"Coach’s Steak and Hoagie House serves up a standout cheesesteak and Italian hoagie, but it’s also a stellar spot to grab an order of chicken wings. Choose your favorite sauce — barbecue, spicy garlic, and sweet teriyaki to name a few — and order wings to enjoy all on your own or to share with family members and friends during the big game." - Kristen Kwiatkowski

"Freshly sliced sirloin steak is topped with your choice of cheese and served on a soft Liscio’s Bakery roll at Coach’s in Doylestown. Enjoy your beef cheesesteak with peppers and onions or try the chicken bacon ranch cheesesteak for something a little different than your usual sandwich order." - Kristen Kwiatkowski

"With hoagie in the name, you better believe that Coach’s Steak and Hoagie House in Doylestown knows how to create a stellar sandwich. Enjoy a classic American hoagie with ham, Genoa salami, and American cheese and your choice of veggie toppings on a Liscio’s Bakery hoagie roll or try something new as far as hoagies are concerned with the Coach’s Cuban, a delicious combination of roast pork, black forest ham, Swiss mustard, and pickles." - Kristen Kwiatkowski

Different Cheesesteak #1197. Christmas came early for the cheesesteak guy! I got a cheesesteak with fried onions and mushrooms. Let’s get this out of the way, The fried onions can/should be smaller and the mushrooms got lost in the cheesesteak. But those 2 things don’t really matter because this a very good cheesesteak. Coach’s uses fresh sliced sirloin. I’m a sirloin fan. They season the meat. It tasted like steak. Good Liscio’s roll. Good amount of cheese. I hate to say this because one guy working and he got slammed with orders, would have liked a little better cheese distribution. Gotta love eating by a fireplace. Very clean grill. Bonus video of Ed cleaning the grill. PS who knew Doylestown is straight out of a Hallmark movie?!?!?!?!

I'm still thinking about this place two weeks later. Great sandwiches, and great service! Thanks for serving some out of towners just looking for a bite to eat!

This little local hoagie and steak shop is a must while in Doylestown whether you’ve had a long night out on the town and need something to sober up with or just a delicious lunch. Definitely a no frills place but they give you huge portions and everything is made fresh per order. We got the Italian Hoagie since it was super hot out and we wanted a quality cold meats sandwich. It was perfect! Crisp bread with great sesame seeds and huge stacks of meat layered together perfectly! We got one sandwich to split and it was gigantic. Great value for the price portion wise. We also got the crab fries (steak fries with old bay seasoning) and they fried them up fresh right there. They were piping hot out of the fryer and perfectly crisp. Amazing fries! I would definitely come back to try a cheesesteak when it isn’t so hot outside! They also had AC which was a perfect escape. The only issue was they were out of ice in the ice machine, but that was just a small issue.

What a hidden gem!! The steak egg cheese was big, flavored, cheese and piping hot!! King crab fries with old bay brought me back to my Maryland roots!! Affordable, delicious and local!!

Delicious cheesesteak. Always good to start with the Liscio’s seeded roll. Little pricey at $15 but overall great taste. Nice blend of steak and cheese and onions.

In the heart of Doylestown, you can find one of the best places for wings and cheesesteaks. The wings were massive and meaty. The wing by are slightly breaded and they came out perfectly crisp 10. The sauces were spicy and tasty. The steak was jumbo and tasty and can’t beat the price of $9 either. Overall, great value and price equals a big win in my book.

First time I ate food from this place, my husband said he had hoagie sandwich from here a long time ago. So I gave it shot to try this place and when we walked in this morning on Saturday at 9:50am, there’s no one there which made me not so sure about eating here but then I was thought probably people were ordering to go (which is what we were doing actually). After we placed our order we waited and sat down. Then I told my husband the price for a breakfast sandwich (meat, egg & cheese) for $6 this kinda pricey for simply a breakfast sandwich than what we would get from Wawa (the sizzling) and also at my workplace in Basking Ridge New Jersey (they also use fresh eggs same like here but they’re rolls are bigger). My husband said to me well their sandwich might be bigger than Wawa, and for $5 homefries, most likely it will be a decent portion that I can have it for tomorrow as leftovers and I said alright then. I brought the food to our home that we were looking forward to have our lovely breakfast from this place and guess what, we ordered 2 sausage, egg and cheese on the bagel, 1 sausage, egg & no cheese on the bagel, 2 hashbrowns and an order of homefries. You’ll see on the pics I attached. Do you see bagel or brioche? Cuz we ordered bagels and the breakfast sandwich also is the same size as Wawa sizzling I know the pictures can’t really show much compare seeing in person but if you familiar with this square foam hinged container sizes you’ll see if not even fit completely. Also the $5 homefries looks like a kids size and my husband said “ok we’re not going back there anymore” I’m not a business owners but I ran a food business in Jersey so I’m familiar with prices and portion wise, the only differences is we serve bigger portions with less prices even like that we still have someone complaining about pricing and we’re located where rich people live. So if you wanted your place to be famous/ busy you need to win them, not like this way unless you used all of your produces, bakery and dairy organic which I doubt it. Ok it’s fine you’ll get the money for the price of your food but you might not see costumers coming back. Literally disappointed with these portions you have.

Wow! Just wow! We just needed a place to eat on a Saturday in Doylestown and stumbled in on this amazingly satisfying sub shop! The cheesesteak was spot on, their Turkey hoagies were stuffed full, and their French fries will rival the best!

Yelp
A breakfast sandwich we wanted. A breakfast sandwich we got! I had the scrapple and pepper jack on a brioche roll (hold the egg) and my travel companion had the pork roll, cheese, and egg on brioche, as well. Both were quite tasty and they scratched an itch. The owner was friendly and welcoming and told us he likes his breakfast sandwiches on that roll also, but his favorite is the Cooper Sharp. I didn't even think of getting that kind of cheese on mine, but next time I will. "Melts right into the meat" he said. Ooooeyy gooey.....that sounds delightful to me. It was moderately busy on a late Sunday morning, but we didn't have to wait too long for our sandwiches to come out. We were going to take them to go, but thought it might be better just to stay there and not get crumbs all over the car. It was the perfect way to start our day.

Yelp
When in Pennsylvania, go for a cheesesteak sandwich! Wanted local fare on our trip to Doylestown. After sampling some local breweries, we thought it best to get some much needed sustenance!! What better than a cheesesteak or hoagie? The place looked like it was frequented place the locals liked. You can see kitchen, looked organized and clean. Staff was cleaning tables off for new customers. Large chalkboard posted their menu. The service was friendly and quick. We sat and the y brought our food to our table. These sandwiches were MASSIVE!! We could've cut ONE cheesesteak into 4 portions shared the irish fries and would've been satisfied!! I shared my sandwich with my sister. I had to cut mine half into half. The sandwich was delicious, filling and not at all greasy or wet. The fries on the other hand was alittle soggy and greasy. But it was like a guilty pleasure and went well with the sandwich. My son's chicken bacon ranch quesadilla was HUGE. he could only eat one third of it before he said he was full. My husband enjoyed his Philly chicken cheesesteak but could only eat 2/3 of it. The prices are great for the portions you get. We actually took 2/3 of our meal home!! Well made sandwiches. One would not leave hungry if they ate here!

Guy J.

Yelp
Really great place to grab a Philly cheesesteak! Good portions, good prices and simple ambience! Service was a bit slower, but well worth the wait. Loved it

Yelp
I've heard a lot about Coach's from some serious cheesesteak fanatics. I've been meaning to try them for months, I happened to be in the area one morning. I was excited when I saw they were open at 10am (but would've waited around if they didn't open until 11am). When I went in I ordered my cheesesteak: Cooper Sharp, with fried onions. As I finished saying that I was told "sorry, let me check something. We're serving breakfast until 11 and usually don't have any steak cut." I said no problem, I'll come back at 11am. They told me "don't worry about it, we'll make it for you". That was pretty impressive because I learned as I waited for my food just how busy these guys were with a ton of takeout orders. I didn't eat in the restaurant but it's definitely an option, plenty of tables in a well lit and clean dining room. I grabbed mine to go and made it to my destination in a ten minutes...the food was still piping hot. Now, I was also able to grab some wings since I heard those were good too. I opted for the Spicy Garlic sauce, which in all honesty is probably just their garlic sauce with some buffalo mixed in. No worries, it had a good flavor and there was no shortage of sauce. My only issue with the wings is the size. I'm sure I am in the minority here but I actually prefer small wings, these things are massive. But at $1 each I'm sure most people appreciate this. Now onto the steak. They use sirloin at Coach's and I honestly am fine with either Sirloin or Ribeye as long as it's not full of gristle and cut right. They also use Liscio's rolls which are some of the best around. The onions were cut the perfect size, some places it looks like Ray Charles does morning prep, not here! Every onion cut uniform and not too large plus they're were cooked perfectly. The cheese was evenly mixed through the meat that was seasoned well. Maybe a little too much pepper but at this point I'm splitting atoms. The cheesesteak was phenomenal, so good that you should absolutely make the trip to visit. There aren't many GOOD cheesesteak spots in this part of Bucks county and calling most of the GOOD is a stretch. Coach's is a GREAT cheesesteak spot and worth every penny!

Tony B.

Yelp
Seeded roll from Liscio's was awesome, Dietz and Watson meats were great quality; it was delicious. Small but comfortable inside and the staff was friendly!

Theresa K.

Yelp
We came here 10 minutes to closing and Ed was nice enough to serve us, allowing us to take our time eating and even treated us to fountain sodas on the house. Steak sandwiches are awesome, fresh sirloin and the rolls were perfect. After all it's all about the bread.

Bill B.

Yelp
Awesome cheesesteaks. Rolls are amazing. Fries are awesome too. Great place. Would definitely come back next time in Doylestown.

Kelly P.

Yelp
Awesome Best Philly Cheesesteak in town!!! Please stop in & share your experience!!! Irish Fries were sooo delicious!!!

Yelp
The food was good. Put special orders do upset them. We want a chesse state half cheese and the other half no cheese and oions and peppers. They messed this up. We went up to the counter and the Lady was rude and said we don't usually do this and would not put cheese on my husband sandwich. As rude to us she was nice to other customers. Customer Service is Key we were mad and upset about the attitude. I thought an order of onion rings for 10.00 was very high! Soda selection limited and they were out of Pepsi cherry Try if you want.

Rajah C.

Yelp
Good rolls & food. Excellent service. It's a decent sized sandwich place. Sure they have other things other than sandwiches & hoagie. I have tried a few different things here. The cheesesteaks were good, the turkey subs were good. Very big as well. My wife and I will split them because of how big. We leave nice and satisfied. Good place to go.

Mike G.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place 4 ever.... I am glad that I finally did. The Italian was very good and I even enjoyed the mortadella... with capacola and genoa salami. It would have been better if they didn't forget to put the provolone cheese and hot peppers! Whatever, I was hungry. Definitely want to try the cheesesteak and wings sometime soon!

Wendy C.

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday night after multiple failed attempts to get a table at various restaurants around 6:30pm while we had a few kids under 5 starving. We quickly ordered something and we seated ourselves. I got the Canadian fries, chicken finger kids meal and the titan sandwich. The Titan sandwich came with chips and pickles. It was actually pretty good! The cheesesteak was well made and loved the veggies that accompanied it. The fries were fresh and delicious. I wasn't a big fan of the Canadian fries though, I thought the bacon was going to be crispy but it was more like ham. I do have to say that the owner of this place is wonderful! He offered us hot chocolate for the kids and even the bags of chips that the kids had grabbed. Overall, we had a wonderful experience.

Brandon N.

Yelp
While not exactly ground zero for cheesesteaks, Doylestown, Pennsylvania is maybe forty miles or so from Philadelphia and they do have a pretty solid place for cheesesteaks here in Coach's Steak & Hoagie House. Service was good and friendly and again, the cheesesteak was pretty solid. If you are looking for a good cheesesteak and are in the Doylestown area, Coach's Steak & Hoagie House is definitely a good option.

Yelp
Rolls on the burgers are awesome. Nice kids working there. Sports on the TV so no one hears political arguing. Hometown feel for sure.

Peggy D.

Yelp
Passing through Doylestown my friend and I found Coach's a great stop for a Philly cheesesteak. Counter employee was helpful and they served our order to our table. The steak was delicious on a tasty roll and big enough for leftovers at a fair price for the size and quality. We'll be back!

Amy E.

Yelp
Very good cheesesteak and cleaner than the original spots without the lines and much closer to home than Philly lol. As a NY transplant I should probably just stick in my lane with the pizza and wings, but cheesesteaks are my thing, esp when I was pregnant (i was actually a veg when I became pregnant with my son and it was one of my major cravings). So much for that lol. My husband isn't quite the fanatic, but thankfully he is a good sport. The rolls were so fresh. Very fluffy and delicious. The Bucks I ordered plain, I should have done the cheeze whiz, but ordered the cheesesteak fries and didnt want to over do it. Overall enjoyed and it was fast too. Will certainly be back!

Justin L.

Yelp
Really good cheesesteak in Doylestown. If you are heading to the theater, stop here before for one, it was excellent.

Tatum W.

Yelp
Breakfast sandwiches are amazing. Their hoagies are also super yummy. Would recommend this place

Oscar S.

Yelp
Nice spot for lunch/dinner, cheesesteaks we're crazy good. I'd love to come back here again sometime

Joel C.

Yelp
It's always so crowded so I waited until 3 pm on a Tuesday and went in and was served a delicious burger with prov I am looking forward to trying the cheesteak and the breakfast

Larry B.

Yelp
Had not ordered there in a while. Ordered the roast beef hoagie. Had 1 (one) slice of roast beef on it. Less than the goose at almost twice the price. Very disappointed. PS- location is wrong- I'm from Doylestown.

Adessa M.

Yelp
To the owner: you were a little rude. I chose your place to go after a colonoscopy procedure and not being able to eat for two days and the drink from hell. I was looking forward to it. I understand your attitude because I was in the business a Long time and I understand the pressure. I worked in New Hope as a kitchen manager at Havana. I also worked all over in the kitchen in tourist spots. By the way I came out of anesthesia. You were, well you had to get it together. Your food is overpriced. That burger, get rid of the Bill Gates garbage. And the cheese steak what is the odd taste? You have to fix the food. I know that kitchen is small, build it and buy bigger. GOD is always holding your hand. You can do this. Pocos started the same way you did, but then blew it up. Calm down, I forgive you. If you have a little faith in your customers, they will love you. Walk with GOD, not the government. They don't matter, you do.

Trevor R.

Yelp
Best Italian hoagie out there! Funky fun hole in the wall that sells awesome subs. Go there!

Kelly R.

Yelp
The food is gross , gross, gross!! The cheesesteaks are so nasty. The meat is so fatty, and it is not chopped up. Do not go in there and eat while Sean is cooking. You will be disappointed!

Harry B.

Yelp
Coaches is a small sandwich shop in the heart of downtown Doylestown, PA. Looks to be run by a few local guys and that is awesome! They have paper menus and digital signage for menus. I like that. It helps keeps things moving. My sandwich was called the "Indian" and it was very good. Loaded will all the goodies a great sandwich shop should have and offer. Bread was soft and delicious. They have fountain sodas and a case with bottled drinks. Prices were very fair and there was lots of seating for a place like this. The restrooms required a key. Like the days of road side gas stations. It was funny actually. Carrying a 24" wink with a key attached to it. The bathrooms were spotless and I am sure it was because they had them locked. Yeah! Go! Eat a great sandwich and a quality Coke in a glass bottle and support these fine local men.

Jonathan K.

Yelp
One of the best cheesesteaks one can get outside of the city!! Hand carved top of the line steak!! Choice of cheese and mixins. Home cut fries made for each order. Popular with the locals and those who work in town. Great atmosphere. Place is a hidden gem. Eddy and his staff go out of their way to make the best possible food with fresh wholesome ingredients bought locally. Can't wait for my next coaches adventure

Jim T.

Yelp
First time diner. Asked if I should try the "Buck" cheesesteak as my first meal. "Absolutely", they said. I was not impressed. The beef was chewy/fatty and had a "off" flavor. In fact it had no flavor. I had to put a lot of salt and pepper and then even ketchup just for this thing to be interesting to eat. There was very little cheese. On the positive side, the bread was great. Perhaps it was just an off day? I may go back, but I definitely would not order the Buck again. I have had much better cheesesteaks for about the same price.

Brendan U.

Yelp
Doing errands in downtown D-town looking for a sandwich shop and decided to try Coach's. Online ordering thru Yelp was super smooth. My teen son got the Explorer which he inhaled unceremoniously. I got the Ram and was impressed by the weight and cross section of the ch-steak. Fellow steak lovers can tell on the first few bites that the chosen roll was hearth-baked an up to the task; the meat, cheese, and with's were laid by someone who loves you. I'm actually trying to trim myself and was satisfied at the half, but naaaw, had to finish this chapter. It's the only reason I thought of rating them 4 or 4.5 stars because they made it harder for me mind my portions. Thanks Coach, we'll definitely be back and maybe even eat in.

Diana H.

Yelp
Oh my goodness! I am so glad I don't live nearby because this place would ruin me. The food reminds me of a place in the North East, Stoxy's, that closed years ago. I don't eat cheesesteaks and cheese fries, so maybe it's just me, but I didn't even know places still used cheese wiz anymore! Pure poison, but it brought me back to my childhood lol. I got the JV Philly Fries with fried onions. It. Was. Amazing. It would be nice to see a little more meat on the fries. $4 for the portion size is a steal tho! Everything was so flavorful. My 4 year old got the kids chicken tenders and fries and loved them. His portion was good as well. Location is perfect for while you're shopping downtown. The decor is what you would expect for a steak and hoagie house named Coach's. Restaurant and bathrooms were both clean. We'll be back next time we're in the area.

Michael P S.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere great food all around a very good experience from the kind staff and the best cheesesteak I ever had thanks

Scott V.

Yelp
Immaculate taste with the cheesesteaks and wraps. All around phenomenal staff and clean environment. I take 35 minute trips up there quite often. 10000% worth the drive. Best cheesesteaks in Doylestown by far. Real ribeye and amazing cooper sharp cheese. Rolls are always suoer soft and hold the cheesesteak perfectly. 10/10.

Matt M.

Yelp
First time here. The business district is pretty nice. The restaurant is very clean. The employees were fast and efficient. I went with a cheese steak fries and coke. The cheese steak meat was good, plenty of cheese. The roll was soft, almost too soft to a fault, you bite into it and it immediately flattened which kinda sucked because the meat falls out. The fries were very good! I will definitely come back, I'd like to try one of their hoagies.

Dennis P.

Yelp
Great spot for quick lunch while touring this historic area. Centrally located offering a wide variety of menu items. Portions are man-sized or should I say athletic sized. Appropriate for establishment's name. Don't leave without trying their french fries ... Home run.

Ishaan H.

Yelp
Awesome atmosphere and great lunch for a day around Doylestown

Samantha A.

Yelp
Ordered chicken tenders and a turkey hoagie for take out. First of all? The grub hub delivery was extremely convenient to since I'm unable to leave my house at the moment. Secondly, the food here was absolutely delicious. Honestly, some of the best chicken tenders I've had in awhile (and it was delivery chicken tenders mind you) along with a side of quality honey mustard. The hoagie was stuffed with quality meats, cheeses, and the works served on a great roll. Ordering online was very user friendly. Definitely would recommended coaches in doylestown!

Wayne W.

Yelp
Great breakfast sandwich . Nice selection of hoagies and great wings . Very friendly and young staff

James F.

Yelp
This is a locally owned a hoagie shop in the historical Doylestown. Everything is freshly made including breakfast sandwiches. Friendly staff and they are truly dedicated to the community.

James A.

Yelp
Solid cheesesteaks outside of Philly. Atmosphere is unapologetically focused on hyper-local sports teams.

Ryan P.

Yelp
This is by far the best cheesesteak in Doylestown. Im pretty picky about them, and having cooked them for years Im very well educated what makes a good steak. Coaches has been my go to spot for several months now and they never disappoint. Orders are always made right, and food is always ready when its supposed to be. In Doylestown its easy to spend $15/pp for lunch and still be hungry. Coaches comes in under that number and leaves ya nice and full. Highly appreciate what they are doing there and will keep going back.

Roger F.

Yelp
A suburban deli selling sandwiches named after local football teams? I feel like I'm in High School again! Although there's no "Golden Hawk" for me to properly represent my home team, the selection here is excellent. I got a Pirate (healthy) and some Freedom Fries (decisively not). There's nothing like the excess of pork roll topped on some cheese fries to brighten up your day. The sandwich was great as well. Just what I was looking for, a time-tested provolone and broccoli rabe combo. I don't get to Doylestown much, but when I go I'll make sure to stop by here. It's a hit!

Suzy C.

Yelp
Excellent cheese steaks, starting from the roll. The roll totally makes the sandwich. You know the kind of roll I'm talking about, the kind you bite into with that great "chew" , soft yet very hearty roll. The French fries are also a must try. Hearty and always crisp, absolutely delicious! I think $4.00 is a bit steep price, but they seem to be able to sell them for this price all day long without breaking a worried brow. So many awesome places to eat and things to do in Doylestown, it's a great place to find your smile on a sunny afternoon!

Meg C.

Yelp
horrible food and the owner is rude and insolent It took an hour and a half for a delivery and the food was disgusting

Allyson K.

Yelp
Food was good! I went there with my friend and the police is very clean and everybody was wearing masks which was good and the person at the desk was really nice and they had good service and the food was ready fast which was nice. All the food really tastes good and 10 out of 10 would recommend again

S V.

Yelp
A fabulous 'local' cheese steak! Have done take out on many occasions and every time they got it right! The fries are also delish!

Nicholas T.

Yelp
Amazing food anything you order is bound to be delicious! extremely friendly and helpful staff just a great place to eat!

Drew C.

Yelp
Delicious cheesesteaks! Went with a cheesesteak with peppers, mushrooms, and onions. Definitely one of the better cheesesteaks that I've had in the Philly area.
