My wife and I stopped in for the first time. 2/14/25 we bought three bags nuts.

Google
Picked up some of their Wildlands mix out at Scheel’s the other day and reminded me that it’s been too long since I have been in the shop downtown. Their product is top notch. In addition, talking to the owner and seeing how the business is run, I have been impressed by his business philosophy that prioritizes people and relationships. Many good flavors behind the counter. Wildlands is still my all time favorite.

Google
I can’t recommend this place enough. The best nuts! I can confidently say the maple bacon cashews are the best vegan bacon snack EVER! I became addicted to these when I lived in Boise to the point where I’ve had to order a massive amount to Florida so I won’t have to live without them (so worth it 😂) They are great to work with and the quality can’t be beaten. I ordered these on a Saturday morning and somehow they got to Florida 2 days later! WOW! I’m so thrilled and so impressed! The customer service and product are out of this world, and I will definitely be a lifelong customer!

We received one of City Peanut Shop's holiday tins last year and it was so good. We knew we wanted to get them as gifts this year. Everyone was super friendly and helpful in the shop. Will definitely be buying from here again.

Google
Wonderful products no doubt! We usually spend at least $50 there every time we go in store! We have always enjoyed gifting their products too! We have had a more difficult time getting to Boise and so wish that we could have products available in Canyon County and other areas in the Treasure Valley. Not sure what the hold up is, but it sure we be nice to find them in other places. Please friends of City Peanut Shop consider more options further West. Smoke Jumpers are our favorite! We would no doubt spend more money being able to have access to them more often! ❤️. **I’m sad that you deleted your response because I was hoping to brainstorm some options and ideas with you about Canyon County. What about trying the Flying M in Caldwell, or Oakes Brothers marketplace there too. There’s also Cliff’s Market in Caldwell. Nampa has Pre-Funk, might be cool option to see them there! Or maybe at One 11 press in Nampa, or Flying M in Nampa.

Google
Dan and his team helped us arrange an order for 20 gift boxes and had them all ready to be picked up by the next morning. Their efficiency, great attitude, and delicious product will have us coming back for sure!

Yelp
We're visiting Boise for the first time and stumbled on this great shop. I'm so glad we wandered in. The owner, Dan, generously offered many samples and every single one was delicious. The Wild Lands mix did stand out (we bought 3 bags!). We also bought a bag of the BBQ peanuts. In addition to making a great product, Dan was friendly, took time to talk to us and offered us many great recommendations. (Side note: Dan, we did go see Shakey Graves and loved the show & venue. Thank you!)

Yelp
So many delicious nuts and brittles! And the staff are very friendly and helpful. They even had a beer pairing one night where you could try various nuts paired with beers from a local brewery!

Yelp
Ok if anyone would have ever told me I'd be reviewing a peanut shop I'd probably tell them they were high or that I had lost all sense of why anyone writes these reviews. For REAL though these nuts are off the hook!! I mean look at the picture and tell me those peanuts aren't like the biggest roastiest looking snack bites you have ever seen? Apologies to anyone with a nut allergy. I stopped in to grab a quick bag to go for my husband as a thoughtful kind of gift. He gets a bit of low blood sugar so nuts are a good thing to have around. These peanuts though are not just a little bit to just pick you up. This is a peanut to savor! The salty, sweet, slight spice and big roasted crunch... mmmmm screams beer and grab another handful! Oh and sharing???? Ugh, yeah it's the right thing to do but definitely plan to buy extra.

Yelp
I've been in here once several years ago. But this evening I was able to sample a few options and they were all fabulous. A variety of nuts and flavors and some brittle. The owner is a very community driven man that was given the idea by his dad telling him for 20 years to open a peanut shop. I'm glad he did.

Yelp
I was strolling through the lovely streets of Boise, and I happened to notice a sign that said City Peanuts. I thought surely not. I had never seen a shop specialize in peanuts before. But sure enough, they did. I walked in and the smells had me in the feels! I looked at there shelves and cases wondering if my bank account would handle one of everything. Nope. There was just to many varieties to be had. After a few samples, which they eagerly hand out, I opted for the cinnamon almonds and the Ristler peanuts. The cinnamon almonds were seasoned perfectly, not to sweet, not to salty. The Rustler peanuts are roasted in dark beer and have the perfect amount of flavor. This was arguably one of the hardest decisions I have had to make. The choices are plentiful as they also have cashews and other nuts as well as peanut brittle and swag. So if you find yourself in Boise and jonesin' for a snack, stroll on in to the City Peanut Shop!

Yelp
City Peanut Shop is amazing, not only at Christmas, but year round! Their products and service are excellent. Please support this wonderful local business!

Yelp
What a gem. Their nut mixes are so good, I am planning to get some more shipped after I run out of the ones I bought on my visit to Boise. Especially the Wild Lands! Worth a stop if you're in town. They make each batch separately also and the staff can let you know which ones are gluten free.

Yelp
Super friendly knowledgable staff. Solid assortment of nuts, flavors, methods, old school candies, popcorn, retail, gifts etc. Sampling is encouraged. We left w a big bag of real cheddar fresh popped corn, cinnamon almonds, Virginia peanuts, brittle, & chocolate covered mixed nut treats! Great little find!

Yelp
Maple Glazed Bacon Cashews are fantastic. Reading the ingredients...no bacon! I love it. Cashews, brown sugar, organic maple syrup, spices, salt and peanut oil. The store has a cute cartoon that shows "Nuts + Beer" but as a non-beer drinker but confirmed wino...umm oenophile... I can say these cashews are a perfect partner with a glass of wine; whether a nice Dry Reisling or a smoky Syrah. This I discovered while enjoying the MGB Cashews in Telaya Winery's tasting room where they are available in half pound sizes bags. That the people who work at City Peanut are so friendly makes the nuts they sell taste even better. I'm looking forward to tasting my way through the sweet and savory line up. I can see Boise gift boxes of wine and nuts for the people on my gift list this year for birthdays and holidays! The only drawback for their swell shop may be that it is in downtown Boise and parking can be a bear to find. So it makes it tougher to just pop in to buy. Which may be a good thing for my waistline, since in the "betcha can't eat just one" mode, there are always lot of creations here I want to try!

Yelp
We have been referring to City Peanut as the "Nut Shop, where it's fun!" (an obscure You've Got Mail reference) for perhaps as many as ten years now, and stopping in every time we're anywhere near Bannock for just as long, so I can't believe I haven't reviewed it before now. I stopped in yesterday to pick up a couple of pre-packaged bags of nuts as part of a gift for my husband's boss, who was visiting from out of state: we couldn't let him leave the area without a taste of some local businesses. My husband's favorite are the Brewers Nuts, and mine are the Maple Cayenne Pecans, but I skipped the heat this time and went for the Maple Bacon Cashews. There are so many amazing options at City Peanut, and they're always happy to let you try them, first, if you aren't sure which you'd like best. We love the nut shop--our only disappointment is when we stop by and it's closed! We're so glad they're a part of downtown Boise.

Yelp
I stumbled across this place while exploring downtown and had to go in because of the name. I looked around and they had all kinds of delicious looking peanuts, mixed nuts, beers, snacks, and dessert products. What made my day was the service though. The gentleman helping me out gave me great suggestions on what products to buy based on my tastes and also gave me great suggestions on where to go while visiting Boise. I'm so happy I came across this place. I ended up getting the Wild Lands nut mix which has a unique and awesome combination of flavors and was delicious!! What all around great customer service too!

Yelp
I would return to this unique shop just for the stellar customer service. Fortunately, the yummy goodies found within will also keep me coming back! Had a bit of an issue with an item purchased. Got in touch with the owner, Dan. He was such a wonderfully kind guy. He reinforced my faith in customer service. He showed how much he cares for his clients and how much he believes in his product. He had informed his staff ahead of time I was returning. So, when I went back in the shop no one was saying, "Uhhh...what?? Who are you? What do I do?" The gal working the counter knew who I was right away and had clear instructions from Dan on how to make things right. Way to go! By the way, we have had some fantastic goodies from this shop. I just love the uniqueness of this place. Some highlights: Pistolero peanuts Apple pie almonds Chocolate toffee macadamia nuts They make their own PB and I hate honey but their honey roasted PB was super addicting--think I'm almost out actually--must buy more! Cajun peanuts Pistachio brittle And hubby liked the caramel sea salt corn(I think that was the name of it) You can also sample the nuts before buying to make sure you like. Then, if sold by the pound, you can decide how much you want. Pretty cool to see their bagged nuts at my neighborhood Zeppole too. Love when local businesses work together! All in all, if you like nuts and/or chocolates, go here! And keep going back to buy local and support a great business with a great owner behind it!

Yelp
For the longest time - since they opened actually - I have walked by this shop and thought "Why? Why would people pay a premium like that for 'just nuts' cause they're 'special nuts'!?" Then I sat at The Barbarian Brewery and needed a snack to go with my beer. All they had were some VEGAN bacon maple nuts. "Cool. (I was kidding) I guess I'll take a chance." THEY WERE FUCKING DELICIOUS!!! Since then I go out of my way to get other flavors to go with my beer. It's worth every penny and more. I also make sure to recommend that visitors check this out as a "must try" in Boise. Everyone tells me they love it!

Yelp
City Peanut Shop is such a great find. It's a local place and you can get a huge variety of sweet and savory snacks and treats. I always stop in after walking to one of the 8th street lunch spots. Caramel and cheese popcorns, assorted nuts, candied nuts, as well as caramel, chocolate and sugared candies are all available! Stop in for something big or a small grab-bag and enjoy every little morsel! Food: I'm a huge fan of peanut butter. I tend to eat it right from the jar. So anything that is nut-inspired makes me super happy. Their caramel corn (with and without nuts) is so good (you can also pick it up from the Boise Co-Op). Every piece is coated and crispy, and even though it's a little pricey, it's well worth the cost. The cheese popcorn is great. Their nut varieties are so good. The cinnamon pecans, apple pie almonds and really any nut is a good choice (be adventurous and try the spicy ones... they're a real kick!). Be sure to try the dark chocolate cashews and the peanut butter caramels! They're heavenly! Drinks: n/a Atmosphere: It smells delicious as soon as you walk in and you can always tell what nut they're preparing based on the aroma. There's lots to look at and plenty to try. Ask for a sample--they'll hook it up! Service: The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They can describe the flavors of each nut or give you a sample. Happy Hour Offerings: n/a Healthy Hack: n/a Tips: Can't decide what to get? Ask for a little "grab bag" and get a little bit of everything! I usually ask for about 1/4 of a scoop of all my favorite nuts and chocolates and it ends up costing just a few bucks. You can't beat it!

Yelp
Sambal Cashews - came back a second time just to make sure I'd have some for the drive home. Owner was there both times which leaves a good impression on me. He entertained and interacted with my very talkative 4 year old with ease - also leaving a good impression. Very fun selection of munchies and quick to give samples.

Yelp
When you step into City Peanut Shop, your nose knows that it's totally nuts in here. Well, not totally. It's rarely ever all that busy or chaotic. Among other things, you'll find some chocolate things, some popcorn things, and some t-shirt things, too. Nuts, but not nuts. Know what I mean? Strictly s-pecan about nuts, you can grab a prefilled bag from the shelf or order from the counter. Personally, I lean toward the spicy-sweet flavors like Maple-Cayenne and Coconut-Curry. But if that's not your idea of fun, their variety is wide enough to soothe just about any nut-tooth. But don't let any of the flavors cashew off guard. The staff is knowledgeable and patient, and they'll gladly give you samples before you decide. Every once in a while they have new flavors, so that's a good raisin to return. By the way, do they even have raisins? Walnut just pay City Peanut Shop a visit and let me know... okay? And tell the roast of your friends while you're at it.

Yelp
If you enjoys snacks that involve peanuts, pistachios and popcorn that have been made even more delicious, this is a stop for you. My two treats of the day was carmel popcorn with roasted peanuts and garlic pistachios. Everything is roasted in house which makes the store smell soooo good. I love when the smells are as good as the food! Each treat was very flavor full and yummy. I had a hard time steeping away from the bags. The employees and owner are super duper nice, and I don't think I can say any more to convey how awesome they are.
google avatar

Yosuke M.

Yelp
Fresh peanuts. Fresh popcorn. Store-made nuts and candies. Friendly staff. Been going here for picking up snacks for the office for a few weeks. In addition to the freshly made peanuts and popcorn, there are a number of tasty store-made snacks which are worth a try. The theme of the specialty snacks seem to be mixing spice and sweet. The maple cayenne pecans are especially addictive, as are the chocolate covered pepper corn nuts. For the adventurous, ask for a taste of the Jolokia peanuts.
google avatar

Mitzi M.

Yelp
I received a bag of trail mix from City Peanut Shop in a gift basket. What a nice, healthy treat. The nuts were very fresh with various coatings. It also contained cranberries, sunflowers, soy crisps, and other munchies. I like that it was lightly salted. Needless to say, the bag of trail mix didn't last long in our house. I am looking forward to visiting the store.

Yelp
This little shop is AMAZING! I love all the peanutty goodness! Everything I've tried so far has been quality and delicious. Love that I got to try a little sample of a couple things when I couldn't make up my mind on all the delicious options. Make a point to check out this shop next time you are downtown!
google avatar

Yelp
What an incredible staple for this community. Truly original and truly delicious. Maple bacon cashews are the way to go for first timers. Visitors of the store will get a great experience. Anything you get will make a great gift, especially if that gift is for yourself.

Yelp
Great place to stop while your downtown. Freindly staff and fun to sample all the nuts! I found it a great place to get gift baskets! They also sell growlers with their logo along with Payette Brewery.

Yelp
Two words: *Yum Crumbs*. Only to be found at City Peanut! Tasty lil' bits and pieces of nut brittle that broke off the main bark all packaged in a lil' to-go Tupperware. Sold! 30+ kinds of easily offered samples waft out of the door the minute you get close. If you can say no, I dare you to try. But you will be missing out. Grab some old school nostalgia candy like rock candy, some hot roasted nuts and head to Crux coffee next. Perfect combo. Oh Yea, and that Almond Brittle that I bought for mom...never made it home. Trust me, it's hard! Now you just have to pick which version you want - Cashew, almond, or of course classic peanut. Yummers!

Yelp
Garlic onion pistachios make a great crust for pork chops! Wonderful variety of nuts. Am repeat customer :) highly recommend for gifts...always a hit with my relatives.

Yelp
This place is amazingly good! Their Maple Bacon Cashews are out of this world! The ghost peppers left me breathing blue flames! Even their chocolates are most special. Definitively a must visit. I plan to order their wares to my AZ home on a regular basis. I love it!

Jill P.

Yelp
Love this place-I ordered Wild Lands Mix they shipped it to Washington for me. They also put in some blueberry shortcake snacks (at noon cost) with a note saying "I hope you enjoy the gift from Jill". What Great service!! My brother-in-law loved everything!! Thank you
google avatar

Yelp
I have never been in just a nut shop before but if you like the bulk bin section of flavored nuts at the grocery store, this place is for you. Candy coated, spicy, maple bacon, - I mean every kind of flavor you can imagine. We tried the apple pie peanuts- those were good! This is definitely a treat and a local spot you should surely pop into if you're passing through the area.

Mary A.

Yelp
This is the "go-to" place for freshly roasted nuts. The aroma in this store just grabs you as you walk in the door. Peanuts are the most dominant nut here and they come in all kinds of flavors from very spicy cayenne roasted to Virginia peanuts complete with the redskins that we all savor and remember. Of course, mixed nuts and other nuts are featured as well. Caramel corns and other popcorns are also available as well as several chocolate bars flecked with nuts. Attractive gift sets are also featured with combos of flavored nuts. There are also a variety of brittles---the popular peanut as well as almond, walnut, pecan. The store also has a website and limited items can be ordered on-line as well.

M M.

Yelp
Fantastic. Awesome flavors. Fair prices. The spicy ones are spicy!! Leave room in your suitcase if you are not local. Great gifts. Free tastes help you make goid choices.

Alexandra G.

Yelp
Fantastic! I was trying to find a place to get some gifts from my trip to Boise. Glad to have stumbled in here... The owner and the cashier were both super helpful in finding vegan options and gave me a ton of samples. I bought a full bag of caramel popcorn (dairy-free!) as a gift. I also bought two smaller custom-sized bags of maple pecans (one as a gift and one for me to eat before I got home, since after sampling I knew I was going to be craving more and the gift bag would've been in danger). Very nice folks, delicious food for yourself or as a gift, and very reasonable prices. Would definitely go back.
google avatar

Amanda J.

Yelp
Great place! I bought my family a gift basket and they loved it. They already opened the gift and were chomping away when they called me....they couldn't resist I guess. Will return again in the future to purchase for myself or for a special gift.
google avatar

Yelp
I read about this place a while back (Boise Weekly maybe?) but it slipped my mind until the other day when I happened to be walking by. They have some standard off-the-shelf candies, but their home-made display case is the main attraction of this store. The owner and staff delightfully force-fed me samples once I admitted I like spicy foods. They have a large assortment of snack mixes and nuts. I took home several nut varieties, plus a half pound of peanut brittle which is the BEST peanut brittle I've ever had, including my own homemade stuff. They also have almond and one other (cashew maybe?) brittle. But seriously, the peanut brittle is to die for, and yes - they'll let you sample it first. Good stuff.
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
The employees and owner are so very nice and definitely willing to provide a sample of any of their delectable nuts. I am in love with their candied walnuts. They also have a great selection of nostalgic candies by the piece or pound.
google avatar

Brianne M.

Yelp
Just the aroma of this shop will get your mouth watering! This place is so unique and had massive amounts of different types of nuts!
google avatar

Nicole D.

Yelp
Great place for sweet and savory snacks. The City Peanut shop has a huge variety of nuts, popcorn in sweet, salty and spicy flavors. They also carry lots of old school candy store-type goodies. The staff are very helpful and nice and let you sample pretty much anything before buying. A great local company to support in downtown Boise!
google avatar

Lucy T.

Yelp
Great shop! We have become regulars, and cannot get enough of the maple cayenne pecans. I have to keep away from the brittles, because I will eat a whole box in one sitting. Love this place.

Brandi J.

Yelp
Amazing local peanut shop! Owner is an absolute gem and the staff are so sweet! The peanuts and cashews made it safe back to Indiana and they are a hit!
google avatar

Troy H.

Yelp
Best place for salted nuts and fantastic sweets! Fantastic flavors both sweet, hot and tangy. Must stop in the the downtown Boise area. Loved it so much I bought the wife a t-shirt.

Yelp
The owner was super helpful and let us try a ton of samples before we decided what we wanted. The Brewers nuts are my fav.

Scot S.

Yelp
If you like peanuts, these folks will tease your tastebuds with an array of awesome flavors. I'd also like to mentioned their Pistachio Brittle -- smooth, cream brittle enhanced by salty pistachios is irresistible (and my favorite non-chocolate sweet ever).

Jean F.

Yelp
We are new to the area and have only tried one flavor, Frank's Virginia Redskins, and they are awesome! A very damn good peanut. I cannot wait to try the other flavors.

Dennis B.

Yelp
Amazing Ghost chili peanuts ! Igniters.. Wow just wow. I Just ordered more Igniters and trying Reapers for the 1st time.. I can't wait ..
