The Best Wineries with Food in Napa Valley | Eater SF

"Clif Family Winery (yes, owned by the same people behind Clif Bar) is a wine tasting room and lunch spot in one, touting its own farm and Bruschetteria food truck. Available daily, the Morning-themed tasting Rise and Wine ($65) offers wine-paired brunch bites, while the seasonal wine tasting ($50) is less brunch-themed and more seasonal. Notably, both tasting experiences require reservations, but if you want something more casual, last-minute visitors can order right from the food truck (Wednesday through Sunday) and opt for a patio tasting." - Dianne de Guzman

Clif Family Winery Review - Napa - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"If you feel like you’re as far from being a wine expert as Lady Gaga is from being a high school football coach, going to Clif Family Winery in St. Helena is a good warm up. No one at this winery, which was started by the Clif Bar people, will make you feel like you know less about wine than you do nuclear physics. Everyone here is incredibly friendly and will joke about their granola bar origins during wine tastings (don’t miss the rosé). They also serve great flatbreads and lamb meatballs. Buy a few bottles and drink them in the sun on the back patio - and maybe grab a few Clif Bars for the road on your way out." - Will Kamensky

The food is FANTASTIC! Four of us enjoyed the Chicory Goddess Salad, the Firecracker Salad, the Porchetta Bruschetta, the Funghi Bruschetta, and the Cured Bruschetta. We have eaten here several times. For us, it's one of those must-visit places whenever we're in the Napa Valley.

I’ve heard good things about this place and was finally able to go. Wow, the wine is so crisp and vibrant! We did the little food and wine pairing. I don’t even lean towards rosé or whites, but I liked those, too! And all of the little touches like the herbs and blueberries that are harvested from their farm, amazing. Even the location feels like you’re pulling up to someone’s home. And our server was Kevin. What a great guy! Super welcoming, it felt like we’d been friends for a long time. Towards the end, I asked him to make a recommendation based on what I already told him about my flavor profiles, he brought the perfect wine and I ended up buying a bottle of it. I now have a membership and can’t wait to go back again soon. Thank you so much for a truly special experience. What you have is magic.

Google
Wow is what we walked away after our tasting. Scott was our guide and created a tasting of reds for us. The Kits killer cab and the Howell mountain cabs were amazing. We were running short on time but coming back on the weekend. The food truck had some amazing food and paired well with the wines. Highly recommend

Wine tasting with paired treats and well-spoken and engaging narrative from the host, Cliff. We did the red cabs and folks, these are delicious! Add this to your list and make a reservation. Absolutely worth it.

This place is the best! Great wine, and service. Very chill outdoor patio great for relaxing and sipping. The food truck is VERY GOOD. You must get the polenta tots.

Google
Nice, casual vibe. Masculine energy and bar-like atmosphere. The wines were good. Sophia, the chef, did an excellent job pairing foods with the wines that we were served. I would recommend this winery for friends, but not for dates.

The host America was friendly, professional & knowledgeable. The wine had a beautiful taste, smell & aroma. The pairing bites were perfect with the 4 wines we sampled. The mushroom flat bread we purchased in addition was delicious.

Yelp
What a gem! This small, yet mighty tasting room provides relaxed Napa Valley vibes, without compromising on the impeccable wines the valley is known for. They were able to accommodate us for a tasting on a midweek walk in. Keegan took great care of us and provided us with phenomenal service. I had eyed the Viognier prior to arriving and I was excited to sip and savor, but before that, I started with the Unoaked Chardonnay. It was crisp, refreshing and lived up to the tropical fruit flavors they boasted about. Next up was my highly anticipated, Viognier. It did not disappoint! So many of their wines are a hit.; Gary's Improv Zinfandel was also at the top of my list. They also have a food truck with delicious bruschetta with creative toppings ( think flatbread pizza). I had the Funghi Bruschetta and it was absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed my visit to Cliff and I'm strongly thinking of joining their wine club. It's a must visit.

Yelp
Part of our St. Helena wine passport. Such a cute experience. They had our name written on a table for us acknowledging our anniversary, making us feel so special! Little touches like this does not cost them a lot of money, but means so much to the guest experience. Antonia was helping us, and she was super sweet, friendly and informative. We let her know of our time constraint and she was able to speed up the tasting for us getting us caught back up in our itinerary. Tasting came with food pairing which made every wine taste just a little bit better. The mustard is life-changing and I really wish they made it available for sale. Thank you for being a part of our Saint Helena tour. We really had a great time there.

Yelp
What a great casual vibe! The Clif family knows more than bars...was really impressed with what they've done to make this winery feel cozy and completely approachable. Came across this winery as part of the Uncorked St Helena wine passport and was delighted with their Howell Mountain cabs. Apparently their food truck serves up some killer dishes too, but didn't try it because of timing for this and other visits. Great gift idea for anyone who is a cycler...check out the cool bottle!

Yelp
Popped in to pick up my quarterly wine allocation and enjoyed a mini tasting while there! I scheduled my pickup for a Friday at noon, but ended up arriving closer to 2:00pm. The staff were very accommodating with my impromptu chang in plans, and greeted me with a personalized sign and order waiting for me. I ended up sitting at the bar, chatting with the awesome clif family crew and sampling some of their newer release wines. They are offering a special on their 2016 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (one of my all-time favorite cabs!) - nearly half off usual pricing, and buy 6 and receive a magnum free! Be sure to stock up for the holidays ;)

Yelp
Came here on Wednesday evening for the food truck and a glass of wine Food truck had Vietnamese theme and I had the fiery coleslaw and the pork. Delicious! Nice fresh crunch heat noodles. Great prices. Good food! Wine was the sauv Blanc. Must day definitely love the non NZ over the top citrus! Great place. Good food. Great ambiance and convenient location. Will be back!!!

Yelp
Clif Family Winery offers organically farmed wines paired with seasonal food prepared by their culinary team. During my visit, I enjoyed the seasonal wine tasting, which included: - 2022 Sauvignon Blanc - 2023 Rose of Grenache with the raspberry flavored cookie, similar to a Clif bar - 2021 Gary's Improv Zinfandel with a tart - 2021 Kit's Killer Cabernet Sauvignon with bruschetta with mushrooms I loved each of the wines and the food and wine pairings! In addition to the small bites, they also have snacks available for purchase. We enjoyed some seasoned nuts and chocolate-covered almonds. The tasting room is very modern and welcoming. They have seating around the bar as well as additional seating inside and a big patio outside. They have a food truck on site that is well-known in the area. I will be coming back just to try that and also to enjoy more of their wine too! They also offer wines by the glass and bottle and walk-ins are welcome! Our wine educator Antonia was very passionate about the wine, food and experience and was a great host!

Yelp
Great wine tasting spot! Food is delish too. It's a recommendation from one of the wineries we toured! The place is large with an expansive patio with good shade options for comfort! The owner/manager was very friendly as was the rest of the staff we interacted with. It's only mins from a number of wineries and a great spot to put some food in your belly after all that wine! Lol Try the mushroom flatbread- EXCELLENT!!!! We also had a Thai lettuce wrap item (forgetting the name) but man was it tasty too! Both hit the spot and prepared us sufficiently for more wine tasting thereafter!

Yelp
Our Sunday brunch at Clif's was lovely. They have food truck onsite and had offerings that everyone was able to share. I absolutely enjoyed the salad as it was really light. The chicken entrees we ordered were also very tasty. We purchase a bottle of Sauv Blanc from the tasting room. Service was pleasant as well. Next time you are in St. Helena, try this place out.

Yelp
Great indoor and outdoor venue. Dog friendly outside I believe. They have a food truck out back that I have heard was good but cannot speak to as I didn't order. They do take walking at the bar. They have a cute gift shop area with their local products.

Yelp
Wow - what a great surprise! We must have driven by this tasting room dozens of times without stopping in but we purchased a wine pass which included Clif Family and so we finally did. And wow! Super friendly environment and service. The tasting included some light food pairings that were delicious. We enjoyed the wines a lot! On a nice day there are outside tables for sitting but it was a little chilly so we sat inside. They also have a food truck on site so you can grab something and enjoy a glass of wine if you would rather not have a full tasting. We really enjoyed this spot and will definitely be back!

Yelp
We enjoyed our wine tasting with food pairing along with food truck food. Everything was a delicious and Carlos was a great wine host. Sitting in the outdoor patio was fun and relaxing. From red to rose wines, and fire cracker salad and bruschetta to cookies. Food pairing with wine included - original clif bar, blue cheese and jam, carnitas on sourdough. Everything was yummy and hit the spot for lunch. Left happy and satisfied.

Yelp
Great wines, people, atmosphere. I really like their wines and even got to meet the winemaker once! I got to tell her how solid and delicious they were. I think all the wines are from their own estate and organic too. They also "give back" to communities. Win-win
google avatar

Yelp
Who knew that the makers of the best protein bar are also amazing wine and foodies. I was blown away. Jeremy and Magnus you were fantastic. The pairing between the food and the wine was the key. You even got me to sign up for a wine club! The flavor of the food combined with the wine tasting sealed the deal. I hate horseradish, but Magnus, you made me love it. The perfect temperature of the beef with the horseradish sauce won me over. However, the mushroom bruschetta took me over the edge. The wine with the bruschetta is indescribable. Clif family are much more than granola bars...don't miss the personal, Clif family wine with food pairing when in Napa. Jermey and Magnus you are amazing.

Yelp
My friend and I had a very lovely time at Clif Family Winery. The moment you walk in you are greeted with a friendly smile and a hello. We did our tasting in the Enoteca it was simply beautiful. After we sipped espresso on the patio outside the main tasting room. Definitely visit this winery if you live in the area or you're visiting it will quickly become a favorite.

Yelp
Finally, after two years living in St Helena, I found my way inside. Actually came in for a cup of coffee and, as it happens here rather often, it turned into a wine tasting event :) Wines are not to my taste and yet, those are good wines. Nevertheless, it is a definite *****. Plase has a unique home like feel, nice set up outside, clean and fun. However, the best asset they have is their staff. Great and very welcoming team. Thank you, guys.

Yelp
This tasting kind of blew my mind. Apparently I was the only one in our party that didn't associate Clif Family Winery with the legendary Clif Bars that have been a household staple for decades. "Rise and Wine" was the tasting we enjoyed. The food parings were the most thoughtful I've experienced in the valley. White wine was the focus and while I'm one who tends to prefer red wine, this made sense for our 10:00 am pairing. Who doesn't love eggs and Chardonnay? As you can see from the photos, the flowers are delicately placed on the yogurt cocoa pastries, Journeyman Salami, Cheddar scone, Cowgirl creamery cheese. Every detail was on point. We left both informed about the legendary entrepreneurs and with a new favorite tasting experience. Honorable mention to the Clif Food Truck. Bruschetta is creative, fresh and tasty. I crave the salads with roasted chicken.

Yelp
If you didn't realize that Clif (yes, the same Clif who owns Clif Bars) owns a winery, you're not alone! We've stopped by here twice and loved everything about this winery! Friendly, casual, fun and overall a great place to visit when you can! We first came here in February 2022 after a Calistoga mud bath, wanting a wine tasting and some food. Their wine tasting was accompanied by three delicious cheeses and a fun host! We also ended up grabbing lunch from their yummy food truck. This most recent visit, we opted for lunch and a glass of wine each. Their fried chicken sammie and hot link were incredible! Paired with a nice glass of wine? Incredible! We definitely use Clif as a conversation started all the time! Check it out!

Yelp
This was our first stop of 3 wineries to visit for the day. Clif isn't the typical winery overlooking vineyards I imagine when I think of Napa. It felt more like sitting on a back patio next to the parking lot restaurant type feel. The staff was amazing and very engaging sharing knowledge about the Clif family and each wine and cheese. I could've done without the cheese. The Rose was my favorite, the fruity taste was perfect and refreshing for such a warm day. Clif also has a bruschetteria food truck on site. I ordered the Cured Bruschetta (Smoked Salmon, smashed Avocado, Radish, Jalapeño, Crème Fraiche, Cilantro and Everything Seasoning). It was delicious! It doesn't look like much but it was actually quite filing. It was great that they allowed us to eat our food at our table along with the wine tasting. Other than Clif not being very picturesque I had a great experience and enjoyed everything else!

Chris V.

Yelp
The Clif Family crew is amazing! Such friendly service in a casual atmosphere with elevated food and wine!

Yelp
I came here during Napa Neighbors weekend, and the experience really was like hanging with a good neighbor. Jessica took us on quite the wine tasting journey - giving us background in the winery's history, the winemaker's approach, and even a bit about the terroir (she brought out soil samples - legit!). We tried a few unique varietals for the area, like the viogner, which is always a welcome surprise in the land of chard and cab. We also took home some of their food products - their solar grown honeys and chocolates! Overall, really enjoyable wines and a phenomenal experience. Will definitely be back soon!
google avatar

Kristi C.

Yelp
We book the seasonal tasting that came with four tastings and three different foods to pair with it. We enjoyed the experience. If you sign up for the wine club, you agree to buy 6 bottles at least 3 (or 4) times a year. It was tempting because we spent 100 on the experience and another hundred buying wine and jam. It's also nice because you can share the tastings with your friends. Still hard to justify signing up for the wine club.
google avatar

Yelp
We love this place! Good wine, friendly staff and excellent food truck. Came today with our friends who are members for their Christmas party. Complimentary food, drinks & live music. We come here often so today was a nice treat.

Yelp
We arrived at our hotel in Napa just after 4 w all wine tastings closing at 5. We called the closest to us, which was Clif, and Jessica said that while it's too late to do the full pairing experience - "come have fun w her"... and that's exactly what we did. She was an absolutely wonderful (and funny) host. She shared the flavored nuts and chocolates which we bought packs of to bring home. The wine was nice enough to buy 1/2 a case and we went back again on our last day to enjoy the food truck - crispy duck rice and a glass of wine There are so many wine experiences to be had in Napa, and of all different caliber. I can say that I wouldn't visit Napa again without stopping by Clif and definitely not without buying $50+ in little foodie goodies

Yelp
I saved my last 2021 Yelp review for one of my favorite wineries in Napa Valley, in St. Helena, specifically. This review is long-overdue. We visited Cliff Family Winery at least 5-6 times in 2021. Our first time at Clif was back in 2016 when we did a biking trip through Napa, starting in Yountville and ending with wine and some lunch from Clif's Bruschetteria. Since then we have been huge fans and love their story. Everyone I've interacted with here have been so welcoming and friendly. We chat with Miles when calling about our food truck orders and work with Ashley and Shannon for our wine club allocations and pickups. The outdoor patio is perfect for a wine tasting and for delicious food from the "Food Truck". It's actually just the ordering front, the food is actually prepared in a kitchen a the building next door. I'm partial to red wines and really enjoy their Zinfandel's, Cabs, and Grenache. The Grenache is an excellent everyday wine. It is more on the medium side and is probably the closest wine here to a Pinot. The regular release and Estate Zinfandel's are both great wines. Give them about 30-60 minutes to open up in the decanter and you're golden. If you don't finish the bottle on the first day, you'll be in for a treat on day two. The wine is even better! I love Cabernet Sauvignons and Kit's Killer Cab is one of my go-to Cabs! Let this one open up a bit too and just enjoy. I have a 2016 Croquet Cab I'm saving for a special occasion and just picked up a 2018 Cold Springs Cab last month. I highly recommend joining their wine club for access to small production wines and discounts. Also, to have a regular supply of their wines! You can also contact them to customize each wine club shipment or in-person pickup.

Yelp
While walking to our dinner, we had an extra 45 minutes to spare so we popped into this winery and was so glad we did! EVERYONE was so nice, knowledgeable and friendly. Come in and buy a bottle. We bought their Chardonnay and was very pleased. Thank you Carlos, Tyler and Keegan.

Yelp
This is my second visit and I'm surprised that I didn't review it from last time, I must have forgotten. EASY 5 stars. The wines are all really good, the setting both indoor and outdoors is comfortable and visually appealing. The food pairing is beautiful and goes great with the wine and makes everyone happy. The food truck outside is convenient if anyone wants a snack. There is a mexican market right next door that has a full menu of mexican food. Our server/wine expert for the day was Tyler. He was the PERFECT person to tour us through our tasting. He provided a plethora of information about the wine, some of the process, about the winemakers, about the winery itself and how it was founded etc. He had subtle jokes which I appreciated and was entertained by and he was extremely knowledgeable. I almost always learn something new when I go wine tasting and I had several questions for him and he had incredible astute and informative answers. He really had a huge impact for me on the overall experience. He was patient with us and a pleasure to meet. Next time we go, I will request him to be our guide. There were no wines that I tried that I did not care for. I think I had 5 - 7 tastes in total. The tasting room is not on the grounds of the vineyard, so if you are looking for that experience, you may want to try elsewhere. If you are going for strictly a nice tasting experience, this will do nicely. They have nice and clean bathrooms and a free parking lot right next to the tasting room.

Yelp
First of all, shoutout to Jordan for guiding us through a great wine tasting experience here. We did the brunch tasting, and everyone in my party agreed that it was the best experience of our trip. The experience is 5 small bites, and basically you get to try different wine pairings as you try the different food elements. We sat at the outdoor patio and Jordan was great at explaining everything. Make a reservation and you definitely won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Carnita M.

Yelp
We did the Rise & Wine tasting and overall had a good experience. We were seated inside at a table with comfortable bench seating and were the only party seated inside that morning. Our tasting came with mostly white wines and ended with a red. For our food, we had cheese with lemon preserve, yogurt with strawberry preserve, biscuit with prosciutto, and eggs with a side of smoked almonds. My favorites were the yogurt, biscuit, and Gewürztraminer wine, a German dessert wine that was not super sweet or strong at all. We went home with a bottle of that plus a couple of food items. This tasting experience was a nice way to start our day.
google avatar

Rebecca W.

Yelp
Second time at Cliff, this time it was hotter. Don't sit outside at 3pm in the summer, folks! Our server guy was amazing, he literally gave us his hat. Wine was good. This was a low key laid back place. I'll return!

Katie P.

Yelp
The food truck was great! I loved that I could order wine by the glass. The man behind the bar, scott, was so friendly and welcoming!

Yelp
This review is for their Bruschetteria Food Truck only, although we had a few glasses of wine to go with our food. Clif Family Winery has been on my radar for awhile due to their food truck onsite, and with all the restrictions on dining due to COVID I figured our latest visit to Napa Valley was a perfect opportunity to try it out. LOGISTICS While they have their main tasting room out front, Clif has a great outdoor patio in the back with tables appropriately spaced out and umbrellas for shade. Tastings are also being done on the patio so some tables may be reserved for scheduled tastings, otherwise the patio seating for the food truck is subject to availability on a first come first serve basis. You can even order glasses of their wine to have with your food. Minor side note about the food truck - they don't have a printed menu and will require you to scan a QR code or use their website to look at the latest menu. Cards are the only form of payment being accepted. FOOD The fiance and I had ordered the following with some glasses of wine... Funghi Bruschetta - This was really good - super flavorful and savory. The blend of mushrooms went great with the cheese, and on top of toast it made for a great combo of textures. It was definitely one of the better mushroom dishes I've had in awhile. As a vegetarian option this is a solid choice if you like mushrooms. This also went really well with a glass of their viognier. Nashville Hot Chicken Bruschetta - The fiancé has been on a Nashville hot chicken spree... so when he saw this on the menu it was an obvious choice. It's basically an open faced spicy fried chicken sandwich, but it was definitely one of the better ones we've tried. The chicken was juicy and flavorful - not at all cardboard dried. Plus the sauce was just the right amount of spicy. The bread was really good with soaking the sauce. One of the best parts was the pickles - the sourness of the pickles really complimented the chicken and sauce. It's a messy experience to eat it an we definitely recommend using a fork and knife, but if you see it on their menu don't pass it up! Be sure to try this with a red wine, as it definitely went better than lighter wines like the viognier. The fiancé had this with a glass of Improv Zinfadel. Arancini - What's not to love about deep fried risotto balls? The risotto was perfectly cooked and creamy despite it being breaded and fried. A very good appetizer to eat outside. It went really well with pomodoro sauce, which gave it a nice zesty tang. Padron Peppers - This was a seasonal appetizer / side dish... padron peppers remind me more of shisito peppers, and when they're blistered they have a pleasant taste that's between peppery and zesty. Once in awhile you'll get one that has a kick, but otherwise this was a tasty dish to eat. I really liked the cream sauce that came with it, made for a nice cooling effect with the peppers. OVERALL In terms of food quality vs price, a solid 5 stars in my book. They also have a nice outdoor setup with plenty of hand sanitizer around. The staff were friendly and accomodating. I'm a little overdue on this review since we came here right after the big thunderstorm that triggered the Lightning Complex fire, but I'd still come back when things are normal. This place is definitely on my list for future places to eat... and future places to have a wine tasting at!

Yelp
We've driven by Clif Family Winery for years and never given it a thought other than thinking it looked like a nice place for a picnic. A friend recently recommended it as one of their favorite between wine tasting spots for a quick lunch and we decided to give it a try and we were rather pleasantly surprised. The outdoor covered patio was a nice spot on a slightly dreary day and the food from the bruschetta truck was delicious. We grabbed a bottle of rosé and wished we had more time to sit and enjoy. The staff was very attentive and we'll definitely add this to our regular Napa lunch spots!

Kris J.

Yelp
Clif Family offers food and wine experiences that make for an enchanting visit. My spouse and I enjoyed a Pasta e Vino tasting in their Enoteca Salon on a sunny day in Spring 2024. We were pleasantly surprised at the privacy -- they offer the tasting only to one party at a time. The Pasta e Vino experience is held in a contemporary, neatly styled room with seating facing vineyards and the western hills of the Napa Valley through huge opened bi-fold doors. Keegan was our host -- he was personable and informative. The pairing involves the best wines Clif Family makes, as well as an elevated food pairing from the Clif Kitchen. We were simply blown away by the five course lunch, which was designed to showcase each wine offered, and did so beautifully. The chef himself, Will, brought out each plate and described each course in detail, mentioning which ingredients came from the Clif Family Farm. The meal stunned us with its preparation and deliciousness. The amuse-bouche -- magical! House made tortellini! Zinfandel-braised short ribs! The TCHO chocolate budino! Even the charcuterie sang. Keegan identified the source location of each wine poured as well as its attributes without any hard sell whatsoever. We hadn't known Clif made the vineyard-designated wines they poured, and thought they were superb. What a pleasant exploration into the very best Clif Family has to offer! Thank you, Keegan and Will, and Clif Family.

Yelp
Toni was amazing! She poured us fantastic wines and made my fiancé and I feel so at home! We signed up for the club and had Bruschetta from the food truck on property. Highly recommend Clif for a chill spot with amazing service.

Yelp
Stopped in for a tasting before a friend's wedding, and we were absolutely blown away by our experience here. First, the wine was delicious. The food was a perfect match. The ambience is relaxed and nice; just where you'd want to spend time. But the true standout was the service. Mickey led our tasting, and he shared his knowledge, passion, and suggestions with us. We had to jet to get to our wedding, but we did NOT want to leave. We'll be back, and he's why. (Ok, the EXCELLENT wine might help too). If you're in St. Helena, this is a must, and Mickey is the one.

Yelp
We wouldn't have known about the winery if not for the little big book of experience offered through the chamber of commerce at St Helena. Clearly that book of experiences, is driving people to this winery and potentially business to the place. Even though Carlos was really nice, the associate who was talking to us.. on how much we saved with the wineries was downright condescending. So to the guy I engaged, I say - bro you are working as an associate at a winery for crying out loud. Why do the trash talk to the customers bringing you business. . . . . . This three stars is for Carlos and not for the winery.

Yelp
Trying to catch up with my Cali reviews here so the Clif Family Winery will start off this journey. This winery really blew our expectations. It wasn't a mansion size complex but what made this tasting unique from the others was their food truck serving the most delicious organic bruschette bites. You can take them with you to the tasting table and the sommelier will give you pairing suggestions. I strongly suggest having a tasting reservation because it was pretty full when we arrived. Ours was at 1pm and our seats were already waiting for us. I volunteered to order from the Bruschetteria food truck and the sommelier was kind enough to wait for me while my friends sip their complimentary wine. Tasting costs vary here from $30 to $95 but we opted for the regular Yellow Jersey Tasting and trust, it was more than we asked for. We got to try a 2016 Napa Chardonnay, 2015 Bici Red Rhone Blend, 2016 Gary's Improv Zinfandel, 2015 Kit's Killer Howell Cab and a couple of bonuses that I couldn't remember the names. During our tasting the buzzer went off so I went back to the food truck and boy, I was salivating because everything looked so amazing. We the Arancini (breaded risotto Milanese), Porchetta (pig), Carni (beef brisket), Il Pepe (pepperoni) and one veggie called Fresco (melted burrata, roasted cauliflower). Everything was simply scrumptious but my favorite was the Porschetta. Each bruschette was about $12 and it's great for sharing. We basically just sliced them up so everyone could try a piece. They were so fresh, so good and the quality of the ingredients was on point. Loved this winery. Again, it's not big place but they do offer both indoor and outdoor dining. Tastings are held inside and they also have a private room. The Clif Family Winery is definitely a must stop when visiting wine country. Fun fact: This winery is owned by the same folks who own Clif Bar and they do offer them in the premises :)

Yelp
I work for a popular wine company and this was my first trip to wine country. Everyone was friendly and the food was delicious. Of course the wine was phenomenal, but it was the service that blew my group of friends away. Five star service! I attended a wedding with friends and we dropped by Clif Family Winery for a tasting before rushing off to the ceremony. Our server/sommelier, Mickey, was both attentive and extremely knowledgeable. He led us through our wine tasting, and recommended some of his own favorite bottles. Sadly we were short on time and couldn't stay longer. We pledged to return the next day, but realized our flight home was much earlier than we remembered. We will be returning to this winery though when we can! If you're in St. Helena, this is a MUST on your list of places to visit. Ask for Mickey!

Yelp
Very personable and easy going winery! We did their bike rental and had a lot of fun biking around napa. You can grab free clif snacks before you bike, get an espresso for energy, and come back to enjoy the best food truck food ever.

Yelp
Their wines are a new favorite. There's street parking as well as a private lot. Bathroom is clean. Initially didn't feel welcome on arrival. A server was at the front when we walked in. She didn't smile or greet us. We said we had a reservation at 130 and her response was "let me see about that", in a really unpleasant tone. Reservation located and she passed us off to someone else to seat us. From there the experience was excellent. I really liked that we were able to create our own experience rather than pre fixe. I chose all my favorite types and purchased five bottles to take home. I've only liked one chardonnay ever and Clif's changed that. I now like two and Clif's takes first place. It's super crisp. The Sauvignon Blanc is different (not in a negative way). It's not as crisp as most and is buttery on the back end, like I'd expect from a Chard. I really enjoyed the quaint atmosphere. I don't care for the large "commercial" wineries so much. I have nothing but praises (well, except for that brief entry moment).

Yelp
Great casual, friendly vibe. We did the mocktail flight before lunch and found it fun & tasty, with three small bites to go along with the three beverages. Our server Toni was a delight!

Yelp
This is an amazing winery that not only bottles great wines - especially their guertzmpeiners and Chardonnays, but their impeccable service and food products are high quality. During the pandemic, my husband and I got out for the first time around my birthday and they made the outdoor tasting so special. They took special attention to maintaining distance between the tables, being masked and sanitizing everything before we sat down. Their courtyard is perfect for outdoor tastings and having a bite. A huge plus is the food from the food truck. It's California style food that's fresh and super yum. We joined and became members so we now we can enjoy them on a regular basis!

Yelp
Started the day with the rise and shine pairing. It was fabulous!!! Service was excellent, very accommodating to food allergies, and ambiance was amazing!

Yelp
Great wine, food, and music. I loved the pairings! Shout out to Scott! It's a nice back patio we did the tasting at. You can see the vineyards on the hill. It doesn't have the classic Napa feel in the vineyards as you're tasting, but we still enjoyed ourselves!

Yelp
This place is lovely. I love how the staff explains the clif family story to each guest with as much enthusiasm as the last time. Great modern bathrooms. Loved this stop on our adventure through wine country. We will be back and we'd recommend to friends. I'm not sure if there is a coffee menu but we missed that when we visited.

Yelp
Lovely tasting room. Great wines with an adorable patio. Their food truck was top tier and paired well with most all of their wines.

Yelp
This was my first stop during my Napa day trip. Clif Family Winery is a small and cute winery that is located further north. The winery is located in a small orange building that can be easily missed if you're not careful (just like how we missed the turn). Tip: Get ready to make a left on Vidovich Ln as soon as you see the plaza with Nimbus Arts and Napa Soap. There are only a handful of spots in the front but there are more parking in the back of the building. If the name of the winery sounds familiar, it's because this is the winery that is owned by the founders of Clif Bar & Company. As soon as you walk into the winery, you will see a bike as well as lots of energy bars. The atmosphere of the indoor as well as outdoor seating areas are great. It is a very intimate and friendly atmosphere that gives a nice cozy feel to the place. The staffs are also very friendly which adds to the experience. We were seated right away since I had made a reservation. I recommend making a reservation especially if you have a specific tasting experience you are looking for. There are a handful of choices so take a look on their website and plan out your visit. Since we had plans to visit other wineries for the remaining of the day, we decided to order only one bottle of wine to share among our party of 5. We decided to go with the '16 Viognier to go with our lunch. I was told that Napa doesn't have a lot of great value food options (mostly expensive restaurants), which is why I feel like the Bruschetteria food truck at Clif Winery is a great choice. It is a food truck that focuses on the farm to table type concept and offers a variety of items ranging from salad to bruschetta (like flatbread pizza) to rotisserie chicken. We ended up getting the cavalo salad, funghi bruschette, pollo arrosto (half order), fried oysters, and a warm cookie. All the food was great and I enjoyed every single dish! My personal favorite was probably the cavalo salad. The warm cookie was actually not as warm as I'd imagined but it was still really good. If you're looking for a great place to enjoy some wine and food, check out the Clif Family Winery! Pros: - Lots of great wine options - Can customize your tasting experience however you want - Food options with a great value - Lots of Clif bars! - Offers a bike tour! Cons: - Location is relatively small and easily missed

Yelp
The team at Davies Vineyards referred us to this winery as a group that stays open a little later. We walked in just a few minutes after 4:15pm on a Saturday. When we walked in asking for a tasting the gentleman was very disrespectful and treated us poorly. He indicated that all he could offer was a half glass as they serve their last tasting at 4:15pm. In an extremely aggressive manner, the the host said that he could offer half pours and that's all he could do. If the host have said the exact same things but not as rude, I would have been fine, but this guy was incredibly disrespectful and shouldn't work in the industry. After we left this terrible place, we went to Merryvale. The folks at Merryvale welcomed us with smiles, and we ended up joining their wine club. Clif Family needs to get their act together, and they need to learn how to treat people with respect.
