This is a pizza that is a cut above most of the other pizzas you can find in Walnut Creek. The crust is the factor that differentiates their pizzas from others. It like eating a freshly baked focaccia - chewy middle and olive oil crusted bottom - outstanding, as long as they don't over olive oil it. I've tried a number of their pizzas and they all have fresh, excellent quality ingredients, - a stand out is their vegetarian pizza they call the California Dream, is a superb combination of veggies, including artichokes and crimini mushrooms and spinach - and a beautiful combination of delicate cheeses. Perfect flavor combinations and for gourmet pizza, the prices are extremely reasonable. So why isn't City Square packed at the dinner hour just like its downtown neighbors? I can only suspect that people just haven't discovered it yet... from the outside, it's almost impossible to tell that it is a live open restaurant inside. And people have to somehow find out that there is a new place that offers more than the usual run-of- the-mill pizza. Apparently they haven't discovered it yet. Hopefully they do soon so that this new restaurant can gain its well deserved footing.
