"The best boulangerie-breakfast in Santa Fe High-elevation baking might not always (ahem) rise to the occasion...but at Clafoutis, the French family that owns and cooks at this bakery/restaurant has acclimated perfectly to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. While it might be hard to tear yourself away from red-and-geeen- chile -on-everything while in New Mexico , if you do want to take a break from capsaicin for your morning eats, this is the place. Just to the northwest of the city's historic core, Clafoutis is one of Santa Fe 's morning institutions. You can get things to go, but if you wait for a table, you'll be served café au lait in a bowl along with "Bonne Maman" jams to transform perfectly-textured baguettes into "tartines." "Bonjour" greets you as you walk in the door, and your eyes will feast on the piles of pâtisseries beckoning from the counter. My wife and I had one of the best chausson-aux-pommes--in or out of France--that we've ever tasted. And, in a nod to local tastes, they even offered green chile to go with les oeufs... Be forewarned, though--parking is extremely limited, and weekend mornings are formidably popular. Un peu de patience: so worth the wait!"

It was so good! I loved my quiche Lorraine. It came with a side salad, and it was a super large portion size. They had a lot of menu options. I also recommend the orange juice. It comes with an actual orange on the side of it. It was busy and it had a cute atmosphere. The pastries were amazing too.

In the past, whenever I visited Santa Fe, coming up from Albuquerque, I would go to La Fonda French Patisserie since my family's French we would stop by for some quick pastries to bring home..... Well, my mother would always insist that I should go to Clafouti, but since I wasn't familiar with their location and was familiar with La Fonda I just never got around to it... Talk about regrets, let me tell you - I'M KICKING MYSELF FOR NOT GOING SOONER!! The selection of pastries and baked goods was absolutely spectacular, the food was to DIE FOR. As I said, we bring desserts home for everyone whenever we go, but an even better surprise was the final bill - it was way more reasonably priced than La Fonda's patisserie along with larger portions, not to mention easier parking... The proprietor and her husband are both French and are so good at what they do!!! Edit: I recently found out that around the holidays the pastry selection dwindles quickly as you get closer to the lunch hour

Yummy food for breakfast!!! The parking lot is big so there is no problem. We had a caramelized peach crepe and coconut French toast. Highly recommend!!! A variety of pastry with French flare and we couldn't resist the temptation for getting some to go. Love the happy atmosphere!!!

A perfect place to stop and eat French favorites. The best place to eat in Santa Fe, probably one of the best in the country (IMHO). Try the French onion soup, try any dish, try the pastries! Delightful cafe with wonderful service!

I was in town for a wedding and stopped here for breakfast in the morning. The food was so good. I think the French toast was the best I’ve ever had. The bread was super fresh and had the perfect crisp on it. All of the staff were very friendly as well. If I’m ever in Santa Fe again I will definitely come back!

Adorable little cafe tucked away inside the small town of Sante Fe! Went for the pastries, stayed for more pastries. Absolutely delicious and fresh baked! Lots of varieties too so there’s something for everyone. Check the schedule because they are open during certain hours.

The Cuban sandwich was outstanding, with avocado and green chili adding a delicious twist to the classic flavors. The white peach and pear nectar drinks were refreshing and perfectly complemented the meal. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere made our brunch experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

We went for lunch today. Atmosphere is great, friendly staff and fun decorations. Note, they should fix the toilet seat. We ordered the salami and prosciutto baguette sandwich’s with soup and salad. The soup and salad were great and really enjoyed them. The sandwiches were bland and fine, way too much butter. The pastries were all good and sweat.
