another barber, but after they way Jose talked about his last unhappy client in front of me I wouldn't feel comfortable. I'm not a review person, I'm pretty easy going and I don't usually complain, but this was not a good experience.
