City Tavern

We stopped by for a quick drink and bite to eat. Had the loaded fries, which were amazing!!!!!!! Also, our safe place after the events at NCA. Service was amazing, price was surprisingly affordable for being in downtown Dallas. Atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. Will definitely come back.

In summary, the friendly customer service I experienced was what saved this rating. I was dying of starvation and at the time, thought this was only one of the places I could go to. However, post food clarity made me realize that I would’ve been better off starving or going somewhere else because this was a waste of money - spent about 24 total 😭 The fries were salty and the wings (small af) were mixed up in the same takeout box, so it was messy to eat (AND HELLA SALTY). Thank god for the little amount of veggies there bc it saved me from a sodium overdose. Overall, would not go here for food but maybe for the vibes n drinks next time lmao.

Excellent food and drink. Outside patio is inviting and popular. Diverse people and excellent customer service.

Multiple people walked past us at the bar, made eye contact and didn’t even ask if we’ve been helped. It took almost 10 minutes to get service and keep in mind, there was only 2 other people at the bar that already had drinks. I was also served fish that was not done. The girl at the bar used her unwashed hands to sprinkle something on my food. I will never be back. Disgusting!

Cool little bar, menu had lots of American style options. Service was attentive and helpful, was our 1st night in the US so needed some help with beer selections! Only down fall was that the chips were cold. Would recommend

Not a great experience. The tap drinks were good. Chuck got the fish and chose salad as a side. It only comes with one piece of fish(the menu doesn’t tell you that) eye ordered the barbacoa nachos( Eye don’t recommend) the cook just piled the sour cream and guacamole and barbacoa on the chips and probably took a 1oz ladle of cheese to the outside perimeter of the chips. It was an insult to the culture period. So eye sent that back and got the lemon pepper wings that was cooked twice. Meaning those wing were already sitting to the side and cooked again. As Toby Keith said “I love this bar”. It seems like a neighborhood bar where everybody knows your name (that’s Cheers for those of you too young to know). The drinks are good and reasonably priced. They have cute merch, too. We always stop here when we’re in Big D.

Cobb salad had like premade chicken everything else in the salad was good. The nachos were not good at all, cheeseburger was very good. Drinks were excellent, service was good.
