CM Chicken

My first night in NY, around the corner to my hotel CM Chicken was the BEST decision! Although the wait was 15 minutes, it is very much worth it. The chicken is perfectly crispy, sauce I chose was the garlic spicy. The white meat was just as juicy as dark meat, which is always satisfying. The French fries were my next favorite thing from my order. The fries were perfectly crispy & seasoned well. The peach and mango drinks were good. I even went back the next day for the French fries & they loaded the basket up! Super satisfied with this choice of food.

I recently found this hidden gem and absolutely love their juicy, tender, and perfectly crisp fried chicken. The mango bingsu is so amazing that I don’t even need to go downtown for a great Korean dessert (just a heads up, you can’t order it on Uber Eats—I discovered it when I went to pick up). I ended up ordering way more than my husband and I could handle! It’s now my favorite fried chicken spot on the UES. Great food at a good price!

This location has been here only about seven months and today is August 11, 2024. This is a chain and there are a few in New Jersey as well. It’s nice to have something for Korean fried chicken as well as shaved ice with mango or chocolate flavors in this upper East side residential area on 91st Street and 1st Avenue in Manhattan. For $10.50 you can get a mango shaped ice with mango pieces, shaved ice, ice cream with mango inside and some cake pieces mixed in. It’s very refreshing for summer. There is indoor seating. No outdoor seating. The owner is very nice and sweet. And Korean fried chicken is very light and crispy on the outside so it is a very enjoyable taste and not too heavy.

Some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life. I mean that with my whole heart. The truffle fries were legitimately the best fries I’ve EVER TASTED. Perfectly seasoned waffle fries that were crisp, the dipping sauce was mouthwatering, and I’m coming back asap to get more. The fried chicken was just unbelievable. An explosion of flavor in my mouth. Bigger than any war bombing. It was outstanding.

The best Korean fried chicken I've had. The red hot pepper sauce is very delicious. The tikkudak is a delicious combination of fried and then charred that I have not had before, but will definitely come back for. Very crispy and moist. I was lucky to be able to dine in since they only have one table.

Get the tikkudak! Amazing. Fried chicken w grilled smoky flavor. The original chicken was also good and crunchy w moist interior. Even though the food was delivered a little later than the estimated time it was still hot and delicious and the onion rings were still crispy! So glad we tried this and we will def have it again the future. Welcome to the neighborhood, CM!

I picked up and enjoyed it in New Year’s eve. People who worked here were very friendly and nice. I ordered snow onion chicken and garlic soy tikkudak and both were so delicious. As seasonings were not very spicy, my children ate very well. It was the best chicken I've ever tried in NY.

I am so glad I got to try the amazing Red Hot Pepper Tikkudak and my Favorite of all Curry Tikkudak. Truly the best fried chicken in the neighborhood. So it is saddening that they have had to close down this location. CM will be missed a great deal. Guess I will have to venture to the next closest location because their chicken truly is 마루.

Honestly this place ended up being really really good! The Korean fried chicken wings themselves were really really well cooked and the breading was nice. The onions with the chicken were shaved perfect. The hot sauce and peanut sauce added a little extra to each bite. And the pickled daikon itself was really good with a sweet note. The hotteok was SOOOO GOOD! Owner was really nice! Such a unique experience here! Please try it out!

Wavering between 3 and 4 stars. The staff is friendly and this is mostly a take out operation. There is one table that can probably squeeze in four people. We got the whole chicken garlic soy tikkudak. This was a great value. It was a lot of chicken. The flavor was great. It is not as crunchy as I thought it would be. Some of the breast pieces were a little dry, but overall very tasty. I also got some french fries as a side. The french fries were frozen from a bag, so not much to rave about. They were not particularly good or bad. Compared to chicken inside, this one definitely has a better value. The fries at Chicken Insider are much better.

Per the owner's recommendation (who is very nice) I tried the chicken tikkudak with side of rice. It was good and I was able to stretch it out into 3 meals. Very generous portions! I have tried many Korean fried chicken spots including bon chon and pelicana and this might beat them all as of now. The chicken is torched which is a nice touch. Small place so don't expect to eat there unless you get that one table. Seems clean overall. I'll definitely be back!

Order for Takeout. Been walking buy for a long time an never popped in. Decided to do a takeout of Red Hot Pepper Tikkudak Tenders 5 piece & and Original Garlic Soy Tenders. Jesus H Christ! Best chicken I have had in years. I had no idea it was this good. I walked it back 3 blocks to my house in the cold, the cook left the box crackjed open so it didn't get mushy (pro move). They say 5 peience but io was more like 8. A single or der is plenty for 1 person. Reheated the next day in the oven and they were even better. Love the smoke on the Tikkudak - great spice too! Will be back!

This is mostly a takeout joint but they have one small table inside that fits 4 people. Fried chicken was good. Had the garlic soy wings and the red hot pepper drums. Garlic soy wings were good and came in five pieces per order. The red hot pepper drums came in 2 large pieces. It was spicy but not the most spiciest thing I've eaten. Also ordered hotteok and their take on it had the texture of scallion pancake with sweet stuff in the middle. This was actually quite good. The price reflects the taste.

The place opened a little over a year ago and the food is actually very good mostly to go, but you need to really warm it up in an air fryer or toaster oven but the food is fresh and delicious. The owners are very nice and it's really authentic if you have it the right way I like it very crispy. The rice is good very fresh and it's not greasy.

What a much needed addition the the UES. There really aren't any good korean fried chicken places up here let alone korean food in general (but for some reason oversaturated with Thai). No only is this place my favorite KFC in UES, it currently takes my place for best KFC ever! More locations need to open up in the city as it can easily compete with the other franchises. The chicken is extra juicy. I got the tidduck spicy chicken, the crunch/breading was awesome and chicken so moist. The spicy level is actually pretty spicy :) I live around the corner and can't wait to go pick up some of the other interesting chicken types like the snow chicken and green onion. Can't stop thinking about the chicken!

Let me say that me and my kids are Korean fried chicken lovers and have tried them all!! We were so excited that a KFC spot was opening across the street from us!! We ordered original 10 chicken wings and the owner gave my kids a yogurt drink as we waited. The chicken is made to order so it's a tiny wait. It's so crunchy and juicy a bit pricey but so worth it! We will be weekly costumers

I've stopped by a few times now, and each time has been a pleasant experience. The last time I ordered the new seasonal chocolate bingsu (Korean shaved ice) along with the soy garlic chicken. They were kind enough to tell me how long I needed to wait and that they would make the shaved ice last so it wouldn't melt. Both the husband and wife, whom I've met on different days, are both very nice. It's not very large inside, though there's still enough room where someone could sit and eat, but this place is more suited to takeout. It's a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

This is a small take out place on the upper east side of Manhattan. There is one or two small tables. They have authentic Korean fried chicken that is perfectly cooked. The chicken is cooked to order. You don't get chicken that has been sitting around under lights. It is so good!I live in Massachusetts and I intend to get chicken here whenever I'm in the New York City area.

SO GOOD. Chicken is super juicy and I love the cheese balls with the spicy rice cakes. So glad this opened in the neighborhood and I will 100% be back.

As someone who's tried Korean fried chicken from many different places and has pretty high standards, I can confidently say this place is hands down the best I've ever had. The original fried chicken is authentically Korean, with the perfect balance of crispiness and flavor. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a true Korean fried chicken experience. They also have a special menu item called Tikkudak, which comes with a smoky flavor that's unique and delicious. While I enjoyed it, my personal favorite is still the original chicken, which feels closer to the classic Korean style. On top of that, the portions are super generous, and you'll definitely leave full and satisfied. The owner lady is incredibly kind and really pays attention to the details, which just adds to the overall great experience. Highly, highly recommend this spot. You won't be disappointed.

Totally recommend! Incredible and unique fried chicken. We had the snow onion original (delicious white savory/sweet sauce with mild onions on top) and their signature tikkudak chicken (fried and then grilled over charcoal, giving it a nice smokey taste). During the couple (well-worth) minutes that we waited for our take-out order, we were very entertained by the super nice lady that works at the register (wish I got her name!). She was telling us all about the history of CM Chicken and food trends in Korea. She even treated us to a yummy small yogurt drink brand from Korea while we waited and listened to K-pop. Excellent service paired with excellent fried chicken, must try!!!

Went here because of proximity to my hotel. Got the 5 piece garlic soy tikkudak and a side of fries. Delicious combo of sweet and hot with perfectly cooked chicken (I did the tenders). For those concerned about cost, you can easily share one five piece order between two people. I can barely eat half of it. They don't skimp on portions

Chicken wings are great. Chicken sandwiches are great service by the owner is personable. She really makes sure you're comfortable and want you to come back again but the food makes you come back again.

This place reminds me of the Korean fried chicken during my college days in the Bay Area. Crunch flavorful, really hits the spot.

Absolutely not! Where do I start? The "wings" are insanely huge, to the point they make you wonder if it's real chicken. Like don't get me wrong, I'm all for a "jumbo" wing, but these are ridiculous. Secondly, the price. $28 for a 10 pc is a lot, inflation or not. Lastly, the wings aren't good. Maybe it's the Haitian in me, but you can tell they don't wash their chicken. Smells and taste foul, no pun intended. Anyway, wanted to like it, but it just didn't cut it for me. $150 down the drain on chicken for me and the fam.

This place is SO delicious and family run. Everyone is so nice and humble. It may cost a few bucks more, but the tikkudak is such a cool and unique experience that adds a great smokey flavor to the KFC. Not much seating (like two chairs), so more of a takeout joint. Definitely worth the price, as the higher quality is noticeable and you still get a ton of food. Would definitely recommend supporting this small business!

Nice to see a new Korean fried chicken spot in the upper east side. Great spot, mostly a takeout location but their wings were fire. Especially the soy garlic tikkudak - crispy but moist with their marinade at the same time. Owners a really nice, a must try even if you don't live here

As I was walking home from shopping, I realized I was too tired to cook so I looked around. When I saw a new place I decided to go in and take out from this bright orange decorated store... It turns out that (once I left) I realized the owners were so welcoming and helpful with my order (that perfectly matched my tastes), I experienced a nice pre holiday spirit lift: A truly kind couple who were interested in ensuring I enjoyed my take out meal... Even though I knew I was purchasing 2 different orders (so I could try some the wings and drumsticks and freeze the rest), I was surprised to see how good the price and value was . The portions were so large that I had to squeeze the leftovers into my freezer... The sauce is amazing and frankly, I may not wait to finish the frozen leftovers. Next time, I'm planning on trying the cheese chicken and brining it to my friends for New Years Eve... This new find makes me want to order over, and over and over again!

Delicious, crispy fried chicken! We got the original garlic soy and spicy garlic. Service was quick, the food was fresh and piping hot. There's a nice range of flavors and styles to choose from. Great place to satisfy your Korean fried chicken craving.

Got the original snow and tikkudak soy garlic and both were delicious! The tikkudak is fried then charcoal grilled, a clear differentiator from typical Korean fried chicken (KFC). My new go-to when I'm craving KFC, so glad it came to the UES!!!

I had no idea a CM Chicken just opened in the city. Really excited to have a good option on the UES instead of having to go to travel to find Korean fried chicken. Their prices are affordable and they have lunch specials! I love the cheese monster and garlic soy. Staff are super friendly. Will definitely be back.

Once you step in the atmosphere is very inviting. To the food to the customer service everything is exquisite. The owners are very caring and accommodating regarding your needs and is one of the best customer experiences I had in awhile. They also serve some of the best Korean fried chicken in the city, and I'll definitely be back to try their calamari later. You guys definitely need to check this place out.

At first, I was hesitant to try CM chicken because I thought the prices were high. I am happy I decided to try it out and support this place because the food is FANTASTIC. I've gone twice and the snow onion chicken is delicious. Seems like it's a mom and pop type shop so I will continue to support. Highly recommend.

The food was delicious and the staff were exceptionally nice! They gave me a free drumstick for Valentine's Day and even wrote me a kind note on the to-go box!

the food was very tasty , i'm not gonna lie .. they gave me some big ass drum sticks but they were soooo good ! the owner is so nice & explained everything we asked about the menu really well. not bad for a new restaurant , deff wishing the business some success !

This is the best chicken I have had in along time. It's crunchy, well cooked and tender and juicy on the inside. The French fries are a must and the customer service was excellent. Will definitely make this a regular go to for chicken. The onion chicken is a definitely staying on my menu.
