Best Restaurants in Columbia, South Carolina | Eater Carolinas

"Yes, it’s a drive from downtown, and yes, it’s only open two days a week. And still, City Limits Barbeque chef-owner Robbie Robinson has more than earned his spot as a James Beard Best Chef finalist in 2024 and 2025, among other impressive accolades. On Friday nights, the restaurant will send out an email with the weekend’s menu. Count on there being a line, but the Texas and Carolina-style barbecue is well worth the wait." - Helen Harrison

The good - all the food was great. My first time here so I got way too much food than I needed. If you're just there for a quick lunch, get the lil Frito. It was so good and the perfect portion size. I didn't really need anything beyond that. I had the chop brisket, it was good, I've had better. Free bottled water while you're waiting and to have while you eat a nice treat. Now the bad, be prepared to wait, I got there at 12 it was 2 when I finally got up from eating and it didn't take me but 20 minutes to eat. The line is long. When we're walking out, the length of the line was less than where I had started at noon. Cost a little bit more than I'd like to spend. I gulped when my tab was $50. It's definitely a nice change of pace from the likes of farm boys or Hudson.

Google
Best BBQ in Columbia. Come early to secure your spot in line…the reward is well worth the wait! We were there at 10:10 this morning and after about 90min we were at our table with brisket, ribs, hash, and cole slaw. Oh my! What an incredible payoff for the wait! Everything was delicious and a delight. Truly masterful execution. The staff goes above in beyond in friendliness and care of their customers too - regularly checking if any need ice cold free bottled water while they wait. This place is a treasure in Cola.

Google
Well worth the Saturday wait, everything we tried on the menu was excellent! Expect to pay a good bit if you want to try a lot, but they’ll give you all the take out boxes you need…Awesome bbq, beef ribs and burnt ends. The sides were on point….highly recommend collards/shells&cheese and the honey cornbread! Free bottled water, super friendly staff, indoor and outdoor seating available. Love the rustic vibes and atmosphere. Best bbq and burnt ends we’ve had in SC. Yep….the best💯❤️💯

I contemplated not standing in a line for BBQ when there are a lot of choices out there, but I am so glad I ended up deciding to come to City Limits. We arrived around 10:30 on a Saturday and were maybe the 10th party in line. While we waited, folks came out to greet us, tell us about the menu for the day, and offer free water and beer. Once they opened, the line moved fairly slowly -- but once we reached the counter we realized it's because the entire staff is so darn friendly that they spend all the time needed with each and every customer. *SO* friendly. We loaded our platter with brisket, hash & rice and chopped pork with chicharron, as well as collards and slaw. We also bought a bag of fresh chicharrons and some jalapeno pimiento cheese for the road -- one of the *SO* friendly guys behind the counter recommended the combo as a riff on chips and dip (great rec, btw). After gathering our tray, we headed outside to the one of the picnic tables and enjoyed some of the best BBQ and sides I can recall. Everything was utterly delicious and so well-prepared. The biggest surprise was the chopped pork with chicharrons, which was a wonderful combination of textures and flavors. As we ate, Robbie's wife was circulating around to check in on customers, and she spent what felt like a ridiculous amount of time at our table chatting with us and answering all my husband's many, many questions about their recipes, weekly prep schedule and business model LOL. She was *SO* friendly. What a wonderful experience we had, from the food to the service. Did I mention how friendly they are? If we lived locally, I'd come all the time and befriend the entire staff.

Google
Get there early and prepare for a long wait but the bbq is extremely delicious and people are nice, they care about what they are doing. Brisket and burnt ends recommended. All the sides were good.

Fellow travelers, if you find yourselves near Columbia, SC, please have a meal at City Limits Barbeque. We visited on a Sunday, and although we spent about 90 minutes in line, the staff was friendly and provided frequent updates as food items sold out. They also had free water bottles while you waited or sat down to eat at the rather spacious facilities. While we were in line, they ran out of ribs, and green beans. During our visit, we tried the following: - Chopped Texas Brisket - Pork Belly Burnt Ends - Smoked Half-Chicken - Brisket Chili - Charro Beans - Shells and Cheese - Honey Butter Cornbread They very kindly also let us try the "no gross parts" hash over rice which was very tasty. Every single item was fantastic. As the person taking our order said to us: "You literally cannot go wrong", and we most certainly agree.

Google
I came here twice to eat and try as much of the menu, but one consistent thing I found was that the meat was slightly dryer. This is probably the best texas brisket in Columbia, but it is a bit dry, probably due to the storage method. The chopped pork sandwich and pulled pork were a bit dry. However, the pulled pork was absolutely delicious (but still a bit drier). The ribs weren't very smoke in flavor but was tender, however I found it similar to an oven baked rib. The sides were also fantastic, I would recommend the Shells with Cheese and the Honey Butter Cornbread. Get the edge piece. The generous sides were a plus as well. Sausage was alright, nothing special. However, despite my low rating, it is a great BBQ place for its sides, but the meat is just a bit lacking. I would come back to see where the team takes it.

Google
All the food was amazing. Great spot. A little long on the wait but you get what you wait for. I went there for my birthday and wasn't disappointed. Brisket was great, pork belly ribs even better, and cornbread was awesome.

Yelp
Ordered the pork belly burnt ends, half chicken, pork spare ribs, and the crispy pork chopped to go along with corn bread and pint of pimento cheese. Ranking the meat from best to average is burnt ends, crispy pork, chicken, and the ribs. The meat is definitely high quality and premium cuts. The burnt ends and crispy pork werr by far some of the best tasting meats. The burnt ends were in a sauce and had great flavor. The crispy pork was just great with the pieces of crunchy pork mixed with the soft meat. Both worth coming back for. The ribs while tender and good taste, I didn't really like the way they were cooked and not my preference. Chicken was also good but didn't stand out compared to the other meats I listed above. There are five sauces to choose from which is mustard, Alabama white, Carolina vinegar base, and two Texas red BBQ sauces that can be applied to the meats. I was going to order the apple cobbler but asked the guys which one they would choose between cornbread and cobbler and no hesitation they picked the cornbread. I ordered the cornbread and was a great choice and another highlight of the meal. I ordered 4 more to go after demolishing the corner piece! Lastly the pint of jalapeno sweet pimento cheese is really good to take with you. It is not spicy however but still very good and fresh. Luckily for me and others today there was a minor line that was just outside the entry door. Saturday is the only day you can get this so I would recommend this place to anyone in the Columbia or surrounding area. Probably one of the best BBQ in and around the area or in the state. Definitely not the cheapest but the quality is very high. Don't pass on this one day a week BBQ place.

Yelp
This place definitely has great bbq and every item was delicious. Although the wait was long, I didn't mind as it was all about the experience. Texas Brisket- would rival any Texas bbq outside of Texas but a little tougher than I've had in Texas. Pork Belly burnt ends- worth every penny Sausage- good but probably a one and done. Collard Greens- a million times yes Jalapeño slaw- incredible Hash & Rice- not a fan in general but this was super good Corn Bread- a must The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is I'm rating this against Texas Bbq and not bbq in Columbia or South Carolina.

Yelp
I only recommend this place is you have a patience in a long line and are prepared to leave uncomfortably full. Went with a group so we could order tons of items and all of us were impressed. The pulled pork and hash and rice were my favorite. The pork belly also had an amazing flavor with a sticky glaze. Total line time was 1.5 hours on a football Saturday.

Anya M.

Yelp
You just have to eat here. Plain and simple. The staff were extremely nice and welcoming, made amazing suggestions, and we enjoyed everything we got! The brisket has a fantastic crust to it, the crunchies in the pulled pork are a delicious surprise, the macaroni was cheesy and rich, and you must get the yellow sauce on the hash and rice! We'll be back!

Yelp
City Limits BBQ is the best BBQ I've ever had, and I grew up in the Carolinas, so that's saying something. They really know what they're doing here. The brisket is super tender and juicy. Their sauce selection is elaborate and taste like they're made in-house. Also highly recommend the peach cobbler (take it home and eat with some ice cream), but you really can't go wrong here with any of their dishes. On top of that, everyone there is super friendly, and the line moves fast. They often hand out free waters while you wait which is a thoughtful touch. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the are!

Yelp
Five of us were here last Saturday morning. We arrived about 10:25 AM down along to be about 20 to 25 people waiting to get in. At 11a.m. the owner came out and explain the daily special gave directions on staying in a single file and shutting the door once you got inside the building. I ordered a half pound of brisket with a sea island, beans, and rice, side, and coleslaw. I have never had a beef rib, so I ordered one beef rib to go. The rib was about a pound and was one of the smaller ones that they had. Price for the ribs is $37 per pound, so basically I had a $37 rib! The brisket was done perfectly and I asked for a couple pieces of fat in one piece lean. You can order any amount you want, you buy the pound or by the slice. They weigh it so you're paying by the pound. I also ordered a side of marinated jalapeños and they were some of the best I've ever had. They say they take out the seeds so they're not real hot. I wasn't real fond of the coleslaw, as it was just sort of bland.. They said it was a jalapeño coleslaw, but I didn't see much jalapeño in it. One of my friends ordered the brisket charred tips and macaroni and cheese as a side. Another order was for the sausage and see Highland beans and rice. She said the next time she would order the brisket. When we left, I noticed cars were parked all up and down the street so it must get busy every weekend. They had tables inside and our also tables outside. So if you're early enough, you shouldn't have a problem getting a table inside with air-conditioning. My total bill was about $93 including the tip. The next day for lunch, heated up beef rib. I wrapped in aluminum foil and bake it at 3:50 for about 10 minutes. It was the best thing I've almost over him and I liked it better than a brisket! I had about half of it and it's the other half for dinner that night. The next time I go I know I'm buying another beef rib. this place is excellent and I'm sure I'll return. The staff was very friendly and explained everything if you had questions. There's nothing like it in town.

Yelp
Wonderful place. It's a long wait but the folks are the nicest I've ever met at a restaurant. Genuine and attentive. I can tell these folks love what they do and are always striving to improve. We came late so much of the food was sold out. The bahn mi was delicious and the spare ribs perfectly cooked. Will be back for sure !

Yelp
Is this the holy grail of BBQ? YES! As first timers we were in unknown territory. When we arrived about 15 minutes after the Saturday 11:00am opening, the line to enter the modest, rustic two story building was about 20 people deep. And the line moved S-l-O-W-l-Y. Once inside the door things get better--grab a side (I got slaw and potato salad), beer or free water from the coolers and on to the meat slicer (where you order meat). We are ready to order--about 50 minutes after we arrived! Do not be discouraged! They have Sunday hours too! And Texas style beef ribs! These colossal ribs boast a nine or ten inch bone and copious amounts of tender, slow cooked heavenly meat. Think Mississippi pot roast but 2x the flavor. This is BBQ on another level. Don't get me wrong I like pork ribs, but these are a special treat. My wife had the chopped brisket and said it was the best she ever had ! All our sides were great, including the jalapeño coleslaw, potato salad, hash, and chili. In sum, the BBQ experience at City Limits is epic. Arrive early, and have patience. It is also worth noting that if you get beef ribs they are advertised as costing $40 per lb; however, because of their size and how they are portioned expect to pay for much more. We planned on buying a pound, but our ribs topped out at almost 4 pounds. Plenty of delicious meat for two.

Yelp
Trust me when I say this: Don't go there unless you love BBQ The brisket will melt in your mouth, the collards and mac are better than momma's, and you're going to wish you brought home more pulled pork.

Yelp
Food truck turned brick & mortar, this place is killing it with BBQ. Brisket is delicious and ribs are on point. The jalapeño slaw is the bomb...sweet, creamy, ...with just enough bite. Mac and cheese is really good as well. You stand in line for food and when they ate out...they're out. There are menus posted in two areas outside so that you can review the offerings for the day. They do all beef hot dogs in all styles only on Sundays and man, they are some delicious dogs. Looking forward to their expansion in the future. Great for take out as well! It's great to sit outside on their deck in spring and summer. I am not a big fam of BBQ in general, but their menu and flavors have me hooked...especially the hotdogs. Sick... right?

Robert H.

Yelp
Our wait from the time we arrived until we paid was approximately an hour. Take out line should be seperate in my opinion. The service was professional and courteous. Very friendly staff. Personally that was the best part. Now to the food. We chose the chopped bbq with the crispy skins, the burt ends and rickey for the proteins We chose the collards, rice and hash and potato salad. Food scores: BBQ w/ Crispy skins : 8 Brisket: 6.5 Burt Ends: 4.5 Why these scores. Chopped BBW w/ Crispy Skins: Good and the crispy skins added a great taste. Brisket: Greasy but moist. Burt Ends. Fat, fat and more fat with a side of grease. Potato Salad: 6 Collards: 5 Rush and Hash: 8 Potato Salad: Very bland. Collards: More stems than greens. Rush and Hash: Good taste and texture. Overall the experience was a 6.

Yelp
Sunday Sunshine and BBQ today in Cola..I have had City Limits on my list to visit and today we had the pleasure of having an amazing lunch there. Don't let the line discourage you, it's more than worth the wait. Robbie did not disappoint with everything we had. We arrived about 45 minutes after they opened, and unfortunately the large group in front of us cleared out the chopped bbq and spare ribs...but the sweet guys managing the front gave us the last two ribs and a few slices of pork belly to try. We got the brisket dog, made in house of course,Sally's style with jalapeño coleslaw and brisket chili. We also got shells and cheese, Frito Pie, Brunswick stew, and a Pork Belly Banh Mi. I think I will probably dream about that pork belly. It was cooked perfectly and melt in your mouth tender. The honey cornbread literally tasted like dessert. I can't say enough great things about them and we can't wait to come back on Saturday to try all of the different bbq. They are only open Saturday and Sunday so come early before they run out!

Josh B.

Yelp
Best barbecue in the state of South Carolina. I have never tried a dish that wasn't amazing. Staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

Yelp
This may be the best brisket I have ever had and we eat a ton of bbq!!! Flavorful fall apart meat that when you eat it you are immediately happy. Plus- all the sides we got: Mac n cheese, collards, potato salad and cornbread were superb!! We commented that it's unusual to find a bbq spot with both good meat and good sides-- but this place does it! Plus- the staff here are some of the nicest people ever!

Yelp
i am an ABSOLUTE raving fan!!! let's start with dundee , the owners son, who greats you as soon as your park and walks you to the door. dundee is AWESOME and is a gift of joy and enthusiasm. the entire family is involved whether it's greeting you or serving you in some capacity and i absolutely love it! there's some outdoor seating both upstairs and just outside the entrance. now, the entire reason for the five star rating, the food! everything is a la cart , so don't expect a "platter" option , just build your own this brisket is the absolute BEST i've ever had. it's sliced thick , seasoned well and has the absolute BEST smoke ring. their pork belly burnt ends (not in the video) are like having meat candy lol. the perfect balance of salty and sweet and they're absolutely tender with just the right amount of smoke flavor. their sides are amazing as well. whether it's the frito pie or the shells and cheese or their collards they absolutely don't miss. as if that's not enough, they make their own sauces and i am absolutely hooked. whether it's their take on a carolina gold or the alabama white or a vinegar mop sauce, they're ALL great! you can also get one ounce of each with your order and if you get hooked like i did, you can buy a bottle to go! chances are that you'll find me here on saturday mornings taking some time to myself or getting the meat sweats as i share this amazing experience with close friends / family.
google avatar

Renee D.

Yelp
This was my first time there. I saw a post on Facebook, which made me want to go. I have to say the food is great, of what I got, I got the brisket and the Dino ribs ($40 a pound). The only negative was the rub on the Dino ribs was very salty, otherwise when you cut into it, it's very tender and very good. If you can't have a lot of salt, you may not be able to, at least eat the outside of the rib, otherwise very good.

Davida B.

Yelp
Such good bbq! Not many places around Columbia worth waiting in line for but this was one! Excellent brisket, potato salad, brisket chili and hash!

Payton F.

Yelp
This place absolutely lives up to the hype. The chef is a super lovely guy; very humble and appreciative of his customers. The entire staff is friendly and helpful and share his gift for hospitality. Very comfortable environment, likewise humble and inviting. The food is ridiculous. The beef ribs are super pricey but worth the splurge. The brisket is the best I've had bar none. Go for the pulled pork, and get it chopped with crispy skin - this is absolutely ridiculously good. Sides were very solid, especially the honey butter cornbread. It's not cheap, but it's absolutely worth it. This is barbecue masterclass.

Cindy H.

Yelp
Juicy brisket pilled up on a soft bun, served with excellent homemade pickles and pickled onions, the burnt ends are extremely tasty with their own sauce which is outstanding, the coleslaw was a great side and it made for a nice edition to the pork sandwich that my husband ate, the beans were delicious. I would put this in the can't miss category if anyone is wondering about trying this place.

Dorian C.

Yelp
Ok so we stopped here on our way to Atlanta.... OMG!!!!! This is a hidden gem!!! Everything we tried was soooo freaking good! We can't wait to go back. I promise it won't disappoint at all. The food is amazing and they restaurant style is slightly different than what you may be used to. We dropped an eat $100 for 3 adults but it was worth it!

Mark B.

Yelp
As someone who makes bbq on my own smoker this is the only legit bbq around. Most bbq places have dry bbq unless you add sauce to it. I tried the pork belly burnt ends, beef rib, chopped pork with crispy skin, pork ribs, and brisket and they were all real deal bbq. It's pricey and they have a long line but if you want GREAT bbq it's worth it.

Seth L.

Yelp
Amazing! The whole hog (with chicharron), brisket, hop-n- john, cornbread, pickles, etc. were fantastic. So good...I'm going to take a nap #foodcoma

Carole M.

Yelp
We went there Saturday now I'm a believer. Everything was great there's a reason he is a James Beard finalist! I loved the homey atmosphere. However next time we'll get there early because he does sell out like by the time I got there he was sold out of his smoked chicken however I did get the slice brisket it was delicious as well as his sides. I just wanted to say thank you for your bbq and the service.
google avatar

Mike P.

Yelp
The beef ribs and brisket along with the pimento cheese is amazing. I really liked the potato salad and the collards were ok. The staff is very friendly and helpful. You always pay for great food, but most people will need to budget for trips here.

Yelp
Excellent brisket! I do recommend. Atmosphere ? Well you cant.have it all but the brisket was worth it!

Yelp
It was a little tough to find. I showed up at 1:15pm on a Saturday and they were out of meat. If you meet Henry, please tell him David with the cool car says Hi!
google avatar

Steph A.

Yelp
We love the outdoor seating and area! Friendliest people are operating this place and where super patient with us. The food was great! Hoping to make it early one day for the brisket and ribs.

Robert O.

Yelp
Patience. If you don't have it. Drive on by. Worth the wait. Indeed. While the service is not slow, the lines can be long. But when is it not for great food. Brisket, pulled pork, and smoked wings have always been delicious. Hats off the Chef and Owner. The atmosphere is almost like being at your family on a Sunday afternoon. Simple decor. Clean spaces. And no one you know but you all agree the food is great and the company around you is nice to speak to. Highly recommend stopping by sometime.

Yelp
We had been following on Instagram for several weeks and we were thrilled to try for ourselves! The anticipation grew as we saw the line - always a good sign and oh so worth the wait! We finally found it! Great bbq!! Slow smoked and oozing with flavor. The brisket was on point and juicy and the beef rib was simply amazing! Just the right seasoning and oh so tender! Our friends enjoyed the pulled pork sandwiches. Oh and did I mention the jalapeño coleslaw pairs perfectly- it's not spicy just the right amount of sweet and vinegar. They have a plethora of sauces from Texas spicy red to Alabama whit and SC yellow. We are excited to go back as they work on their store front. The space was rustic and woodsy and lots of picnic table seating. Try it! You'll like it!!

Colleen L.

Yelp
Brisket and smoked chicken were AMAZING...everything was delicious. It's great to have such great BBQ here in West Columbia

Yelp
The food is amazing! Best brisket in SC! Just an all around wonderful establishment! You'll want to try a bit of everything!

Yelp
We had an amazing family Christmas dinner and a wonderful traditional New Years meal all from City Limits Barbeque!! It's a hidden Gem!! The brisket, pulled pork, sausage & sides were fantastic!! Don't pass this place by!!

Yelp
100% the best BBQ in the Columbia area! The pictures speak for themselves and EVERYTHING IS INCREDIBLE. Beef rib is some of the best I have ever had and the Alabama white sauce is my fav. Don't even get me started on the homemade pickles that you can order a pint of.

Nicole S.

Yelp
if you can only make one stop in columbia area, this is it. carolina style bbq with a texas twist, cooked with all wood burning pits. healthy, slow cooked cuts of meats and handcrafted soulful sides. they have the best brisket I've ever had, dynamite beef ribs, my favorite local pimiento cheese and quite frankly everything ive tried is mouthwatering delicious, the brisket chili, sausage links, gouda shells & cheese, pulled pork, his smoked wings, my goodness, they've got a lot of my favorites in town. really putting the coal in west coalumbia. and the man behind it all is deserving of all the good things in this world! right now, they're open on saturdays and some sundays (check his IG @citylimitsq to stay up to date on days open). the line on saturday mornings are 5 mins to an hour and a half ish and normally a bit shorter in the afternoons (with the chance to run out of certain foods, but it's not that likely). there is comfortable covered outdoor seating area and a few good local and texas beer options, which you can buy while you wait in line. every once in a while they have free beer until it runs out too!
google avatar

Yelp
Damn TASTY, melts in your mouth, not in your hand....this my friends I know not is the REAL DEAL Texas Q...moist brisket, excellent ribs, sausage all meat no filler....most that shall glance at this review have Netflix, launch Chefs Table BBQ of Tootsie Tomanetz of Snows BBQ and City Meat Market Giddings TX...City Limits right here in W Columbia is this good, tasty, awesome etc...the photos and address in this review are not current...they are located off Methodist Park Road, West Columbia or online citylimitsq.com...Trust me fellow BBQ-Peeps...pre-order and you too shall exclaim....Damn TASTY !!!!!

Zhihao Z.

Yelp
Seriously, the best BBQ I have ever had. Just hope they could do it more often. The brisk is always good, the pastrami, the ribs, oh you should really try their beef ribs.
google avatar

Muhammad S.

Yelp
I had been meaning to try City Limits for a long time. I finally got around to it today, and I'm glad I did. I had the brisket and the smoked gouda mac and cheese. Both were superb. It's true 'no sauce needed' Texas style brisket. My advice? Go. Get there early, get in line, and get you some real BBQ.

Yelp
Best TX bbq in all of SC! Source: a born and raised texan living in SC. Brisket burgers, beef ribs and brisket are my favorite in that order. All the sides are great, as well as the service!

Caryn B.

Yelp
Amazing food and amazing atmosphere!! Service was top notch! A definite must do when visiting Fort Jackson

Yelp
This food truck is probably the best in Columbia not just because they have the best Texas style bbq but for the ever changing menu. Let me explain, most visits we get a certain amount of brisket smoked to perfection with hot gut sausage. I usually get there early sometimes sharing a beer or conversation about the meats. Back to the menu it included a smashed brisket burger a few weekends back no one is doing that currently. Yesterday they just did 5.00 carnitas and 5.00 chicken tacos in order to raise money for St. Baldricks a cancer charity that is fighting the good fight ! City Limits will focus on one thing or two and perfect it , just like the smoked wings. Just depends on what there doing it changes it keeps things fresh. I've been fortunate enough of learn more about Texas style cooking with my conversations with the owner Robbie. South Carolina usually features our on style of mustard or vinegar based bbq , Texas style bbq focuses less on sauces and more on the smoke and flavor. But fear not City Limits has everything from Alabama white sauce to our reds and mustards based sauce for those customers who just like to dip their meat in sauce. Oh there's going to be a line be patient be kind or just freaking pre order meats when available obviously not all items can be pre ordered as they are made to order. Nice addition to Columbia 's ever growing food scene. Excited to see what's just around the corner.

Yelp
No doubt, best brisket in Columbiyeah. I've had a serious love affair w/ Texas BBQ since the first time I went to Texas years ago. I'm sad to say in the last two years I've sought out Lewis in Charleston more than I've been to my beloved Hites in West Columbia. I prefer good brisket to a good steak any day, and I'm so glad that City Limits is here. The staff was so nice. They were sold out of Sausage by the time I got there, so I'll surely preorder next time. In fact, I got the last bit of brisket they had on Saturday. PREORDER (Facebook/twitter will let you know when) or come early. Didn't try any of the other que, though it looked amazing. Brisket was good and smokey. Melt in your mouth. Noone in town holds a candle to City Limits.

Yelp
Delicious! The meat was tender with a nice crisp with seasoning on the outside. The wings were had so much flavor in them. Absolutely worth stalking their Instagram and waiting in line for.

Yelp
After the smoked wings I'm ready to post. I actually didn't want to mention this because I'm afraid of how busy they could potentially get. City limits BBQ is a must. If you haven't tried this you really are missing out. Texas brisket/beef rib, smoked Gouda Mac, pork and Texas beef link. All of the Q has been exceptional. Pit master is a really cool guy and works really hard at his craft. Best in my opinion that Columbia has to offer. Do yourself a favor.

Yelp
I went to eat at this food truck after a friend told me of an event they would be at. ONE OF THE BEST BURGERS I HAVE EVER HAD!!! My husband and I have a routine for Saturday's, but I told him we ARE going to the Devine St sale on the 4th for burgers and lambic. I don't do reviews, mainly because I don't remember to do them, but if it means that this truck will be around more often....

Yelp
High quality from the meats down to the sides. If you see this guy out and about, stop what you're doing and EAT! Personally recommend the brisket!!

Yelp
This is the best darn bbq I've ever had. My one problem with BBQ sometimes is the texture but this stuff is so melt in your mouth smooth there's no weirdness, only deliciousness. We were never the type to go to events for the food, but now if we know the city limits truck will be there, we plan it for lunch. Any music, beer, or arts festing around us is just a bonus.

Yelp
I hired City Limits for a holiday work lunch for my team in retail, and I am so happy I chose them. Not only did he work with me to figure a way to help my team redeem their meals, but he delivered a meal that they were in love with and are still talking about to this day. I loved the Brisket, and their sides were superior to any other BBQ place I've ever been to. Looking forward to hiring them again in the future.

Yelp
We tried city limits for the first time at their location right off number one. We heard their menu changes weekly and so we decided on a brisket burger and a pulled pork sandwich. The brisket burger was superb as it was seasoned perfectly, cooked to a juicy medium/medium rare and had a slight crust from the grilling. The chili on top was delicious and worked well with the burger with just the right amount of cheese. Then the pulled pork sandwich. Very tasty and generously loaded. The NC style pork was very tasty and if I had to say something then I would say it could have used a tat more smoke. The jalapeño slaw was mild and for me it could have packed a lil bit more fire. All in all outstanding bbq worth another visit soon. It is slightly pricey with a burger running up to $15. That means if you take your family and add sides and drinks you pay restaurant prices in an very basic outdoor pick nick table setting. Nevertheless if you love bbq you won't mind the money and you likely won't be disappointed. We"l visit again soon in brisket or rib week hopefully!

Yelp
This is the best BBQ in town, hands down. City Limits brings the best of the Texas BBQ to South Carolina, with delicious beef brisket and ribs. The chicken has delicious smoke favor and just the right sauce. The sandwiches are delicious, with sweet pickles jalapeños to finish off the flavor profile. Give City Limits a try.
