Yelp
I've been to many events at Climate Pledge: hockey, basketball, and many a concert. The venue is huge, so if you're looking for an intimate experience with the band you're planning to see, this is not your venue. But it works well for a large concert venue.
Pros:
- Despite its size, Climate Pledge is surprisingly easy to get into. I'm always amazed how efficiently they're able to get scores of people in.
- The staff is generally very helpful. Ask if you're lost or need help. They'll usually oblige.
- Check your ticket for the most convenient door for entry. It'll make the process even smoother for you. Although you can enter at a less crowded door that may be a little further away. Case in point: Door 8 is always super busy. But 10 and 12 are often much less busy.
- Mass transit works well near the arena, although things can get a little more complicated with buses when it's near concert time. The best option, I've found, is to take the light rail to Westlake, and head upstairs to catch the monorail. The monorail gets you pretty close to the venue. (And, if you're using your ORCA card, you'll only spend 50 cents more for the monorail ride.)
- If you're parking along 2nd downtown or in Belltown, you can catch an Uber scooter to the venue. They're generally easy to find, and there are lanes dedicated to scooters and bikes on 2nd.
- Food and drink are decent, especially in the club areas. Unless you're vegetarian. Then things are a little less available. Food and drink are expensive, but not much more than other large event venues.
- Seats are comfy, and surprisingly easy to navigate through. I prefer the club seating, but the suites are also nice. There's ample room in GA, but be prepared for it to be crowded.
Cons:
- Always double-check what is allowed into the venue. You don't want to get caught with a prohibited item that you'll likely have to throw out. They're not nice if you've brought a prohibited item, and they cannot be convinced otherwise.
- Parking is a circus anywhere nearby, and even street parking can get very expensive for concerts (the street meters adjust costs upward on concert days).
- Immediately after an event it's hard to get around, there are so many people. Traffic will be terrible. And the monorail, which I like using, is also slammed.
