First, let's get this out of the way - the fried chicken is not as good as Heaven Sent, the restaurant this replaced. That said, this place is still recommendable.
Ordered:
1) 2 piece, thigh and drumstick, spicy. Thigh was very good. A bit small but juicy, lots of crunch. Spicy version was truly spicy. Took me by surprise but enjoyed it. Drumstick was overcooked and dry. 5/10.
2) chicken sandwich. Chicken breast was large, and was juicy and tender enough, but not remarkably so. Chicken had more of a breaded texture rather than fried. Sandwich massively helped out by the slaw and pickles, which I think way more of would have helped. 7.5/10
3) chicken wings, garlic teriyaki. Sauce was put in a cup on the side which I'm thankful for because it was truly awful. The chicken wings themselves were meaty, perfectly crunchy, and would have been 9/10 if they were seasoned a little bit more. As they were, these were 3/10, massively brought down by the garlic teriyaki sauce. Will try with different sauce in the future.
Overall, 6/10 experience. Will return to try more things. Service was friendly and welcoming, ambience much improved over Heaven Sent. Glad to still have fried chicken in the neighborhood.
