Where to Eat at Newark Liberty Airport (EWR) | Eater NY

"An off-shoot of a Newark sports bar known for brisket and pulled pork tacos, offering hearty barbecue-driven tacos in the concourse." - Eater Staff

City Rub Cafe Newark Airport - Review - Newark Airport - New York - The Infatuation

"City Rub Cafe is small enough that you might walk by without noticing it, but it’s one of the best places to eat in the terminal. The seared ahi tuna salad and coconut shrimp are the perfect light snacks, and the crispy and moist chicken sandwich is cozy and satisfying without being too salty or rich. Plus, it comes with thick spears of well-seasoned steak fries." - Anne Cruz

The plus to being delayed...a fantastic place to get a delicious burger. I highly recommended the City Rub burger. Flavorful from the beef, to the greens, cheese, and sauce...love it. Best burger in years! Thank you.❤️🍔 Fries were seasoned and tasty. I also enjoyed the Cape May IPA.

Pretty solid with fast service. Staff were nice and the food was great. Not a bad spot to wait for your flight and get a quick bite.

In no world is a sandwich here worth more than $20. Parfaits are also just as expensive. The sandwich is not fresh, the bread is somewhat stale, and it had a little bit of a weird smell to it. There is a self order kiosk outside the restaurant. Staff are not friendly, and the atmosphere is fine with some seating available.

Felt good about this place. The ladies did a good job - I was greeted while waiting in line, brisket sandwich was delicious, and they came by during my quick meal to make sure I was good. Pleasantly surprised and I would return to dine here next time I'm in Newark airport

The cute place at Newark International Airport, Terminal A between gates A26 and A10 (yes that makes sense!) offers upscale food. I passed on salads and I saw people digging into some pulled pork sandwiches on egg buns. I went for the packaged tiramisu after I debated with the cheese cakes. Tiramisu was great for packaged. They also have a bar with lots of wine offerings, beers on tap, and local craft beers. Airport prices. CityRub Cafe offers accessible tables and chairs, some with window view of the planes and buses on the tarmac. They offer a lower accessible order counter. Accessible venue. Accessible restrooms in central airport area.

I Had the absolute pleasure of visiting CityRub Cafe at Newark Airport, and wow, I’ve never felt so… financially assaulted. $40 for a “chicken” sandwich and a small beer? A true bargain! I’m guessing the chicken fillet weighed in at a whopping 25 grams, with a lavish spread of two cherry tomatoes and a handful of arugula for that gourmet touch. Sure, it’s an international airport and inflation is a thing, but charging this kind of money is a bold move. And the dining experience? Top-notch—your food is elegantly served in a cardboard box with plastic utensils. Truly, a 5-star experience.

Nothing much to share on environment, it's a usual dining spot at the airport. I look up the screen to order the I and 9 South sandwich...but what i got was so far away from it that I asked them if I got the right item. They said it's diff just due to sauce. So I asked for more sauce bit got charged a buck for that too. All this after spending considerable amount for dinner drink and dessert along with a tip!!! Thinking back - no way that left picture burger is different only due to less sauce. It seems the ingredients mentioned some cheese - and the burger I received had NO cheese in it. So seems franchise owner is trying to save money and they also dont expect a customer to complain at an airport. Really.. is that how you rip off customers?

Google
Summary: overpriced, the order was wrong, and they left my order sitting in the kitchen. I ordered a $21 chicken burger with aioli, lettuce, pico de gallo, and avocado. The cashier says he will call out when the order is ready. At least 15 minutes go by and I ask about my order. It gets picked up from a nook in the kitchen, probably had been sitting there a while. The bun is soggy. I was so damn hungry that I ate it anyway and got halfway through the burger before I realized it had no avocado or pico de gallo. I did not bother returning it. All this said, this is still the healthiest option I could find in this area of the airport.

Yelp
Lisa Y, extraordinary service. She was happy, quick, flexible, respectful and courteous. I was so happy to have gotten service from her. Please acknowledge her hard work. It's not easy what she does considering the amount of people flood the counter. Kudos to Lisa, she's. Rockstar !!!

Yelp
Located near gate A26 of EWR airport, Cityrub Cafe has sandwiches, burgers, and appetizers like coconut and chicken wings. They also have a good selection of wine and beers. I got the Cityrub Burger with bacon jam, caramelized onions, and cheddar cheese. You have a choice of fries or side salad. The burger is juicy. I love caramelized onions on my burgers. It hit the spot while waiting to board. It is a small dine in area, but you can also carry food out. Friendly service, and it took about 10-15 minutes for my order.

Yelp
Food is great, service can be miserable. I've been here 30 times and sometimes the service is excellent. It'd be great if they could fix the attitude at the register.

Yelp
Service was amazing...food was fabulous! Great music playing and even though small dining area, very comfy!
