The 25 Best Birthday Dinner Restaurants In London - London - The Infatuation

"At Clap, a low-lit Japanese restaurant in Knightsbridge, special occasions are marked with tantalising crispy rice and black cod lettuce bites, and well-dressed, economically blessed people fill the room. The outdoor terrace—perfect on warmer nights—is the ultimate photo opp and if you’re after more of a party atmosphere, the upstairs bar and lounge area has a DJ most weekends. It’s expensive, but very good, so it feels like you’re getting your money's worth." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, heidi lauth beasley

22 Restaurants Great For A Group Dinner In London - London - The Infatuation

"When you’re planning a dinner for a group of friends who refuse to meet before 8pm and focus as intently on the cocktail menu as they do the food, Clap is a good shout. You need to walk through a long dramatic corridor and take a fancy lift to get to this low-lit Japanese restaurant in Knightsbridge. Special occasions are marked with tantalising crispy rice and black cod lettuce bites, and well-dressed, economically blessed people fill the room. In fact, we’ve seen an entire football team dine here before." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, heidi lauth beasley

The 20 Best Set Menus In London - London - The Infatuation

"Walking through Clap’s dark wood-filled space, the view of Harrods impresses from one side, and sushi chefs expertly mince salmon from the other. And the sky-high prices on the a la carte menu at this Japanese Knightsbridge restaurant make the weekday lunch deal taste even sweeter. You get two starters (choose between our favourites like the salmon crispy rice and shrimp tempura rolls) and a main (yes, the black cod is on there)." - jake missing, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

Clap London - Review - Knightsbridge - London - The Infatuation

It’s OTT but it works. Crispy Shrimp & Chu Toro Any sushi roll filled with fried shrimp is one we’ll probably enjoy, but this one topped with minced tuna with a yuzu truffle dressing is exceptional. Rich from the truffle and zesty from the yuzu, it’s a very satisfying balance of flavours. Salmon Volcano Purists will roll their eyes in disgust at the sheer amount of spicy mayo poured all over this sushi roll, and even though we love spicy mayo, it was way too much sauce. It's tender, light as a feather, and has a slight sweetness from the sweet miso sauce. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak" - Rianne Shlebak

Absolutely loved our dining experience at Clap London! Every single dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor — you can truly taste the chef’s passion and attention to detail in every bite. The sushi was fresh and perfectly balanced, the grilled dishes were tender and juicy, and the fried squid was light and crispy. But the highlight of the meal was definitely the dessert — the flaky pastry was heavenly, with just the right sweetness and texture. A perfect ending to a wonderful meal. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who appreciates refined Japanese cuisine with a creative touch!

A beautifully appointed restaurant with a few eclectic touches; from the ground floor reception to the sixth floor restaurant to the seventh floor bar. A cool, buzzy atmosphere. Most importantly the food is superb; full of flavour and exquisitely presented. The service is friendly and very attentive. Prices are high, but worth it. Will most definitely return.

Disappointing, ordered a £35 lunch set, I know it is a high end restaurant so I know the portion won’t be big. But the food quality just pass the line. Food is not counted as bad but nothing surprising, oh the small portion of hamachi sashimi really surprising me, to be actual it shocked me. Long wait for the food, my photos said I finished ordering at 12.57, miso soup came at 13.05, starters 13.07, that is still fine. Finished the starters in 10 minutes and waited until 13.33 for the lamb rack? And the rack is just warm? Don’t tell me it is a charcoal grilled one, I really can’t smell that kind of aroma. The most disappointing is the service, they are charging 15% service charge. I asked for tap water, I excepted someone would come to refill my glass without saying, but sorry no. After the starters my glass was already empty but no one refill, the restaurant was even less than 20% full huh? And after I paid the bill the waiter didn’t say “thank you”, oh my god even you go to McDonald’s sometimes they do say thank you when I take my order, and here 15% service charge but no thank you, such a basic manner in hospitality? I really regret not to ask for discarding the service charge.

The vibe is dope, location is prime and the view is great. Not just at this restaurant, compared to all you can eat and drink brunches in other cities like Dubai and Hong Kong, the quality and variety of food are not as good in London. Actually at CLAP has quite some variety of sushi nigiri. The food quality is good, specially the sashimi. however, the rice from nigiri is not that up to standard, it is hard and dry. We all ordered salmon for our main, it wasn’t the best salmon we had. It was overcooked on the inside. It was dry and tasteless. The sauce provided was way too sweet. Hopefully this can be improved. For other mains that require extra cost, we didn’t feel it was worth it. The dessert was delicious, especially the flio one, with peanut sauce. The matcha cheesecake was starts but it didn’t taste any matcha at all. The matcha powder on top was probably just for show? The service was alright, nothing too great. After few attempts at asking for more tap water, I had to go get the flask myself to fill in the glasses in our table. They did apologise for being slow as it was busy. We stayed for a couple of hours and we were satisfied with our meal mostly. We didn’t order any drink package, food only. We paid £75 per head including service charge.

Had a great time at Clap today for my birthday. Our waitress Simona was honestly so lovely. Super friendly, always on it, and made the whole experience feel easy. She checked in without being too much and gave really good recommendations. Really appreciated her service. Thank you Simona❤️

My boyfriend treated me here for my birthday on Friday and it was fantastic! The food was amazing (we agreed some of the best sushi we’ve had), and the ambiance was lovely. Incredible views and a DJ on the second floor for some after drinks if you feel like it. Our server (Georgi?), was incredible and made our night. He was quick to attend despite how busy it was and always made sure we were seen to and happy - so thank you georgi (we cant remember his exact name!). Definitely will be returning :)

Amazing food and excellent service! The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. We started off in the dining area, which was comfortable and well laid out, then headed upstairs to the terrace where the bar area and DJ were. The atmosphere up there was fantastic, good vibes, and a perfect way to wrap up the evening. Highly recommend this spot and the food!

We went for a tem celebration on the rooftop. Cozy elegant atmosphere surrounded by goldfish 🐠 on the screen and the dome of Harrods just floating over the window. Devis the Turkish bartender is kind and a master of cocktail. The Bloody Geisha is smoky and interesting but his version of the Bloody Mary is worth the visit!
