The 38 Essential Tel Aviv Restaurants

"Beloved Tel Aviv chef Ran Shmueli has made Claro an homage to seasonal and local ingredients. Located in a restored Templer building, this spacious, light-filled restaurant is a savvy choice for Mediterranean food. On weekends, order the family-style platter composed of slow-cooked lamb in a pomegranate sauce with sabzi (Persian fresh herbs), tzaziki, and handmade pitas straight from the tabun. I’m still buzzing after an incredible dinner at Claro. If you’re looking for a dining experience in Tel Aviv that feels like a true escape, this is it. The food is genuinely exceptional—you can taste the 'farm-to-table' freshness in every dish, with local ingredients elevated to a world-class level. But what really shocked me was the service. It’s super professional, polished, and attentive, which honestly feels like a breath of fresh air compared to the usual 'casual' standard you find in Israel. They really know how to host here. We sat in the outdoor area, and it was pure magic. Between the historic stone architecture of the Sarona complex and the soft lighting, it felt exactly like sitting in a gorgeous, sophisticated piazza in the heart of Europe. I’ll be honest: it is expensive. You’re definitely going to pay more here than at your average bistro, but in this case, you are truly paying for quality. Between the impeccable service, the atmosphere, and the sheer talent in the kitchen, it is worth every shekel for a special night out. I can’t recommend it enough.

Like it a lot. Very nice place, very tasty dishes. Note that, You need to like almost anything to find a good match in menu. Be aware it is quite expensive and portions size are reasonable.

Claro was a great experience. My partner and I went for a treat and it really delivered. The staff were attentive, the cocktail and wine selection was great and the food was fresh and delicious. The open kitchen only serves to enhance an already special experience.

Great food, great wines, amazing atmosphere and the location is easily accessible! Very friendly and helpful waiters with great suggestions. A little on the expensive side but 200% worth it.

The food menu is very interesting and apparently based on local products from the Galilee region. The dishes are not generous, and in my opinion, could be more generous. The restaurant doesn't have good acoustics and is somewhat noisy, which in a restaurant of this category and these prices could be more appropriate. The experience was very good, but some details could be improved.

Extremely great every single time! Amazing and unique seasonal dishes. Such fresh ingredients and delicious food. There is a beautiful outdoor garden area as well as a very chic indoor area. Great atmosphere. A total must.

Great place in the heart of business area. A bit upscale, but with Israeli touch. All times favorites from local cuisine, many vegetarian options. The service is a bit slow, but considering that I was during the lunch hour, the waiting time was reasonable. Reservations are required. Terrace is beautiful, especially in the summer. Highly recommended for a business lunch or even the first date
