Definitely try their Mac and cheese donut! With that, pretty much every dish we have tried was tasty. We sat for over 2h and really appreciated we were not rushed. I will likely return here for brunch.

Came to this place for a special reunion with a friend. Really loved my time. Screaming Rooster Shrimp was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend. Seared tuna and Shrimp rice bowl was good too. Mushroom flat bread was salty, but it went well with the pineapple non-alcoholic drink called "Queen in people's hearts". Interesting name. It was cold and refreshing. Sweet and tangy with pineapple juice. Atmosphere was great. It was hard to get the attention of the server sometimes (so gave 4/5 for Service) even though we had come early and it wasn't super crowded at the time. But when they saw us waving, the designated person or his/her colleague would come right over and everyone was very friendly. Also the bathroom was clean and well-maintained. Overall pleasant experience with fantastic food and drinks.

The drinks were great but I would not order food here. The portion sizes were smaller than expected and there was barely any rice in my sushi bowl. The bowl was basically standing up and ready to fall over.

Okay my boyfriend called this one. This is the AI version of high end food. No decisions made after my cocktail were good. I got a hanger steak with broccolini and “tatertots” and some sort of weird shredded potato stuff that while delicious was…confusing? My partners food looked like it had been half eaten before it got to him despite being a whole plate theoretically. End of the fry bin and some overcooked fish sticks? The plating made me laugh? I don’t know what anyone involved with this place was thinking. The food is just…well like someone let an AI make the food decisions. The cheese plate looked like someone had put an adult lunchables on a plate without even washing the grapes. The bar however saved the experience for us somewhat. The drinks were good if poured a little light.

Great food great staff great atmosphere. Definitely recommend to have brunch here. I really enjoyed my mushroom omelette, the egg is tender and melts in your mouth. The cheese and mushroom inside is also well seasoned. The grilled potatoes are really crispy and delicious. Highly recommend.

This place is definitely a nice spot to have group of friends to share plates with. The food wasn’t amazing but it also was not bad, just good. Everyone enjoyed their meals but definitely could have been better portion sizes. The drinks where really good based on what or waiter recommended.The staff there were amazing though and so kind so I’ll definitely come back again .

Very nice place! My friends and I stopped by for dessert on Friday night and everything was delicious (specially the cookie with ice cream and the lemon cake). The atmosphere was great. The stuff was very nice to us and super attentive. I decided to go back for brunch and I also had a great experience. We enjoyed the food and the cozy and fun atmosphere. We'll be back! :)

Civility Social House holds a special spot in my heart, solely because this is where I met someone really special to me. The server was attentive, vibes and drinks were good, but I rated 4 stars because I didn’t like my meal. I live in the area and I don’t know, it says a lot that I haven’t been back since my first visit when I frequent other spots in Assembly. Skip the short rib tacos, but the donut mac and cheese was good

Their pizza might just be borderline acceptable as children's food. We were so disappointed we ordered delivery instead of eating this. My first and last time here. They might be a social house, but they're not fit to serve food to anytime. Pretty much any place in town has better pizza than this.

I continue to come here despite its downfalls so let that speak for itself. Again everything is premade including the cocktails so not allergy friendly or at least that's what's been told to me multiple times. The meatballs? Yummy. Wish they came with some bread because they come with a lot of sauce. The Mac and cheese donut? Nothing to write home about. It's a Mac and cheese baked ball in donut form. Basic taste and meh. But it looks nice. The baked goat cheese? Totally fine and average. Disappointed in the bread and the flavor of any seasoning in the sauce or lack of. Also wasn't hot at all tho it came in cast iron and was called "baked". Bolognese is probably the best thing I've had here but was not anything I'd recommend. Basically if you'd like an inoffensive average night that makes you regret spending money but the food is just barely good enough that you justify returning? This is the spot. It is the Applebees of assembly.

A fairly newer addition to Assembly Row, this spot is a nice place to meet for a drink or food that's a step above the other chain restaurant options in the area. The service is very friendly and welcoming which makes it easy to return to. While the food in general feels more like standard pub food, their salmon entree is perfectly portioned with salmon that is well seasoned, greens, and rice. They also have a pretty nice liquor selection for those looking for an after work drink. Overall I'd rate this place a 3.5 as it's more for the convenience of the location that you would come here.

Food-3/5 Atmosphere-4.5/5 Service-5/5 We were looking for a place to have a nice outdoor dinner on a Friday night and landed here. We were immediately greeted by nice staff who gave us the option of eating inside or outside. We choose outside and it was the perfect night to eat outside. I chose the steak entree and substituted whipped mashed potatoes for the tater tots. The mashed potatoes ended up being the star of the show! The steak was cooked well but was a bit under-seasoned for my liking. The charred broccolini appeared more boiled and didn't have much flavor. I would definitely come back and try another entree because the staff was amazing and my margarita flight was tasty. The spicy margarita did in fact have a kick so I had to allow my husband to finish that one for me. Overall I think this place is worth the visit.

Had an excellent dinner at this spot located right off the assembly row stop near the T. The vibes were good and staff very friendly. I tried pretzels with cheese which had the cheese dip heated by a candle which was neat. Tried their chicken sandwich and for dessert the skillet cookie and ice cream. Huge amount of food for an excellent price. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this place for a casual dinner and drinks

This was our first time here. Vibe is nice. Decor like a nice pub. Wine... severely over priced! Priced more like a high end steak house. Meat and cheese charcuterie had potential.. but parmigian cheese is something you shave over food. The Brie and manchego were nice. The one of the meats was bologna! I haven't seen that since I was a child. The hanger steak was delicious but cut up on the plate in small pieces and spread out like you were feeding a child. VERY small potion made to look like more. I'm not a fan of tater tots.. but these were like mash potato tots.. very good. Overall... way over priced! The service was good... but would not return unfortunately.

Enjoyed the wine and atmosphere! Small things that weren't great here: at the bar you can't up charge or change the liquor in drinks since they are pre-made mixes. Food was nothing amazing but satisfied my hunger. Customer service was ok, nothing amazing, nothing alarming.

High quality customer service! Came here to explore the neighborhood while considering putting an offer in on a house. My husband ordered a brunch chicken but that was beyond excellent. I ordered the brunch burger medium rare. The presentation was lovely, but the burger was massively overcooked. No big deal it happens, even in my favorite spots. I decided it was not worth the calories, and ate the salad and potatoes that accompanied it. I also hate complaining about food and was so jazzed about the house that I didn't want to put a damper on the mood by asking to have the dish fixed. The host noticed I'd barely eaten my burger, and insisted on comping me my meal. It was lovely, and completely unexpected. The attention to detail was beyond excellent. It was obvious from my husband's meal and my sides that the restaurant is typically very good, but having an off day for the burger. Our offer was accepted! I'm hoping all works out and I may become a regular here!

Nonnoas meatballs 4/5 really moist and flavorful, not overwhelming. Tastes pretty similar to a standard meatball not too much Hangar steak 5/5 really like the sides it came with. Steak is tender and tasty with mushroom sauce. The tater tots are really crispy and not too oily. Also comes with shaved sweet potato and broccolini. Brussels sprouts and baby spinach 4/5 a really nice combo of crunch and fresh veggies. Mac and cheese donut 3/5 a deep fried ring of mac and cheese with a drizzled cheese sauce and bbq sauce on the skillet. Bacon on top. A fun concept but kind of dense and mushy on the inside. A nice crisp on the outside. Short ribs were 5/5 fall apart tender on a bed of mashed potatoes with a mushroom sauce. Cookie in a skillet with ice cream 4/5 really nice and soft. Too sweet for my liking but exactly what I expected. We went for New Year's Eve and Payton's service was excellent despite the rush! The food was definitely prepared ahead of time and came out luke warm but we didn't mind. Overall a really great dining experience and would definitely come again!

Staying nearby on our trip to the area, we thought this looked like a good place to have dinner our first night. Really happy with the choice. With a great patio area and sleek interior, it was definitely inviting. The weather was perfect for us to dine on the patio and I would say it's a romantic atmosphere. Great service and I enjoyed the food. I had the fish and chips. Great batter on the fish and decent flavor. Nice place in a vibrant area.

Met a friend from out of town tonight at Civility. Great menu, high quality food and an awesome server. Lou was attentive, personable and professional. We will return!

You only live once right? Might as well order something they call the "mac & cheese donut"... The name is sort of deceiving - I legit thought it was going to be a sweet donut stuffed with mac & cheese, but that is not the case at all. It was actually fried mac & cheese in the shape of a donut! When it is brought to your table, the server pours a cheese sauce over it, which is in addition to the cheese already in the mac & cheese. It's one of those rich delicacies that you only need a little of to get a lot out of it. I'm glad my husband and I shared this! For our "entrees" we ordered sliders off the $5 late night menu. My husband got the ranch chicken and I got the ribeye. We assumed the sliders were going to be tiny due to the price, however the opposite was true! The "slider" was the size of a regular sandwich on a hamburger bun and they were served with homemade chips. Not only were they larger than expected, but they were both absolutely delicious! My husband also got a small order of bolognese because he loves bolognese and couldn't help himself. He said it was very satisfying. I would definitely come back here if I find myself in the area again!

I went here a bit ago, the food was very good, I got their flatbread which was tasty and flavorful. The ambiance was soothing, almost elegant like as well. While the waiter was very sweet and the manager was there, making sure we felt comfortable and even making us laugh a bit. It was a nice experience.

I would definitely recommend checking this place out. I made reservations online for Sunday brunch (and was hoping to increase our party from 3 to 6 but there was no availability) and to my surprise when I arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty. That didn't matter because the service was amazing. Sabrina was at the host stand when we came in and also doubled as our server. She greeted us with a giant smile and genuine convo, and recommended excellent drinks. I was between two options on the brunch menu the French toast and the chicken and waffles. In listening to her light up about the chicken and waffles, my decision was made. It was a delicious decision! Bob (who I think was the manager) was also very kind and made a point to join us in conversation here & there. At one point we shared that we were thinking about the French toast and during our meal, he surprised us with a small plate of it! Everything I had was perfectly seasoned and tasty. Especially the drinks "good trouble" and "act of rebellion". I might return to the bar during the work week just to have another one of these! The decor is really interesting and unique. It's a little cabin like with a few of colorful portraits of famous people like Nina Simone and David Bowie or graffiti art. Comfy seating too. All in all, will definitely be back. Another great addition to Assembly Row!

Pricing: the drinks were a bit pricey ranging around 18-20 but the food is pretty affordable, some dishes being even cheaper than the drinks Ambiance: The ambiance is unique, I really enjoyed the art and all the colors, there's a huge American flag painted on the wall as well as iconic figures such as Audrey Hepburn and Princess Diana, there are TVs in front of the bar area to watch the game Seating & Parking: no parking, though there is Assembly Row's garage by AMC that is free for the first 3 hours Service: quick and nice Music: pop and sometimes a little country Bathrooms: male and female bathrooms Final comments: A must try spot on Assembly Row! Went to a gathering here and left full and happy :) although the food took a bit to come out, it was quite a busy night and the servers were very sweet. I enjoyed almost all the shareable dishes we tried, and portion sizes of most dishes were enough to serve 6 people. If you like sweeter drinks, the cocktail drink with "butterfly" in its name was amazing!! Tastes like a less sweet piña colada and made a great photo op before it's mixed. The atmosphere was vibrant and similar to that in any bar restaurant. It's also right by the orange line which was super convenient for me. Overall, I'd recommend this place for any social gathering you'd like to host, chatting and snacking just puts you in a good mood!

Really nice ambiance. The service was pretty good. I have celiac disease so I didn't feel like I had too many options. I just got a salad. I was surprised by the three different types of taxes on the bill. Food tax, liquor tax, and "kitchen appreciation" tax. Talk about Taxachusetts!

Had a phenomenal time at Civility Social House! Arrived around 6pm on a Wednesday night to a pretty full dining room and took a seat at the open bar. By 7pm, the restaurant was full and the bar had minimal seats remaining. Bartenders Julia and Tabitha were more than accommodating, offering suggestions and uplifting my menu choices. The Lollipop Chicken Thigh is a must do as an appetizer. Two huge chicken thighs prepared with Buffalo sauce and the most delicious home made slaw fulfill every craving of an elevated chicken wing. The Prosciutto grilled pizza was equally delicious, and definitely large enough to split between two people. The restaurant has beautiful prints of graffiti style, the type of setting for a date night or friends night out. Will definitely be returning for the food and staff, as well as their beers which are ever flowing!

Been dying to try out this restaurant since it came to Assembly. I went here with a large group and we all had great things to say. While the overall ambiance was great, my one complaint is that it was really hot inside and the staff would not turn on the AC. This didn't take away from our experience though. Our waiter was super helpful and friendly. The food and drinks were excellent! Will definitely be back!

We have come here a few times and had great experiences every time. The staff is always super friendly. We have tried a few different cocktails and they've all been delicious. The food was good too. Portions are a good size, perfect for splitting a few with spouse or friends if you like to try new things. Reservations can be made on Resy.

I live super close to Assembly Row so I LOVEEEE when new restaurants open to try. I visited Civility Social House last friday and really enjoyed it. Its kind of tucked away in assembly but the atmosphere inside is really nice and fun. I selected a low top table on my reservation but wish I had gone with a high top because I liked the vibe on that side of the restaurant a little better. I ordered a 10 oz glass of wine to start and ADORE that they serve some of it in a wine glass and bring you the rest in a mini carafe to add to your glass. It makes you feel like you're getting two glasses! Such a lovely touch. To start we had the Proscuitto Wrapped Mozzarella served with evoo, poached teardrop tomato, lemon dressed arugula, balsamic syrup, shaved red onion, and crostini. We also had Nonna's Meatballs. The were both super tasty but the meatballs were my fave. For my entree, I ordered the Pan Roasted Haddock with shiitake-ginger vinaigrette, shallot seared baby spinach, and jasmine rice. The fish pulled apart beautifully and the ginger flavor was perfect. I'll definitely be back to try more!

10/10 would recommend! Came here for the first time with my boyfriend for Valentine's Day and our Server Ashley was amazing! Ashley was super attentive, always came and checked up on us, and we had great conversation with her! Even with this being a new restaurant the food came out extremely quick and was hot and fresh each time. To start we had the Rock Shrimp (Ashley recommended) and I understand why! It was delicious. It was so good we had to try another app and also ordered the Arincinis. Also delicious! For main dishes I ordered the Hangar Steak Medium rare, and upon it arriving Ashley made sure to ask me if it was cooked to my liking. And it was cooked perfectly! My boyfriend ordered the Short Rib Entree and he loved it. We will definitely be coming back!

Would definitely recommend checking this place out and sitting at the bar. They have amazing deals for happy hour if you're at the bar. The cocktails are good and priced the same as a typical cocktail (about $14), the apps are half off during happy hour, and you can get discounted sliders. The bartenders are always really friendly and service is quick.

Ive given this place far too many chances. They recently started Brunch. Their brunch menu "sounds" amazing... they're regular dinner menu "sounds" amazing.. but "sounds" amazing is VERY different than "tastes" amazing. Absolutely everything Ive ever eaten here is flavorless. No flavor whatsoever. Id like to say its a fluke but its 100% consistent. There's ZERO seasoning or spices used in any dish. Whoever the chef is, it feels his or her menu is created to "sound" great and profit as much as possible. Theres been no regard for taste. This is how I feel the conversation went: "How do we make the most money? What if we just dont buy seasonings? that will save money!! We can create a menu that sounds great but wont bother fulfilling. Just give me my money, I want money, money money money, where is it?.. Millennials are dumb, they can be tricked into anything.. GIMME MY MONEY" I had very high hopes I gave this place the benefit of the doubt It did we wrong 6 times in a row Im done

Recently checked out civility social house, as a fairly new spot in assembly. Went there for drinks and appetizers early evening on a Saturday and were able to get seats at the bar. We ordered the charcuterie board and slider appetizers. The sliders were a highlight, would recommend. There were also large format share drinks, which I'll have to come back another time with a few more friends to try! It's a fun bar/restaurant to add to the assembly area.

Civility house offers top notch cocktails, and incredible environment and mediocre food. The flatbreads leave a lot to be desired. The Mac & cheese, both original and buffalo chicken are delicious. The Bolognese pasta was also very good. I still have not tried it but the Mac & Cheese donut is a production to be seen. There new happy hour deal, free sliders at 4 pm, increasing to $1 at 5 pm is awesome, you just have to sit at the bar and order a drink.

I don't want to give this place a low rating, exactly, because they did a lot of things very well. We went for shareable plates, and had the pear salad, the sliders, and the bakers goat cheese. The salad was fine, and the other two were really quite good, and not out of the cookie cutter mold you sometimes get around Cambridge and Somerville. I left 2/3 of my drink on the table. Not a great base spirit, and the fruit syrups were kind of mushy in flavor. My partner really liked his drink, though, so it may just be a bit or miss menu. Where it loses stars for me, though, is the noise. I spent probably half the meal staring around the restaurant trying to figure out how on earth they could possibly get it that loud. I have never been in a louder restaurant. I have been to quieter concerts. I could not hear my partner, 14 inches from my ears, without shouting. It was mindblowing. We gave up on talking pretty quickly and only really communicated via occasional grins when someone near us screamed something a little amusing. I mean, maybe I'd come back for a 5pm seating? But a 7:15 was kind of horrifying.

Cocktail was pretty good, could have been a bit more balanced with some more gin since it was a bit sweet and tart. The slider happy hour menu is a pretty good deal since they tend to be larger sliders. And the kettle chips that came with it were way better than expected.

A really fun place! We went to dinner and ate outside which was really great. The manager even stopped by and gave our dog a treat. The max and cheese donut was super fun and the flatbread was pretty good. The server was really nice and also gave our dog a bowl of ice. Really glad we checked this place out!

The Fish & Chips at this restaurant are the worst we've ever tried. They came out burnt and ugly. We sent them back. The manager appeared and tried to justify the preparation by saying: "That's the way we prepare it here". Other offerings here might be fine but stay away from the Fish & Chips. In this area, there are many great places to eat. This is not one of them. Don Turbeville

Amazing experience! It's been a while I've felt so welcomed at a restaurant. I went for my birthday and the manager & staff were very attentive and kind to our party. The food was amazing, playlist was on point, and the vibes were immaculate. I'm so glad I chose to celebrate here! Looking forward to coming back.

Great food for a great price. The arancini is to die for. Really good atmosphere all night! Hayden served us this evening and was brilliant, really attentive and gave a friendly service with a smile!!

First and Last time here. I couldn't figure out who they were trying to be. Was it modern farmhouse? Was it pop culture? Country? Who knows. The menu wasn't as expansive as I had hoped and many of the items listed they were out of. I had the short ribs, they were decent enough. But the service? Awful! Our server was slow and often times missing in action. We waited 15 minutes for her to bring us the dessert menu and when she did show up she had the wrong menu. The place just doesn't live up to the hype

LOVE the food. The sliders are amazing and the mac and cheese donuts are to die for. Cocktails are cool and crafty without the wait time. The pictures on the walls and lighting keep it sexy while also being family friendly. Highly recommend this spot when in assembly!!

The popular Mac-n-Cheese donut lacked flavor, however, the overall presentation was appealing. The rock shrimp dish also was bland and unappetizing. I wouldn't recommend ordering food but the service was outstanding! The decor is super cool and modern.

I've gone here once for their happy hour and it was great! Cheap sliders for several hours and good drinks. Only caveat is that you sit at the bar; they do bring out the food slowly, but you can still get 4 sliders and fill up during the happy hour 4-6pm. Pretty upscale sliders with ahi tuna, brisket, fried chicken. Good deal, would recommend!

A fun new addition to the Assembly Row restaurant scene! They offer $5 sliders at the bar on Monday-Fridays from 4-6 pm alongside homemade ranch potato chips. If you like spicy margaritas the Act of Rebellion is a can't miss!

Food reasonable priced drinks great location game on what more could I want another success by owners that it shows when they work there ..... Congrats can not wait to return with more friends

Food was less than mid. Was served lukewarm. Flatbread was okay. Mac and cheese was def not worth the time

*update. We were finally able to go back here when they were open. I was a bit disappointed. I want to love this place. I really do... The menu sounds utterly fantastic on paper, but on plate it drifts from expectation. -The angry butcher; a steak sandwhich that sounds fantastic but I found the meat to be very chewy. My jaw hurt by the end of the sandwich. The flavor was there but the meat was tough -Short rib tacos; they were ok. nothing to write home about, but not terrible. There was zero presentation. Its just two tacos on a very large empty plate. They were also a bit bland. the red onion had no flavor and the shortrib was a tad dry :( --the staple "Mac and cheeese donut"; I had flashback to "cheese wiz" being poured onto this as it never congealed at any point throughout the night as cheese should do. Its more of a cheese sauce than "just cheese" so be aware. Also the addition of BBQ sauce turned us off , this could be a personal preference. We simply think this ruined the dish as we tried to eat around it. I regret this one and wish we tried the Arancini. ---Prosciutto Flatbread; My biggest disappointment by far was the Prosciutto Flatbread. You should NEVER cook prosciutto but thats what they did. The prosciutto on this flatbread should be added AFTER cooking. It also does not go well with tomato sauce. The salts of prosciutto conflicts with the sweetness of the tomato sauce. This should be a white flatbread, no sauce (if thats what you could call this sauce.. it was reminiscent of Elios or tomato sauce on frozen pizza) .... and NEVER cook prosciutto. Overall it just failed for me. I really hope they take my advice and alter this flatbread. I have no idea what they were thinking here +The ambience is great, the restaurant has an awesome vibe, great decor and overall cool feel. +The waitstaff were fantastic and friendly but it was obvious they are new and nervous. I trust the newbies confidence will grow . -The acoustics could use some work. Some dampers on the ceiling. Its a very very loud restaurant. In the business thats by design in certain places to move you out as fast as possible to open up tables for more customers. The louder it is the more likely you are to drink, eat and leave, rather than stick around and take up room. This is not that type of restaurant though, so toning down the sound would be nice but doubtful.

The atmosphere is great the food is delicious and omg the cocktails 1000/10. If you come you need to try the Mac & cheese donut.

Came here with a friend on a weeknight for the progressive happy hour (4-6pm). The sliders are SO good, and the portions are reasonable. We didn't leave hungry! We had a phenomenal time sitting at the bar. Tabitha was the cocktail making Queen (Float Like a Butterfly was delicious) with a smile on her face the whole time we were there, and it was like she was part of the fun, friendly and chic ambiance. The manager was attentive, and even comped a dessert for my friend whose birthday we were celebrating! We will most certainly be back here. So excited to have a friendly neighborhood bar as a new go-to!

Found this place browsing restaurants near assembly row. The food was pretty good and the drink I had was yummy. The restaurant itself was very slow, must have been the in between time. The service was ok- I noticed someone coming in to eat on their day off and 2 of the people working going to sit with him. I sat for awhile without a drink. I had to tell the bartender (who was not waiting on me) that I would like a new drink (after I heard him openly complaining about a couple who had just left who had not left him a 20% tip). My 5 year old and I were having a conversation with my server about coming home from vacationing in Miami Beach when she started telling us about the last time she went her and her friend were out til 7am at the strip club and literally said in front of my child "I was like b*tch I need sleep!" After 2 drinks, the shrimp appetizer, my salad with salmon & kids chicken it was $92- a tad over priced especially for the poor service that was happening all around me. Probably won't be back but the cocktail was yummy.

Excellent atmosphere, food, employees, especially our waiter Hayden; personable, attentive, genuine. Get the donot and Cabernet franc.

Ironic that "civility" is in the name when the service we received at the bar was anything but civil. We were never greeted by either of the two bartenders and when we finally asked for a menu, they prioritized other tasks instead of bringing it to us. We left because the bartenders were inattentive at best and disrespectful at worst. Was really looking forward to visiting. Host service and aesthetic were great, but we did not feel that our patronage was valued, and likely won't be back.

A friend and I met here for dinner. We had the sliders, BBQ shrimp and grilled pear salad. Delicious. Cocktails were on point. Will definitely be back. Our server was great and the manager did the rounds to check in. Looking forward to my next visit.

Great service, Bartender Will made some great drinks and very attentive. We got a cheese board and some sliders. Food was good- sat at the bar and we had plenty of room with a few TVs on- dining room was packed- I think after 4p probably best to call for a reservation. Nice spot. We will be back!
