13 Things To Do For Halloween In Chicago If You Haven’t Made Plans Because Life Is Scary Enough

"Even if you’re not necessarily into nerding out about flying buttresses and the beaux-arts style, The Architectural Boat Tour is still one of the most unique ways to see the city. For an hour and half, you’ll learn some history, see some great views of the buildings and the changing colors of the leaves, plus every boat has a bar if you’re in the mood for a drink. Tickets and departure times can be found here." - john ringor, nick allen

I usually don’t prefer tour guide boat rides, but this one really changed the game for me. I can’t for the life of me remember what our tour guides name was, but he is in one of the pictures below and he was so fantastic, if you’re reading this and you are his boss, he deserves a raise. He had an amazing sense of humor, kept everyone on board entertained and went around and took a photo of every person who asked for one. Talk about quality service. The rest of the staff was also very friendly and the entire mood was awesome. The music they chose was a vibe. Masks weren’t required if you were vaccinated, every seat on the boat was filled. The boat itself was very clean. The boat ride was smooth sailing, it was supposed to rain but we definitely got lucky with the weather. If you plan on going during the weekend, make sure to book your tickets ahead of time because many of the time slots were completely sold out.

Had a blast on the cruise and wanted to see what the Architecture tour was about. Goes right through the river and get to see all the nice restaurants along the side including Riverwalk and plus information on Chicagos history. Highly recommend Seadog tours.

Jake is a great tour guide!! My daughter and I went on the tour and had a blast!! I was glad they gave us a discounted rate but would’ve done it either way.

Seadog Speedboat Tours in Chicago was exciting. A bit cheaper than the other traditional tours in the area and much more interesting. The boat is propelled by two V-12 motors and pushes about 2000 HP. The guide was rather comical and entertaining. Yet the most attractive part of the route was the overview of the skyline.

The Seadog us a great way to learn about Chicago's buildings and it's history. While also catching a great breeze! Our guide was knowledgeable and gave funny commentary the whole tour! Make sure you pack on that sunscreen. The sun was beaming on this chocolate skin! Hahahaa. Customer service during booking was a 5/5. Highly recommend a quick ride on this dog!

I booked a cruise 3 days in advance and planned our whole day around it. About 3 hours before boarding time, I received a n email that due to “unforeseen circumstances.” The cruise was canceled. I was very disappointed and when I asked what the circumstances were they could not answer. The weather was perfect and I know they have 3 vessels. I was just looking for some reasonable explanation. We tried to book another tour that evening, however, they stated they had nothing. We booked a cruise with a competitor and as we we leaving on that cruise we saw the SeaDog coming back that we were supposed to be on and another one going out! See my photos below. Both vessels appeared to have empty seats too! I feel totally duped. I went to their kiosk for an explanation but they were already closed. I did find a note stating that they increase their prices based on demand. I am assuming at this point that they cancelled my family’s cruise because of increased demand and our advance purchase didn’t make them enough money! I emailed the company directly and have yet to receive a reply. I hate leaving negative reviews but I think a potential buyer should know not to consider their reservation to be real.

Had some family visiting and we decided to take the Chicago Seadog Architectural River Cruise tour on 6/17/24 @ 12:15pm. It was amazing! Long time Chicago resident, thought I knew a lot but our guide blew my mind. She was funny and super chill…I can’t remember her name but I’d like to book another tour if she’s hosting. Is there a way to find out? Can’t wait to take another Seadog cruise!
