The 38 Best Restaurants in Milwaukee, Wisconsin | Eater

"This rough-around-the-edges southside mainstay has all the trappings of the definitive corner bar: The game is always on, the regulars are getting soused, and the tiny behind-bar flattop turns out some great snacks. The chicken wings are the bar’s calling card, the paradigm of what can be called the Milwaukee method (fry, sauce, then grill) for their prevalence about town. The result is one of charry caramelization, with vinegar tang and grill scorch marrying for a sensory titillation best not described, but experienced — and then chased with another cold one. Club G’s remains the ideal spot to start or end a night out in Bay View. Best for: A game, complete with beers, wings, and buddies." - Todd Lazarski

My boyfriend and I stopped in here yesterday. We had never been for food and had heard the wings were phenomenal. We ordered 20 wings total. They are told to be “fried and then grilled to perfection”. However, when we received our wings, they were a little bit soggy. We couldn’t quite understand how you could fry and then grill something and the skin would be soft. Honestly, they had a great flavor, but the texture was hard to get past. The music they were playing was actually a little bit scary, some kind of rock, but had very interesting sound effects. The music actually made me feel kind of uncomfortable. Then last night both my boyfriend and I were having pretty bad stomach issues. As we thought about it more, the wings honestly seemed like they were microwaved. Maybe it was the time of day we went. But I would not recommend this place for wings at all. Or the atmosphere. What a shame to be a Milwaukee staple and this was our experience

Google
Club Garibaldi is a Milwaukee staple! The service is exceptional and the food is extremely tasty. Always great vibes, awesome atmosphere. Absolutely recommend visiting Club G if you haven't already. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

Christian Gross

Google
Nah, this might be the best place for wings in Milwaukee. Off the beaten track. Amazing service! You can see the wings being made. The meat falls off the bone. The spice and rub was beyond outstanding!! Would recommend 300%

I didn't have any food but as an artist playing a gig there for the first time, it couldn't have been smoother. The sound guy was a certified badass, knew his shit and cared about what we were doing. Bartenders were super cool.. load in and out was convenient and quick. Would love to play here again.

Google
Disappointed in the wings being the reason for my visit and although knowing they don't offer take out I'd think they'd at least offer containers for the remainder of my meal. I left out with my food in a paper boat covered with my napkin. A younger white couple came in and ordered shortly after me, bartender appeared more enthused to serve them, it didn't look as if they wanted my black business so I won't be returning here again. I'd advise people of color to think twice before patronizing this business.

Google
Might be the best wings in Milwaukee. I have seen many music shows there as well. 2.50 cans of ice cold hamm's.

Theresa Bollhagen

Google
I love this place! Im always excited to go to shows here. The bartenders are awesome and it's reasonably priced. Always great shows, too.

Nellie Mielcarek

Google
Some of the best hot wings and grilled burgers in Milwaukee, the bartenders are awesome, the atmosphere is classic and I'm happy it has never changed!

Yelp
My review from 7 years ago still holds true. Great wings here, and yes I think they are spicy though most people would disagree with me on that. Their bleu cheese is delicious. Wing night is Wednesday, $1/wing. With the popularity of wing night, expect a bit of a wait. Three beers of the month, 6 wings, $21 not including tip.

Yelp
Great local bar! The owner is fantastic, good bar food, great music, everything you need on tap.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't written a review for Club Garibaldi yet. How embarrassing! It's one of my favorite local bars!! Come here to see some of my favorite bartenders around, and friendly customers as well. They keep the drinks flowing and the atmosphere fun. The food is great with specials throughout the week. Think simple, but delicious. Tuesday burger slider special, Wednesday wings, and Thursday BBQ and Korean pork sliders. Ya can't go wrong! This place is also great for watching games. There is a large back room with a huge projector. On Sundays, there's also a beer and wing special! Wings are amazing here! It's casual, fun, and lively with a neighborhood feel. Also offering comedy shows, and music on certain nights! Cheers to Garibaldi!

Yelp
Service was terrible.. I sat at the bar for 30 minutes, the bartender would not serve me he looked right at me but would continue to serve anybody new that walked up or was already there. I even spoke up and said excuse me very loud he ignored me and kept serving others.. He even checked up on others that was sitting next to me but wouldn't speak to me.. It was extremely intentional, I was the only black person at the bar IDK if that had anything to do with it or not but he intentionally refused to serve me or assist me. The bartender name is Julio (according to another bartender that was working) It doesn't feel well leaving this review but I really do hope management see's this and asks questions. Looking forward to sending other black men & women here to raise awareness and encouraging them to leave reviews as well.

Yelp
Best kind of dive! Solid food, the ocasional live concert and a friendly, welcoming bar staff make this a gem of a watering hole. The wings are legendary and some of the best in the city. Only prepared one way, but grilled to perfection . Wednesday and Sundays nights are their wing special so be prepared to wait, it's very busy and they fry them up in a small kitchen at the end of the bar. They have a unique taste and a nice kick. They have food specials every day and Tuesdays they have these massive beef sliders for $3 a piece. Juicy and flavorful, highly recommend! Club Garibaldi is also a concert venue and they book some great local and national acts. Great sound in an intimate space. Note: The grill closes early on Friday/Saturday show nights at 8 pm. Great Bay View dive with some solid bar food and shows.

Yelp
My wife and I were trying to go to the Palomino Bar and Grill across the street. However, due to TripAdvisor not having the post Covid hours up to date, that place was closed. We decided to try Club Garabaldi and it was the most unfriendly experience we have had in a long time. We felt like we were intruders and were not welcome. The bartender was rude and did not allow us to sit in the band area where they were doing soundtracks even though the band said it was OK that we sat there. My wife ordered the mushroom Swiss burger. However, when it came out it had cheddar cheese on it. Bartender brought us a cold piece of Swiss and mushrooms on the side. I ordered a special of the day, which was the "Wild Bill", described to be a crispy chicken patty with "buffalo wing sauce" and bacon. The chicken patty was so small and rectangular and burnt that I thought it was a frozen fish patty. I pointed this out to the bartender/server for thinking that we got someone else's order. She indicated that the cook was new and it was his first day. She insisted that we do not serve fish in this bar and that it was a chicken patty. I explained to her that there was no "wing sauce" on it like it said in the description and she indicated the wing sauce was fried into the patty. She then very rudely went to the back and got me a side of wing sauce, which I told her I did not want. I should point out that this "wing sauce" was like a sweet and extremely salty barbecue flavored marinade and did not have the consistency or the taste of a sauce at all. Not edible. If it wasn't for the fact that my wife and I were so hungry, I would have sent everything back. However we ate it and it was one of the worst experiences we have had with our food and service in a long time. The bartender/server did attempt to make it right when I paid the bill at the bar stating she took two dollars off for the mushroom Swiss burger. At this point, I could observe behind the bar immediately to my right, where the new cook was frying the food. The fryer vats were visible to me and I could see the fryer oil was black and looked like it had not been changed in months. That would explain the gross burnt crust on my chicken patty. For me, it was too little too late and what she took off in the two dollars is what she got back in a tip. I would not recommend this place to anyone, and will never be back even though the band sounded like they might be pretty good, and we were considering coming back while we sat there and listened to them sound check prior to being told to leave that room. I wish I had taken the photos of our food dishes for this review. I was not expecting to write this review, but after this experience I felt it was necessary to warn people that might be considering going here.

Yelp
I get it, rough part of town, you guys deal with all kinds of riff-raff but me and my friends showed up in peace but were met with hostility. Not sure why I had to be kicked out but apparently I am too hard-core for you folks.

Yelp
A family member was performing so I came to support and wasn't aware of the must be 21! I am 20 was stop by the bar asking for my id which I told him I forgot at home and that I just got off work and that I had a picture of the front and back of my ID and if it was okay just for us to watch our family member play and then leave he went on yelling at me about not having my physical ID and making a big deal outta something so little as in just saying " sorry we have a must be 21 rule we can't let you in" but I don't know if its because I am black young lady that he thought it was okay to yell and talk to me like I'm uneducated about not having my ID on me or slow the music was not that loud because we wasn't yelling and he heard everything we said highly unnecessary

Yelp
Tl:dr this place has the best wings in Milwaukee. I know, I know! People are very aggressive about the wings in this town. I also know that me finally taking a stand and pledging me allegiance to one place for wings is a controversial move during this election season, but it's time. GARIBALDI'S HAS THE BEST DAMN WINGS AROUND. You can order them in increments of 6, yes you can order them with ranch or blue cheese (LOTS of ranch for me) and yes they come with some dumb celery sticks I don't care about. But they come one way, house-made Garibaldi's style and they're amazing. Do not ask them for your wings any other way, they know better than you. Perfectly grilled with little hints of char with a hot sauce that's the flavorful, but not too hot. The wings almost fall off the bone, that's how tender the meat is. Yeah they got other stuff and yeah I'm guessing it's also pretty good, but WHY?! WHY WOULD YOU GET ANYTHING ELSE WHEN THE BEST WINGS ARE HERE?! With football season in full swing, call ahead, get your order in for delicious takeout and thank me later.

Yelp
I stopped here for lunch to use up another bookmark and to try the wings that people are saying are so good. The place is a small neighborhood bar and restaurant with a small bar and a few tables with a small kitchen. The woman working the bar was super friendly and made me feel comfortable but it was 10 minutes after opening and only other customer was in the place. They have a nice amount of taps to choose from so I had a city lights brew with my wings. Some people say that they have the best wings in town so I asked the bar tender what she thought and she said that she is a vegan and has never had them so I ordered them anyway. I don't know if I have ever had a vegan cook my meat for me but it made me think about it. I could see that my wings were cooking on a char grill so that is cool. The wings only come in one flavor which is the house flavor that came with celery and blue cheese sauce. The wings looked pretty good with nice grill marks and average size so not jumbo but not tiny. The wings were moist and tasty and not super messy. The house sauce is something I would never order if it was a flavor on a list from another place judging by the description the bar tender told me. The sauce is best described as hot wing sauce crashing into sweet bbq which was oddly satisfying with some heat. Ok the wings are pretty good with the house sauce I will give them but they didn't topple my favorite wings. This was a nice spot for a leisurely lunch and a beer.

Yelp
Phenomenal grilled wings. Great dive bar with music on weekends. Good atmosphere with local patrons.

Rick S.

Yelp
These are uniquely delicious wings. Grilled as opposed to fried, but fall off the bone texture with a char. Something special with the brine and rub. Haven't had them in a while and was very surprised to find them even better today.

Philip S.

Yelp
It was fine and fairly priced. Nothing to write home about though. Just a dive with reasonably priced bar food. Not the place to go to have your mind blown though. Pinball machines were cool. I just stopped in to get some curds and wings while waiting for the show to start at the Cactus Club. I strongly disagree with the people who think the wings were anywhere near the best in the city. They were passable. I think I personally prefer most fast food wings. I also felt it was strangely loud inside, like the volume inside the bar didn't really make sense to me.

Yelp
This is a quintessential neighborhood bar. A place where everybody knows your name, right? It sure felt that way. Sitting at the end of the bar, I watched local after local enter the bar to a minor celebration. Fellow regulars shouted out the person's first name and followed up with a friendly handshake or a pat on the back. Soon, he or she was holding a cold one and catching up on the recent happenings. It's not a fancy place, but it does well at what it does. Beers and basic adult beverages are served nice and cold. A limited menu of your favorite bar recipes is available if you're hungry. Service is friendly and happy to offer suggestions.

Yelp
This was my first time getting food from Club Garibaldi's. I got everything to go so that I could go home and eat in my stretchy pants whilst watching episode #735 of House Hunters. I ordered a lemonade while I waited for my food. The customer service was great. P.S. Be nice to the bartender, they're also the cook. At least tonight they were. You know that Iron Chef, the bald white guy from Cleveland with the noteworthy laugh? The bartender is totally his doppelganger. Although, I haven't heard his laugh. Maybe he's in witness protection in Milwaukee. Well damn, I really screwed that one up. Ooops. The Monday night taco special is highly recommended and the wings are even more highly recommended. Woah! This is good food! I love good bar food! The tacos are grilled flour tortillas, ground beef, beans, lettuce, onion, tomatoes, cheese, salsa, sour cream. I'm usually a corn tortilla, onion and cilantro sort of person but I enjoyed this just as much. Really, really good fries. Okay. These wings. These gd wings. Wow. Just wow. And fresh, crisp celery. Honey, I even ate all of the celery. You know over there on the east side right next to the Pick-N-Save where they have some really good wings? Yeah. You know. These are equally as good if not even better. A very similar preparation. Ladies and gents, these are the best wings in Milwaukee. Seriously. Yumm.

Yelp
I went on a 75 cent wing Wednesday after my friend told me it was the best wings in town. I would have to DISAGREE. I mean they had a Buffalo tangy flavor with no true spice while too grilled after being fried. Additionally, the wings were as small as it gets. Just look at the 12 wings for 9$ in my pic. Overall, wouldn't go back just because the wings are small and wing flavor is not savory or spicy for my liking.

Dr D.

Yelp
This place will Make u SICK'. We ate there 8 out of 8 SICK' Would have been 9 but my partner got called into work. Don't do it. U WERE WARNED

Yelp
The wings and service are always excellent!! The bathroom is always clean and the drinks are always on point ! This is the place to go for A chill good time!!!

Yelp
Club Garibaldi is a great place to stop for a drink and play a round of pool, game of pinball, or do some pull tabs. They have a wide selection of beers and plenty of tables in the back if you want to space out a bit.
google avatar

Zack F.

Yelp
I've never written a review on this place? Wow. Well, if you know hot wings you know club g. The wait is long for a reason so suck it up and prepare your innards. If you don't like it then leave because the rest of us will happily take your spot in line. This place is rad, affordable, with great service for no BS. Eat here, drink here, be merry and for love of god, tip your bartenders because they're the hardest workin' ones in this hood.

Yelp
Why would I dole out 5 stars for a dive bar you say, because i was treated like family from the minute I came in. I have been by Garibaldi more times than I can count. Never have I been in. This night though was different. It was election night and there was a static in the air that could be felt around Milwaukee especially Bay View as a whole. Garibaldi wasn't packed and wasn't overly busy or maybe because the place has the giant hall in the back people were just comfortably spread out. Either way it was the perfect space to watch who would be crowned the next POTUS. The spread of complimentary food they put out was magnificent and I did several shots and enjoyed several drinks with many of the patrons and possibly the owner. Although the night didn't turn exactly as planned Garibaldi has a special place in my heart for spots to go now. The food and the company I enjoyed made it a good night, one that I will never forget. They turned the music off and played the election results loud and on great flat-screens which all were able to see. Good stuff guys!

Donnie T.

Yelp
They have the best wings in bay view! By far almost even the greater milwaukee area, it is a smaller neighborhood bar so make sure you don't go on a busy night! Haha
google avatar

Sydney M.

Yelp
This batch of wings has too much sauce and some of them were a little cold. They have a little more spice than points east. Honestly I have been here before and had a better experience. The sauce had a little too much vinegar, and honestly 4 out of 12 wings were ice cold. The wings are not crispy and honestly a little limp. The napkins they brought to the table were covered in sauce. The jalapeño cheese curds had more of a flavoring than actual jalapeño. I recommend the normal ones. Price point for these is very high. I'm more inclined to go somewhere else! Or reheat my wings...

Matthew W.

Yelp
So I have been looking for new places in the Milwaukee area for decent wings. I did the usual Google search, read reviews on Yelp and also Reddit and this place was mentioned quite a bit as having great wings. It was compared to Points East Pub a lot and I believing Points East has some of the best wings I thought I would try this place. I went on a Tuesday night around 7:00 PM. The bartender was quick to get me a beer and take my order. I got the 5 piece wings for around $7, not a bad price I thought. I was considering the 10 piece but boy am I glad I went with the smaller portion. When the wings were brought out I was less than impressed by their size. Some of the smallest I have seen in a while. The smell well I could smell them from their place on the bar and was not impressed with that either. I decided to take a bite, instant regret. The wings were probably the worst I have ever had. They were soggy and I have no impression they were at all "grilled". Whoever came up with their sauce should be in jail. It had no sense of meaning and was way over powering. The meat slipped off the bone as if it had been sitting in a bath waiting to be heated up and served. I have seriously had better tasting wings from the frozen section of the grocery store. I couldn't even finish the wings I had due to their mushy consistency and terrible sauce. I wish I could comment on their ranch and blue cheese sauces but their wing sauce was so overpowering I couldn't taste either sauce, no matter how much I dipped them. I couldn't wait to get home to wash my hands of the terrible sauce smell. I will never visit this place again for food.

Yelp
I had their wings for the very first time and they were fall off the bone tender. The seasoning was excellent, I'd definitely go back JUST for the wings but the owner was very friendly and grateful to have patrons visiting. Lots of delicious beer on tap. The other food is also spot on like the broccoli cheddar bites and the loaded tater tots. Thanks for being open! We'll be back soon!
google avatar

Wes B.

Yelp
First time reviewing Club G but have dined there multiple times. A no frills dive bar with a small grill at the end of the bar. If you go during peak times expect to wait for wings. Wings are similar to Points East with the deep fry and then finish on the grill. I enjoy the flavor on Club G's wings over Points as there is a bit more heat to their wings but still a medium level of spice. The only side I have had here are the seasoned fries which are solid to go with the wings. Sunday is the best day to go with the pitcher special with wings. Definitely recommend for a Milwaukee wing eater.

Yelp
I have nothing positive to say about this place. We had a horrible experience waiting for wings during a previous visit. I understand they don't have a large grill and the possibility of a long wait time is posted, but we had to cancel our order and leave after waiting two hours and still had five orders in front of ours. We gave it a second chance, only to be shunned by an extremely rude bartender. This visit was about six months ago. We just went to try it again, and basically if you're not one of the regulars, don't expect good service from the bar staff. We ordered wings again, only this time they weren't even worth the "special" price. Never in my life have I been served wings as small as what we received. Can not recommend this place whatsoever.

Yelp
Club Garibaldi has grown on me a lot since moving to the neighborhood. It's a great place to watch a game (or election night), cheap food and drinks, and live music. Club Garibaldi turned into our 2017 Packer Playoff headquarters when our usual spot a couple blocks away became so crowded it was impossible to get a seat. This place did not let us down since they have a perfect set up for the games. High quality big screen monitor on the wall in a spacious room and a busy bar with very quick bartenders. The food is good and they have nightly specials. Club Garibaldi is known for their wings. They're not your typical fried wings. These babies are grilled and have a unique smoky flavor. Burger and fries are also good. But really, we come for the drinks, games, live shows, and overall scene.

Yelp
Wings wings and more wings! I can't say it more. If you go Wednesday prepare to wait as we often find it about an 1 1/2 wait. My boyfriend generally hates boned in wings and he begs me every week to go now and generally I'm not a huge dry rub fan but man oh man they are an exception! They have a great back area that is nice and big and they often have some good shows go through here with a nice stage. We still can't get over the Mr Deagun Jones album release show. Amazing! Sometimes I feel like on busy nights they should have more bartenders on hand because we felt forgotten about a few times but it happens! They are a great establishment here in the bay view area!
google avatar

Tony N.

Yelp
If you are looking for amazing wings Club G is the spot. With the amazing craft beer menu and the special beer of the week you can go wrong with a nice batch of wings and cheese curds. On Wednesday from 2pm-10Pm the grill stays opens and the wings and rolling. With the updated price of $.65 a wing you can go wrong with the unique flavor on the wings. The wings are Fried first and then put on the grill for the char marks. The cheese curds are also amazing the breading is light and the cheese is cheesy! The staff is also amazing and nice, I will always come back!

Cara D.

Yelp
The bald bartender refused to serve me or my husband. He wouldn't even look in our direction, but asked his regulars seated at the bar multiple times if they were doing okay, needed drinks etc. We waited for 20 min and then went down the street to Puddler's hall. Go there instead!
google avatar

Steve W.

Yelp
Club G's is a dive bar that usually has live music on weekends (and sometimes weekdays). I'll usually go there if I want to go somewhere to watch a sporting event; I wouldn't call it a sports bar, but the three big screen TVs behind the bar are enough for a casual viewing. The bartenders are generally friendly and are pretty generous with taking a drink or two off your tab if you stick around for any amount of time. I recently visited for the Sunday wings and a beer special. This place is highly touted for their wings; no choices, just one fairly spicy dry-rub style. I'm still just not getting it. They're just okay...maybe ranging into pretty good at their best. This time was no excetion. I ordered 6, they were pretty small and just super dry and salty. They do make you want to drink more beer, which is likely the idea. Regardless, I've had other food there that's solid. I used to go every Monday for the taco special. Also good pork sliders and other sandwiches. It really is an all-around great place to hang out...I'm just not a huge fan of the wings.

Marc S.

Yelp
Just such an old school winner, what's not to like. Punk muzak in the back gig room, friendly folks on a Friday night in the bar room, and plenty of cheer made for a nice WMSE event. I hadn't been to Garibaldi in a few years and it just took me and a friend back to good old days. CHARMED is what MKE bars like this do for me. Next time its wings and cocktails but any reason is a good reason to grab a seat at this local gem!
google avatar

Yelp
My friends and I have been doing a wing circuit for the past year. I had heard the wings at Club Garibaldi were one of the best wings in town. Maybe that was the case several years ago and were quite disappointed. Club Garibaldi has that townie bar feel. We walked in and it felt like everyone stopped their conversation and stared at us. If you are not a regular it is hard to get served at the bar and heaven forbid if you do not know how the ordering works. This alone made us very uncomfortable and would make me not want to come back. The bartenders were rude since we did not realize the menu was on a chalkboard behind us, they do not have menus. But we were here for the wings. It took almost an hour to get our wings, which is not unusual. Once we got the wings, we dug right in. The wings were super tiny, smaller than BW3. They tasted ok but there are much better places out there for wings. I had a burger that was super dry and lacked flavor. I would not go back, there are so many other places out there that have better wings and service.
google avatar

Cassie D.

Yelp
Visited Club Garibaldi on stop 3 on my #Birdy30 wing tour. I absolutely loved the wings. I'm a mild wing kinda girl...But, I still want a little flavor and a tiny bit of kick is good for a person. These hit the spot. Crispy, grilled, seasoned, huge. I love. Haven't been to a show here in quite a while so I'll refrain from reviewing this spot as a venue. I will say that the spacious back room is perfect for waiting it out on your wings, much like other high quality, small grill establishments-You're gonna wait an hour. But, here you'll be comfortable and surrounded with the most interesting array of people...I think these sorts of places, where you see the hipster and the old Milwaukeean, the college kid and the retired city worker, side by side enjoying a local brew, are what I truly love about Milwaukee. It's who we are as a city (Man, that was deep).
google avatar

Rachel F.

Yelp
Amazing local shows. The best chicken wings in town, unequivocally. Community-centric. Real. Neighborhood-y. Nice staff. Sports. Bay View win.
google avatar

Lawrence B.

Yelp
I sure like hot wings. And this was not my first visit for their wings and cold beer. More like fourth or fifth. So it follows I like their wings. The only problem yesterday was they seem to have gotten even smaller. their wings were never huge. You have to go to TomKens for that. Quaker wings are generally larger, but you're comparing deep fried to CG grilled. I'll take the grilled. The warm, dry heat is delicious. But yesterday they seemed even smaller than I expected. CG really should work on that. The beer was cold, the service prompt if not a little aloof. The football game was on, but suddenly the TV sound went down and some golden oldie 20th century stuff came on. Would rather have heard the game. Just an A-OK
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
The space for small shows is good for small events, but very under decorated or equipped. Also pretty cold in winter days, with shabby chairs. Not the kind of place I would typically choose to go to if it weren't for the artist playing there.
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
Great place! Typical Wisconsin bar :) TVs everywhere and a fun place to watch a game! Great draft beer selection - about 10 to choose from. Had a burger - it was good. Heard they have amazing wings. I'd definitely go back!
google avatar

Renee K.

Yelp
Not sure what a dive bar is but I think this might be one. The wings were divine and the place was fun.
google avatar

Rucha N.

Yelp
I came here for the first time last week to try their wings and had a Bloody Mary with it. The Bloody Mary was decent, but I was pretty disappointed with their wings. They were completely charred which took away from a lot of the taste of the actual wings since I could only taste the burnt pieces. Not sure if it is intentional? But not what I was expecting.

Yelp
Wow , travelled a long distance to see an awesome band and they did a last minute cancel. Some of the musicians were not 21 ... umm never heard that in Nashville or Chicago or other Milwaukee venues for that matter. Bummer for younger excellent talent. You'd this establishment would have figured this out before they booked it. Poor communication.

Yelp
5 stars for the wings. 2 stars for the bloody marys. If you are looking for great wings this is your place. If you are looking for a great bloody mary keep on moving. Zing Zang out the bottle with lemon lime and olives. Definitely will be back for the wings.

Yelp
Love club G. Food is good. Patrons are friendly Bar tenders are surly. What more can you want from a corner tap? Live shows are here and you can see the guitar made on Milwaukee Blacksmith. Go here and tell them Brook sent ya!

Yelp
1 hour wait turned in to 3 hours and counting... dude was unapologetic...I had been here 20+ times and it was never this lousy Finally got the wings at one point and it was the worse batch ever served by the crew here. This is my first Yelp review and for a reason. I cannot believe how terrible of an experience this resulted in. Waste of time. Waste of money.

Yelp
After hearing MUCH hype about the wings here we decided to check it out. And the experience could not have been more underwhelming. No wait service at tables and very unfriendly bartenders started the night off on a sour note. And medium wings that were so hot that we could not finish them did not live up to the best wings in town cry we had heard so often. Will not be back and do not recommend for wings. Johnny Hammers and Sobelman's both have MUCH better wings and service!

Yelp
My last visit to Club Garibaldi was in 2008 (Drams, Glossary, Two Cow Garage, Grand Champeen) and I think this was right when they started doing more bands. Back then the sound was crap, the room was not laid out well for bands, the sound guy was basically set up on a table off to the side... Well, the Supersuckers lured me back and I was completely impressed by the upgrades in the back. They have made wood covers for the pool tables to close them down while bands play. They have added a proper sound booth in the back corner opposite the stage, and they have mounted the mains to the ceiling. Down side is that all the tables from the back are basically stacked up in a corner which eats up space. The bands also stack all their gear off in that same corner... I get it, but it is kind of lame. People were setting beers on amps and drums and that ain'ta too cool. They had bock beer for $2/bottle and the bartender gave me (the designated driver) free sodas through the night. I saw three bands, and they all sounded great. Posted some videos from the show here: www.youtube.com/jimdier Would definitely go back.

Yelp
Writing from a musician's standpoint Club Garibaldi is one of the best places to play in Milwaukee. The stage is well configured with plugs galore, an excellent light setup, and even a smoke machine. It has plenty of room and all you need to bring is your amp/guitar or drumkit. The sound guy, Chris Lehmann, is a master at his art and WILL make your band sound the best it can. While he's known to be a love 'em or hate 'em kind of guy to a lot of musicians, he knows his shit and will tell you like it is. I have a lot of respect for him as a musician and a craftsman. He built the entire stage/sound booth by himself. I've seen him set up everything from standard 3-piece rock sets to a 8 or 9 piece fusion type band and he works his ass off every time. If you've ever been to Chill on the Hill he also does the sound there. So if you're want to get into the REAL music scene, screw The Rave...visit Club G's. Oh and not to mention, the bartenders will get you hammered.
