The Best Chicago Restaurants and Bars Near Wrigley Field | Eater Chicago

"This Neapolitan pizzeria is the gourmet spot that Chicago didn’t know it needed. A few minutes away on the Southport Corridor, this place with satisfy kids but really impress adults who want a little bit more than a chain pie. There’s also a West Town location." - Ashok Selvam

The Best Restaurants In Lakeview

"Unlike other cities (ahem, New York) Chicago can appreciate pizzas of all kinds. Like the pies at Coalfire: The thin crust is dotted with flavorful char spots, yet have a soft chew and maintain a nice flop in the center. There are plenty of toppings to choose from, including options like pepperoni or egg, but our go-to is the Honey and Salami: a balanced trifecta of sweet, savory, and spicy courtesy of soppressata, honey, and calabrian chile. There are a lot of tables here, so come with your family and even your highly opinionated New York friends—it’s a good way to ease them into the Chicago scene before surprising them with a reservation at Pequod's." - sam faye, adrian kane, john ringor, veda kilaru

Coalfire - Review - Lakeview - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Unlike certain other cities (ahem, New York), Chicago knows how to appreciate pizzas of all kinds. Like Coalfire, whose thin crust pies are crispy and polka-dotted with flavorful char spots, yet have a soft chew and maintain a nice flop in the center. There are a plenty of toppings to choose from, including options like pepperoni, nduja, or a gooey egg, but our favorite is the Honey and Salami: a balanced combination of sweet, savory, and spicy courtesy of sopressata, honey, and calabrian chile. There’s a lot of tables here, so come with your family and even your highly-opinionated New York friends to ease them into the Chicago pizza scene before having them try some deep dish." - John Ringor

Food - The pizza here is truly amazing and delicious, I have never once been let down by the quality of the food within the establishment. This is coming from a rather picky eater as well! The margarita pizza is genuinely one of the best things I’ve ever tasted, I would invite it to my wedding if I could. Service - The people who work at this location are always kind and very professional. Despite that, the team gives off a very calm and normal air, which is always appreciated. The food comes out quick. Atmosphere - Just what you would expect from a pizza restaurant. It’s dark, but inviting. The whole aesthetic is pretty great overall, amazing place for friends and family.

I have finally made my way to Coalfire pizza. We shared one pizza for two and it was just enough for a meal that day. On another occasion I would have added a starter. I don’t remember the name of the pizza but it has salami, garlic cream, sausage and we loved the combination. I really enjoyed the taste of the dough, it wasn’t bitter or sour, it was perfectly balanced. I loved that it wasn’t dry, the amount of red sauce was good and no need to additional sauce on top. We appreciated the fresh basil 👌 The mulled wine wasn’t the best, but it was ok, and frankly after a fee sips it seemed even better ☺️ The server was very friendly and attentive l, the big guy had great attitude even while working on New Years eve so I really appreciate that. Great find, will be our pizza spot for now.

Google
One of my absolute favorite pizza places in the city! I love their vodka meatball pizza as well as their meatballs as an appetizer. Service is usually pretty quick as well. I also think that they are pretty family friendly. I come here a lot with my toddler and I have seen a lot of families in there as well. You can probably get takeout from here but I think that their style of pizza is the kind that is best eaten at the restaurant. Overall, highly recommend Coalfire!

Google
Great spot for Napoleon style fire roasted pizza! I especially recommend the pepperoni and whipped ricotta! They come out quickly like in 5-7 mins so I would suggest starting with 1 before you over order, because there are so many great options! We also tried the Burrato special with spiced honey and roasted pine nuts. Service was very good for a Sunday evening, and the restaurant is not super loud! Which was very appreciated after seeing a show at Mercury down the street! Street parking is paid parking only and a bit tough to find a spot.

Google
This place sounded so good every time I walked by. I visited my brother who lives in this area and we visited this pizza joint and were not disappointed. We split a sausage pizza and each had a cocktail. I had the Whiskey Sour with egg white and my brother had the Bee's Knees. The service was good, she was very nice and attentive. This is located in a great area near Wrigleyville. Parking can be tricky depending on the time of day.

Google
My friend's and I ate there before going across the street to Good Buds and then back across the street to The Music Box Theater - and Coalfire was fantastic! We even realized we had been there before and liked it then as well. Get the FUNGHI PIZZA if you mess with mushrooms - you're welcome.

Google
Great pizza and ambiance! I thought I’d like the jalapeno pepperoni more, but actually the sausage pizza with garlic cream (on the special menu) was superior! I couldn’t care less about the arugula on top though, I ate that before eating the pizza, the arugula felt gimmicky and was half wilted, half fresh - didn’t make too much sense as a topping. The crust at Coalfire is what really stands out - not oily, light, airy, charred well but not burnt. It’s a special taste and when you crave that kind of crust, nothing else really competes.

Google
Insanely great coal fired thin crust pizza in the heart of downtown Chicago. Friendly staff in a well appointed dining room. I saw lots of customers getting it to-go but I personally would dine in if possible since it is served very hot.

Yelp
The restaurant has a lot of street parking outside and lots of seating inside. There's tables for parties of 2-4 people and also large parties. Service was friendly and efficient and the pizzas came out really quickly. We ordered the funghi and the stracchiatella and sausage pizza. Both pizzas were delicious despite being very different. The mushroom pizza was garlicky and filled with umami from the mushrooms. The stracchiatella was spicy, savory and fresh from the red sauce and basil. Coal Fire has solid white sauce and red sauce margaritas pizzas. You won't go wrong with anything you pick here. I came here with a friend on a Sunday for lunch and we were seated pretty quickly. Definitely consider coming here for a great pizza option for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
We did takeout and got a Black & White pizza, a Pepperoni & Ricotta pizza, and a Caesar salad. The best item was definitely the Black & White pizza. Not too truffley and just cheesy enough. It was even better than I expected. The Pepperoni & Ricotta came with the ricotta on the side so I think it would've been better to get in person, but it was still pretty decent. Could've used some hot or sweet honey. The Caesar salad was just a classic Caesar, not especially good or bad. Ordering and pickup were both easy and the food came nice and hot!

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place. I loved this place when I used to live in the city. The pizza is sooo good. My favorite is the black and white one. Came back here after a long time and tried the nduja pizza and loveeed it! Drinks are great. Great place to come on a warm day and sit outside. Service is quick which is really great.

Yelp
It was another great experience at Coalfire! The Sangria was a nice treat as we talked before the Margherita and Stracciatella & Sausage was served! Both thin crusts were delicious. Our server was friendly and professional. We sat inside at a large window facing the street. The natural light was perfect.

Yelp
Service was great. Pizza was delish! Great outdoor seating. And not too crowded before or after a cubs game.

Yelp
Called in an order for two pizzas. The staff was great. When one person was busy, another member steps in and helps the next customer. My only issue is with their pricing. They're charging an additional $2-$3 on the advertised price online and not honoring what they had posted. A lot of restaurants are doing this and they seem to be getting away with it. I ordered their Margherita pizzas as well as their Honey & Salami. Both pizzas were very delicious. The Margherita came with your traditional red sauce, mozzarella cheese and plenty of fresh basil. The crust had a nice char and perfectly cooked. The Honey & Salami was my favorite of the two. It had the same perfectly charred crust and came with mozzarella, tomato sauce, Sopressata, honey and Calabrian chile. A truly delicious pizza. You get a little heat from the sopressata and Calabrian chile, and seems sweetness from the honey. I wouldn't hesitate ordering both pizzas again.

Yelp
We were in the mood for some pizza and came across Coalfire in Lakeview & let me tell u the pizza was fire... we did a walk in, it was pretty quiet for a Saturday eve (we arrived I think an hour before closing). They have the low light / dim light vibe going which creates such a calm/relaxing environment. Loved that! We ordered a half/half pizza (both pizzas need to have the same base to do so)- one side was the bacon jam and the other pepperoni with whipped ricotta. I didnt know what to expect with the bacon jam but it was nice and meaty. The 'jam' complemented the meat well Both pizza was super flavorful- the pepperoni defnitely surprised me it was so tasty! The service was great and our food came our super quick! Cannot wait to go back and try the other pizzas!

Yelp
This place is a total gem! I love coming here when I go see a show at the Music Box. I love getting their small pizza Margherita and a nice glass of Filbert's root beer. Unbeatable!

Yelp
The restaurant is well positioned on Southport and near the Music Box / Mercury theaters for an easy pre-show meal. The ambience is cute, simple, and clean. Albeit a little loud when busy. We ordered the pepperoni, sausage, with whipped ricotta pizza. The pizza was really good but not great, I wish it was a little crispier / less floppy but that could be personal preference. The arugula did add a nice freshness to it. The service was a little slow but friendly enough. It seemed like they had several large parties that evening which may be why it seemed delayed / didn't get refills on beverages. Four stars- it is definitely a great option in the area. It probably won't be added to my regular rotation.

Yelp
First time going to coal fire after ordering it in a bunch and wow is their fresh pizza amazing! Thought the honey and salami couldn't get better. We also got the new porker and thoroughly enjoyed. It is quite loud in the restaurant so that would be the only downside for an intimate date night, wouldn't be ideal. Service was super fast as well. One really nice surprise was the drink menu was quite varied. Really enjoyed the aperol cocktail I had.

Yelp
Great place to get dinner before a screening at the music box theater! It was literally 110 degrees outside so I was worried about walking into an open coal fire pizza oven restaurant type deal but the restaurant had AC and I was saved. The pizza is thin crust with chewy and crunchy texture, the whipped ricotta is heavenly. One pizza was good for two people but I could have totally bodied one of these by myself. Vibes are casual and lively, great for friends and family. Our server was so sweet and speedy, the pizza also came out in a jiffy!!

Yelp
We swung by Coalfire for a friend's bday party. We were a huge group and this place was able to accommodate us all. The service was fast but the servers were slightly rude. Maybe they were just overwhelmed by the big group or maybe because it was a little late, idk. I will give them the benefit of the doubt. The ambience was that of an authentic rustic pizza place. The main highlight is definitely the coalfire pizzas. We were hungry and went straight to pizzas. We tried the vegan pesto pizza and the pistachio pesto pizza. The pistachio pizza was mind blowing! The pesto with the honey drizzle and the greatest paired so well with the sausage. We literally devoured the pizza in minutes! Such a great place to try rustic coal fire pizzas! A must visit!
google avatar

Yelp
So good! The pesto pizza is to die for. I have never had pesto that good before!! The honey and salami was my second fav and then the black and white. I would 100% get them all again but now I need to come back and try all the different pizzas since these were so good!

Yelp
When most people think of pizza... "Chicago" is almost a ubiquitous word that you have to include, I mean Deep Dish was invented here and these facts are not in dispute. NOTE: The secret to our beloved Chicago favorites is "the water" which was told to me by an owner of an iconic Chicago favorite establishment who has built a multimillion dollar business serving deep dish pizza... I trust his words implicitly because you can't get it quite right anywhere else on the planet! We were ready to go off the beaten path and try something fresh and adventurous. I've tasted wood burning oven pizza but something about the word "coalfire" got my attention so we decided to dine at Coalfire. Coalfire did not disappoint. At Coalfire, you will first find prompt and courteous service from a staff eager to please their guest's. The atmosphere is rustic and elegant with exposed brick and steel beams making for a classic Chicago venue. On the menu is pizza... but much more than that as each selection is made with presentation pride and a meticulous combination of ingredients that is sure to please regardless of which menu item you choose. It was 9:00 pm and we didn't get the feeling that some 10pm kitchen closing places give you - quite the contrary... they were still greeting and seating people with a smile at 9:50. This was a light dinner for us so we skipped appetizers and ordered the Vegan Pesto which is an absolutely mouthwatering combination of pistachio pesto, spinach, garlic, crimini, and cherry tomato's. If there is a word to describe fresher than fresh then that's what I would use to describe the carefully selected and perfectly cooked ingredients that together formed an outstanding combination of flavors without any one of them crowding out the other. We also ordered a plain cheese pizza to verify the simplest and easiest - the flavor was again unique and tasteful with a deliciously mysterious cheese flavor combination. A single glass of red wine, (among their many wine choices) was a perfect pair with the flavor fest of pizza selections. Drink responsibly! Lastly, there is a distinct coal-fire flavor that brought a new dimension to the pizza. Combine that with the 1,500 degree coalfire cooking oven... and it seems we have the rare situation of all the steps of preparation cooking and serving working together... not to mention the super hot oven temp results in your food coming super fast! A big shout out to our server "Sasha." We sat at the bar and although it was somewhat busy... she took such good care of us and we appreciate that! If you're looking to up the stakes of your love for Chicago pizza, Coalfire is an absolute must!

Yelp
We came in for an early dinner before heading over to the Music Box Theater for the Chicago International Film Festival. We were seated immediately and ordered the Pepperoni & Whipped Ricotta pizza. It was enough for the two of us. The pizza was very tasty. The whipped Ricotta was a great feature for this pepperoni pizza. Next time I come back, I want to try the Honey & Salami.

Yelp
This review is based on multiple visits... Coalfire is a neighborhood favorite of ours. It's close, there's plenty of outdoor dining space, the pizzas are excellent, and there's generally good service. We've tried so many of their pizzas that it is hard to identify a favorite. If sharing for three or more people, we would definitely suggest a pizza from the specials and one from the main menu. If there's just two of you, one pizza should suffice. The appetizers and salads are pretty limited in my opinion. We usually get the endive and apple salad or the Caesar salad. There salads are equally delicious and are very shareable. This past weekend, we sat inside as it had just poured. The air conditioning didn't seem to be at its peak so it was also a little warm. Also, the service was a bit slow as it seemed to be only one main waiter for the whole place (there were plenty of runners). Given the heat, my only complaint was that my water was never refilled. This is why I prefaced that this review is based on many visits--our experiences have been stellar 9 out of 10 visits!

Yelp
TL;DR: This was good, but the place was very loud and I have had better pizza elsewhere Coalfire w extremely loud on a Saturday at 5:00 because of large parties and kids birthdays. I am not a huge fan of feeling like another number paying for a meal. The caesar salad was good, but small for the price. the Bacon Jam and Salami and honey are both good pizzas. I think I can name better pizza places (ex: Zaza's pizza) and I feel like this place is a littler overhyped
google avatar

Alice W.

Yelp
The vibe: date night before the music box, and you like good food but haven't figured them out yet. Coal fire is one of my FAVORITE places for pizza. I am someone who loves a good spacca Napoli but when I want bang for my buck I also love a big fancy pizza with honey somewhere on there. It's also the kind of place where you can get a nice cocktail or a beer. Ambiance is very casual.

Mary L.

Yelp
We have found our new favorite neighborhood pizza place. The food here is delicious, we've been multiple times and haven't had any issues with food. We love sitting out on their patio and people watching with our dog. Service has been pretty good, there was only one time where we had to go looking for our server because we had been waiting over ten minutes to get drinks on a slow night. It's ok, I'm sure she was new and it takes time to get into the swing of things. We will definitely be back a lot.
google avatar

Elise A.

Yelp
I love coming here for a quick dinner! It's never super busy and the pizza is awesome! I always order the honey and salami pizza which is so tasty and is always warm and ready within 10ish minutes!

Yelp
Tried out the place for the first time and ordered two pizzas, black & white and vegan pesto with Stracciatella. Server didn't inform us that cheese would be extra and it would have been nice to know that. I am completely supportive of being charged but a courtesy heads up would be nice. The hostess was assigned 10-12 tables and it was evident she was stretched thin. Our pesto pizza came burnt and after waiting 10 mins, I went to the front area and spoke with the main host and he said he would pass the message along to the server. During this time I also saw another guest get up and grab the server because they had been waiting on their check for some time. I go back to my seat and another 5 minutes go by the server comes back and is not aware of our pizza situation which means the host didn't pass the message which was disappointing. We ask for a Margherita which they are kind enough do make and bring out but we don't end up eating much because we were full and lost our appreciate from waiting. We receive the check and notice we were charged for the Vegan pesto and the Stracciatella which was disappointing since we didn't end up having that pizza due to it being burnt and were surprised that we got charged $28 for that pizza and not the Margherita that we received as replacement. Please train your staff to provide support and communicate when they see a server overloaded with tables and customers are getting up to ask for service and provide feedback. It is the managements responsibility to staff properly. The black and white pizza, albeit no structure or crunch, was tasty. Hope to revisit and have a better experience. Insane to think two pizzas, a fountain coke, and a cider totals to $67 bucks. Absurdly expensive for a local spot.

Yelp
Don't know where to start. We come here just about once a week. Summer is the best for outside dining. Our server Liam has become our best friend after 20-something visits. Order is always: 1 Vodka Meatball 1 Pistachio Pesto Spicy Marg & Diet Coke. Cesar salad is great too.
google avatar

Jaime R.

Yelp
Delicious pizza and great salads! I started off with a nice salad that had apple slices, walnuts, cheese, and a delicious dressing which was a great portion. I had the arugula and roasted tomato pizza which was so delicious and just what I was looking for! The toppings were so flavorful and the crust had a nice chew. I would say that I wish the bottom of the pizza was a bit more done but other than that, I was super happy and had leftovers for a few days as well. Will be back!
google avatar

Angel A.

Yelp
I really enjoyed their pizza when is stopped by last week. I've been meaning to try this place for ages and it was definitely worth the visit. I got the classic which was a cheese pizza with minced garlic and basil. Next time I'll try the pepperoni! Looking forward to coming back soon.
google avatar

Jeremy B.

Yelp
This place is a sleeper. It's that place that not many people know of it but also those that do tend to forget about it in the big realm of Chicago pizza. Pistachio pesto pizza is hands down my fave. Regretted that one time I deviated away from it....see photo. Don't get me wrong it was great!!! But it wasn't Pistachio pesto pizza
google avatar

Daniel S.

Yelp
Nice woodfire pizza restaurant on the Southport Corridor, not far from Wrigley Field. They have a wide variety of pizza choices. I got to try the sausage red pepper one, and then the pepperoni honey one. Both good, the honey one is definitely sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. They have lots of outdoor seating when the weather is nice. They have a pretty good drink and craft beer list, they had miskatonic on tap, which you don't see in too many places. For apps we split the meatballs with marinara sauce and cheese, and this broccoli dish that was good. Definitely a quality spot to stop at before a Cubs game or show at the Music Box, or just to go in general.
google avatar

Andrew P.

Yelp
Everything was excellent here. Started off with a Caesar salad, which tasted great and was easy to split between two people before waiting for the pizza. We ordered a pepperoni which the server recommended as a typical favorite, and it did not disappoint! The have two spaces at this restaurant. When you enter there is more of a bar/high top feel, and the other side is a typical restaurant lower seat feel. We opted for the high top and we're able to watch the football game towards the front. Our server was super friendly and checked up on us often. Great service and great food. Will 100% be back!
google avatar

Ricki Ann T.

Yelp
This was our first visit at this location. We usually visit the Grand Ave CoalFire and I have to say the Lakeview spot is more inviting. Lakeview has a bar, 2 dining rooms and a larger appetizer menu. We had a group of 6 and were seated promptly at our reservation time. Hostess and our Server were great friendly and welcoming which made the slower service okay - they were super busy that night. Meatballs, basically a deconstructed meatball sandwich, were incredible tender and flavorful and the red sauce mmmm! Caesar salad fresh and crispy romaine lettuce perfectly dressed and not gloppy. Pizza is the real reason to come here and you can order any pizza off of the menu and be very pleased. Pepperoni is a favorite and I always add whipped ricotta to anything and I suggest you do. Everyone left full and happy and dreaming of the next visit.

Noah G.

Yelp
Amazing pizza! We got the Jalapeño & Pepperoni pizza, each ingredient was perfectly flavorful. Loved the crust and the cheese as well. The vibe was nice but pretty empty, and it was in the perfect location. Would definitely come back for some great thin crust.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday evening, party of two, was not that busy. Got seated right away and after a couple of minutes (just water was brought to our table) decided we wanted to sit at the bar area instead. With extremely poor attitude we were seated and ignored. Waitress came by twice and said nothing and another one came by and said nothing. Sat for ten minutes, got up and left. Greeter/hostesses have a bad attitude. I've eaten here once before and while the pizza is good, i won't go back.

Yelp
Coalfire was the 2nd stop for us on our progressive patio cocktail and app adventure! When we arrived, we were easily able to snag a table on the patio. The hostess followed us with menus and was very friendly! Quinn came over shortly after we sat down with some water and told us that he would be taking care of us. He gave us some time to review the menu and then when he came back over, we were ready to order some drinks. I asked for the Hibiscus, but Quinn said that he wasn't sure they had all the ingredients so I asked for the Velvet Kiss as my backup. He assured me that both were great drinks so I would be happy with either. Others from the table placed their drink orders and then we started looking at the pizza menu. So may of their pizzas sounded delicious, but the pesto pistachio was calling my name! Since we had a few meat eaters at the table, we agreed to order half with and half without sausage and we all agreed that adding spinach would be tasty! When Quinn came out with our drinks, he did inform me that they did not have the ingredients for my other drink, so the Velvet Kiss was brought out instead. Once he placed the drinks down, we had to take photos and then we sipped our drinks. Quinn took our order and told us he would be back momentarily with refills for water. The drinks were so good and refreshing. I think some of us may have ordered a 2nd round! Then our pizza came out and it looked amazing and smelled so good. You wanna know what's so great about this pizza? There was a hint of honey (yes, honey!) in each bite and it was so good. I never thought to do that before, but Coalfire, found a way to make it work! Once we finished our drinks and the pizza, we were ready for our checks. I was sad to leave, but our adventure was still ahead of us and we had more places to visit. But thanks for great service and tasty food and drinks Coalfire!; we will be back!

Yelp
One of my favorite pizza spots in the neighborhood (and possibly all of Chicago, but I can't commit to that quite yet). We started with the caesar salad which was straightforward and did the job of something healthy to offset the amount of pizza we were about to consume. We ordered the vodka meatball, pistachio pesto, and tomato arugula. Way too much food, but pizza is always a great leftover so no regrets. The pistachio pesto pizza is in a league of its own. It's a pesto base topped with sausage, cheese, and honey. Honey on pizza might seem strange but it compliments all the flavors in this perfectly. The vodka meatball is a staple for us. I wasn't a huge fan of the tomato arugula, but my partner loved it! I've never had anything actually bad here, and the service is always fantastic. Very hardworking staff going above and beyond to make sure everything is sanitized and that people feel safe.

Yelp
Visited the old neighborhood - Wrigleyville, which I miss because of the variety of shops and restaurants. Parking was and is really tough so you'd often walk or bike to where you needed to go. I was gone by the time Coalfire stopped, dropped, shut them down and opened up their shop (homage). But they have a lengthy list of accolades and they're unabashed to list them all on their website. Now that's street creed folks. But Coalfire cooks with coal?? But there's no smell, no soot - it's probably clean coal?? I hear it's hotter than wood fire ovens and that the crust comes out charred, yet soft and chewy. There's a nice, big tent outside on Southport (they have heating) and the ceilings for indoor dining are high. The decor is inviting. The Nice greeting (oh, make reservations y'all - this place gets filled really easily) and excellent service was very much appreciated. There was plenty of kind attention during this dining experience. The ricotta cheese pizza was eye candy and that had to be a choice. The white and black was also intriguing so that was a nice balance. Both pizzas were flavorful, it's a non-cracker like crust which is very thin. As a thin crust lover, I'm used to picking up my slice and eating it. However, these slices are limp so you have to use two hands. They're also somewhat light so order an entire pizza for yourself. Overall, I'm glad to have made it back to the old neighborhood and finally try Coalfired pizza.

Yelp
I loved the pistachio pesto pizza. Had a sweeter undertone. We also got the lasagna pizza which was more of a classic flavor. Both great but the showstopper of the night was the caprese salad. I believe it was on the special/temporary menu but it was incredible. I've been to Italy before but this caprese salad was the best ever! A must try!
google avatar

Carly S.

Yelp
Some of the best pizza in Chicago! It's definitely a departure from your standard deep dish, but in the best way possible. Because it's so thin, it's great to get a few pizzas to try and not feel full right away. I have been here multiple times since I live on the same block, and tonight I had the Pistachio Pesto pizza for the first time - life changing! I will be coming back for it again, that is for sure. The staff is also very attentive. They have all been quick and thorough each time I've visited, and it's definitely a reason to come back. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Two words: MEATBALL. DIP. It's like a meatball sub, but a meatball sub that you want to have children with, to grow old alongside, to be your very best friend. I'm not joking that this was the best meatball sandwich I have ever eaten. The meatballs are incredible. The cheese is plentiful. You think it's on boring ole bread? Think again. It's on delicious soft garlic bread. The marinara sauce is served on the side (hence why it is called a dip), and this is an excellent decision because it prevents the bread from becoming soggy. The sauce is also very flavorful with just a little kick and really adds some delicious tomatoey flavor to this meatball sandwich. So what I'm saying is: get the meatball dip. Hell, get 5! I won't judge you. But don't, DEFINITELY don't promise your boyfriend half of it for later because that sandwich will taunt you all day. You're gonna want to eat the whole thing and YOU SHOULD NOT SHARE! Moving on....ordered takeout for lunch- the aforementioned holy meatball dip, the house salad, the pepperoni and whipped ricotta pizza, and a slice of pie. This was part of a really good restaurant week deal. Not sure if they still have the deal, but I hope so because I want to order again. The salad was surprisingly good for how simple it is, the radishes and pumpkin seeds add a nice crunch and the dressing is fresh and tangy. The pizza was good- I'm not a huge fan of this style pizza (I don't really like the burned spots) but I enjoyed this. The whipped ricotta and fresh basil were delicious. And finally, the pie was a slice of citrus pie from Bang Bang pie. The takeout was packaged really nicely and my order was ready right on time and handed over by some super friendly servers! If you take anything from this review, it's that you should get the meatball dip. Preferably now.

Yelp
The lasagna pizza was very tasty, the pepperoni pizza was pretty standard, the service was great, the environment was so so given tables are stacked near on top of one another.

Yelp
Good pizza. Waitress seemed to not are about us. She spent time in the back chatting and eating.

Yelp
eehh... The Pizza is ok. I'm not quite impressed to be honest. I heard a lot about this place and really wanted to try it. They do have good options for toppings. But, alas don't think it will be my go to. Also, uncut ingredients added as a whole on top of the pizza, like whole olives are just annoying. Additionally, it is too expensive for my blood. 1 Pizza 3 topping for delivery and I paid over $40 for it. eehh

Yelp
Went here for dinner and had to wait only a few minutes for a table. The restaurant was very loud and tables very close together so hard to hear each other talking. Since they are constantly making pizzas and kitchen is somewhat exposed, the restaurant is also very warm! We immediately asked for water to cool down. The food was good, nothing over the top great. Had the meatball appetizer and pepperoni and whipped ricotta pizza. The cocktails weren't very strong and tasted mostly like juice. I had the go to vodka one. I'd come here again and get another pizza to try.

Yelp
Great again!! Happy to come back when the street was closed and we could eat out on the street. They had a drink station to grab a beer and hang out, listen to music, and wait for your table. The manager even pulled a special table together for us outside the designated zone so we didn't have to wait which was appreciated! We got the same pizza as before which was amazing like the previous time! We polished it off!! But I also go the Caesar salad which came out after the pizza and was good, but not worth the money in my opinion. Pretty light on the dressing so had to ask for more but again it's a pizza place so come for the pizza!! Can't wait to be back and keep supporting the business.

Yelp
Zero stars. Online orders for delivery = ridiculous. Ordered Michael's and had that for dinner after a frustrating experience with and no pizza from Southport Coalfire. Am now in food delivery fail refund Hades where following up on my refund is a new part time job for this week.

Yelp
Pizza was excellent! Incredible coal flavor in the crust. The toppings were very fresh and unique. The staff was also very friendly when I went to pick up the pizzas, they had it all ready for me. Next time I'll dine there, the ambiance has the feeling of an old-style NY pizza place.

Yelp
Had a nice meal here the other night. The pizza is DELICIOUS! I've had the margherita and the classic. The broccolini burrata was not good... the bread was not toasted, the broccolini was cold, and the burrata was fine. What a disappointment. Good thing the pizza made up for it. The service was okay. Would be interested in checking out their other location!

Yelp
PISTACHIO PESTO PIZZA. PPP. This is one of the most unique pizzas I have had, and it did not disappoint. Salty and sweet combo. It is something I will be ordering for the rest of time. Can't wait to have it again. (The Jalapeño Pepperoni is also good, but was outshined by the pistachio)

Yelp
Delicious super thin pizza with the usual and not so usual toppings (salads are good too). Staff are really nice and they food is very consistent.

Yelp
We had the Vodka Meatball pizza. The meatballs are mini like you would find on Tostito pizza, but obviously much better quality. This makes sure you get one in every bite. We added crumbled sausage because you can never have enough meat. So good.

Yelp
We ordered the pepperoni and whipped ricotta pizza which was really good. I wasn't a huge fan of the sausage pizza. I will definitely come back and try the salad and some of the appetizers.

Yelp
Super casual. Awesome food, there is an awesome selection of pizzas plus you can create your own. The wait staff is always super super friendly and accommodating. They also have great drinks.
