Clary’s Cafe has got to be my favorite spot in Savannah 🔥 SERVICE First of all, the service is exceptional. They are all very sweet and go above and beyond to serve you. Even though it’s always packed because it seems to be a locals’ favorite, they’re quick with your order and are well organized with the tables. PORTIONS The portions are 10/10 too. You will be more than satisfied with anything you order here, it really is plenty of food. QUALITY The food quality is great as well, I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and all of the ingredients were fresh and delicious. I forgot to take a picture of it because I was starving. PRICES The prices are unmatched, which is really appreciated in a city where most places are expensive. PARKING Lastly, they have their own few spots for parking, which is very nice considering the entire city is known for how hard it is to find a spot to park. CONCLUSION Easily one of the best spots in the city. Cannot wait to come back here 👍

Google
Clary’s Cafe is a great choice. We get in there and the place was full, but they are very quickly taking you in a table. I pick the Greek Omelette and my husband the Steak and eggs. The steak was very tender my omelette so good I add bacon on the side. Our plate came with toast. Paola our waiter was so nice and serviceable. All the employees were so nice and happy.

Google
Clary’s is an amazing diner that’s been there for years and I see why. The food is amazing. Though it was extremely packed they offered family style seating (sitting with others) it was actually fun getting to know other people and their experience of Savannah. Overall the food was perfect and portions are excellent worth the money. 10/10 accommodations, atmosphere, and service.

Google
Yes! If you’re looking for a great breakfast spot in historic Savannah, make this your one. My daughter and I shared the Elvis French Toast, and it was AMAZING! I have a feeling Elvis would approve. My wife ordered the Georgian sandwich (bacon/egg over well/cheddar cheese) and loved it. We’ll be back in the future.

Google
It was sooooooo goooood!! Everything was good. I had two egg biscuits sausage and potatoes. Clearly all ingredients were fresh making everything super tasty. Will come back!!! Highly recommended 👌

Google
Classic breakfast place worth stopping in for in Savannah. Local institution, great breakfast or lunch menus, and wonderful staff. You’ll be sorry you missed it on the way out of town. Be sure to get the French toast or the crab cake Benedict, but honestly everything on the menu is delicious 😋

Google
Food was typical diner food and quality was just okay. Large portions. Service was very slow and lackluster. Server was not even remotely attentive and took more than 10 minutes just to greet us. She was too busy gossiping with another server and laughing. Would not make it a destination unless convenient.

Google
A small breakfast joint that has a lot of history within the walls. This small cafe has a few tables outside but the magic is inside. We were seated almost as soon as we got there and were surprised because this place was BOOMING which is always a good sign for a restaurant. Me and boyfriend split a vegetable omelette and the Elvis French Toast which in my opinion was top tier. If you’re in Savanah and need a great breakfast spot this is it!!!

Yelp
Everything here from start to finish was great. Wait time wasn't crazy probably like 10 minutes, street parking was easy, and I even got to speak to some of the other people waiting in line with me. The hostess and server were super nice and attentive Eating here can be ideal for some because you can leave your car and after dining in walk around the area. There's a really nice park and church that is absolutely beautiful and you can walk down everything you ate.

Yelp
Here's the thing. You go in and we sat on the kitchen side. I thought, why did we pick this place? I love to pick places that have a cool style and ambiance. This was chaotic, loud, a little dumpy (sorry). BUT, the staff was nice and the food came out in like 6 minutes flat! And it all was delicious! I'm not normally a breakfast potato fan, but their cubed potatoes tasted like French fries and I loved them. I read reviews that the sausage gravy and biscuits were good. My husband was going to get that, but they were out. He opted for an omelet. I got the Olgethorpe with a substitution of the stuffed strawberry and cream cheese French toast instead of pancakes (Because I couldn't decide and everything sounded good.) They are only open til 2 and when they start closing up, they're ready for you to be gone so they can go home. Take away: what it lacks in ambiance, it makes up for in speed and good food.

Yelp
So good! My server was a sweet heart, and it was so filling! Let me emphasize that the coffee was even good, and I haven't had good coffee at a restaurant in a while! Wonderful old school diner vibe. 10 stars!

Yelp
Nothing special. The menu was changed for St. Patricks Day Weekend. Had ordered waffles and bacon. Didn't see anything else special. I would have liked to have seen the other menu.

Yelp
Was taken here by friends to experience some southern style diner food and was not disappointed! Cheap, delicious food alongside along side a quaint indoor space made for an unforgettable experience. Was also seriously impressed with the speedy and friendly service.

Yelp
Average at best breakfast food. I do however like how you can sit outside with your pet as it is pet friendly

Yelp
My sister and her husband had been here and she wanted to go back. We sat at the counter which was nice and roomy and we got to watch the staff work hard to get food and drinks to everyone waiting. The food is good, nothing fancy which is great. The sweet tea was so refreshing. I would recommend trying if you are in town.

Yelp
If you're in Savannah looking for breakfast or lunch, Clary's is a must-visit. Just a few blocks up from Taylor Square, it's in a convenient, neighborhood location. We stopped for breakfast twice during a visit to the city, and both times sat at the outside tables. Very comfortable, with not much traffic on Abercorn Street, so it wasn't at all noisy or exhaust-fumed. I had probably the best egg white Greek Omelette ever - perfect amount of feta. On another visit, I tried the oatmeal, and that too with the finely chopped pecans, etc., was perfect (the brown sugar, on the side, thankfully). Deputy Yelper loved The Georgian on a biscuit, and on our repeat visit got a customized shrimp salad on a biscuit. Do order the grits - not usually our favorite, these were excellent (even without cheese). Waitstaff on both visits was very attentive, keeping that coffee mug re-filled. Yes, Clary's is referenced more than once in "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil," as the site were Berendt breakfasts and observes some of the Savannah eccentrics he writes about.

Yelp
The place has a decent food selection for lunch and breakfast. Has indoors and outdoors seating with a beautiful view of Savanna Johns street. The omelet was quite decent size and taste.

Yelp
Love Clary's! We get there every time we come to town. The staff is so friendly and the service is quick. You can expect a wait in the morning but people are moving in and out quickly. Their pancakes are delicious - slightly sweet and have a taste of buttermilk to them. The crab cake Benedict is good too - the egg yolks are a little hit or miss and sometimes a bit overdone but they are still good. We tried the oatmeal this time and it was awesome - packed full of granola, pecans and dried fruit - served with a side of brown sugar and milk! It's definitely got charm - been around for a long time - you've got the counter and seating outside as well as a beautiful stained glass replica of the Bird Girl. Looking forward to our next meal there !

Yelp
Food was amazing . Served quick , fresh and warm . The biscuits were home made . Grits weee creamy and the vegetables in my omelet were fresh . Buttermilk pancakes were huge . Amazing breakfast .

Yelp
Fast, efficient and great food! It's everything you could want from a local breakfast place! The service is also exceptional. I was able to make my own omelet but the star of the show was the potatoes. If you're looking for a cheap, local breakfast place, this is it!

Yelp
It was highly recommended by our Savannah Hop On/Hop Off tour guide. My boyfriend and I popped in for breakfast and were seated right away. Looks like there were plenty of locals dining there as well. I'm glad I decided to give this place a try because it was heavenly. Photos do not do it any justice. It was perfectly seasoned and very filling. Service was friendly, attentive, and quick. Highly recommend.

Yelp
LOVE a traditional diner (rare these days), and was happy to find one near our Airbnb in Savannah. We had breakfast at a bustling Clary's Cafe three days in a row. Even though the menu offered many choices, I always ordered some form of eggs benedict with home fries. Consistently delicious, every time. I especially loved the potatoes, which seemed to be coated to make them extra crispy. Their coffee was hot and on the strong side, my personal favorite combo. Brisk, efficient service from staff who knew what they were doing. Thank you for starting our days off right, Clary's!
google avatar

Kaitlin B.

Yelp
My husband and I always look for local spots when it comes to dining, as that's where you find the best food. Clary's is another perfect example of that. Friendly staff, delicious Southern cooking, great prices, and very quaint. The perfect breakfast!

Laura R.

Yelp
Breakfast was the best!! Huge portions Great service. With the wait!! Don't be intimidated by the line. Small inside
google avatar

Yelp
Felt like a local here. The waitress was so nice. The Belgian waffle and French toast were so delicious. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Went here twice during our three day stay and would have gone more if we had known how good the breakfast was. I had omelets and grits...all just perfect. The Elvis was too much food to eat in one sitting. All amazing and this will be a regular stop for us.
google avatar

Heather B.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Lots of options for breakfast which is served all day while they are open or lunch. French onion soup was yummy.

Yelp
This was a top rated breakfast place. We decided to stop by on a Saturday morning, they were packed. We waited about 20 mins to be seated but weren't too impressed with the food. The Philly cheesesteak was dry and the waffles were dry and hard to swallow. We were disappointed because we had high hopes. Great customer service tho.

Todd J.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast. Even on Sunday morning the wait was not too long and the service was quick once you had a table. Our waitress, Paula was attentive and helpful. Portion sizes were pretty big! We would go back again!
google avatar

Kendre W.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious breakfast place. Out the door waiting, but well with it! We sat outside the place was packed inside. Finally a place that understood the home fries assignment, it was delicous. Nothing but happy plates everywhere! Bathroom was clean and accessible. Google didn't steer me wrong on this one.

Yelp
OMG, I was at the bike shop up the dropping off a bike for repair and asked were I could go while they looked at the bike for breakfast. Clary's was the first thing he said, the next was to ere will be a line. It was around 1030 so we drove there and yes there was a line at the door!! We found a parking spot around the corner and weekend you don't have to feed the meters, I was getting ready to pay and a local told me it was free on weekends. We walked back to Clary's and looked inside it was packed and lots of people were waiting. They have a few tables outside or you can it inside at a table or at the counter, we waited for the host to put our name on the list when he came we asked if we could sit at the counter he said sure it first come for the counter. Wife has tea and I has coffee, I saw eggs Benedict on the menu and knew what I was getting and the wife was having the biscuits and gravy. Our food came out and everything looked excellent I did ask for more hollandaise sauce because there wasn't enough for me, we started eating and both meals we tasting great. When I went to pay I saw that they charge extra for more sauce really if they'd put enough to cover the whole egg and muffin it be great you wouldn't need extra. This was one of the top 5 best eggs Benedict I've eaten, the hollandaise was excellent just the rite amount of lemon flavor and butter. Now the biscuits and gravy this is probably the best I've ever eaten well at least the gravy! It's very creamy and rich tasting I didn't really eat any biscuit but that gravy mmm. Can't sit to return to eat here again. We didn't have to wait, make sure you look for a seat at the counter.

Ron P.

Yelp
Awesome food and service with a smile! Worth the wait so be patient! Limited seating. Pancakes simply awesome too!!!

Yelp
I came for the Lox (they no longer offer it), ordered the crab Benedict, and received the hash. Clearly from a can... for over $25. So grubby and dirty the Waffle House has better standards than this place. The cook held a personal conversation on his phone in front of me so no wonder he got the order wrong. The waitress was loud and obnoxious. Clearly family owned as one of the kids kept yelling, "mom, mom, mom!" I have nothing against small family businesses but this felt like a dysfunctional farm house. You get all this for one outrageous price. Lucky you.
google avatar

Dawn R.

Yelp
A great historical place to eat. The wait was not too bad at all, the food and coffee were tasty and the atmosphere... busy! It's a small place and the restrooms were fine, truly, it's just the layout of the building that makes them a bit awkward to navigate. But, it is an early 1900s building so I can work with that. Definitely recommended and we'd be back.
google avatar

Elle V.

Yelp
Local joint. Nothing to get excited about, but breakfast spots are hard to find. We had the gyro (skip it), chicken club (it was ok), and an egg breakfast (best option).
google avatar

Brooke H.

Yelp
Yum! Great breakfast spot with all the traditional favorites. Friendly staff, and prompt service. I loved my Corned Beef Hash Benedict!
google avatar

Karen T.

Yelp
What an excellent breakfast spot! It was a beautiful day, so I sat outside. Watching all the dog walkers go by. Lots of locals meeting and walking by. I had the chicken fried steak, grits, scrambled eggs and biscuits. It was all delicious. My waitress was excellent and friendly. I decided to take extra biscuits home to my family. Also, the host was very friendly and fast to greet me. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
Visit this historic place on your trip. The food was delicious! Typical cafe-type foods. Always enjoy being able to pick breakfast all day. I was really hoping for a super friendly server to match the energy. A little disappointed there. The atmosphere was a nice diner-type style..we enjoyed the wall art. First time I got charged a sharing fee. My wife and I had been sharing a plate at a lot of places. They charged us for the extra plate, even with two kids who ordered regular meals. My son got the crab cakes eggs benedict. They were delicious. The eggs on top were nicely cooked. Daughter's chicken club (fried chicken, bacon, and cheese) sandwich was huge. I ordered the Oglethorpe... eggs, meat, grits, and pancakes. I did have to pay extra to get smoked sausage. I guess it was an upgrade. We'd visit this place again.
google avatar

Karin H.

Yelp
Totally bomb diner! Excellent service, excellent food and great diner vibe. I am a corned beef hash snob and this was some of the best I have ever had. Not trying to be too pretentious, just being what it is...good comfort breakfast food. First bite of the steak taken from across the table and I hear "that is a good steak." I think we have found our new favorite breakfast place when visiting Savannah.
google avatar

Tony B.

Yelp
Finally stopped in for brunch. Love the old cozy diner feel. Staff were friendly and food tasty and out fast. Simple front and back menu but has enough choices to make you want to go back.
google avatar

Paul D.

Yelp
Are you hungry? Love homemade recipes like crab cakes, omelettes and other comfort food favs? This place will not disappoint. The servers are pros as well. We were passing thru town and found it thru a friend who lives there. OMG might have to move closer to Savannah....
google avatar

L. M.

Yelp
Good food, and good portions. I opted for the sausage and gravy biscuits. I added two over easy's on top, got sunny side up, not a big deal, just flipped them over. I did mention to the waitress I never get enough gravy anywhere I order it, and would be happy to pay for a side; she said wait and see, and by golly, she was right! First time ever actually got enough gravy to finish the whole meal. It was not the best I've ever had, but it was good, and that's saying a lot considering it doesn't seem many restaurants at all make excellent sausage gravy. Hubs ordered the famous corned beef Benedict with poached eggs. He enjoyed it very much, but said, while it was very good corned beef it wasn't the best he'd ever had. I tried his, and I actually thought it was right up there with some of the best. So as my Spanish teacher used to say "Sobre gusta, no hay disputa". So, good food, decent prices. Lovely atmosphere and waitstaff. You must go.

Yelp
Wow...glad we discovered Clary's. Just spend the Memorial Day weekend in Savannah and had breakfast at Clary's all three days. Everything was home cooked and amazing. So good in fact that my wife had the Greek omelette all 3 trips, calling it the best she's ever had. I went for biscuits and gravy on day 1, pecan pancakes on day 2 and french toast on day 3....all were outstanding. Don't be worried if there is a line to be seated, it's well worth the wait. Also, if you get the opportunity, sit at the bar. It was a lot of fun interacting with the staff behind the counter. Lots of great hospitality.
google avatar

Christie B.

Yelp
The food here is so delicious! I have eaten here several times and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is casual, old school diner fun. The service is good as well. Their pecan pancakes will bring you back and their grits will be in your dreams.
google avatar

Gregg N.

Yelp
If you can find parking close by, consider that a win! Even though there was a line outside, the wait wasn't very long. Maybe 10 minutes. We were seated outside, which was great because the weather was nice and you could see the tourists ride by in the trolleys and carriages. I ordered the corned beef hash plate: scrambled eggs, grits, and a biscuit. The hash was a little salty but everything else was delicious. The boys got the fruit waffles... then we walked over to Forsythe Park for them to play off all that sugar!!!
google avatar

Ashley Nicole V.

Yelp
The service was okay, however a very talented server held at least 6 plates on both hands which was pretty cool to watch! Our server seemed a bit over stretched however, my boyfriend and I enjoyed the food and would go back anytime. The place was also vintage and was totally a vibe.
google avatar

Ariel A.

Yelp
Nostalgic of old Savannah before SCAD took over. Don't let the vintage exterior fool you. The food is excellent and the service is top notch.

Veronica V.

Yelp
This is a fantastic spot for breakfast! The coffee refills were constant, which we truly appreciated, especially on a busy morning. We ordered the Oglethorpe, and it was absolutely delicious--fluffy scrambled eggs, perfectly crispy bacon, savory potatoes, and delightfully sweet pancakes that tied everything together. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it an ideal place to start your day. Our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive, and the entire wait staff exuded warmth and friendliness. Outstanding food, excellent service, and great vibes overall. We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Liz S.

Yelp
Really great food and service. Got our party of 6 sat in less than 20 minutes on a busy Sunday. Service was so friendly and helpful. Food was delicious- excellent California Rueben, corned beef Benedict, club sandwich and egg and pancake breakfasts!
google avatar

Jill S.

Yelp
Solid breakfast food in a friendly diner. We tried the biscuits and gravy, bacon, eggs, and French toast. All good. If you are a fan of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, you gotta visit!

Steven B.

Yelp
The place was very busy on a Saturday morning but the wait was not too long. Wait staff was so friendly. Loved the variety on the menu, especially for a place that seemed "small". But best of all... EVERYTHING TASTED AMAZING! Very much enjoyed this place. Only wish is that they opened earlier during the week.
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
Great service! Great food! You won't be disappointed. Gets busy and space is limited.
google avatar

Angela C.

Yelp
Great food and service! Clary's has an old school diner feel with friendly staff. For breakfast, I was told the crab cakes Benedict was a must and they were delicious. I got it with a side of cheesy grits. I ate at the bar and found that the service was surprisingly very fast!
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
Visiting Savannah for a couple days and wanting Diner type food. On a friends recommendation went to Clary's Diner. Parking lot is small so good luck securing a spot otherwise street parking is the other option and it's pay parking in areas around the restaurant. Driving by there were lots of people outside waiting. After putting our name down on the list was advised under 20 minutes and under which went pretty fast. Inside is definitely a lot bigger then it appears. Ordered Old Fashion French Toast with no powdered sugar and The Georgian (breakfast sandwich). Nothing spectacular but sufficient for breakfast. As always extra star for Coke products. Service was fast even with a lot of people.
google avatar

Nick B.

Yelp
Greasy spoon in heart of Savannah. Perfect place after a night out for breakfast... food is what you'd expect. Service was friendly - great alternative to Waffle House.
google avatar

George L.

Yelp
Clary's is a peasant yet busy local breakfast spot in Downtown Savannah. The interior is a bit dated but the food was mostly good and inexpensive for what you get. Even on a Thursday morning this place is packed and we waited about 20 minutes for a table. My friend ordered the steak and eggs while I ordered the crab cake Benedict. Steak and Eggs: pretty good, the meat was tender and everything worked well for it. Crab Cake Benedict: I like the crab party and hash brown potatoes, both were nice and crunchy. Overall a decent spot to get breakfast. The only problem is the wait which imo for the food I personally think it's not worth it if you're waiting too long for it. This place is popular and crowded but and it's a good choice if your wait is short.
google avatar

Baz B.

Yelp
A cute little corner cafe located on famous Jones Street, Clary's offers a fantastic menu of breakfast and lunch dishes. While you can sit inside, we truly enjoyed sitting outside along Jones Street and taking in the environment: beautiful homes, ancient sycamore trees, Spanish moss, wonderful service, and delectable dishes...what a way to start any day! While they do have a "California" version of the Rueben, I opted for the original and loved every bite! A great place!
