Big Market Beer Haven City Tap House Expands to Northern Virginia | Eater DC

"Opening next week in Ashburn, City Tap House brings its first Virginia location to 20736 Exchange Street across from One Loudoun Downtown Plaza in the former Hail & Hog space. The sprawling suburban outpost is outfitted with 40 draft lines and an extensive beer list featuring local, domestic, and European pours, plus about 30 types of bottles and cans. The familiar American pub menu highlights crispy fried Nashville hot cauliflower, ten-spice wings, and brick-oven pizzas like The G.O.A.T. (red onion, pistachio pesto, rosemary, and truffled honey); entrees include mustard-glazed salmon with cornbread panzanella and Berkshire pork collar, with weekly specials such as chicken and waffles on Thursdays and prime steaks and chops on Saturdays. Healthier options include salads and grain bowls topped with avocado, shrimp, chicken, grilled steak, or seared tuna. Dinner starts at 4 p.m., there’s a limited late-night menu until 1 a.m. Thursday–Saturday, and weekday lunch and brunch will be added later. The rustic-industrial design uses reclaimed woods from upstate New York and Lancaster County, exposed steel beams, roll-up garage doors to a seasonal patio, a six-foot fireplace, and Prohibition-era murals, while the centerpiece is a massive island copper-topped bar surrounded by communal tables and a dozen TVs; a 57-seat dining area overlooks an open kitchen and a private event space holds 80. Table 95 Hospitality Group runs this location alongside City Tap Houses in D.C. (Dupont Circle and Penn Quarter) and in Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, Nashville, and Chicago." - Tierney Plumb

We are hosting our rehearsal dinner at City Tap, and Amanda Francis (their Events Coordinator) has gone above and beyond to help us out and host an amazing event within our budget. She has been so accommodating and hosted the most wonderful tasting for us to help us choose our food (the food was amazing! Especially the hush puppies, hot cauliflower, and key lime pie). The event space is also so beautiful. I would highly recommend hosting an event here! Update post-event: we had the best time!!! Amanda had fresh flowers set up for us all over the tables, the food was amazing, the space was great, and I was able to feed 35 people with an open bar (by consumption) for $3000 (not including tax/fees). No one waiting long for a cocktail, and we were able to add some last-minute food items to bring for another Welcome Event that followed the rehearsal dinner. Highly recommend!!!

We love coming here. Over the past couple of years, we came here quite a few times. Just with friends for happy hour or with our family. Happy hour is always great, with great menu options both to drink and to eat. The cocktails and specials are often changed, making it fun to return. When we come with our little ones, we're never just put in a corner away in the back of the restaurant. We've basically been seated all over the place and they are very accommodating; from a kids menu with crayons to special water cups and more. Every dish has been on point, from the burgers to the salads to the pizza. Friendly staff and cozy vibes. Usually our top pic in One Loudoun when going out with our family. Although I do prefer the dinner menu, they do offer a breakfast/brunch menu too! The menus offer a bit of everything, making it easy to go with friends, usually something for everyone here :)

Google
Food was excellent! Cubano Sandwhich was amazing! The rigatoni Roma was awesome as well. Atmosphere was very laid back and mellow. The waitress Anna was very pleasant and helpful. Will definitely be back!

Google
A great place for drinks and food. Clean and smells great due to having candles burning around. The staff were friendly and polite. I would definitely go back here!

Google
Service was attentive and efficient. Chatty in an enjoyable way without being intrusive. I had one of the best burgers I've had in a while. My friends had a pizza that they liked very much. We sat outside which was great too. There's a lot of room and the place was mostly full.

Google
City tap was great with really good food. It was a little loud but not so loud we could not talk at or table. Our server was nice and did a good job but did know a lot about the beer and food and several times had us point to what we wanted on his ordering device. Which would have been fine but it was short cryptic descriptions so not sure how were to know if he did not.

Google
We visited during Happy Hour. Our server was great and attentive on the patio. Unfortunately, while there is an expansive beer menu, there were only 3 beers on happy hour and limited cocktail specials. Our nachos were pretty good and worth the happy hour price. Music got pretty loud at one point but volume was dropped back down. Nice place for a quick drink (assuming you like what’s on special) but not sure I’d spend a lot of time here.

Google
We hosted a wedding Welcome Party at City Tap for close to 100 guests and were so delighted with everything, from the food (great selection of hot and cold yummies), the ambience, the party space, and most importantly, the staff who made this happen! Events coordinator, Amanda Francis, was great to work with and kudos to the bartenders and our waitstaff, Charlotte and Juan Carlos (“J.C.”), who assisted us in every way possible throughout the evening, and even helped with the decorations and put lovely mini flower arrangements on all the tables! Our guests echoed our praises for this place. Thank you, City Tap, for being such a wonderful highlight for that weekend! We’ll be back!

Yelp
Came for happy hour on Wednesday. Javi helped us at the bar and was lovely. We had the happy hour hazy IPA, which was a Solace, Partly Cloudy (one of my faves!) The restroom was fabulous. Very peaceful. Don't usually comment on that but it was! Stopped back by the same night after my event and had a glass of wine and there was live music. Pretty cool for a Wednesday night! Will be back to try food and other treats.

Yelp
I came here a few weeks ago with my boyfriend for dinner. We had seen their menu online and already knew what we wanted, but when we got to the restaurant, they had a completely different menu than the one online so that kind of threw us off and we had to go for other items. For example, my boyfriend had wanted a grilled salmon dish on the website menu, but that was no longer on their actual menu. Our waitress was honest that they changed out many items on the menu that she liked and thought were good. I will say she was very straightforward and gave her honest opinion on what to order and what not to order. For instance, I had wanted the carne asada tacos but she recommended I do the shrimp tacos instead. She said those were tastier and I trusted her judgement. For starters, I had the charred Brussel sprouts. She had mentioned they were fried, but they were actually grilled and they were very tasty and cooked the way I liked. The shrimp tacos were also delicious and I liked the combo of flavors, especially the pickled onions and cherry peppers. My boyfriend opted for the ten spice wings. He doesn't care for fried food, and we asked if they could be baked but she said they bake them first and then fry after. I couldn't understand why they couldn't modify it by just not frying it, but she said it couldn't be done. They were very flavorful and he enjoyed them for the most part. Ambience is pretty relaxed. Lots of people were there watching the game and there were all types of people, from families with kids, to couples, and everything in between. Our table was spacious and it looked like a step above from the standard pub restaurant. I wouldn't mind going back but they should really update the menu on their website so it matches what's in the restaurant.

Yelp
City Tap is an essential element to One Loudoun. Quality food, excellent servers, and comfortable (and importantly warm) interior and exterior seating options. We came here for a quick dinner in New Years Eve amidst the expected heavy crowds. The theme was Cowboy night and seeing folks all around in hats and bandanas was a fun experience. I got the Tandoori Chicken Kabobs and the taste was excellent. The chicken fell right off the sticks, the tabouleh salad was refreshing and perfectly accompaniment by the pomegranates, and scooping the smooth hummus up with the pita was excellent. My only real complaint is that I found myself still hungry after completing the dish, although that might be more easily attributed to my appetite than the serving size. I recommend checking the menu ahead of times if you end up going on a busy night like we did!

Yelp
I'm not sure if 3 stars is a little generous or a little low. Apparently I've been here before and ordered a kid's cheesburger. Not sure when I came or how my visit was since I didn't review at that time. Hmm. This review will be for my recent visit. I wish I had the option of ordering the kids cheeseburger because I didn't want to order a large entree or any of the sides. I ended up ordering the Black Angus Tap Burger with mozzarella instead of yellow cheese and unsalted fries. I asked for well done, but it was a little too pink for my liking. I just ate it anyway...but it wasn't the best burger I've had. We were seated in the bar area, which was fine. Our server was nice and attentive. Unfortunately we came on a Saturday..so i guess that's DJ night? The music was just terrible, with maybe 4 good songs and some random Hindi songs. He kept trying to hype up the "dance floor" section. The music was just unbelievably loud for such a small area. I was just ready to leave. Would I return? Yea, probably...but not when the DJ is there!

Yelp
Look g for an easy outing? This is the place. And they have happy hour specials. Went here on a Friday afternoon and it was easy to get a table and the service was great. The ambiance was awesome with music and tvs. They also have live music after certain hours.

Yelp
Every interaction with team members was as example of how not to service customers. You know the people who indirectly pay you wages: **Slow to take drink orders **Half hearted recommendations on local beers **Forgot one drink on the order **Never checked in if we were good

Yelp
My first time here was for drag bunch and it was amazing! Our service was absolutely incredible. Dulce was our server and she was absolutely phenomenal. We had a group of 10 people and she never let out drinks be empty. Major shout out to the bartenders on staff as well, there was well over 100 people drinking in the restaurant and we never went more than 5 minutes without a drink which in most situations like this is UNHEARD OF! The drag show was also amazing! Great performers and a really well run show. The host was perfect. The food was delicious too. I loved everything about this experience and my group and I will be back for every drag brunch they have!

Yelp
I have come here a few times: a couple times with a friend and the most recent time was by myself. The first couple times, the service was pretty solid: we were seated quickly, and our orders taken shortly after we were seated. We got nachos and a couple other finger foods. The most recent time, I came in by myself in the afternoon. I was immediately greeted by the host, and I requested to sit at the bar. It took about 15 minutes (maybe even longer) before the 2 gentleman bartenders acknowledged me or even ask if I was ready to put in an order. I was only acknowledged when a lady bartender came in. She greeted me and asked if I was ready to place an order, which I was. I was waiting to get a margarita or long island iced tea, but with how irritated I was becoming waiting to place an order, I opted for a mocktail recommendation. She recommended a black cherry type of mocktail based on what I tend to like. She checked in on me several more times while I waited and after I had gotten my food. I appreciated her service; I didn't appreciate the other bartenders just ignoring me. that was a little bit annoying, especially since several customers who came in after me got waited on first. I had ordered the pulled pork nachos along with the recommended black cherry mocktail. Some of the nacho chips were a little bit stale, so it was a bit disappointing. The mocktail was a tad bit too sweet, but the bartender was kind enough to dilute it for me with a little bit more lemon juice and club soda. There was a live performer singing for some of the time that I was there. There were different kinds of groups that were in there: some families with kids, friend groups, solo diners, etc. It was a pretty laid-back atmosphere, and I quite enjoyed it. Overall, good service when I actually received one. Food was okay. I liked the atmosphere, but the food and the length of time I had to wait to actually receive service makes it unlikely for me to come back.

Yelp
This restaurant would be just as well placed in the parking lot of a shopping mall as it is in this tourist hub. The food is average, the service is unremarkable. The charred brussels sprouts were the best executed dish we had. Miso glaze was sweet but not overwhelming, pomegranate seeds pretty but didn't add much. Serving (appetizer) was ample for two. $12.25. Fish and chips was a mall disappointment. The fish, while dredged and fried, did not have the flaky deep fried appeal that makes the dish special, but instead was flat and added little. The fish itself was nothing outstanding. At $25, not worth the price. East side poke bowl was fine, a bit light on the fish for a $21 salad. Dressing was flavorful. Again, this food is fine if you are stopping in hungry and not too particular, and I am sure the real draw is the beer menu. But for dinner it is strictly okay.

Yelp
We wanted to venture out for brunch on this rainy Sunday and said we needed to try somewhere new that also offered comfort food options given the weather and we decided to give City Tap Loudon a try. We made a reservation and were promptly seated but it took our server a while to get to us although she apologized and her service was PHENOMENAL for the entirety of our dining experience (Michelle was her name) . We ordered their 10 spice wings, pretzels and pimento and the hangover pizza for appetizers to share. The star appetizer was the wings which I unfortunately don't have a pic of for some odd reason and the pretzels and pimento were a close second (I would come back just for the wings). For entrees we ordered the shrimp and grits which were a very nice spin on the original where these had a side of collard greens and 2 sunny side up eggs on top. They were DELISH! My friend had the pecan French toast and said it was delightful and sweet! We will definitely come back and probably sit in the bar area where they have TVs and show the games since we got to experience the more traditional brunch dining experience today.

Yelp
Great spot for a nice dinner! They have gluten free options which is amazing for people who have dietary restrictions. I've gotten a chicken burger with a gluten free bun and fries super tasty!

Yelp
*tap, tap, tap in* Let's tap into the review that you need to read! For starters, the entire staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially our waitress. I wish that I could have remembered her name but I would say that we came here, Saturday night before Halloween and were seated in the booth. Restaurant ambiance: as mentioned, it was the Saturday before Halloween, so the restaurant was perfectly decorated to match the occasion and provide that spooky yet sexy vibes. This place is great for sports fans, excellent for a cute date night, or some fun with friends! I had an absolute ball from start to finish. For my drink, I had the Halloween special which was the "Devil's Sangria" I wasn't too sold on it because it was a little too acidic and lacked liquor LOL so I ended up getting another drink (not pictured here) and that drink was AMAZING- the bartender didn't miss on the pour. For dinner, I had the Ten spice wings and my friend had the prime burger. The wings were DELECTABLE!!!!! Whatever the ten spices were, the flavors left me weak in the knees. It was absolutely delicious and the wings were perfectly smoked. I had a side of French fries with it but man, those were some delicious wings. My friend said that his burger was on point and that the bread was buttery soft. He also noted that they didn't miss on preparing the burger as ordered. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. No desserts were available nor ordered and that's okay. We knocked back a few drinks after our meal and had a great time jamming to a live dj, who was fire!!!! And catching glimpse of the World Series on the TVs at the bar. I live in DC and I am very familiar with the other location but I must say that this location is by far, my favorite. Both the customer service and food flavors were on point! Overall, I had a great time and wouldn't mind revisiting this place.

Yelp
Great bar food, great atmosphere, and an amazing revolving local selection of beers. Live music's and Dj's on the weekend. #LoCoAleTrail #VaBeer #Loudoun

Yelp
Had a wonderful holiday lunch and Bero was a great server! Very attentive and helpful :) Food was delicious and we will definitely be back! City Tap has never disappointed us in all of our visits.

Yelp
This place was pretty good. We tried a number of happy hour appetizers: pulled pork nachos, margharita pizza, corn crab cakes... I'm addition to the spicy cauliflower. All were pretty good. I ordered the shrimp and grits. I got Brussel sprouts instead of collard greens because I'm not too much of a fan of collard greens. My meal was satisfying, although i was between the shrim and grits and the chicken pot pie, and two of my colleagues got the chicken pot pie and were raving about how good it was, so it left me a little jealous that i ordered the wrong thing. Lol

Yelp
We were part of a large party that had a lot of pre-fix options. Drinks: The Old Fashioned was good and mixed classically. The Basil Margarita was the drink of choice for 85% of the party. However, the whiskey mule was an amazingly conceited drink. Food: Ten Spice Wings: Flavored extremely well, crispy and tender. Elote "Street Corn" dip: AMAZING... Easily the star of the evening. Korean Beef fried rice: The flavors were on point, everything was cooked perfectly. I personally want to shake the hand of whoever it was that created that broth at the bottom of the bowl Grilled Miso Salmon: salmon was ok. Slightly undercooked and we let them know, but when after the refire, it lost flavor. Service was very good, they were fast and accommodating. All in all, I would definitely recommend this establishment. Great food and ambiance. Plus it turns into a mini lounge around 10pm.

Yelp
Great local bar and restaurant in Loudoun! The nachos and the corn and crab hushpuppies are absolutely delicious! The service was great as we sat at the bar!
google avatar

Yelp
Took a long time to get a server and the buffalo chicken flatbread was horrible! Barely any chicken or flavor and it was just disgusting I ate most of it because i was starving but I wish I never ordered this Never again
google avatar

Danielle J.

Yelp
Made a reservation for 3 and we were seated immediately on a Friday night. The place was busy but our server was attentive and came right over to take our drink order. The restaurant had a nice vibe, we sat in a comfy high booth, lighting was a little dim for my old lady eyes, but my readers helped lol! We ordered the crab and corn hush puppies for an app. They were served nice and hot, with butter on the side and a delicious remoulade for dipping. Definitely recommend. My daughter had the grilled cheese and tomato Soup. She's very picky about her tomato soup but said it was delicious! Husband has the Cuban and said it was very good. I had the fried chicken sandwich with fries. The fries were ok. I expected crispier for shoestring style. The chicken was cooked well, but was a little dry in spots. It came with pimento cheese on top but not much. Overall, good dinner out at a new spot.

Yelp
Been for the lunch when my parents visited months ago finally got back for Happy Hour and dinner. From their cocktail menu, to their various selections on draft or the shelves, they have something to wet your pallet. Appetizers of pretzel cannot go wrong with anything you start with. Going over the menu it hit me when I saw Abe Froman, give me the call back to Ferris Buellers Day Off! That pizza hit the spot for taste and value just was there for the Sausage King of Chicago on a pizza!

Brigitte L.

Yelp
Love the appetizers here - but today I tried a chop salad and in no world does hard boiled egg and Kalamata olives belong in the same bowl! Hardly any ingredients in the salad - very disappointing and frankly, just not a good salad! Our pizza was mid (Four Fathers). Salty and whatever peppers were on there were so hot that they ruined the pizza. Crust was about as good as frozen... think we will stick to the drinks and the pretzel!

Vincent C.

Yelp
Very disappointing. Expensive but probably about par for this upscale area. Not unusual to see several 200k priced sports cars parked or driving around. Some variety of beers you can choose from by accessing their app thru a QR code. Tried the watermelon tequila, which was quite disgusting and undrinkable. Sour w excessive tequila w hardly any sugar for balance. Just a total total fail. And, at about $20, a costly mistake. Food selection not as wide as I would like. Mostly bar food, with a few exceptions. Burger was blah, nothing special, mediocre at best. Also pretty greasy unfortunately. Shrimp and grits w collard greens, sooooo salty to be almost inedible. Stomach felt a little queasy too after dinner. Only safe thing is the pork nachos but quite a bit on the spicy side for those who like it mild. You are paying for the ambiance and company, forget the food. There are many better options around. Big thumbs down. Weekend nights, they card at the door.
google avatar

Art D.

Yelp
I was not impressed with this establishment. Unfortunately, who represents you impacts the establishment. We had a waitress that clearly did not want to wait on us. There were 5 of us and we felt the cold shoulder from her. We had to request for her to come over, her attitude was bad the entire time. She brought a wrong drink to our table, I offered to take it but she said they could not do that and had to dump it out! Really! I don't want to say it was because we were people of color. I will just say she needs to work on her bed side manner. The food was not bad but could have been better if the service was in order. Not sure if I would recommend. They were quite busy and the bar area was jumping so as far as eye candy it is there for both men and women. Parking was not bad there is a garage nearby.
google avatar

Mark N.

Yelp
Everything here is good, but nothing great. Solid beer list, but nothing that blows one away. Had the BBQ meatloaf. The meatloaf was flavorful and juicy. But the sauce on top was too sweet and there was too much of it. The mashed potatoes were lame and lacking flavor. The charred brussels were great. Overall we would come back only if already at One Loudoun. We would not go out of our way to eat here.

Tatem P.

Yelp
We only ordered appetizers but every single one was delicious. The Brussels sprouts were arguably the best I've ever had. The elote corn dip was also very delicious. Our service was excellent and the music and vibe was great.

Jim C.

Yelp
In the year that I have been visiting this place, things seem to be going downhill. The setting seems great, cool bar atmosphere but the food and service has been lacking on our last few visits. The food seems to be full of surprises for how if differs from what the menu says. Be advised that there wherever it says "peppers" on the menu, they give you hot jalapeno peppers. We asked the served what kind of peppers came on an Abe Froman pizza and she said bell peppers. Nope, it came with jalapeno. The pizzas are bland and lacking - sausage, onion, multiple cheeses very scarce so it seems like bad cheesy bread. The last time there was a food error the server blamed it on the kitchen. The service is really bad. Often we are left hanging waiting for water refills, more alcoholic drinks, the check. Recently our server simply left us for other tables and we couldn't leave for a half hour. All food gets served at the same time (appetizer, salad, entree) so that the entree gets cold before we can touch it.
google avatar

Sarah N.

Yelp
The patio here is spacious and great on a nice day. We were cold so they turned on the heaters. The espresso martinis are amazing! The staff is super friendly and we had a fun day here.

Lee L.

Yelp
Cute place and the live singer is talented, but there is NO good reason for the speaker volume to be blasting so loud in such a small space. It was downright jarring and you can't even hear any conversation with the person next to you. It doesn't need to be concert area volume in a restaurant. If I just wanted to eat and not have conversation with the person I came with, I'd eat at home. Manager - I hope you take note and consideration in this feedback.

Cassie P.

Yelp
Pretty good. Fun atmosphere. Our server was excellent... very nice and gave great recs. I had a poke bowl- not something I would normally order at a place like this, however she said it was one of her favorites and it was hot out so it sounded great. It was delicious and super fresh! My husband had a salad and enjoyed it as well. The drinks were amazing... try a specialty cocktail!
google avatar

Michael P.

Yelp
Finally made it to City Tap with my son. We both had the poke' bowl and it was really good! The ingredients are much different than what I've come to expect in a poke' bowl, but the overall taste was fantastic! Highly recommended! In addition, we tried the hush puppies as an appetizer and the flavor again was really good. Our waitress was attentive and the music was good too! All in all, I would recommend this place!

Yelp
After doing some shopping around One Loudoun, stopped in for a late lunch. Place looks really nice inside, like an upscale Pub. Could probably turn the music down a bit. Service was good, decent menu. I had the Tandoori Chicken, kids had pizza. Both were pretty good, not exceptional (my chicken was a bit overcooked). But all came out fast, server was nice, I'll be back to try some beers.
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
I have been here a few times and have not been disappointed. They offer a wide variety if beer but their food is really the star of the show. Came here today with a friend for lunch. We came in right as they opened and noticed it started to fill up shortly after. We started off with the Nashville Hot Cauliflower which was really good. It was crispy on the outside and crunchy on the inside. Perfect flavor and texture. I got the Korean beef shortrib fried rice and my buddy got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. He crushed the sandwich in matter of minutes. The fried rice was good but could use a little bit more salt. If you like fried rice on the sweeter side, this is your jam. I've tried the Shrimp and grits previously and remember that it was very good and highly recommend it. Will be back to checkout some other items on the menu!
google avatar

Melanie S.

Yelp
City Tap Loudoun is a fun restaurant/bar in the heart of One Loudoun entertainment center. They have great food options that have always been tasty and a rustic, relaxed atmosphere. They also offer fun restaurant events through EventBrite, like an upcoming St. Patrick's Day Drag Brunch!
google avatar

Chris G.

Yelp
Good is delicious. Great ambience and service is friendly and fast. drinks are delightful. Place gets a little crazy after 10pm so late night with the kids not a great idea, and they're getting on the expensive side.
google avatar

Muthana A.

Yelp
Lot of beer options. Good drinks. BBQ meatloaf sandwich was great. Great flavor, perfect breading, and juicy. Service was pretty good. Both indoor and outdoor seating were nice.

Yelp
ASHBURN, VA / AMERICAN / 08-28-21 / DINNER +Customer service was excellent. Juan Carlos really took care of us. +The menu is limited, but the food was good. +Outdoor seating was nice and socially distanced. +Prices were reasonable. -Limited tap menu. I was hoping to see a lot more variety of draft beer offerings. -Limited food menu. Was hoping for a ribeye, but had to settle for a flat iron steak. Overall, it's a chill spot. The customer service is excellent. Would love to see some more interesting beer selections!

Yelp
The hazelnut espresso martini was hands down my favorite part of the City Tap experience. The food was good.. as a New Yorker being a pizza connoisseur is in my job description.., their pizza was ok, but for some it might be amazing. I really liked their ten spice wings and the cookie dough smash with icecream was okay. It was a little burnt/overcooked but still wasn't terrible. The service and ambiance were both fine. Nothing to complain about

Yelp
3/5. My friend and I came here on a Saturday night and was able to get a seat outdoors fairly quickly. The atmosphere was great, the weather was nice and the music was at a nice enough level for people to hear each other talk. The food was delicious, but the service is what killed my experience here. Could've just been the certain day, but I've been here before for breakfast/brunch and the service was great. However, my experience this time wasn't acceptable. For starters, my friend and I opted for the BBQ Pulled Pork Nachos. The portion size on this was good enough for two people to share and it was delicious. As for my Tap Burger, I asked for a medium rare and it was brought out on the medium side. No big deal, but the wait time did not make up for it. My friend and I waited over 35 minutes to receive our food, and it wasn't that big of an order to justify the wait time. Can't say what the delay was, but our waitress did apologize and the food was decent! Overall, I'd give this place a solid 3/5. The food was good, but the wait time just didn't do it for me. Maybe I'll give it another shot next time and update the review!

Joseph G.

Yelp
After another visit, unfortunately I am changing the review to be not very good. Most of the issues were caused by poor service. When our pizza arrived, the kitchen member did a quick job of dropping it off but we were left without plates until we could flag down a different server who was not our original server. Be careful if you order a pizza with cherry peppers, they are green (not red), very hot, look and taste exactly like jalapeno peppers. We received water and alcoholic drinks but at no time during eating appetizers or main course were we refreshed with water or asked if we wanted another round. A glass of wine and a beer cost $26 (pricey) but we would have had another round.

Yelp
We hit City Tap for the first time with a group of 12 for drinks, dessert, and bar food and had a wonderful time! Lily was so friendly, attentive, and definitely helped make our experience exceptional. Not only was she simply on point with the service but she suggested several great food and drink pairings and was so nice! We are definitely going to come back, thanks City Tap!

Yelp
Great food and great service! If you enjoy good bear and great food that is unique a bit, this is the place to go!

Yelp
Food was ok, not great. The outdoor patio is very nice. Cocktail selection was not extensive and the ones we ordered weren't very good.

Yelp
Avocado that came with the breakfast quesadilla didn't look or taste real. I added steak to the quesadilla which I'm glad I did. It definitely makes it a game changer. The sour came it came with has a reallyyy good spice / kick to it. It also came with a side of black beans which was good. The quesadilla comes with scrambled eggs, steak, onions, tomatoes and you can add a choice of meat to it. The steak could've been cut up better. My only complaint is adding the steak was an additional $10 ... for a few pieces this felt overpriced and like a rip off. The service: the food took some time to come out which probably means they made it fresh. Service was fairly quick and I got seated fast for a Sunday at 1 pm. Overall, I'd come back.

Yelp
Drinks are amazing, vibe is awesome for all ages and everyone enjoyed the meal they got. The burger and fries were to die for as well as the chicken sandwich. I had a sour beer that was delicious and want to go back to try the mussels and steak frites!

Yelp
i waited 30 minutes to get served and no one came but everyone around me was getting served and the servers that weren't busy at just standing there wouldn't attend me so i just left

Yelp
If I could rate my experience zero stars, I would. On Tuesday evening around 8pm, I called to place a take-out order. I've been a regular customer here for months, ordering at least once a week. However, after this experience, I'm not sure I can continue. The service I received over the phone was bizarre and rude. The person, Aaron, who took my order didn't ask for my name, provide an estimated wait time, or even confirm my order details with me. What's worse, when I picked up my food and generously tipped 20%, I was extremely disappointed. The "Ten Spice Wings" I had ordered was more like 0 Spice Wings. Bland and unseasoned. I've recommended these wings to numerous friends and family because of how much I usually enjoy them, which made tonight's experience all the more disappointing. Typically, I order on Fridays, so maybe that's why the wings weren't up to their usual standard tonight, but regardless, it was a letdown. Here are some photos of my "10 Spice Wings".

Yelp
Whoaa this GOAT pizza is truly the GOAT (greatest of all time). I was skeptical but when receiving it, the smells of fresh pizza and the taste of cheesy but slightly sweet. Too good. Highly recommend if someone does come eat here. Spicy shrimp tacos also really good. Really flavorful and very good tacos. Not too spicy either. We got it with a side of beans which weren't very good. I do want to come by and try the beers and their outdoor section when it becomes warmer. They do have heaters for the cold.

Yelp
We hosted a Baby Shower at City Tap, and couldn't have been more happy with the outcome. From the beginning, Jessica (Events & Marketing Manager) was a HUGE help in bringing our event to life. She was super responsive and patient with all of my questions/requests. Day of, Emily & Oscar were the BEST at taking care of our group, and even helped us setup decor beforehand. I would highly recommend booking your event here! Awesome experience from start to finish.
