I absolutely love this place. They have all the strange, interesting, and impossible to find ingredients a foodie needs. The lobster is fresh, the produce perfect, and the samples at the cheese counter are a must. They have all the high end items that most local grocers don't. Excellent seafood and pate.

This small market has delicious specialty foods and wines. It's entertaining just to walk through and check out their lovely offerings of meats, cheeses, fresh pasta, fish, fruits and vegetables. I have them cut fresh pasta and wrap in a family dinner portion. Makes dinner a snap to get on the table. There is a small parking lot in the back.

We shop here all the time. Their products are of a very high quality, which you will be paying a premium for. We feel it is worth it. Many nights we'll just pick up some fresh pasta and sauce and have a quick meal that way. I believe it is still cheaper to buy food this way than it is to eat out at restaurants. Their wine and cheese selection is terrific, and the staff is very knowledgeable and happy to make recommendations based on your needs. Lastly, the flower shop out front has been a lifesaver many times when they help to make a bouquet for me based on just my wife's favorite colors.

Granted, some prices may be higher than what you'll find at the major chains, but the quality, freshness and selection is far superior, too. This is especially notable in the meat and produce departments, where friendly and well informed personnel always deliver outstanding customer service. I shop here often, and judging from the number of people coming and going, it's fair to say it's a regular stop for many people who reside in the NW and SW neighborhoods.

I love with this place stands for. There are special products and Food items that you can't find any place else that are available here. I almost took away one star because of the astronomical prices. Mind, I am an Old School Portlander and I don't have the kind of cash that the new folks moving in, so there's always sticker shock. But if you're looking for that special food with fun memories of home and history you'll probably find it here. And also the quality is good. In a culture of mass production this is one of the last refuges for individuation.

It's my favorite place to get the FRESHEST of fresh seafood, score some amazing cheese you cannot find elsewhere, pick up foie gras torchon and chicken liver bourbon mousse. Everything there is high quality. Super friendly staff!

A great neighborhood grocery store that sells a little of everything. They have produce and a meat counter but the produce is always fresh and the meat counter includes some very tasty, but pricey, meats from Europe. (Jamon Serrano, why must you be so costly?!) They also boast a seafood counter and Chop butcher shop that are manned by well-informed intelligent folks looking to get you what you want. They also offer a decent wine selection and modest selection of microbrew and European beers. If none of the raw material for a meal interest you, they also have some pre-made items, such as sandwiches and salads, as well as ribs and other meat-tastic selections from Chop. Items are pricier than most supermarkets but you will notice the difference in quality.

Great little coop. A little expensive but worth every penny. Meat, produce, fish, wine. All the best the NW has to offer. Nice folks as well.
