My wife and I visited CO-OP Restaurant & Bar at 20 S 33rd St in Philadelphia for Valentine’s Day, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The food was outstanding. The cast-iron skillet dish with roasted potatoes, fried eggs and fresh peppers was flavorful and short ribs perfectly prepared. The scrambled eggs were light, fluffy, and seasoned just right. The turkey sausage was wonderful. We also ordered the pancakes, which were thick, soft, and served with a generous butter and syrup a perfect balance of sweetness without being overwhelming. Beyond the food, the atmosphere made the experience even better. The setting felt warm, relaxed, and welcoming ideal for a date. It had an upscale feel without being pretentious. Service was attentive and professional. CO-OP delivered on quality, presentation, and overall dining experience. If you’re looking for a great brunch spot in University City, this is definitely worth a visit. We’ll absolutely be returning.

So this was a cute restaurant. Popped up on vday they were packed and not taking walk ins. So be sure to get there early or make a reservation. We sat at the bar and had a great time! The monkey bread was interesting & delicious! I didn't do much enjoy my dish however Nicole noticed and asked for my genuine opinion and with out hesitation she assisted and took the feedback! The service was outstanding and you can tell she cared about my opinion and welcomed us to come back again! I will be back to retry my dish in a couple months!

this is my new favorite brunch spot in philly ! i originally tried going when i first landed but i missed the time by ten minutes. however the hostess was very kind and encouraged us to come back. i made a reservation this time and invited some friends. when we showed up the hostess remembered us and was very kind and welcoming. a few minutes after she seated us she brought over a SWEETS BOARD and thanked us for coming back and said the board was on the house ! :) it was super delicious and my friends and i enjoyed it very much. it was a great atmosphere, great service, and the food was amazing. like i said it has become my favorite brunch spot and i will definitely be back again !

My Mama and I enjoyed our time here at Co-Op Study. Our server Craig was very personable and friendly. He made our experience fun and special. Plus, the food was delicious. Be sure to order the biscuits and pancakes. You won't regret it! Whenever I'm in Philly again, I will be returning.

Make server kinda rush us the whole time but Hannah was very nice and helpful, most of the time we use other ppl as our server. Food lack seasoning badly and its over priced. Best latte I ever had that was the only good thing

Perfect birthday breakfast. Cozy atmosphere, amazing food, and one of the best starts to our day. First time visiting, and we chose CO-OP Restaurant & Bar as our first stop to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday, and everything was a solid 10 out of 10 from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was cozy, warm, and peaceful. The space felt clean, welcoming, and relaxed, which made it the perfect setting to start a special day. The staff was friendly, professional, and attentive without being overwhelming, and the service was smooth and timely throughout our visit. We decided to enjoy a little breakfast feast, and every item was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. We started with freshly squeezed orange juice and grapefruit juice, which were both refreshing and a great way to begin the meal. The house-made buttermilk pancake was served in a small skillet and was the perfect size, light, and delicious. We also had the house-made buttermilk biscuits with honey butter and jam, which were outstanding. Alongside that, we ordered a side of avocado, French toast, and an omelet filled with mushrooms, spinach, and cheese. Everything was delightful, well balanced, and clearly made with care and quality ingredients. What really stood out was the overall experience. Great food, excellent service, and a comfortable upscale vibe that made the morning feel special without being rushed. If you are looking for a great spot for breakfast or brunch, whether it is for a special occasion or simply a quality start to your day, I highly recommend CO-OP Restaurant & Bar. This was our first visit, and it definitely will not be our last.

Very nice and cozy restaurant, we ate there two days in a row during our stay at the study at university hotel. Delicious and high quality food. Good value for money!

Poor service and mediocre food. Nearly 20% gratuity was automatically included, yet I didn’t receive a single water refill or any attention from the staff. My initial order took almost 30 minutes to arrive — and when it finally did, it was the wrong bagel and missing cream cheese. The rest of the food was average at best; the pancakes were the only thing that stood out. Overall, I would not return or recommend this place.

Unfortunately, had a tough experience here over the weekend. To start with a positive - the ambience is really pretty and there's both indoor and outdoor eating opportunities. My friend got the Dutch baby and the blueberry compote and clotted cream were really tasty. The Dutch baby was good, but felt thicker and more dense than they usually are. My veggie toast was quite good, though different than described on the menu. I walked in and was seated right away, and they came to check on my coffee order even before my dining companions joined. The coffees, both hot and iced, were pretty decent. One of my friends wanted to get some syrup and hers and our server didn't know which ones were available and even after checking was a little bit off. Then asked for recommendations for some starters we were thinking of, and our server didn't know the descriptions of some of them. But it was once we finally decided what to order that it really went downhill. My veggie toast & my friend's Dutch baby came out at close times but my friend's fried chicken sandwich took way longer. They brought out some pastries to help which was nice, but when the sandwich finally did come out my friend took one bite and it was uncooked inside. When we told the server, he said it had happened to someone else too!!! They did comp our bill, which was a nice move, but I wouldn't recommend this place to others.

We very much enjoyed our dinner here. I enjoyed the filet mignon which was cooked perfectly. There was a decent wine selection as well which we took advantage of. Server was attentive although didn't know too much about the wine, however the bartender was able to assist. Would return for the delicious steak.

Nice interior and ambiance. They had a full bar and I loved that they opened the doors to the outside during the day. I went for a work dinner and we got attentive service when we went. The apps were small but delicious. I also got the linguine with clam sauce and the serving was a good size but it was sweet. I've never had this dish be sweet before so it was a bit odd. Would recommend for a meal to anyone in the area.

This is my go to happy hour place. The food is usually pretty consistent and the drinks are quite good. I often get the shishito peppers or whipped ricotta. The servings are hardy so definitely good shareable options. The happy hour menu changes, but when they're on there, the wings and fries are really good. The sauces that come with the dishes really elevate the dishes. Service can be a tad slow sometimes so you may want to order two drinks at once...lol.

Steve is an amazing bartender! A mixologist to the core. He shared what he was "working on" - Roasted Collins and Ringer!. So smooth; incredible mouth feel. Whether you like vodka or bourbon. Check it out!

Mushroom omelette - a bit bland but good portion Egg Benedict - good temperature and runny eggs. Potatoes are ok. Went during brunch on Saturday. The place was pretty empty so that was good.

Wonderful warm atmosphere on the corner of a busy street. Had breakfast with a friend and ordered the Lancaster omelette. Excellent food and pleasant staff.

Had a great time visiting the Co-Op for their National Beer Day collaboration event with Two Locals Brewing Company. This spot is connected to the The Study which is a great hotel for parents visiting UPenn to see their kids. Food was pretty good. Went with Rooster's Crown Pasta and an order of hush puppies. Creamy, hearty, and flavorful. I specifically came for the Two Locals collaboration. The first Black owned brewery in Philadelphia. Their Nubian Ale is delicious! Staff was excellent. We spent a ton of time chatting with the bar staff and getting the background of the Co-Op. there are some awesome folks working here.

We went here as a big group (~20 people). We had food that was OK. My chicken was undercooked, but in general OK. When we were paying they charged us 20% gratitude as is normal for group. In addition they charged us (automatically) another 20% as gratitude. So without asking they charged us 40% gratitude. After a lot of struggle half of it came off. They claim it was an error with the cash register. I cannot recommend places that try to charge you 20% extra without explanation and when call on it put up a major struggle. They are crooks

Huge portions! Great service! Just a little dark but it's part of the ambiance. Overall a great time!

Ate more than once here and food just wasn't good. And when they delivered food to room, order was wrong and poor guy had to run back down to get my latte. What arrived was big bottle of water. A second time they forgot one of my dishes.

Beautiful space. I was staying at the attached hotel the Study and we didn't want to leave for dinner. Friendly service meh food. The best item was the smoked wings. The grits with the short ribs were soupy and the cavatelli was overcooked topped with bland sauce. The one time I wish I wasn't on a date so I could have taken pictures. Steve and Gina provide excellent recommendations and service at the bar. The bass and mussels are delicious. We can't wait to try other dishes.

The menu described their Lancaster omelette and referenced being mushroom capital of the country. It had a sparse smattering of basic white mushrooms. Five of us ordered the omelette and two of them came out with toast. When we asked why the others did not come with toast they explained that the omelette did not come with toast despite the fact that two were sitting there right in front of us with some. The party member that ordered the chicken sandwich didn't bother eating more than half.

I have eaten here a few times now, and have yet to be disappointed. The Co-op cocktail is one of my favorites, but they also have a really great wine selection. I have yet to have anything that wasn't delicious, and I appreciate that they focus on seasonal items. They even do amazing things with simple vegetables, such as the Heirloom carrot plate with whipped farmers cheese, smoked honey, and chili crunch. The linguine with clams is a mainstay, and I highly recommend it.

I can't Thank this place enough first off we stayed at the Study for my Husband's surgery. I have been back and forth from Penn and It was my first time at CO-OP! I Sat at the Bar and I had two of the most Adorable Bartenders in the world Steve and Gina! These two kept my spirits up :) They both have the best personalities making me laugh and the interaction with them is one I will never forget! I Loved Andrea one of the managers she was so gracious. THE FOOD IS AMAZING and just Delicious. I will be back in the next few weeks for my Husband's check up and will be looking forward to introducing my husband to my two new favorite Bartenders! The place gave me the feel of a culinary school. The dishes are creative and tasty. I could not stay for dessert, unfortunately. I will probably return later for that. I heard the desserts are worth returning for. The food certainly is!

Went in for an early dinner and wanted to try something new. Overall it was just okay. The decor was very nice and my server was very kind, but she seemed to be serving the entire floor. I ordered the Rooster's Crown pasta and it tasted like an upscale hamburger helper. I like hamburger helper but I could've made it for significantly less money at home. Wasn't the worst thing I've had but it wasn't worth it in my opinion, probably wouldn't go back.

I went on a Saturday evening, and the bartenders were attentive and pleasant. The aesthetic in there is extremely nice beautiful and clean. The food was OK, but I only had a couple of things so I can't really make a complete review on that topic.

Steve at the bar makes one of the finest gimlets around! Service is great as is the ambience.

visited for center city restaurant week 2021... was not impressed. Table service as expected, polite, continuous water refilling, exc. Lots of space and very clean. However - the phones do not work. We called multiple times to attempt to make a reservation and even called while in the restaurant to see and there simply is not a phone for the hostess stand. Food was absolutely nothing special and not worth the $40 price of an app, main course, and dessert. To start with, they were out of stock of half of the menu items. Was not a fan of the bland crudite platter and the soup was much too summery for fall. Main course was a poorly cooked chicken breast sandwhich that I might as well have gotten at chik fil a. Also disappointed in dessert- cookies weren't even easy to chew. Doubt I will be back.

Perhaps the worst breakfast and overall dining experience I have experienced in the city of Philadelphia in a very long time. Rude service, sticky table and floor. Overall the place needs a good cleaning and training of both staff and management. There is not many breakfast spots near their location but try to go elsewhere.... You have been warned.

Went for brunch. They were out of a number of staples (bacon, rye bread, orange juice, etc), and what they did serve us was bland; mediocre bagel, potatoes not crispy, eggs fried way too hard, etc. The biscuits were pretty decent.

Stayed at The study and tried this place for breakfast. Bagel was chewy, potatoes were dense. Food was lousy. Service was ok, but they add 20% gratuity (wife, me and 6 year old) so service was lacking since they were guaranteed a tip. Two breakfasts, one juice and the included tip cost $43 for breakfast.

When you have a student attending Drexel the co-op means more than dinner. Located off the lobby of the The Study Hotel . A Very nice restaurant upper level in pricing. We started with wine from their menu. They were out of my first choice with no replacement. Asked about the special and again they were sold out. Asked about several dishes that others had bragged about on yelp. Again sorry not available. Decided to try the smoked wings yo start. As smoked wings go they were very good. For dinner we went with the cauliflower, the lamb and the pork chop. The cauliflower was a very nice vegan dish I would order it again. The pork chop was cooked perfect. The lamb had an overpowering spice that made it difficult to finish. I would not Recommend the lamb. Our server was excellent. The deserts were very good. .

Had been hearing of the classy, tasty spot Co-Op in University City and had never gone out that way. Finally made a trip and boy am I glad I did. Ambiance - the place radiates good vibes. It's bright, airy, clean, and new looking. Decor is spot on and you instantly feel welcome and cozy. It's also attached to 'The Study' which is adorable. Service- top notch. Our server was friendly, attentive, and super knowledgeable about the menu. She was happy to make recommendations, all of which were stellar. Drinks- super sophisticated drink menu with some awesome, inventive cocktails. Def a good place to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. Food- everything we had was absolutely top notch. The scallop ceviche was unreal- so fresh and bursting with flavor. The bread with warm ricotta tastes how a hug feels. The gnocchi are some of the best I've had - so big and fluffy, and the mojo shrimp was absolutely to die for. Loved the cauliflower dukkah (awesome vegan choice), and every dessert was amazing - definitely try the key lime pie, the tres leches cake, and/or the blueberry pie- YUM! Overall excellent experience that I'd highly recommend!

I found, at Co-op, not only an exceptional hotel-adjacent restaurant (rare!) but a truly original pasta dish worth writing about. The rooster pasta with pepperoni bolognese was a delightful surprise. While one might think pepperoni would be too salty or overpowering, in this preparation, it added a wonderful flavor and texture that I'd struggle to replicate at home. I highly recommend this pasta. Before that magical main, my responsive server was happy to provide a half size portion of the kale salad, which was quite good as well. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the service was attentive and pleasant. Coupled with the warmth of the adjacent hotel lobby, this is a place that beckons me to return.

Physically the space is lovely, so if you are eating atmosphere, this may be a good choice. If, on the other hand, you were planning on eating food you would be wise to look elsewhere. On the entire menu there are 6 entree choices. 1 fish, 1 veg, 1 poultry, 1 burger, one pasta, and a steak. Do not turn the menu over to find other choices - there are none. The dinners next to us had a very small piece of over cooked salmon and an equally dried out quartered chicken - so those were out. We both ordered rare burgers. The waiter hesitated and explained that their burgers are served medium-well. Why? I assume that they are pre-cooked and the "cook" is simply reheating them. Oh well, as I am not a person who is satisfied with cauliflower as dinner, we went with the burger. The burger arrive served so overcooked that it actually made audible crunching sounds when it encountered the fork.

Came here last week for Brunch to celebrate the end of the semester with a large group of people (17 total) and it was lovely. The server was wonderful and so accommodating; she constantly checked up on us and made sure that we had our food, drinks, etc. We ended up staying a bit longer than expected, but the restaurant was completely fine with it. The space itself is so lovely and bright, and a great place to get work done if needed. The food is admittedly on the more expensive end, but worth it for the amount they serve. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with salmon and my friend ordered the Smoked Salmon Bagel, both of which are classic Brunch dishes. They put a good amount of salmon in the dishes, to a point where it gets a little overwhelming. Regardless, both were very good and we were stuffed by the end of Brunch. This is a place that I would definitely go to again.

Beautiful, airy space and friendly service but food was .... not good. Avocado toast is $17 and basically bad guacamole spread on toast. Well undercooked egg (watery whites...). Hard, flavorless "home fries" which are just fried potato cubes. NOTHING and I mean nothing was seasoned, even with just salt. From other reviews, it looks like everything is as poorly executed as my breakfast.

Had breakfast here before heading into a meeting. We had the avocado toast. It was very tasty, had a seasoning which pushed it over the top. Also had the pancakes which were really good. Coffee was good which is probably the most difficult thing for breakfast. 4-stars for food but wouldn't give 4-stars for service. It was just okay.

I'm still sitting here right next to the open doors. Cool breeze. Beautiful 82degrees. This is a fantastic experience! The food was good the service was great. I got the salmon Benedict and she got fried green tomatoes. We shared a Açaí bowl. The coffee was weak illy brand and the side potatoes were pretty greasy. I like mine crispy. In their defense I did not ask for them crispy and very well could've. The main parts of the meal were really good though. Not super salty like most places. The Açaí bowl had chunks of ice in it. I could've made it in our home blender. Also no wait for brunch on a Saturday? You can't do that in Fishtown. It's just not possible. So the most impressive thing about this place was the open air seating. Would I come back? Absolutely. If someone else suggested it. It would not be my first suggestion unless I was within a mile and didn't want to wait in a line.

We liked it so much we forgot to take a pic until we were almost done! (See below.) This was our second time at Co-Op. Last time, we were guests at the hotel. This time, we sought it as a destination dinner. That should say something right there! There are only a handful of contemporary, upscale restaurants near Penn's campus. I prefer this hotel to the Inn at Penn, although Co-Op might not size up perfectly to Louie Louie. Both are very good, though the edge might go to Louie Louie. Draft beer menu is brief but good selection by the bottle. Some inventive cocktails that don't break the bank. Fried calamari has a lot of red peppers, which I always like in the moment. (Not so much later!). Beet salad with citrus was well received, as was the scallop entree. Brussel sprouts app good, but I have had better. Hard to take issue with much. Perhaps best of all, plenty of seating. Worst case scenario, keep it on a short list for last-minute ideas.

I've walked past Co-Op many many times but finally went in for a meal last week. I was blown away by the interior design - very chic, sophisticated - and it made me really excited to eat there. There are garage-esque doors that they open if the weather is good outside (which it was the day I went) but we opted for a more interior table with air conditioning. One thing that caught me off guard was the small menu, I had taken a look at the menu before going and remember being excited for all the variety; however, once I got there, it seemed like only a handful of items I felt like eating. I went into my lunch thinking I was going to get a salad (5 out of their entree-sized dishes were salads and seemed to be quite their specialty) but decided to opt for their Green Circle Chicken Sandwich - It. Was. So. GOOD! Maybe I had low expectations but not only could you tell the ingredients were fresh, the Avocado Green Goddess was phenomenal. I didn't really know what it was but it was basically a parsley avocado spread they smear on your soft sesame bread bun that enhances the flavor like no other. My mom got the market fish which was a salmon plate (nothing special in my opinion), my dad got the shrimp toast (kind of small for his liking) and my sister got the cured smoked salmon tartine. In my opinion, I definitely got the best entree - and it also happened to be the cheapest. I left Co-Op feeling full, satisfied, happy and healthy. The burger was satiating without the excessive fried oily feelingn after most burgers. Plus, I felt super sophisticated eating in the restaurant due to its amazing interior design. Pro Tip: visit the bathroom to check out the super cool hotel Co-Op is attached to (called The Study). Great place to bring family when they're in town!

--------Updates------------ I had brunch here today and was underwhelmed. CO-OP's brunch is at best mediocre yet overpriced. Therefore, I take off one star from my previous review of my dinner experience. We ordered CO-OP salad (adding half of an avocado for extra $3) and Spanish omelet. I know CO-OP aims to be high-end, but their brunch is only high-end in terms of pricing. The dishes have little visual presentation (see my photos), which is below my expectation. They have small portion size, I was okay with it but my partner was not full. The salad is light (which I like) but very boring with limited ingredients, you can get much better salads from sweetgreen for less than $10. The omelet is decent according to my partner. Drinks are pricy, so we end up with a check of $40+ before tax for a mediocre brunch. With all the great breakfast/brunch choices in the city, their breakfast/brunch just doesn't stand out. However, I do recommend their dinner (see my review below). --------Dinner Review-------- It was a delight to dine at CO-OP, a newly opened upscale restaurant literally on Drexel University campus. My partner and I came here around 6 pm on Tuesday (6/6/2017) for a celebration dinner and there were only a few tables of customers. It seems no reservation needed (for now), but the place was filled up to 60% as we enjoyed our dinner. We shared the Spanish Rock Octopus (with buttermilk grits, chorizo, and fennels) as our appetizer. It was a lovely savory bowl -- chewy octopus, thin-sliced chorizo, and creamy grits -- that nicely started our meal. For the main course, I had Mahi-Mahi (with white asparagus and couscous) and my partner had Crab Fettuccini (with asparagus, mushrooms, and basil pesto). The fish that I had was slightly salty (I prefer low-sodium diet), but the asparagus and couscous were perfectly cooked and the dish was decorated with roes. I tried the pasta that my partner ordered, it tasted great, though the shape of fettuccini was different from regular fettuccini. Overall, CO-OP offers decent dinner dishes with beautiful visual presentations, a must for an upscale place. Service is above average but seems slightly understaffed (for now). The price for a light dinner is around $40/person, which is fairly pricy in University City. I haven't tried the breakfast/brunch here but are willing to try. I will only consider this place for special occasions.

While attending a conference at the Study, we decided to have a few drinks at the Co-Op after the event. Being a Drexel Co-op myself, I was quite a fan of the name. We started with a local bourbon neat and finished off with an old fashioned. Can you really mess up pouring just bourbon into an empty glass though? I really enjoyed bar life here. It was a nice day in the city and some window/doors were open. I spent some time chatting with other people staying at the hotel, along with my account manager. The bartenders were friendly, especially Miranda, who provided great service and was pleasant to speak to. When will I ever be back to this place? As a Drexel Alum, I'm not on campus anymore at all, but I'll be back if we have another conference here.

The burger was not even close to being good, dry overcooked and a lame piece of lettuce. Also ordered the bread pudding and it came out with no ice cream. That thing was so dry it was uneatable. Fortunately the bill was being covered as part of a business meeting, however, the group did tell the partners not to return to this place.

Excellent fresh salad and burger. One of the best I've had in awhile. Service was great.

Nice outdoor area and a decent menu. Terrible service, smallish portions, and uncomfortable patio chairs. I can't decide if I loved or hated their unique wedge salad, it tasted like it was dressed with sriracha ranch rather than the advertised buttermilk ranch, so it had an unfamiliar kick to it, not expected in a salad, nonetheless I mostly enjoyed it. More tomatoes would have balanced it better and been a refreshing answer to the spiciness of the dressing. We also shared the calamari and the vegetable crudités. The calamari was fantastic but the vegetables weren't cut into ideal size for dipping into the accompanying hummus. For my entree I went with the rock shrimp bucatini. Almost no shrimp at all in the dish. Two medium sized shrimp cut into pieces, that's it. $24 for essentially just a small bowl of pasta?

I've been to CO-OP a few times for brunch and while I've never been blown away by any of the meals my experiences have generally been okay. The best thing about CO-OP is that you're almost always able to walk in without too much of a wait, even on the weekends. The restaurant is spacious and the decor is beautiful. It makes for a wonderful place to enjoy brunch on a spring or summer day. As for the food, it's decent---not great but not terrible. The best item I had during my most recent visit was definitely the homemade biscuit. The biscuit was warm, soft, and somehow fluffy and dense at the same time (I ate 1.5 biscuits and was already halfway to being full to give an idea of the density). For my main course I had the whole egg frittata, which was just okay. It wasn't bad, but not the sort of frittata I would expect for $13. Service isn't particularly fast, but I wouldn't quite call it slow either. All in all, CO-OP is a decent option. It wouldn't ever be my first choice for brunch in the city, but if you don't feel like waiting in line somewhere else you can get a good enough meal here.

Food was poorly prepared; eggs not cooked properly, potatoes not cooked through, requested well done bacon and was still soft. When we returned the eggs for not being cooked through the server seemed annoyed. For $16 I would expect more then 1 egg on the plate. Pancakes came with nothing in the side like small fruit or garnish. Powdered sugar was sifted in only half of a single pancake leaving a very lazy presentation. Overall for a this price point , this place fails on every account. Also I had call the server back because they tried to try me extra for the returned uncooked egg.

This place is aight. Solid happy hour, food's tasty enough, beautiful space - if a bit echoey. But, CO-OP is running up against a lot of amazing places opening up in UCity that have that one thing where you're like "man, I gotta go to ____ to get their ____, like right now." I have been here a few times and I just can't seem to find that item for me, yet. I will say I like drinking here more than I like eating. They have a fully stocked (and I mean FULLY stocked) bar with pretty much anything you might need to make a cocktail that probably isn't on the menu, but again, they got it so you can get it. It's a great place to meet people because it's nice and roomy, which is also a plus.

I was always curious about this place every time I would walk past the place. I was finally able to try this place with my college daughter and her roommate. I do have to say the interior is really well done. It's open and the large glass window wall was retracted up so the terrace eating and the interior kind of flowed as one room. It is a very comfortable environment to dine. The kitchen is sort of an open kitchen separating the kitchen and the dining with windows. The service was okay. Surprisingly, for a Saturday brunch/lunch time the place was full, but they had enough empty tables. Our waiter seemed a bit overwhelmed, apologizing for the delay with multi things due to the busyness of the place. To be honest, I have seen busier places (ie White Dog cafe and Sabrina's cafe in the neighborhood) where the services were more prompt and efficient. The food we ordered were okay. I did like my food, however, I'm not sure if it was worth the amount they charged. I do have to say the food tasted fresh, but something was missing. I can't pinpoint what that missing component is, but I probably will not be going back. I also ordered coffee, and I'm sure they use good coffee, but maybe it was the way they brewed it tasted like coffee from any old diner. I guess it all depends on an individual preference, but I would rather pay the amount I paid and eat at the White Dog cafe. For me a good ambiance was not enough to make me want to go back. If someone pays for my food I may go back and try some other entrees.

This was a great experience! Everything was amazing. The waiter was very attentive. The chef came out to greet us. The food was plates beautifully but tasted even better. We had the cornbread, chilled corn soup, cod, pana cota for dessert. We enjoyed every bite! The ambiance was nice too. Would definitely come back.

I think CO-OP is a great addition to the eastern University City dining scene. I liked everything about it. It is bright and airy which you notice as soon as you walk in. The service was friendly and very competent - several service staff brought or cleared dishes insuring a smooth flow to the meal. And most important of all - the food was good ... real good! The Deviled Egg appetizer was a mouth-watering way to begin. They can def be addictive, don't you think? A Mac 'n Cheese for my main dish was oozing with cheese(s) and flavor. And the Cherry Cobbler topped with ice cream is a perfect Philly summer dessert. CO-OP made a really fine first impression!

I really enjoyed lunch at CO-OP this week. The restaurant is incredibly beautiful. My friend and I were hoping to sit outside, and when we mentioned this to the hostess, she hit a button and the walls started to fold up into the building! There were a lot of tasty-sounding dishes available for lunch, but I wanted to keep things relatively light with a salad. I ordered the kale salad with the dressing and blue cheese on the side. I also added avocado and grilled shrimp. The salad was quite large and very pretty. There was an entire half of perfectly-ripe avocado, which I loved! I wasn't so crazy about the green goddess dressing; it didn't really have much flavor. I'd order this salad again for sure, but perhaps with a vinaigrette, instead. I told my husband last night that I really want to return for dinner sometime. And I'd be very interested to know whether or not they offer a happy hour. That's one I'd be willing to go out of my way for, mos def.
