Delicious flavors: chicken enchilada, stuffed pepper, fish tacos, and the squash blossom appetizer was also very good. Try the Margarita flute. Pretty cool! The only negative was the rice and beans in separate containers with my fish tacos were not hot temperature wise. Check out the photos.

Had an amazing dinner here for our 4 year anniversary. Delicious mini chimichangas my husband enjoyed the chicken enchiladas. We had a surprise dessert with a sparkler presented to us at the end of our meal for our anniversary. We loved that. Great ambience, good service. The one critique I would give is the tables are too close together. The couple next to us were so close they could hear our conversation and joined in! We became best friends. It felt like we were at a table of four rather than a table of two.

Very good. Pleasant outdoor location with views of the mountain. We started with the stuffed squash blossoms which we enjoyed. For our mains we shared the shrimp tacos and the lobster tacos. Both were very good, but messy. We also had the street corn that was very good but too spicy for me.

Cocktails, drink them here. Food, eat it here. Reservations, make them ahead of time! The margarita flight was excellent. The Mezcalita was delicious and the Mala Santa was excellent. Gin martini come well chilled! Short rib empanadas come in four - tasty. Its sauce is a high scale tomato soup. Ceviche shrimp and the octopus were good. Not as lime forward as I wanted. Good sauce to go with it. Carne Asada plate and the taco meal were both good!

The outdoor seating at night was lovely and a vibe. Ordered the steak fajitas and they were really tasty. It was a bit pricey for 3 people to dine and have one round of well drinks. It is Palm Springs CA -so I will expect to pay more. I would recommend my friends and coworkers to try this place especially at night time with the pretty ambiance.

We came here after hiking at the Joshua Tree National Park. Dinner was delicious. Serverice was superb. There was a nice bar there and every tables were all outdoor. We are glad we found this restaurant, although many restaurants were closed or not operated during Easter Sunday.

We visited this spot during our weekend trip for cocktails and appetizers. The ambiance is consistently beautiful, and the staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and full of great recommendations. Our Mala Santa and Te Enamore cocktails were both refreshing and hit the spot in the 104-degree heat. My boyfriend's Refrescado was a bit weak, but he really liked the Tres Agaves. For food, we enjoyed the chips & salsa with guacamole and lightly fried calamari. This place always impresses. Their drinks and food are consistently excellent. It's definitely one of our favorite stops when we're in town!

Clandestino is always a must-stop whenever I’m in Palm Springs. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere pulls you in with its warm, stylish vibe that’s both lively and welcoming. It’s the perfect spot to relax, enjoy the scene, and soak up the Palm Springs energy. The food here is absolutely amazing—every dish is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Whether it’s small bites or something more filling, the menu never disappoints. You can really tell the care that goes into the ingredients and presentation, which makes the dining experience extra special. On top of that, the staff is always super friendly and attentive. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and well taken care of, which really adds to the overall experience. Great food, great vibes, and incredible service—Clandestino is hands down one of the best places in Palm Springs!

Yelp
Wow. What a great experience. All of these were scrumptious. Squash Blossoms Light and fluffy. The batter used was wonderful Cochinita Pibil Fragrant and tender. The green salsa that come with it is sensational. Churro Ice Cream Sandwich Crunchy and chewy churro without being oily and heavy. The vanilla ice cream seemed like a vanilla custard style ice cream. Intense vanilla flavor. Watermelon Lemonade Refreshing and a strong watermelon flavor Traditional Margarita Not too sweet and lovely The service was kind, empathetic and attentive. I have to say, the majority of food I have had in Palm Springs has been mediocre at best. It is so great to experience food in this town that is raising the bar. The ambiance it vibrant and moody. Great work! Looking forward to going back.

Yelp
Take me back! On our last night visiting Palm Springs, we wandered down to Clandestine and what a delight in every single way. The vibe is an elevated casual with outside and open air seating leading into the bar. Our visit was in February and a colder day, but the heaters were fantastic and the view of the mountains is spectacular (hopefully that skate park is never replaced by a building). From the moment we arrived, service was wonderful. This team is organized and works together and incredibly friendly. We had great suggestions from our server and our glasses were never empty. Now. The. Food. Fried squash blossoms had the most delicate, tempura like fry. Incredibly flavorful and bursting with cheese. The plate is served with some pieces of the yummiest squash and corn. I will probably be dreaming about these for a long time. We split two entrees and both were delish. The carne asada was perfect and came with a roasted jalapeño with the most amazing flavor (warning: it packed a heated punch). The cauliflower mole, omg. They cook this for two hours and the sauce is so rich and delicious. If you are an omnivore, you will not miss the meat in this hearty and delicious dish. The chocoflan was a perfect ending and thank goodness we shared that too. It was bigger and richer than expected and oh so yummy. We learned after that Clandestino owners also have Tac/Quila, which we wanted to visit and ran out of time. They describe Clandestino as the moody sister!

Yelp
We stopped here for dinner during the Thursday Night Village Fest. We ate outside at the smallest table. The mood was romantic with a small lamp and black and red themed dinnerware and flatware. The food presentation was beautiful but in small portions. The chimichangas were delicious though the most petite ones ever. My taco el pastor was dry and could use more cilantro onions and pineapples. Not the best. Service was loosely attentive.

Yelp
In the area, so I was looking for someplace good to eat. This restaurant came up at the top of the list on Yelp when searching for restaurants in Palm Springs. There are seats at the bar, but all the tables are outside patio seating. Cool vibe. The Margarita flight was so good. Really strong, in terms of alcohol. Can't tell you which one was my favorite. All four were delicious. The Arco iris salad is as delicious as it looks. Beautiful presentation, and healthy ingredients. The dressing was a light vinaigrette. The waitress recommended the churro ice cream sandwich. So tasty. Large enough for two to share. The churros were hot, soft, and fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because my meal was delivered before my drinks. When I looked around, it looked like everyone else was getting their drinks before their meals.

Yelp
I'm going to base this review on my most recent experience at this restaurant, which wasn't really all that enjoyable. There were a few problems. First of all, this is a very popular restaurant. The main seating area for this restaurant is in a covered patio area. So, from this, you get a lot of fresh air. One of the downsides to this, however, is that sometimes you'll have somebody smoking right outside the boundaries of this restaurant. From this, you may be getting all that smoke blowing your direction, kind of putting a damper on the general vibe of your meal. Also, the tables, and the generalize seating structure in this restaurant, are fairly close together. I get it, they want to maximize their customer capacity. But, in doing so, it kind of takes away from the overall intimacy of your meal because, you are going to be forced to listen to your neighbor's conversation due to the fact that you are sitting so close to them. Personally, I really don't like this. In terms of my most recent experience at this restaurant, the number one big problem was, and I consider this a big problem, is that we ordered our drinks, the server put our drink order in, she came back sometime later to take our meal order, and that was that. The problem was, we got our food before we got our drinks. This is not a good way to treat your customers. I believe that we all prefer to enjoy a little conversation over cocktails, before our meal arrives. This was not the case with my last experience at this restaurant, however. I actually had to ask the server, where were our drinks, after the meals were delivered, before we were actually given them. Bad, bad, bad! In terms of the food at this restaurant, it is always well prepared. It also comes with a very nice presentation. You can tell they use a lot of quality ingredients, and they really take their time to make their dishes look very pleasing. Overall, this is one of my frequent stops when I'm in Palm Springs. But, this restaurant has its drawbacks. Just keep that in mind.

Yelp
My wife and I made a quick overnight stop in Palm Springs to break up our weekend trip to California. We wanted to eat somewhere nice after a long drive from Phoenix. My wife found this place on Yelp and we decided to give it a try. It's a pretty small place and most of the seating is outside. However they had plenty of heaters to keep us comfortable. Service was fast and friendly. We started with some of their craft cocktails and they were Devine. The Squash Blossoms were delicious and not something that you find on a lot of menus. The green sauce was fantastic with them and a must try. The carne asada tacos were so tender and flavorful. However it was the churro ice cream sandwich that stole the show. The ice cream tasted homemade and the crispy churro paired so well with it. I would come back just for that desert! This place is fantastic and definitely worth a try!

Yelp
Squash blossoms are seriously NOT to be missed. We've eaten a lot of them over the years and these were bar none the most delicate and sumptuous blossoms served over a bed of zucchini and yellow squash with onions and amazing sauces. Second, do the margarita sampler. It is visually stunning and each drink is absolutely delicious. They have a slightly cleaner flavor in the small sampling glasses rather than the fill size earthenware glasses. We loved the cuke margarita. The sangria infusion came in a very visually stunning decanter but was nothing spectacular taste-wise. The shrimp ceviche is served on homemade corn discs with small bursts of jalapeño. It was good and topped with plenty of shrimp. The chicken enchiladas were really loaded with moist flavorful chicken and topped with sliced ripe avocado and sour cream. They were very delicious. Carne asada platter was super flavorful and a tad chewy but overall a good dish. Our server was fantastic and the dining atmosphere was very enjoyable on the outside patio. Plenty of heaters and blankets. We really enjoyed our meal.

Yelp
Very enjoyable experience at Clandestino! The restaurant inside is very small but the patio had a nice vibe with tons of heat lamps for cool December evening. They have nice hedges so you don't see the adjacent parking lot. Nice string lights to create a cozy vibe. Drinks were good - not amazing but very solid. My Te Enamore was considered the winner at our table. The presentation of the Sangria was super cool but a wee bit over priced. I loved the Carne Asada plate... tortillas weee fresh and steak cooked perfectly. The steak fajitas were deemed good but needed more meat - go with the Carne! You won't be disappointed with dinner here. Enjoy!

Yelp
This is the just the cutest place ever. I love that all the seating is basically outside under umbrellas. It's definitely a vibe. The inside has a long beautiful bar that looks out to the patio. The staff were amazing and very nice. Everything we ordered was amazing. The oysters , the short rib empanadas , guacamole and salsa , the fish tacos . They didn't miss. I highly recommend going. My drink was very good and had me feeling even better. This restaurant is top tier.

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. Hip, trendy spot with margaritas and Latin American / Mexican dishes. Prices air on the high side but typical of a spot like this. Margarita Flight ($24) was strong and yummy - it was fun trying all the flavors :) They don't skip on the thick mango nectar/puree. The Guacamole, Salsa, and Chips ($15) were really delicious - they give you an entire tub of guacamole! My BF enjoyed the chicken fajitas ($30). We sat at the bar, and service was very attentive.

Yelp
My girlfriends and I were looking for a Mexican restaurant to eat for dinner and we came across Clandestino. We did not have a reservation, but was able to be seated on the patio on a Saturday evening. As soon as we sat down, I was already impressed. Each chair had a blanket to put over your lap during dinner. There were able ample heat lamps so we did not get cold. I started with the watermelon juice (non-alcoholic) and it was so refreshing. For my meal, I ordered the guac, salsa, and chips and the arco iris salad, with salmon. You can tell everything was prepared fresh and the presentation was gorgeous! My friends also enjoyed their cocktails, apps, and entrees! We all asked for the churro ice cream sandwiches to go. They packed our churro "buns" separately from the ice cream, which was appreciated. We came back to our Airbnb, immediately put on some comfy clothes, and ate our dessert while yapping about all of the things. This was a top tier Saturday night/girls night dinner. I'm so happy wr stumbled across this place on Yelp!

Yelp
They have a lot of specialty drinks and the food was very good. Great service. Was in Palm Springs for Modernism week and wanted to take my girlfriends some place new. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Dinner time in Palm Springs score the Thu night street fair led us to Clandestino, tucked away from the street near the Marilyn Monroe statue. 50/50 patio seating and bar this is a comfortable place away from the noisy action on main street. Menu is typical for the area with their twists on classic Mexican fare. The Cadillac was made from fresh lime and not syrups and the taste was spot on. My wife had a La Dama and it was different but in a good way. The fish tacos (sole) were ok. Fry was perfect, portions ok, but it needed something like a sauce or dressing to make it pop. The rave here is the home made tortillas. It makes the difference in any taco. My wife's beef short rib was good with solid Mexican flavoring simmered into it. The dessert, churro sandwich, was good as well. It was a good finish to dinner. So if the food was meh, why the 5 stars? Because the service was in point. Our server Shawn was attentive, welcoming, informative and helpful. If you follow me you know that service makes the dining experience and can forgive many sins in the kitchen. Shawn was on it. 5 stars for Shawn! Good enough that I'll be back when I'm in the area.

Yelp
This moody, upscale Mexican spot was fun for drinks and snacks before walking around Villagefest. My friend and I sat at the bar and while the chairs are super comfy, they are also kind of heavy and hard to scootch in and out yourself. I appreciated the purse hook under the bar! I ordered a margarita flight, which was presented really beautifully and so delicious. The flavors were all unique and not too sweet, nicely balanced. I think the hibiscus was my favorite, but they were all good. We also ordered chips, guacamole, and salsa. It was a super fresh and tasty snack to munch on and I'd definitely get it again. The menu was really intriguing with interesting tacos and other dishes, so I would come back and try some tacos! Our bartenders were super friendly and attentive. I loved this spot and I'm glad I wasn't scared away by the upscale vibe, because it was really comfortable and everyone was very welcoming. I believe they take reservations, which would be a good idea at busier times as it didn't seem to be a huge space.

Yelp
Good food. Both the steak tacos and fish tacos were great and felt like well priced. The service was very good as well, and it's a super cute spot. I think $10 for chips that tasted a bit stale is steep, and didn't like the salsa much, but the rest was definitely worth going to.

Yelp
Came here for dinner after arriving to Palm Springs . The restaurant is located in the main area where the shops and other restaurants are located. We arrived and we were able to get seated right away. It's a great dinner spot , it has plenty of seating. It is mostly seating outside but it's very nice and if it gets too cold they have some sarapes ( blankets) you can use. We started with some drinks , my husband ordered the Vicente Fernandez and I ordered the Margarita flight. My husband absolutely loved his drink , it had a subtle passion fruit taste. My margarita flight came with a mango , cucumber and strawberry and hibiscus flavored. My favorite was the mango and hibiscus ones. For started with some short rib empanadas. They were just right not too heavy or filling and very tasting. For our entree my husband ordered the Mexican Osobucco. I went with the trio ceviche stack which was fish, shrimp and octopus served with chips. Let me tell you that my husband dish was legit! The rice was nice and fluffy and the meet was tender ! The sauce on the meat was not spicy but a delicious mole sauce. My ceviche was also very tasty and fresh. Had the right amount of lemon and all the seafood was amazing. I had to ask where the food originated from and was told it that the chef was from Jalisco. No wonder the food was delicious. To finish our meal we ordered the pan de elote. Wow, that was the right decision, because it was delicious. If I am ever back in Palm Springs we will be back.

Yelp
Food was good. Ambience was really good with Mexican music playing in the background. Very friendly staff. The prices were a bit high but not crazy. Wish they had a lunch special. Not sure if they have happy hour. Will definitely return.

Yelp
Possibly one of the best meals I've had in the US. Impeccable service, beautiful patio dining, tasty curated cocktails, and food was incredible. We started with short rib empanadas, squash blossoms, and chips and salsa. For the mains, fried sole tacos, and enmoladas. We ordered both the "Te Enamore" and "Felipe Orlando" cocktails. A dining experience not to be missed in Palm Springs! Do not miss the squash blossoms!
google avatar

Rhonda C.

Yelp
The service, food, and ambience were exceptional. Staff is extremely knowledgeable on the menu. Many vegetarian options available. The squash blossoms were tasty. The enmolada (enchilada with mole sauce) was out of this world. I have not had mole sauce this good for many years. We will definitely return here when we are in town.

Yelp
Was in town for a department retreat and we settled on here for dinner. It was still blazing hot at 8pm, but nice enough to have dinner on the patio since they have fans with misters. Not much ambiance since it was a Monday night, but it has a great layout for entertaining which they could take advantage of on busier nights of the week. The customer service was on point, they were super attentive, water glasses were never empty. The food was so delicious!! Everything we tried was so good, I would become a regular if I lived here. My main meal was the shrimp fajitas. Shrimp was cooked perfectly, peppers were seasoned, the corn tortillas tasted freshly made, the rice was delicious, but the beans were undercooked and lacked flavor. All in all, solid dining experience from start to finish! Food rating Chicken nachos 9/10 Squash blossoms 7/10 Elote 9/10 (nice spicy kick!) Shrimp Enchiladas 7/10 Customer service 10/10 Ambiance N/A

Yelp
Very trendy spot! Glad I was able to grab some reservations! Those fried squash blossoms was one of the best things I've ever eaten. But overall the food was amazing! The drinks were also very yummy! The service was excellent from the moment we walked to the front. Also, we just got engaged here last night! It was perfect as I noted it was our anniversary and they brought us a beautiful flan with a sparkler and so happened he got on one knee too! I'm so glad this place exists...can't wait to come back and celebrate here again.

Yelp
The whole experience was nice. We noticed this place just by walking by one night. The crowd was lively which always is a good sign. Stopped by to see what the fuss was all about. I don't know how long it's been open but never noticed it prior time in Palm Springs. Following night, we stopped by again with some friends for dinner. The majority of the restaurant is outdoor with a few tables inside and the bar area which also has seating. But everything is mainly outdoor. They do have plenty of the heavy duty fans flowing out air with misters. Menu, it does have a good selection of cocktails. As well as food, a wide selection of starters and mains and tacos. Their mixed samplers margaritas were great, pretty nice size as well with four different flavors. Each one was great and presented beautifully. Starters, we had the calamari. It was nice but could have been a little crispier. The tempura avocado, big chunks with the dipping sauce and pickles onion. Main, the chicken fajitas were nice, the chicken enchiladas and shrimp tacos were great. Service was great, staff were all amazing. Beautiful view of the mountains but dining during the day could be extremely hot. Even with the fan. It was still pretty hot for us and we had dinner around 8/9pm.

Yelp
I came here because Tac/Quila was packed. I was very impressed with everything here from the decor, the service was excellent, and the food and drinks were very delicious. We ordered the nachos to share and it was very filling but also damn good. The steak was the star of the show, it was flavorful and juicy. I just wish it had more steak on the nachos. The drinks were also very delicious, colorful, and some were stronger than others which I can appreciate. Thank you Clandestino!!!
google avatar

Liz L.

Yelp
Wow, this is the best food I've had in Palm Springs. Hands down. Service: we were seated quickly, our order was taken and all questions easily answered by our waitress. It has a popping vibe, which is always a good sign. We ordered: octopus ceviche, crab and shrimp cakes, lobster tail, and trio quesadilla. Everything was great but the cakes and lobster tail I would come back for repeatedly. I would plan a trip back to Palm Springs just to dream about these dishes.

Dining With The Davids F.

Yelp
We're Dining with The Davids, and when we go to a restaurant, we bring a large group of friends whom we refer to as our "taste buds." We sample either the entire menu or the chef's favorite and then vote for our favorite to truly discover the best dishes on the menu. Our group had an incredible dining experience at Clandestino in Palm Springs! From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was perfect--whether relaxing at the bar or enjoying the stunning mountain views from the outdoor seating. We had the unique opportunity to try the best dishes on the menu, and every bite was amazing. The crab and shrimp cakes with roasted poblano sauce and the fried squash blossoms stuffed with Oaxaca cheese were tied as our favorite appetizers. For the mains, the carne en su jugo stole the show--rich, flavorful, and a must-try. The grilled lobster tail tacos and Camarones al Mojo de Ajo were also outstanding. To finish, the house-made flan was an absolute delight, and the pan de elote was a close second for dessert. Every dish was packed with bold, authentic flavors that left us wanting more. If you're in the Coachella Valley, Clandestino is a dining gem you won't want to miss. Five stars all the way!

Debbie B.

Yelp
Fantastic! We enjoyed sitting outside overlooking the graffiti park with a margarita and amazing food. Don't miss the squash blossom appetizer. We got the special; a pork dish, and street tacos. Service was excellent. 10/10

Estele K.

Yelp
Food 5/5: if I could give 10 I would. The meat was melting in my mouth, short rib empanada was very delicious and went well with their sauce, aguachile's shrimp was very fresh and juicy, lobster taco was I would say this is the best mexican food I've ever encountered. Service 5/5 Ambiance was good for hangouts, dates, family. Indoor outdoor seatings. Cannot recommend more!

Yelp
Seriously one of the best meal and drink experiences. Had cauliflower mole and it was divine! I'm not vegan, but couldn't resist this healthy dish. The cocktails were amazing and the ambience was fun. Loved the patio with umbrellas.

Yelp
My 1,000th Yelp Review!!! Starting of the "thousands" in style to review one of my favorite new restaurants in downtown Palm Springs, Clandestino! If you are looking for a restaurant that has a great ambiance, attentive service, amazing margaritas, and exceptional food. This spot is a home run. I don't think it's possible to come here and to not like this place just because they are doing everything right and create a wonderful dining experience. I plan to come back here as often as I can, it's a great place to bring visitors to Wow them but also solid for the locals who want to indulge in a nice meal. Clandestino is tucked away and not easy to find off the main drag of downtown Palm Springs. It's actually behind the main boulevard and make sure you have your directions on so you can spot this place. I actually like that is a hidden gem because I could only imagine how crazy busy it would be otherwise. I'd highly recommend making a reservation but I also saw a group get in ahead of us without one but I think that's only because they came pretty early before the rush. With a reservation though we got a prime table half inside the restaurant but still off the patio. This was nice as it was cooler than being under the sun umbrellas and let us get a good feel for the lively bar area. The decor is fantastic, very romantic and trendy. Great for all occasions - birthdays, girls brunch, date nights etc. Service was phenomenal from start to finish. Our waiter was very attentive and nice. He paid attention to little details like rushing us over small plates when an appetizer came and ensuring our cocktails remained full. The bus boys here are also super on it, water was always filled and dirty plates taken right away. I was happy the service wasn't pretentious seeing as this is a little bit of a nicer restaurant. Everyone was really lovely and friendly. Service is definitely 5 stars here based on my experience. Cocktails are amazing. The best margaritas I've had in the desert thus far. I'd highly recommend getting the margarita flight so you can sample their top 4 flavors. Normally when I get a flight I only expect to like a few of the servings but in this case all four margs were refreshing and delicious. Flavors included mango, cucumber, hibiscus, and guava. Seriously not a bad margarita in the bunch. After the sampler I went with a full glass of the guava margarita but again, you can't go wrong. The food was delicious and gorgeous presentation. The food was incredibly fresh and again, stunning if you are a foodie who really cares about presentation and getting a good picture! I feel like everything has to be good here as the proteins are generous and the flavors really were wonderful. We started with the fried squash blossoms which were recommended and our waiter also told us that is their number one appetizer. Get this! Lightly fried and the melty cheese inside was divine. One of the better appetizers I've had in a long time and more unique then traditional Mexican appetizers like chips/salsa or taquitos or something. Definitely splurge for the unique bites like these squash blossoms but I'd also love to try the calamari next time. Our meals were super tasty. My friend got the steak nachos and those were a slam dunk. Some of the better nachos I've had in a long time. Presentation was A+ and I've never seen such huge avocado slices and avocado that was so perfectly green. Definitely an Instagram worthy dish that will leave you super satisfied. Steak per request was cooked medium rare and I can't stop thinking about this dish. I opted for the shrimp enchiladas which were good but I'm also picky with seafood enchiladas. My personal preference is a creamier seafood sauce which would be more pink or white. Here it's a mid orange sauce with a little bit of a kick to it. It's definitely a delicious dish because the shrimp was generous and another pretty presentation but I like my enchiladas a little more rich when going with a seafood enchilada. I do think the majority of people would like this version, but I would just try something else next time. Overall this restaurant hit all of the marks and I'm eager to come back again soon. I love a restaurant that lives up to the hype and downtown Palm Springs is really lucky to have this spot. I just want to note for the average person it's a $$$ meal if you want to get the full experience. Two cocktails, and appetizer, and a main ran us each close to $100 after tip. I don't think that's outrageous or anything but I know the average tourists and such might be shook by that price point. You can definitely go and dine cheaper but like I said we wanted the full experience knowing everything was going to be amazing here. And it was, a total 5 star restaurant from start to finish.

Yelp
Located in the heart of it all in Palm Springs.. just 100 yards away from the giant Marilyn Monroe statue outside of the Art museum. Indoor and outdoor seating and when it's not too hot they open the glass so it becomes one big space. Full bar with everything you could want.. Great food for sure and just as an FYI .. most dishes are large enough to share...makes the dining experience much better. Dinner for two with an appetizer, mains, one desert and drinks is about a hundred bucks without tip. Pretty standard these days. The difference here is you get gourmet food!

Yelp
We got here right at opening, 12:00 noon. This restaurant's glass walls open up, making it more of an indoor bar with most seating outdoors. The decor is great--zebra stripes and lots of colors. There is a cool mural that reminds me of something kind of loosely based on Picasso's modern art. The lighting fixtures are gorgeous. I liked the touch of live flowers on every table. By the time we left, the place was pretty full. Our very sweet server brought us our cocktails and food. Hubby got a salmon taco with rice and beans. The salmon taco was big, with a piece of salmon the size of a dinner portion. The rice was SO good, and the whole pinto beans were also pretty dang good. I ordered a healthy grilled avocado salad. It was good with it's sweet corn and grilled asparagus and grilled avocado and cilantro lime vinaigrette. We will definitely return the next time we are in Palm Springs, although I may get something less healthy.

Yelp
Amazing little hideaway! We all got the flight of margaritas - and we all loved them! My fish tacos were spectacular and my friend got the short rib taco and said it might have been the best she ever had. It's all outdoor seating, but not unbearably hot considering. We really liked the staff too - friendly, helpful, and just nice. You can't overstate how rare that seems to be in the world! Get the Margaritas!!

Yelp
Clandestino is clandestinely located off the main stretch so there's not a ton of foot traffic which is kinda nice. My family and I stopped by for a late, late lunch. The patio is cute and very convenient if you enjoy dining al fresco with your dog. They have a good sharing menu. We ordered the following: -stuffed guerito peppers ($18 for 6): with chorizo, Oaxaca cheese, and chipotle mayo -deep fried calamari ($22): smoked crema -chicken nachos ($22): refried beans, cheddar, Monterey Jack cheeses, ranchero sauce, pico de gallo, avocado, jalapeños, and Mexican crema -sole fish ceviche ($18): carrots, onion, cilantro, tomato, cucumber, avocado + lime on corn shells My family loves a good nacho and these were very good - it had a good amount of perfectly melty cheese. The chip to topping ratio was perfect and portions were generous - a solid nacho situation. We also loved the sole fish ceviche. A generous portion of sole is piled high on not one, but two tortilla shells. These were meaty pieces of fish with just the right amount of tang. They have several iterations of ceviche which I'm sure are equally as good. Honestly, everything we tried was very tasty - cocktails included. Highly recommend if you're looking for Latin/ Mexican inspired cuisine.

Yelp
This restaurant is amazing! The outdoor patio is relaxing with plants and flowers everywhere. We had the short rib empanadas that were perfection and delicious. The squash flowers were delicate with two dabs of sauces to drag them through each bite. The raw oysters were served in an extremely cold wok pan. They had finely chopped peppers and onions. The homemade cocktail sauce was superb. The drink list was expansive. We each had the French sauvignon blanc. Pricing is very reasonable. Service impeccable!! This will be a meal stop when in PS.

Yelp
I had a nice dinner with my wife. I called ahead and the said no wait, but in the ten minutes it took to drive there, the wait ballooned to 45 minutes. Ouch!!! I didn't even ask if they took reservations. Next time -- make reservations! Lucky for us, there were two seats at the bar and Trevor, the bartender, was awesome (as was our sever, though I didn't catch her name!). The ambiance was great and it was full of people eating and drinking and enjoying their Saturday night. Onto the food: -fried squash blossoms: a massive winner. I loved the presentation over a bed of squash/corn. Crispy, gooey, salty and paired with red and green salsas. This is a must order! -tacos al pastor: simple and good. -vegan tamale: my wife approved. I think it was an appetizer, but she had a late lunch. I can't say enough positive things about our dining experience! Thanks for a great evening!!!

Yelp
We drove in for a conference and needed to find a place to eat for 6. Yelp didn't steer us wrong! Clandestino was amazing. The margarita flight was gorgeous to look at and just as tasty to drink. -- Cucumber, Mango Chamoy, Jamaica and Guava yum! If you're a fan of mezcal and whiskey like I am, then Te Enamore (Mezcal, Whiskey, Amaro, Lemon Juice, Agave, TamarindoSyrup, and Bitters) is the drink for you- it is flawlessly balanced and dangerously delicious. The trio ceviche has sole fish, octopus and shrimp and was stacked with avocado. I really appreciated the balance of acid and seasoning. Oftentimes ceviche is just a citrus bomb. Every bite was harmonious both taste and texture. The reviews for salmon were good. I tasted a bite- it was a bit too bland for my taste- especially compared to the flavor bombs on the table with the rest of the food. The Mexican Ossobuco was incredible- good bone marrow is hard to find, and this one, with all the amazing flavors and the delicious barbacoa made for really fantastic eating. My only complaint -- not enough bone marrow - haha!! The churros were light, well cooked and delicious. Excellent service and a lovely outdoor patio with strong fans made for a wonderful dining experience on a beautiful, balmy 85° Palm Springs night!

Yelp
We wanted unrivaled Mexican. We wanted raucous libations. We wanted a lifelike atmosphere. We wanted outdoor comfort with indoor overflow. Yeah, we wanted it all. And we got it all, Clandestino Style. Here's what we ordered: THE SMOKED OLDE FASHIONED (4) THE ESCAPE IPA (7.1%!) (5) SHORT RIB EMPANADAS (5+) SQUASH BLOSSOMS (4.5) SHRIMP FAJITAS (4.5) STREET TACOS AL PASTOR (5) POZOLE (4) OYSTERS ON THE HALF SHELL (3.5) Must haves are the IPA, the empanadas and those squash blossoms... outrageous. I don't imagine everyone can enjoy their own personal "Cindy" (waitress) when here - as she certainly has many Clandestine tables to deal with, but she sure was a cheery, smiling part of our night.

Yelp
Good outdoor heating! Like lots and lots of heat was actually really mice to sit outside in crisp winter air. On the other hand, food was a total fail. One of the worst fries I've had for fish tacos in a while. Ceviche had been made much earlier that day and just came out dry and over limed. Guac was meh at best. Cocktails were meh Solid pass - would not come back.

Yelp
First, I highly recommend getting reservations early. We waited until the afternoon on the day of and the earliest was 8:45p. We went anyway - lucked out - table for 2 was available! We were immediately greeted and seated by two smiling hosts. Shortly after seated, water was poured and our server greeted us. Sadly, I don't recall the servers name but they were very attentive, friendly and patient with us. Clandestino is all outdoor seating which is great! I noticed they do have outdoor heaters. I don't know how they handle cooling the patio for summer - we'll see! We had the short rib empanadas for apps, sweet mole vegetarian & chicken enchiladas for dinner then cocoa flan for dessert. Oomph. We over ate but so damn good! My mouth was really popping over the flavors in the mole. I kept trying to guess at the ingredients! The chilis sauce for the enchiladas was just right amount of spice. Easy parking at parking garage by Marilyn. Great place just for two or a group (but get reservations for group). They're right downtown so nice to walk after your meal to window shop or people watch. Totally be back!

Yelp
The Sole Tacos were SO GOOD. Perfectly crispy and soft and juicy on the inside. One of the best fish tacos I've ever had. The ambiance was also very cool, gave me vampire lair vibes. The service was also great, he was very attentive and friendly!

Yelp
Great location right by the Marilyn statue. My mom and I came here for some Mexican food and margs! Neither disappointed. We split the stuffed squash blossoms and soyrizo nachos. We really enjoyed both vegetarian options. If you love cheese, you'll love the stuffed squash blossoms especially. I ordered the cucumber marg - it was really refreshing! The ambiance was fun - the colors and lighting make for a fun experience. The service was quick and friendly.

Yelp
This place is just NUTZ! It's so good. Better than their sister restaurant TAQ Quila. Better than Farm (their other sister restaurant.) This is their flagship. We've been to Taq Quila and didn't particularly enjoy it, so postponed going to clandestino. I really regret that now. It's amazing. Service is top rate. The meals are visually appealing and so creative. And portions are HUGE. We were unprepared for the plethora of food that was delivered to us. Flavors are amazeballs. Portions are epic. Wait staff are teh ossum. What are you waiting for? (I know; I should ask myself the same thing!) Mea Culpa!

Yelp
We come here every year! Everything is so delicious especially the calamari! Love the vibe and outdoor seating. Parking is easy, there is plenty of public parking across the street. I recommend come early because they tends to get very busy .

Yelp
Shawn our server was extremely professional, knowledgeable about the menu and a delight to speak to. His suggestions were delicious. The food was perfection. The restaurant is all outside, but there are plenty of heat lamps and blankets. Even in January, we were comfortable eating outside. Happy to celebrate my birthday here.

Yelp
Yum!!! The food was delicious and the area was relaxing. The service and staff - good !

Yelp
We recently hosted fifteen friends for a birthday party. Since I love the food at Clandestino, I was happy to learn that they also offer catering. Victor and Jessica provided everything for a taco party and it was almost as if the restaurant came to us; the bar, the tacos, and the service was so exceptional I don't know whether I'll ever want to cook for parties again. Order the shrimp, taco and beef tacos with all the sides and your guests will rave!

Yelp
My group was going to be spending one day in Palm Springs and wanted to have a nice dinner so I got to work researching. I was finding that a lot of restaurants are cute looking, but lacked in food quality and I wanted both. I stumbled upon Clandestino and felt like it had the best of both worlds, cute looking, good reviews on the food - I was sold. We booked a reservation about 3 weeks in advance to our trip. The day of, they called us about an hour before our reservation to warn us about wind and sand but it wasn't an issue at all once we arrived and we appreciated the heads up. Clandestino is easy to find and there's ample parking nearby. We were sat right away and you get great mountain views and you're off the main strip, so it's not so loud either. Our waiter was prompt, attentive and friendly. We started with chips, guac and salsa and the beer battered avocado. Everything was delicious - especially the guacamole. Generous portions as well and we even got more chips for free without even asking. Our drinks were yummy as well. I got the shrimp enchiladas. I was a little let down by the creamy chipotle sauce, as it tasted more just like a red sauce, but the shrimp was fresh and cooked perfectly and the sauce was still good. Someone in my group asked if they had hot sauce, and they brought out two deliciously spicy handmade salsas. We got the Mexican street corn as well, which tasted good but was a little too soupy for me. We were stuffed and unfortunately had no room for dessert although I definitely wanted to try the churro ice cream sandwich. If you're struggling to pick a place in Palm Springs, this would be my rec! Great atmosphere, delicious food and friendly and attentive service.

Yelp
If I could give this restaurant and their team more stars, I would! I was planning a special birthday but needed some guidance. Liz and team worked with me to create the most amazing celebration with incredible food and cocktails. Worth every penny and I can't wait to use them again. Perfection and Cris the catering lead was professional, responsive, and very attentive. Love it when it all falls into place for someone special. Thanks Liz, Mark, and team!
