"Located in Cleveland Circle since 1985, this sports bar has a deck that wraps around the whole building, providing a lot of outdoor seating for a just-out-of-undergrad crowd. Hit brunch during a game, suck down an adult iced coffee spiked with vanilla vodka and hazelnut liqueur, and share some cheesy pizza bites with your crew." - Tanya Edwards, Eater Staff

"Does the second floor count as a “rooftop”? Batman would probably find it hard to see the bat signal from there, and all of his fights would draw a crowd of passer-bys, but since those sound like great plot twists for a satirical film, we’ll let it slide. Plus, you can almost see the Chestnut Hill reservoir from the deck at Cityside Tavern, so really, you could also say you spent your weekend sipping Mai Tais “by the water.” We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Our server was lovely and the atmosphere was exactly what you’d expect for a sports bar. Vibrant and busy. However the food was really poorly prepared. I ordered the Mexican bowl which came with a mayo sauce instead of salsa (there is no mention of Mayo on the menu). The bowl was swimming in oil. There was probably half a cup of oil at the bottom of the bowl which made it extremely unappealing. Everything was good about our experience but this meal was just gross with the amount of oil in it. Just a note to the kitchen maybe dry off the steaks or cook it in less oil. It also cost $23 which is extremely expensive for this type of dish.

We really liked this restaurant, good food, good prices and good service, but it took a long time for the food to arrive at the table. Fortunately I was not in a hurry. However, I would return to this place.

We hosted an end of year banquet for a student organization at Boston College and had a fantastic experience. We were able to book the entire upstairs to accommodate our group and have buffet style appetizers from 3-5pm. Kyle was great to work with and figured out the quantities of food based on our budget. The food was fresh and the staff were super friendly! They even gave us an extra half hour for everyone to say their goodbyes. We did not use the bar since we had some folks under 21, but they did cut and plate cake that we brought in and served that from the bar at the end of the banquet. They also hooked us up with a sound system and let us project on all the TVs. The students loved being at Cityside; and we definitely plan to have our banquets here again in the future. Highly recommend!

Cityside is our go-to spot in Cleveland Circle. Great menu that changes up seasonally and good, strong cocktails. Jessica J. is especially awesome, I have Celiac and she does too, she was able to guide me through their plentiful gluten free options!

With a party of 4 we arrived at Cityside to have our last meal before flying back to the UK after 4 weeks in New England and Canada. The Farmers Market Brunch bowl and Maple and Cinnamon pancakes were to die for. I must give credit to our server too. Izzy is outstanding. Cheerful chatty efficient and knowledgeable. She was a joy and both the food and Izzy left a lasting impression of a fab 4 weeks and beautiful Boston.

This is a traditional US pub located near Boston College. The food menu is not very expansive, and lately they've lost some of the nice details that warranted the roughly $3/item upcharge (such as stamping their name on the sandwich bun using a wood burner-type device) - they've also ran out of beers on tap (tap selection is mid size, probably 4 or so beers of each type, so 86'ing multiple beers on draft without replacements is somewhat inexcusable). I frequent this place because of its central location, and I've noticed one bouncer there consistently gets unnecessarily aggressive with guests, I'm concerned for his well-being, the danger he poses to other guests, and his lack of ethics as he consistently violates the law. This past Saturday, that particular bouncer was on shift and decided to target me and my friend visiting from out of town. It started because the upstairs was closed and nothing was roped off, he got aggressive toward us as we went to check out the upstairs and made it to about 3 steps, again, nothing was evident the space was closed from the bottom. We apologized and took a seat at the main bar for 1 drink each, paid, and walked away. We were casually walking and made it well up the road (Englewood Ave) and the aggressive bouncer grabbed me by the arm saying I skipped the tab. I explained to him I paid and I would need to call my bank if it's the case, well he continued to get aggressive with me and forced me to return to Cityside after a long time out on our feet when we were just looking to go home. The moment we return, the bartender told the bouncer that indeed we had paid and I was telling the truth (as was my bank). Despite humiliating me in front of my friend, physically and verbally assaulting me, the bouncer refused to apologize to me, demonstrating his lack of maturity. He then proceeded to ask me to leave when I asked for an apology - reminder he was the reason I was forced to come back when we were already well on our way! I was harassed by this man, both inside and outside the restaurant, while he was working here, it was clear he was targeting me all night. I'm also concerned as I've seen this same bouncer, when checking IDs, take pay outs to admit underage people/underage drinkers to the bar after stepping outside the view. Minors are not allowed to sit at the bar or to be served alcohol in the state of Massachusetts, no matter how much they tip the bouncer. All of these are in clear violation of Boston and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Liquor License Laws. The establishment has lost rapport among residents in the neighborhood, largely due to this bouncer. It is still very conveniently located, which would be the only reason I'd go back after these experiences. Hopefully they can avoid losing their liquor license with this risky & high liability bouncer. Below is an older photo I took in May from this establishment showing the wood-burned bun they used to detail and the amount of fries they used to provide with a meal (last 2 times, expect about half and not nearly as detailed/pretty looking)

Went for brunch and got chicken and waffles as well as the southwest benny to share with my sister! The chicken and waffles were really good well seasoned and perfectly spicy. And southwest benny wasnt anything special but the potatoes on the side were good! I def prefer this spot as a brunch spot as opposed to drinking since there was only bar space for just drinks last night — tables were strictly for dine in customers even at 10 pm.

Jessica J is genuinely such a sweetheart. I’ve had her as my waitress twice while being here and she’s hilarious, so attentive to our table, and has the best stories and drink recommendations. She has such a bright personality and brings such good vibes!! Ask for her if she’s here because she made our entire night
