"City Square, previously Bierhaus, serves Sicilian pizza with light, bready square slices. The transition was made by the same owner due to challenges during the pandemic." - Lauren Saria

Service is great! Food is delicious. We were skeptical about the potato pizza but it was surprisingly good. Both pizzas needed some salt. Be careful ordering your pizzas, some of them don’t come with any sauce.

The sicilian pizza restaurant here is the best. It’s not too salty and there are a lot of toppings on top of the pizza. My family and I enjoyed lunch. We will come again next time.

Tried this place for the first time tonight and the pizza was excellent. It had a nice flaky crust (not heavy and bready like some Sicilian pies), and fresh and plentiful toppings. The Italian salad was also very good with a delicious dressing. And the staff was very pleasant. This is not your typical pizza joint - I highly recommend it (and being from NJ, I know my pizza).

Went last Friday night to try out the newest pizza joint in town. I was very surprised that it wasn’t busy at all at 6:30. We were able to get a great seat outside. I guess they have QR ordering and payments at the table but we just ordered old school, through a server. We started out with 3 beers. When they arrived, they weren’t as cold as we’d like them. The server took our order for a vegetarian style pizza. He told the large pizza was as about the size of the menu. It was actually bigger which worked out better for 3 guys. I liked that style crust, the toppings were scarce but what bugs me most, they don’t spread the topping all the way out so the 4 corners were under portioned. A lot of dough without toppings. We ordered a second round of brews and the server made an effort to make sure they were a bit colder. Overall a bit over priced for the amount of toppings on the pies. The service was average. Good location. Worth a try.

This is a pizza that is a cut above most of the other pizzas you can find in Walnut Creek. The crust is the factor that differentiates their pizzas from others. It like eating a freshly baked focaccia - chewy middle and olive oil crusted bottom - outstanding, as long as they don't over olive oil it. I've tried a number of their pizzas and they all have fresh, excellent quality ingredients, - a stand out is their vegetarian pizza they call the California Dream, is a superb combination of veggies, including artichokes and crimini mushrooms and spinach - and a beautiful combination of delicate cheeses. Perfect flavor combinations and for gourmet pizza, the prices are extremely reasonable. So why isn't City Square packed at the dinner hour just like its downtown neighbors? I can only suspect that people just haven't discovered it yet... from the outside, it's almost impossible to tell that it is a live open restaurant inside. And people have to somehow find out that there is a new place that offers more than the usual run-of- the-mill pizza. Apparently they haven't discovered it yet. Hopefully they do soon so that this new restaurant can gain its well deserved footing.

Really good focaccia pizza. Think crispy deep dish crust but more fluffy and without all the heavy sauce. Ill be back for the pizza and to try the sandwiches/warm goat cheese app

Went here this past Sunday with the family; both the food/drinks and the service here are absolutely top notch! Great selections of beer and high quality ingredients in the pizzas. Please give this place a try if you can!
