"Also in Fort Worth dining news, Chef Marcus Paslay’s Clay Pigeon has named Bria Downey as its executive chef. Marcus Paslay’s flagship remains a benchmark for seasonal, from-scratch cooking—think bone marrow, house pastas, and expertly cooked steaks. A recent refresh, widely noted by local media, kept the room lively while preserving its neighborhood-fine-dining soul.

Booking a reservation here as the finale to a wedding anniversary trip as a surprise to my husband was the perfect cherry on top. The atmosphere was perfect, a wonderful fire place going to add some warmth and charm, the exposed brick, beautiful floral bouquets, and a gorgeous wine room along the back. The from scratch menu had just enough choices without being too limited or too crowded - I will say the cocktail menu does lean towards the deeper darker elements and as a fruity fun vodka girlie I did end up having to lean into the wine menu instead, which was a tad disappointing because I do love to experience a truly unique cocktail during special occasions. My husband and I split a wedge salad, the pickled onions added a nice brightness to the salad and can I give a huge shoutout to whomever chose that blue cheese because it had all the funkiness and flavor that I LOVE from blue cheese but some people shy away from. I ordered the Grilled Duck Breast - beautifully presented, packed full of flavor and overall a delicious plate of food. My husband ordered the Pan Roasted Chicken - I enjoyed taking bites of the apples that accompanied his dish and the chicken was nice and juicy. No proper celebration is complete without dessert and because we’re both sweets lovers we decided to order two different dishes. Desserts were accompanied by a complimentary glass of wine graciously given from the staff to celebrate our anniversary. The Chocolate Coffee Pot De Crème was super rich and decedent and definitely designed with chocolate lovers in mind! I loved the cheesecake which added a nice fresh creaminess between bites of the Pot De Crème. If you’ve got a big appetite or have a love for all things sweets, it might be in your best interest to order individual desserts per person due to the sizing being a bit petite but thankfully we ordered two so we could share and try two different flavors and still be fully satisfied. Our server Doug was very kind and all the staff was very friendly. This dining experience was my favorite from our trip out to Fort Worth and if I could uber eats that Pot De Crème from here in Frisco… I’d order 3 right now with a nice glass of red wine and call it girl dinner at it’s finest.

So my friend and I are die hard sporting clays shooters from Idaho and were looking for a steakhouse nearby and saw Clay Pigeon. So we invisible had to stop in. The atmosphere is definitely that of a higher end, older feel style steakhouse. You can feel the stories and history of its roots coming through. Brent was our server and was extremely knowledgeable, and very helpful in guiding us along what was on the menu. From the specials, to the steaks, and other great meals. I ended up with the burger with candied jalapeño bacon with brie, and it was to die for. Absolute dream burger, and I'm so happy. I'll be back ladies and gentlemen!

We had a 5:30 reservation on a Friday evening and arrived ahead of part of our party. We were offered our table immediately but deferred to the bar instead where we were well cared for by Ethan and his teammate. My daughter ordered her drink customized with ingredients she spotted in other menu cocktails and it was mixed perfectly. We soon chose to be seated at our table and my sister joined us shortly. She ordered a cocktail and we ordered the marrow bones for the table. Scooping the roasted marrow onto the sourdough toast was a bit tricky and messy, but tasty and entirely worth it. More interesting than just artisan bread and butter would have been. I ordered the duck breast with red rice, butternut, and cherry jus. I've had duck that was greasy or overly fatty, and this was NOT that! Plump, tender, and perfectly done, just as meaty and satisfying as any beef tenderloin, and the accompaniments were well chosen. The only thing I might have wished different was to have more of the butternut component. We ordered the roasted mushrooms and the roasted glazed carrots for the table and they complemented the entree. The carrots were so delicious I couldn't stop eating them. My sister and I each chose a red wine to accompany dinner. The wine list isn't huge, but it is nicely rounded and offered a couple of choices that aren't in the standard list, including single varietal Roussanne and Grenache options. We shared the fig cake for dessert, and though it wasn't what I had imagined when we ordered, it was a pleasant cap to the meal reminiscent of a treacle from a British pub, though without so much over-the-top sugariness. Service was quick and friendly and well done. Recommend the complementary valet service as parking is limited and tight or on the street, possibly at a small distance.

My husband booked our reservation after reading a couple of local blogs. Let me say, this did not disappoint. The more I cook at home, the less I enjoy eating out. The Clay Pigeon exceeded my expectations. We had the bone marrow appetizer which was divine. Our entrees were perfectly portioned. All of the waitstaff from front of house, to servers, to bus boys, worked cohesively as a team. Lovely experience and we will definitely be back.

Google
To preface this review, my issues were not with the wait staff; if anything, they earned this place an extra star. Starting with appetizers, I would advise anyone against ordering the bone marrow. The portion of marrow, as well as the plate that it's served on, is simply far too small. A fundamental issue with every course was how long they took to be served. From the time we got our first appetizer, 30 minutes had passed, and then another 45 to get our main entrees. Meanwhile, other guests had been seated and had their food served to them in a reasonable time. Additionally, I ordered my burger medium rare, and it was medium well. At that point, I didn't want to say anything to avoid waiting another 45 minutes for one made correctly. I did enjoy the ambiance of the place. Overall, I wouldn't come back, but it wasn't the worst experience I've had.

My wife and I decided to try this spot for a date night, and it exceeded all our expectations. The highlight of the evening was the duck, which was cooked to absolute perfection—crispy skin with tender, flavorful meat that melted in your mouth. The chef truly knows their craft. The atmosphere was ideal for a romantic evening, with just the right balance of intimate and lively. We were equally impressed with the dessert, which was a decadent finish to our meal, and the drink selection was top-notch, offering a great range of options to suit any palate. What really made the night special, though, was the service. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and made to feel like VIPs. Our server was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and had a genuine passion for making sure we enjoyed our evening. They offered great recommendations and made sure every detail was just right, without being overbearing. Clay Pigeon is not just a meal, but a whole experience. We left feeling completely satisfied and looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable night out!

Google
Our server was Chad and he did such a great job. He was very attentive, knew the menu and had great recommendations. The southern belle drink and espresso martini are Devine. The martini was so smooth. We got the 20 oz special, bone marrow app, deviled eggs caviar app and halibut special. All served perfectly and were delicious. We got the affagoto dessert and it was good. The strawberry cheesecake was not impressive. It had coconut in it and that was unexpected and ruined it for us. But that is the only complaint. It was also louder than we expected it to be. We made reservations at 5:30 and were seated right on time.

Google
A fantastic experience and a great place to go for any event, date night, whatever. The food is fantastic, and the service is equally as good. They have a really great wine list, good desserts, and everything in between. I would recommend going here for whatever event you’re celebrating!

Yelp
We just had the loveliest time here. Any time there is duck on a menu, I order it. This one didn't disappoint. Get it. You'll love it. Our server was cool, very attentive but not too much!

Yelp
Continuing our love fest with this place. A winter evening, where our first was a June night. Both were exceptional, and our server Lauren was a talented guide for a wonderful night. We took advantage our the sparkling hour to kick off our night as well as the best beef tartare ver and salmon rillettes. Entrees included the duck, smoked pork shank, pasta which was a delectable short rib, and my dish, the perfectly cooked simple but sublime chicken. Great wines by the glass. The remodel included roomy booths and the same cozy vibe we loved our first time. Shared the limoncello sorbet wnd pot de creme for a table of four. Wish we lived a tad closer, we would be here weekly if so....

Yelp
Celebrated our anniversary here and WOW!! Everything was exceptional! The service was top notch as well (I believe our servers name was Eileen and she was amazing). We ordered the Salmon, Pork Shank, Mac and cheese and Bone Marrow. Bone marrow was amazing. Salmon was cooked to perfection and the presentation was beautiful. Cant wait to come back and try everything on the menu.

Yelp
When i first moved to TX, i really wanted to check this place out. We actually rented an Airbnb for a few weeks before settling down in FW and the airbnb was walking distance from this restaurant. First off, i don't think you're allowed to park in the small parking lot. It's 100% valet. There's street parking if you want, but the valet is complementary and they work off tips. We made reservations, which i would recommend. We ended up getting the Grilled bone marrow, smoked salmon rillettes, prime beef tartare for the starters. We added one burrata salad and get the grilled duck breast to share between two people. We also ordered a side of carrots and finished the night with a strawberry cheesecake. Even though, the bone marrow was listed as one of the favorite items, i think i would skip it next time. It was really greasy and for the amount of marrow you get, i don't think it was really worth it. The star of the show was the burrata salad and the duck breast. The salad was really simple and the duck breast was juicy and tender. I also really enjoyed the carrots with goat cheese. The service was great, and they kept coming by asking if we needed anything and kept our drinks full. Definitely recommend checking this place out for a night out or a special occasion.

Jenn N.

Yelp
Food was ok, service was average, nothing outstanding. They didn't have changing tables in any of the bathrooms so that was a challenge for a new mom. Menu was slim but we ordered the bone marrow (surprisingly tasty), salmon and ribeye (bland), our server didn't come by to ask if we needed anything after.

Yelp
We had a great experience with our new years celebration! The restaurant offered a four course meal and every thing we ate was divine . Our wait staff was attentive and friendly, he made sure to take care of our table. I hadn't been to this place, it was a pleasant surprise how beautiful the ambiance, from the tables to the bar. It was perfect! I would recommend going, great for date night , girls night out or a nice evening out with your family.

Yelp
Service was great. Food wasn't too shabby. Bone marrow was good, just not much yield. Prices were a little on the high side for the portion size though. Date Cake was delicious. We'd go back some time.

Yelp
Where do I start? This meal was fantastic from start to finish. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and well lit. Our service was 10/10 and everyone was so kind and helpful. It was fun to have a peek into the kitchen from our seats and watch everyone work. The apps are insane, and I could come here just to make a meal out of them alone. The beef tartare stole the show and was so perfectly seasoned. The peach gazpacho and tomato carpaccio were fun seasonal items to try as well. Loved the crab salad in the soup and may or may not have dipped some leftover potato chips into it. Really enjoyed the combination of everything. The duck was perfectly cooked, and the whipped potatoes were so memorable. They're some of the best I've ever had. The flavors were so complementary and I love that they'll slice everything up for you to make it easy to share and try different bites. Last but certainly not least, the desserts were phenomenal. Date cake is a must try with a rich sauce and buttery house made ice cream on top. The pot de creme was a great option for anyone who likes a more bitter and balanced dessert. All in all I was extremely impressed and can't believe I tried Piatello, Provender Hall, and Walloons before I came here. This place has truly got it all. Would have my wedding here if I could.

Yelp
Eileen and Ethan were fabulous! So friendly! Me and my boyfriend had the smoked salmon app and our glasses of wines :) This atmosphere is so warm and welcoming, definitely have to give this place some of your time!

Yelp
I visited Clay Pigeon while on a work trip in Fort Worth and the food and ambiance were incredible. The Hamachi Crudo and Steak Frites were phenomenal as was the service. Definitely check this spot out if you're looking for a great glass of wine, spectacular food, and a great space to enjoy time with your family and friends!

Yelp
Clay Pigeon sounds like it's been around for quite some time; I was passing through and looking for a place to grab a quick bite of tasty neo-American style fish or ceviche and was pleasantly surprised about what I came across. Really great atmosphere, I visited at a slower time in the very beginning of their dinner rush and slowly start to see the tables pour in. I had the salmon and their crudo - very well prepared. This is definitely a restaurant I'd recommend for a dinner with a partner or for a business meal.

Yelp
Where to start? The first time I came here it immediately became one of my favorite restaurants. Since moving to the area, I've had countless wonderful meals at Clay Pigeon with family and friends. My experience is always superb - fantastic atmosphere, great food with a menu that changes based on what's in season, and stellar service. The brick walls, fireplace, gorgeous bar, and lighting all contribute to a cozy, welcoming, romantic atmosphere that truly adds to the whole experience. Everything I have ordered here has been delicious. The menu changes seasonally but keeps its same general structure, so you can come back again and again and try new flavors. Most recently I had the house made pasta, which was delicious. Their salads are also very good. And don't forget to ask for a dessert menu - you won't be disappointed. They also have a fantastic beverage selection, with seasonal cocktails that are fun to try. The staff here is the epitome of professional while still being warm and friendly. I definitely recommend making a reservation here as it is almost always busy. There is valet parking. Clay Pigeon is without a doubt my favorite restaurant in Fort Worth.

Yelp
Food was pretty good, some dishes were extremely salty but at least they were flavorful. (My 4 guests agreed with this statement) Steak Tartare - salty and amazing, would order again Salmon - dry but flavorful Bone marrow - amazing but salty. Super buttery Duck - phenomenal, love that it tasted high quality and the sauce was delicious. The greens were amazing too. Steak frites - really good, fries were unbearable salty but the meat was yummy. Wish there was a sauce to compliment Pasta - shrimp was fresh and tasty. Everything in it was delicious! Our waitress was amazing and super attentive. She deserves 5 stars! When you walk into the restaurant, it smells clean and smoky at the same time-very Texas. Ambiance was pretty chill, dim lighting and noise level is moderate. Bathrooms were super clean.

Yelp
Food and drinks were excellent. One of the best meals I've had in Fort Worth. The service was great. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for our anniversary and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious and the service was incredible they wished us a happy anniversary and made us feel welcome for it being our first time there. The ambiance was very laid back but it felt a bit upscale. We sat next to the bar and we got a view of the kitchen. In the restrooms they had cloth towels to wash your hands and they also had a mouthwash section. I'd definitely return!

Brenda T.

Yelp
Amazing! Our waiter is amazing and so romantic! Went for our anniversary dinner and it was perfect. Bone marrow was fantastic. Duck was perfectly cooked. Got the pork chop also and the kumquats stole the show! Mashed potatoes are divine. Wrapped up with dessert which is amazing! Definitely recommend for special occasions and hope to go back!

Yelp
Staff was friendly. Restaurant was very adorable. Food was ok. My husband and I wanted to support local for our 5 year anniversary. I wrote twice in our reservation it was our anniversary. We were COMPLETELY FAILED by the staff on this one. Not even a single happy anniversary. SMH. It was not a night of celebration. It was not a good feeling. I guess next year we'll be returning to chain restaurants like The Capital Grill that are equipped for making celebrations special for their guest. :/

Jeanette R.

Yelp
Highly recommend this place. Great food and great service. Have to confess I forgot yo post this some time ago but I've been back a few time sense out first visit and still highly recommend Clay Pigeon
google avatar

Julianna G.

Yelp
The food and our server were amazing, I cannot deny that. My drink was delicious and my steak was cooked to perfection. I am "taking away" 1 star because this was my very first CP experience and we were sat over 30 minutes after our reservation time. I understand things happen, but I think when you are running that far behind, a courtesy call can go a long way. Or at least clearly communicate how far you're running behind. 30+ minutes is not "a little bit". The lighting inside was romantic, but the tables were a bit close together for my liking.
google avatar

Petra N.

Yelp
Was debating to eat here last night! But boy they definitely deliver. Let me give the first 5stars to front of the house service! We sat at the bar, and they are on point! Very very attentive, they communicate with you throughout the whole meal, they set expectations, they hold the bar high for the rest of the restaurant. Food received 5points also! Everything was cooked to perfection! Cannot find any flaw. Execution was perfections. The way the food looks was also 5stars! Drinks was pretty on point also. One point taken away for wait time. But.. they were very accommodating when they kinda figured that you have been waiting too long for your food! And like I said attentiveness of the staff is unbelievable. All in all definitely a 5stars experience! Will definitely be back.

Yelp
So my son picked this pace for his Birthday dinner. And I was really excited to try it. Our waitress was so sweet and friendly. She told us about three daily specials and that everything was locally sourced and the chef was outstanding. So I ordered two of the daily specials. My first was the soup, cream of tomato. It came out Luke warm but tasty. I really like my soup to be on the hotter side. So my next was the pasta of the day. It was made in house and was a tomato base with shrimp and crab. But the actual pasta was tough. Like it was over kneaded. And it was my son's Birthday but they never brought him anything. Just asked if we would like to see the dessert menu. I had specifically told them it was his Birthday? Anyway. Not on my rotation to return.
google avatar

Carlo P.

Yelp
Terrible. Don't get the burger, comes out with a soggy bottom and grisly burger patty. Pan seared chicken , ha. For $32 for the tiniest piece of chicken. Honestly this place is overhyped and not worth it. Pass.
google avatar

Morganleigh B.

Yelp
I absolutely love the ambience of clay pigeon. My boyfriend and I enjoy sitting at the bar. The bartender is very cool and knowledgeable. Their food is outstanding really great place for date night or special occasion.

Alli C.

Yelp
After a recommendation from a close friend, we chose the Clay Pigeon for our anniversary dinner. We were greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne which was such a nice touch! We had the smoked salmon appetizer, Caesar salad, tomato soup, pasta special (handmade pasta with seafood ragu) and the catch of the day special (Texas redfish with the most delicious sauce of life!). Overall it was a lovely, romantic meal, with such a great ambiance and friendly staff. We will absolutely be back!

Yelp
Talk about a surprise dinner! My husband and I were in the area to see a band play at a brewery nearby. Unfortunately we didn't make reservations and wouldn't get a seat to order dinner at the brewery before the show. So, I popped on Yelp and found Clay Pigeon nearby in walking distance. It was a Wednesday night and I called and they had availability. Apparently they have been in FTW for 9 years. I'm new to the area and am so glad I found this restaurant. We ordered the charcuterie board and shared the braised pork shank with smoked gouda grits. We also got a side of mac-n-cheese. We had plenty of food and some great leftovers for lunch the next day. The pork shank was bone-in and was so juicy and tender it basically fell off the bone. The gouda grits were creamy and savory. We were excited to learn that the executive chef, Marcus Paslay has another restaurant. We can't wait to try it and come back to Clay Pigeon as well.
google avatar

Mar M.

Yelp
Really great food. Went for the Tartare which was superb. Dressy. Made from scratch. Wine was good. Great service
google avatar

Bobby M.

Yelp
If you don't get the pork shank, we can't be friends no more. This is the most succulent piece of meat I have ever consumed. An absolute must in the Fort Worth area!

Yelp
one of the best all around places ive been to in a long time!! i don't give too many 5 star reviews but this place was absolute 5 star worthy!!! not too glitzy or glammy but nice for a fancy dinner out, servers attentive & not pressure to up-sale, food was fresh, and taste was spot on, no salt or pepper on the table bc there was no need!! Price was more then fair for all your getting, not overpriced or over hyped place at all!! Simplicity at its best. This is what true fine dining comes down to... good quality, delicious food!!
google avatar

Sharon R.

Yelp
This place is a gem! A real find. Didn't take any food photos but everything our party of four ordered was delicious (drinks, salads, duck, steak, salmon l, and dessert).
google avatar

GiGi W.

Yelp
Seriously one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The arancini, pasta ragu, tomato soup, and date cake with homemade ice cream was all absolutely amazing. Service was splendid and the atmosphere was very nice and homely!
google avatar

Joanna T.

Yelp
What a spectacular restaurant! My husband tooks us here for date night and it's a hidden gem! The service was phenomenal and the food was exquisite! I highly recommend to order the bone marrow as an appetizer. Bonus is that they offer happy hour until 6pm I believe! Expect to valet for parking.
google avatar

Stephanie D.

Yelp
Excellent menu, even better atmosphere. Located off White Settlement in a house converted into a restaurant. Great cocktail list. Service team is really sweet from the bartender to the wait staff. Variety of menu items ranging from seafood to farm animals. I'm a filet girl but the chicken here is hard to pass up. Expect to pay a minimum of $50+ per person for a decent meal which is common in this setting.

Yelp
While reading reviews I was really excited to enjoy an evening of fine dining at Clay Pigeon. However, I left feeling really disappointed. + Let me start with the positives. * The host and servers were fantastic and very helpful. * The atmosphere was very nice as well, (minus the drunk lady who was borderline yelling the whole time.) + Now on to the negatives. * Surprisingly the food was just ok. Our server quickly informed us that 1/2 the menu was unavailable. "They were out." We started with the Roasted Brussel Sprouts. I think the flavor was there, but I believe we got the very bottom of the pan. They were soggy and burnt all at the same time. I was very confused. I really kept trying to convince myself that they were good but unfortunately- I wouldn't order them again. I was really looking forward to our entrées redeeming the starter. I had ordered the salmon and my date ordered the ribeye steak. The salmon was extremely undercooked and the steak was extremely chewy for a $50 ribeye. I'm always down to spend a little extra money on some good food but unfortunately this wasn't one of those times. The quality for the price just wasn't there. One star for our waiter and hostess.

Yelp
Really is a 4.5. This is a very unassuming spot. The outside doesn't make you want to go running in, but it was night time when we went. The inside has a rustice feel. They are taking CoVid precautions seriously. We didn't a reservation and the hostess said the next one was 8:45. It was 7:10 and we were hungry. She said if we could get there in 15-20 minutes, she could save us 2 spots at the bar. Thank you! We sat at the bar where Michael and Ahkeem took care of us. I don't think we could have been in better hands. Akheem gave suggestions and feedback on our choices, and Micheal made sure we were satisfied with our food. Because of Michael, I had my first Grasshopper. I liked it, but enough to get it on a regular. The only reason I gave it a 4.5 was because one appetizer we got kind of lacked flavor. Another Yelper, Dale said it, but we wanted to see for ourselves. It was the smoked salmon dish, meh. We also had the grilled bone marrow which was fatty deliciousness. My husband got the duck breast and raved about it how good it was. He also got a side of mac and cheese. It was a solid dish. I got the pork shank with grits. The pork shank was huge and meaty with a gravy and the grits were to die for. We will return, especially for the grits lol. If you have to sit at the bar, hopefully Ahkeem and Michael are there to take care of you.

Yelp
It was... fine. My husband I went for an anniversary dinner. I've been wanting to try for awhile and we drove from the other side of DFW. I ordered the prickly pear cocktail and it wasn't my favorite. Very sweet tart-esque and not very balanced. I wanted to drink it fast before the food came because I couldn't enjoy my food with it. The highlight was the Brussels sprouts. Great flavor, loved the bacon in it. The salmon was tasty, but 3 halves of marble potatoes and 4 green beans is a little stingy IMO. My husband ordered the pasta and did not enjoy. He asked the waitress if the beef was braised (like shredded) and the waitress said yes... well it was ground beef. The sauce flavor was kind of bland and the pasta was a little too firm for us. We decided to skip dessert and get ice cream nearby instead. As I said, it was fine, but I probably won't make an effort to come back.

Holly C.

Yelp
Honestly was a bit disappointed with my visit here... It's unfortunate, but maybe I'll try it one more time to see if it was just a fluke. I ordered a $15 bowl of soup to start and it was maybe a totally of like 3 oz. So weird. Like I said, maybe one more try of the menu.

Yelp
Waitress was amazing, very comforting, knowledgeable about drinks and the menu, and was extremely helpful.... This review has nothing to do with her, she was phenomenal. My review begins with the appetizers; 1. Bone marrow - over charred, spoonful or two in the first one, there was none in the second one, but was covered with an excessive amount of fennel. 2. Beets and burrata - Bland, and huge chunks that weren't easy to chew, they are beets don't ruin them... I get the effort trying to dress it up, but if you want pizazz, just use goat cheese. 3. Butternut squash soup. -Very good, I have no complaints. Main courses - seared chicken roulade - The chicken itself was Salty, the chicken jus, was bland. Which doesn't make much sense in hindsight. Three flimsy little pieces of asparagus that were wilted. Potatoes were undercooked, and cooked mixed in. (My splendid waitress did have this dish taken off) Braised Pork Shank - Aside from the flavor tasting like a backyard BBQ of sweet baby rays, the pork was tender, and the grits were perfectly cooked. CP Burger - Obviously if the burger says plain and dry, with cheese only.... I'd like to think you would prepare this for a child, regardless... The burger was over cooked, unflavored, and the cheddar cheese was physically black, but the fries were alright. I expected more from this establishment. I digress, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the waitress and the soup were amazing.

Yelp
We've been to the Clay Pigeon several times and always have a good experience. Typically we sit at the bar and split apps, soups and salads. The staff is always friendly and helpful! If you are going for dinner, I highly recommend the shank or the duck! You cannot go wrong either way!! Delicious!!

Yelp
Great experience at Clay Pigeon. The staff from start to finish did a fantastic job of showcasing their hospitality. The food offered elevated standard options they didn't leave much to be desired. I'd recommend you check this place out when you want a great meal with an authentic hospitality experience. The ambiance offered is relaxed and elevated.

Yelp
Wow! Food was fantastic! So fresh and innovative. Drinks were fantastic! Also innovative. Service and atmosphere were fantastic! (Janelle, we are newly big fans!). I loved watching how proper and willing-to-please the staff are with both patrons and staff. We have been looking for a place in Fort Worth that wasn't just BBQ or steak house. This place is legit! ...Fresh, farm to table, and fantastic! Kudos to the staff at Clay Pigeon! We are big fans!

Yelp
Food was great! Service provided by staff was exceptional! I did feel we were a bit overdressed. I'd say this is more of a business casual restaurant not a dress up type restaurant lol

Yelp
Went here for a birthday dinner. Excellent service and cocktails. We each had the espresso martinis which were some of the best we've had. Cannot recommend the pasta enough, was so delicious.

Yelp
The service was fantastic as well as the food! The appetizers were the best part, but the wine was delicious! Bone marrow, tartare and Spinalis were hands down the best items

Yelp
The food, the drinks, and the service here are amazing. However the valet service that works in the parking lot is horrible. I have been here several times and every time I have been chased down/yelled at by the same man working at the valet. I love the clay Pigeon, but the valet service makes me want to not return here so that I don't get yelled at in the parking lot by this man. I have also seen him yell at several other customers and chase them away. I really hope they fix this because the restaurant is wonderful.

Yelp
Went to Clay Pigeon on a Tuesday night promptly after opening. We were seated promptly, and was given a nice and quiet area to ourselves. We had started off with the Pork Belly and Bone Marrow; the pork belly was delicious, and paired well with the sweeter sauce that came with it. The bone marrow was good, but it was a bit too burnt for me- there wasn't much to enjoy as I feel like it was heated up too long. For our main entree we had gotten the Lamb Chops and Duck breast- the duck breast was perfect; the spices used complemented the gamey flavor of the meat. The lamb chops were also delicious, but by the time I got the lamb it was close to room temperature- could have been sitting a while. While I enjoyed the food at Clay Pigeon, the service was not great, and really hindered our experience. Our waitress checked on us twice throughout the night, and seemed very disinterested throughout the night. The service and temperature of the food played a big factor on my rating- I would love to try clay pigeon again, but I am weary given the service we had gotten.

Yelp
Well, this is a very comfortable, warm and inviting venue. We've been a couple times before, but for lunch, a while back. When we arrived at 6 pm this evening the music was blaring at a volume that was totally out of sync with what one would expect given the ambiance of this restaurant. I wonder if it had been cranked up for the benefit of the staff as they prepared for the evening's opening. At any rate we asked our server if he would ask if the volume could be reduced and it was...significantly and pleasantly. We ordered a glass of bubbly and a Wild Turkey Old Fashioned which came out promptly. The Old Fashioned was perfectly prepared. Excellent. We started with the smoked salmon crostini. It consists of three nice size toasted sourdough rounds each topped with a very generous portion of pureed (for lack of a more precise term) smoked salmon, avo, and Crème Fraiche and beautifully garnished with super thinly sliced cucumber and radish, and sprigs of fresh dill. To both of our palates it simply had little flavor, not even smoked salmon flavor. We requested some (sorry) salt which improved it a bit, but still just not much flavor to be a do again for us. We shared the knife and fork Caesar salad which they very interestingly and pleasingly do here with slices of Little Gem. It is a very nice presentation and the kitchen split the salad for us before presenting! Each plate looked like a full order! I dunno how anyone could eat the whole, unshared salad. While good, there was just for us none of the robust flavor we look for in a Caesar. But that's us. As halibut was offered as the Fresh Catch of the day we decided to share that. Again the shared dish came out on plates split in the kitchen (at no extra charge) and get this, the portion of halibut was not broiled and then cut into two portions. It was cut into two portions and then broiled for each plate! This is how a class kitchen does it. Small effort on the kitchen's part which speaks volumes to patrons. Triple A plus on the kitchen's commitment to extraordinary attention to putting a perfectly prepared plate on the table. The Clay Pigeon kitchen does not begrudge shared plate orders. Which for old farts like us with small appetites is a such a wonderful thing. And the halibut was cooked to absolute perfection, perfectly flakey and moist. The mushrooms that accompany the dish were quite tasty but the parmesan broth while pleasant, just did not add any complementary flavor or enhancement to the fish in our opinion. And the Swiss chard or whatever greens, were tough. But then keep in mind we're from the South where greens are cooked to the point where they can be eaten if you're six months old or a hundred and six. We really like this venue and will definitely be back.

Yelp
Went to Clay Pigeon for dinner and had a mixed experience with the food, which is why I give it 3 stars. I enjoyed half the items ordered and didn't enjoy one of the main entrees or my drink. The ambiance of the place is nice, chill vibes, ambient lighting, not to loud. I'd recommend this restaurant for a date night or elder family dinner. I wouldn't come here if you're a vegetarian, they didn't have any items besides the salads. This is definitely a meat eater/wild game eater heaven. We ordered the catch of the day and it tasted awful, the mushrooms and sauce were good. The fish itself tasted like how burnt eggs taste on a skillet. Extremely disappointed in this entree. The homemade pasta was a great choice though, we shared it and loved it. The butternut squash croquettes were also really excellent and interesting.

Yelp
Went here for our engagement celebration. My fiancé pick this place out and they did not disappoint. I had the duck and my fiancé had that braised pork or beef? I can't remember but it was very delicious. The price isn't bad either for the quality or the food and the service. Oh and the date cake was to die for. We actually came back for just that!

Yelp
Casual upscale dining. Food is spectacular. Every dish was a hit with the exception of the knife and fork Caesar Salad. It desperately needed salt.
