New York Bars With Holiday Rum Cocktails | Eater

"This Long Island bar’s menu leans towards food from the Gulf of Mexico, but with additional influences from Caribbean, Americana, and Korean cuisine. The variety extends to the extensive cocktail list, which includes a rotating drink of the week, but your must-try this holiday season is the Limonada de Coco. Coastal Kitchen makes its own coconut cream in-house, then mixes it with vanilla liqueur to approximate condensed milk. This gets further blended in with BACARDĺ Añejo Cuatro, aguardiente, and fresh-squeezed lime juice to present a richer take on warmth of star anise in this Colombian classic." - Brendan McGinley

Our waitress Cat short for Catherine was so sweet and helpful. I’ve never been to Coastal kitchen and Cat explained the menu and specials with ease. She explained the history of resturant group who owned Coastal Kitchen and how it all started. Cat was friendly, charming and efficient great hire Coastal Kitchen’. We had the Birria quesadilla, the Maduras and the jerk wings which were so perfectly spiced I felt like I was sitting on a tree trunk on the beach in Jamaica. Wonderful selections here we will definitely be back it started to pick up after 9:30 pm cheers 🥂 Lindsay

Costal is always a good time and one of my favorite places in downtown Bay Shore. The drinks are always phenomenal, delicious and perfectly tropical! The food is just as good and the selection of beverages. Flavorful and very diverse in selection. I haven’t had anything I haven’t liked yet and I appreciate the menu for having a little culture!

Google
Today, I finally decided to dine at my local restaurant, and I must say. I was impressed by the food presentation. It looked just as good as it tasted; the flavors were spot-on. I ordered the kimchi fried rice with calamari, a kids’ hamburger, and a fried chicken sandwich. However, I was surprised to see a $3 charge for sauce on my bill. When I brought it to the server’s attention, he explained that it’s standard practice. I replied that if that’s the case, customers should be informed beforehand not surprised with an extra charge after placing their order. Transparency goes a long way in customer satisfaction.

Google
Had an amazing time at Coastal Kitchen in Bayshore! This place is a fantastic cocktail & daiquiri bar with an impressive selection of unique and delicious drinks. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this spot for a great night out!

Google
Me and my wife come here often. We love the Skewers and the drinks. The bartenders are great and really love to make you feel welcomed. The live music is really dope as well. Bay Shore hot spot !

Had a blast with drinks, food, and fun conversations. The service was great and the drinks were stiff. What more could you ask for?

Yelp
Caribbean Mexican beach surf vibe. Some for he food can be somewhat heavy. Make sure to wash it down w some cocktails or beer on tap. Too full to try dessert this time around. The HOG veg, kale dressed on my plate under neath the jerk salmon was delish tonight.

Yelp
3rd or 4th time at this restaurant with declining experiences each time. 1st excellent got table, food , drinks, and service great. Bartender was great forgot her name. 2nd: went with our two teenagers and went to the bar to get adults beverages. Kids weren't at the bar just standing in the crowd directly next to us. Bouncer came up and informed us we'd have to go back towards the door as the kids couldn't be there? It was crowded not a lot of standing room but okay whatever. This is the first time I have experienced that policy. Ruined the night but we ate and food was awesome. Anthony T (Owner): I get that the restaurant evolves to more of a bar later at night, however later in my mind would be 9pm or 10pm? Not 7 or 8 and the family has never been ushered out of any bar area towards the door? 3rd time: Saturday night multiple events booked and no tables to be found. Long wait. Don't understand the logic of booking multiple events at prime time for dinner when you don't have a separate room for parties. Move those to Sundays or other earlier times On the weekend. 4th time: called ahead wouldn't take a reservation, encouraged us to come in and found a 90 min wait had drinks at the bar, lots of people waiting. 4 drinks you're already at $100 and no food or table in sight. Hostess seems powerless to move people in and out and get tables cleared. Male bartender with baseball hat seems tired and uninspired with drinks and taking orders. Female bartenders engage much better. We left and went to Changing Times, immediately seated, great drinks and food served. Received a messages from Costal at 9:08 that are table was finally ready, (we were almost done with dinner by the time they called) Anthony T (owner): To clarify the price of the drinks on a menu aren't $25 per, however when you throw tax and tips on top of the drinks, (have to tip the bartender) it quickly adds up. Not the end of the world, however it adds to the frustration of not being seated until 9:15pm (if we stayed). We walked in to Coastal that night right before 7pm. Coastal: I really tried to like you and I'm sure the food is still top notch if and when you can get to an actual table. See how Restoration, Karvers, 317 Main do it. Be better. Anthony T (owner): 5 stars on visit number 1 - agreed. Visit # 2 as I said that's a policy that needs to be addressed. # 3 I get events but then tell us we're not taking any more reservations for the night until after they're done. Don't waste people's time if you can't turn the tables. Other restaurants still have large parties and events, can turn tables and get people in and out. This is why it came down to 2 stars. As I stated the food is top notch but if you can't get it or a table, it kills the overall experience.

Yelp
Cocktails are expertly crafted, atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, and occasional live music make this place a perfect spot to hang out with friends! Enjoy the good vibes at Coastal!

Yelp
Sexual harassment do not go here bouncers ripped clothes off women and the management stands up for them. Do not go here I repeat stay away all women!!!!'

Randy B.

Yelp
The bouncers are unnecessarily rough, they threw my fiancee to the ground 2 times and exposed her breasts to a crowd tearing her shirt and bra in half. We will be filing a police report and pressing charges.

Yelp
I was browsing Instagram one day and came across a little video from this restaurant. Since we're always on the hunt for good Latin food, we decided to give this place a try. We've been there several times now since that first dinner and have always enjoyed it. They have a great selection of drinks, and though their food menu isn't the biggest, everything we've had has been delicious, and there is an interesting mix of big and small dishes. I will say we weren't as thrilled with the winter menu as the one we got used to in the summer, but everything still tasted great. I definitely say give it a try for a fun atmosphere and good cuisine!

Yelp
Coastal Kitchen and Daiquiri Bar offers travel-inspired cuisine in a fun, friendly, and rustic atmosphere. Offering an array of great quality food of the Caribbean. You can find yourself diving into their amazing menu which offers anywhere from wings, tostones, and even ramen! Yes ramen!. I started my food journey at Coast Kitchen with their famous Roasted Jerk Chicken wings. I was a little disappointed on how they roast their wings, I was expecting a little jerk flavoring but the juicy all white meat chicken, and all off the bone wing was definitely paired perfectly with their house yogurt sauce. If you like your wings, I would recommend their flats! Moving onto their signature Poke Bowl. It was my second experience trying a poke bowl in general and boy was I impressed by the portion! I'm a guy with the middle name "FOOD" and trust me, they do not disappoint. Mouth watering diced ahi tuna, generous amount of avocado, chopped mangos, yakatori, some healthy vegetables, their amazing spicy aioli with rice and scallions! My mouth was taken on a journey to the south coast! 10/10 highly recommend. My friend ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen. He loves his ramen and especially ramen that's packed with flavor and a little kick. Braised pork belly, happy noodle, bonito rame, miso dashi pork, mouth watering soy cured egg, some bok choy, radish and scallions. Late November, when the weather is 40 degrees, yeah highly recommend for those looking to clear out your sinuses! But what's all this food without a little extra right? We would highly recommend trying their signature rum punch! Helps balance all of the sweet and savory. Our waiter Liam was phenomenal, despite it being very busy he ensured our food came out hot and fresh. Thank you for an amazing dinner experience.

Yelp
I love the ambiance today I had a rum punch my favorite drink you can only get 2 the food is delicious. The service is amazing. I call the bartenders animal kingdom those are my guys

Yelp
Came here for the first time. The ambiance is cool if you're into the rustic look. the bar was full so i opted for a table in the rear. ordered the beet salad with jerk chicken. it was very good. the drinks are decent as well. my 3 star vote is due to the lack of control the servers have over other patrons. a group of pirates walked in (they were very loud but thats typical of pirates) and they hovered over the table that I occupied. Im in the middle of eating when they decide to order food from the bar and use my table to as if it was theirs. Not one time did my server (named Liston P) do or say anything. One of the pirates in the group noticed what was going on and apologized for the lack of consideration. There was also a guy with a shirt that said SECURITY on it, but he was at the bar too busy socializing. I would like to retun but I think Ill go to another local place to enjoy food without having my table hijacked

Yelp
Coastal Kitchen and Daiquiri Bar is a charming spot with a cozy ambiance. The low lighting creates an intimate and private atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing evening. The food was delicious, especially the quesadilla and nachos which were phenomenal. Although it was a bit disappointing to be charged extra for small sauces, overall, the experience was enjoyable. I would love to visit again on a busier night to see the place come alive.

Yelp
Server Kayla was friendly but dropped the bill without asking if we wanted coffee or dessert. She had to take the bill back to add dessert, the key lime pie onto it. Then she dropped off bill under some napkins while we were still eating dessert without us asking it we wanted the bill. Overall the food was tasty. The Key lime pie had a very subtle flavor more creamy than tart taste. The toasted marshmallows on top may have thrown off the flavor. The check clearly states on that the calculated tip is based on food price AND including taxes. This is a no-no, tip should not be based on taxes, just food price. As a person who works with computers it's easy to change the program so that tip suggestions is based on food prices only. Also it starts at 18% instead of 15%.

Yelp
Super cute place located in downtown Bay Shore. Cool vibes here with high ceilings giving off the feel of an industrial city spot but with influences of coastal ambience. We were lucky that they had live music the afternoon we visited helping to create a welcoming atmosphere. The food was pretty good - definitely something for everyone, vegan/vegetarian and meat eaters alike which is important when the hubs and I go out as I don't eat meat but he loves a good burger from time to time. Service was friendly and helpful as well, our waiter was nice and efficient. I would definitely come back again - they also have a great drink menu. I opted for the house made soda which was very refreshing. Thanks Coastal Kitchen!

Yelp
A great mid priced restaurant with a great bar and some outside seating. Inside are all high top tables which were very comfortable. Was looking for a restaurant that had some good vegetarian options and decided to go here and walk around the village afterwards. Service was attentive, food was delicious. Was a little surprised that their only dessert was key lime pie, but it was tasty. Has a very nice menu. Parking lot in the back with meters and street parking.

Yelp
10/10 always, music is great. Service is fantastic, Emily and Isaiah mix up the best drinks and are so hospitable. A gem in bayshore

Yelp
A friend and I were strolling Main Street when Coastal's sunny vibes and fun feel caught our attention. It was packed on a Sunday afternoon, but we waited a quick 20 minutes and explored nearby shops while doing so. When we sat at our table, we enjoyed fruity mocktails -- a mojito and a watermelon cooler -- and scanned the menu. Everything sounded delicious! We split the jerk chicken quesadilla and shrimp tacos and they hit the spot. Both dishes were flavorful and the perfect portion, but the shrimp tacos were our favorite -- they had a tasty kick. Our waiter was friendly, as was the rest of the staff, and we saw two dart boards and a few TVs in the back of the restaurant. Definitely a lively spot! 5/5 stars all the way. Would totally go back!

Yelp
I'd go 3.5 stars if the Yelp people allowed. Pros: large, indoor/outdoor, good menu variety, not overly expensive. Got a table without a reservation on a Friday evening. The tuna tostada was very good and the fish tacos were respectable. Cons: very loud and can get crowded with lots of people standing by bar. The steak pincho featured meat that was very chewy - to the point my jaw felt like it had a workout.

Yelp
Coastal is such a great time. I've normally went for drinks, but the last time we went, we ordered food. Each time we've sat at the bar, and the service has always been great. We ordered the Jerk Chicken Quesadilla which was delicious and packed with flavor. We also ordered a side of fries which were also very good. My favorite part is that a vodka soda is $10, compared to multiple bars on Main Street who charge $18, ridiculous. It's a great atmosphere, they have table top shuffle board and darts. They always have a ton of people in and out at all times of the day. At night, they have great music playing and it's a good crowd hanging out. It's definitely a great spot to try.

Yelp
The bartender heard my order wrong, when I confirmed she gave me a nasty attitude. I closed out immediately. If you don't like bartending or dealing with customers there are other career options for you.

Yelp
Great time, as always. Love coming here for great food and good company. Try to get a space at the bar. Always fun to watch special drinks be made

Yelp
Entering through the back door and immediately hit with a damp, musty smell that this former Chef and restaurant professional knows all too well, yuk. Onto the birthday dinner, high tops with the seating choice of hard wood bench or even harder (if you can imagine) and 500 lbs wood chair. Ugh... my poor hip only last 45 min on really hard surfaces, oh well - this will keep us from lingering and ordering too much. The menus while interesting, were a turn off due to the dirty but original brass covers. Mine was bent and my wife almost cut herself on it when handling it back to the server. Service was good, bright and bubbly on a sunny evening. Food was surprisingly pleasant with a tasty but too soggy for a beef quesadilla, and a tuna pokey that featured inconsistent tuna chunks blended with Sinu from a non-ahi grade piece of tuna. The mains were also flavorful with two Cubans, also soggy from a pulled rather than sliced pork, but enjoyed by both. Two skewers of beef and shrimp : they seemed to be lacking flavor or dipping sauce. And very dry tacos. With the pain radiating from the hard stools we exited without dessert or fanfare. Get cushions for the bench or the barstools and maybe will return for one more ride.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about Coastal. I have been here a few times on holidays and just for a lunch date with my boyfriend. Every time I'm here the service is fantastic and the food/drink is some of the best I've had in the area. The drinks are well crafted where you can enjoy the unique flavors and still taste/enjoy the alcohol, my favorite was the specialty margaritas. The food is rich and prepared perfectly. I highly recommend the kimchi fried rice, the crispy Brussels sprouts, the oaxacan steak sandwich. The staff were knowledgeable about the menus and friendly. Emily is a great bartender and John the manager was very helpful when I needed specifics about the food ingredients because of my allergies. They are always busy and draw a large crowd but staff is good at making you feel important with quick service. would highly recommend this unique spot!

Yelp
Our experience at Coastal kitchen was top notch. The decor is so interesting. The staff amazing...especially Kayla. She was so personable and attentive. The food was amazing. Steak done at exactly the temperature we wanted. Great vibe! We will definitely return.
google avatar

Nancy C.

Yelp
The vibe was fun but I'd pass on the food. My friend ordered fish tacos they smelt really fishy & had to be sent back & the nachos were dry ect... it's a fun bar atmosphere though & they had a live band that was very good

Alexa S.

Yelp
Food was absolutely amazing-highly recommend the poke bowl. Service was so attentive--the manager even checked to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Drinks are awesome-loved the margarita! Can't wait to go back again!

Kathy T.

Yelp
Was at Coastal last night and the food and service was impeccable. We were greeted right away and the staff were very attentive. They have a nice atmosphere including fun games in the back. I had the shrimp tacos and my husband had the steak sandwich, they were both amazing. The manager came to check on us about halfway through the meal and was super friendly. 100% recommend coastal if you're looking for a good, reasonably priced meal with good atmosphere.

Yelp
As a Long Island native had to try Coastal Kitchen! The mac and cheese was so cheesy and a must for your next visit! The service was great, and there's lots of low lighting to really set the mood. On a weekend you can catch this place PACKED for drinks/brunch! Check them out! Visit my food page on Instagram @hotgirlfoodies for more!

Barb M.

Yelp
I was at Coastal during the shop local weekend after Thanksgiving. My overall experience was great. Sat at the bar was promptly greeted. I did not drink that day but my friend did and she said her drinks were delicious. My favorite is the Kimchi Fried Rice. Always delicious. Have tried a few dishes so far and have not been disappointed. The staff was very attentive and pleasant. Will be going back soon to try something new.

Ed M.

Yelp
i recently eat at coastal with a friend and had a great experience. i have been to Coastal many times before and the service and food is always very good. I enjoy that the foods they offer have a different flair than many others. the food is always hot and the servings are great. I will definetly be back.

Yelp
Coastal is such a cool, different vibe! Makes you feel like you're not at home. The food and drinks have been fresh and delicious. Personal favorites are the spicy margarita, steak kabobs and fried tostones. Service has always been friendly, helpful and quick. Bartenders are also top notch!
google avatar

Sunita H.

Yelp
Great restaurant, such a wide variety of rum and great cocktails. I love the chicken skewers and the seafood was great too. If you don't like rowdy crowds this place is not for you. But it it fun and lively.
google avatar

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about Coastal. I could eat here every day! Atmosphere is fun, loud, and a good time. Food is so flavorful! The staff is always friendly and helpful. They keep the drinks coming!

Yelp
Taking a step back to April is where we'll be "coasting" over the next few paragraphs. If you're willing to hear about an interesting evening at Coastal Kitchen, then stick with me. Otherwise take my word for it that this place is probably worthy of a meal... ...still with me? Great. Well before I can even mention anything about Coastal itself, we (my fiancée and another couple) almost didn't even eat here on that mid-April Saturday due to a live band playing which took up half the restaurant. Despite calling a few days in advance to hear an employee say we shouldn't have a problem with a table/wait, we ended up needing to hang around for about 45 minutes before we sat. Luckily, Bay Shore has plenty of places to grab a drink and kill some time. Technically, Bay Shore has plenty of places to eat besides Coastal Kitchen, but nothing jumped out at us and so we waited til we got the call and sat amongst a sardined crowd of humans listening to the band and enjoying their Saturday night. At least the music was good because conversation was pretty tough all evening. What wasn't difficult was choosing a drink. CK has plenty of island-type cocktails to choose from, though their beer list was where I gravitated as they feature an exclusive collab brew with Bay Shore's own DUBCO. A milkshake IPA brewed with vanilla and a few fruits truly hit the spot. Other spots that were, um, spot on would include the Caribbean-flared menu of food options. None of us necessarily went hard with anything in this realm, but plenty of items sounded delicious. I can at least vouch for tastiness through our nachos appetizer. Shredded chicken could be found way at the bottom of this pile of tasty toppings with a myriad of flavorful flavors coming through above it. For the main course, the lady dined on a trio of birria tacos (succulent beef and a glorious birria broth) while I tackled the fried chicken sandwich (juicy meat with some zings of sweet heat from the spicy mango slaw and tropical bbq sauce). Things came together to at least give us some positive tastes even if our hearing/conversing was rather limited. Overall, I'll give Coastal Kitchen the benefit of the doubt as most of this "interesting" evening was due to the band and would've made the experience a little more positive had there not been one (I like live music, but c'mon). Service and pricing were reasonable and so I'll knock up a 3.5 star review to the 4 stars I'm sure this place can reach on an average night. Fingers crossed I'll return sometime soon to coast through a delicious meal without the wait (or the additional sound).
google avatar

M S.

Yelp
I stopped in for lunch and ordered a BEET salad ( see picture for how few beets were included)!! I told the waitress and I received more ...but....what they thought was acceptable was not-the whole salad was weak-the ice tea was fine and the Tostones good-so maybe you should go there-the bar scene looked cool-so maybe next time I'll get a drink at the bar if I'm in the neighborhood-but I went out of my way to go here due to the eclectic menu choices I saw mentioned liked vegetarian bao buns which they didn't have-so it was ok -maybe I ordered wrong. My waiter was very nice though.

Joe Y.

Yelp
Coastal really dropped the ball... the last two times I was at coastal it took near 15 mins to get a beverage... they definitely need to add in an additional bartender... also maybe the Manager John and the staff should cut back on the drinking during shift... pretty much the only Bayshore bar/restaurant with blacked out staff... the sister store American Standard is closing because of poor management and plummeting sales... hopefully coastal can get it together before the same thing happens. Time for a revamp and a New manager ? maybe a more suitable staff ? Other than that coastal is still a great place to grab lunch and play darts!
google avatar

Lu P.

Yelp
Food was tasty. Ordered wings and lobster quesadillas for appetizers followed by burgers, sandwiches and jerk salmon. Food came out fresh despite the hectic time of day our family visited. Drinks need some work as it was a bit watered down but other than that the experience was good

Lia F.

Yelp
Drinks were really good, food was good they have a lot of gluten free options! Reasonably priced. Only thing service was not the best and I visited during the week and it wasn't busy. Very dark in the restaurant at night time.
google avatar

Isabelle L.

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday night with my boyfriend for drinks and apps. We ended up sitting at the bar because it was available before a table. For drinks, we ordered a Mojito and the Painkiller which were both incredible flavor wise and presentation. For food, I ordered the Poke Bowl and my boyfriend got the steak and pork pinchos. We were happy with both and look forward to coming back again. Great experience overall!
google avatar

Alannah T.

Yelp
I have to admit that I was a little bit disappointed coming here! Idk if anyone else is like me but I usually look up the menu before going somewhere because if I don't see anything I like on it, then there is no point in me going lol. Needless to say I really wanted the Brussels sprouts salad but when I arrived I guess they had updated their menu and it was no longer available! A little upsetting so hoping they update their online menu accordingly to avoid confusion in the future lol. Otherwise the guac and chips were delicious! I will say the sweet plantains were not my favorite, I think they should think about cutting them a little thinner so they're not so dry on the inside. I did ask for extra crema since the plantains were so dry and they ended up charging me an extra dollar for it... kind of ridiculous if you ask me. I think the ambiance is nice, and I might be back in a different season when they change their menu again and I can finally try the Brussels sprouts salad lol
google avatar

Kelly O.

Yelp
Food was just okay. Did not enjoy any of the cocktails - everyone at the table agreed each signature drink (we all ordered something different) had a heavy dose of a sour element that made them borderline nauseating. Stick with a beer or something canned. Cute interior, the games are entertaining.

A G.

Yelp
The food here was very delicious ! I got the birria quesadilla and my partner got the steak sandwich. The food was very fresh , high quality and priced very well. The wait staff was friendly and kind. We came here on a Saturday morning and the bar was packed ! Not sure if they had a brunch special or beer special. The drinks were good too but just on the sweeter side. I feel like this place is a go to in the summer time as it has Latin inspirations and Caribbean drinks. I would have given this experience 5 stars but the bartender was a little pretentious. He acted like he was too cool for school and almost didn't want to be there. He was not friendly or inviting. Which is surprising because everyone else was. My partners bread on the steak sandwich was also burnt on the bottom so badly that we had to scrape it off. Again if the bartender ( we ate at the bar ) was a bit nicer we would have said something but he seemed that he would have made a smug remark if we said anything so we made do with the food. I will be back again but maybe steer clear from the bartender

Yelp
Stopped by here spontaneously and I do not regret it! Ordered the Calypso Shrimp Bowl and it tasted amazing, great quality coconut curry. The vibe of the place was very vibrant as well, will definitely be returning!

Yelp
40 minutes to get our drinks (2), onenodnehichbis. Premade drink. All While refills were Flowing at the bar (6 people at the bar). Whether understaffed or not, that's a long time and bar wasn't crazy. Restaurant wasn't crowded (as the manager later proclaimed). I asked multiple times and still took 40 minutes, which brought us almost to happy hour (we were charged full price). When I mentioned to people walking in that if they're in a rush, better try somewhere else, the manager immediately intervened "oh we're in the middle of a health inspection in the kitchen and we're busier than normal." Ps- the kitchen is not the bar... He never came over to us while we waited, only to keep new customer . No one said a word to us. No comp on the bill either for the ridiculous wait, which would seem a good gesture at the very least (or to honor the happy hour prices). Went the food came (literally an hour on the dot to when we arrived), it was good and hot.

Yelp
Coastal Kitchen is a very nice place for cocktails and food. This was my first time here and I thought it was very good. I had a Passion Fruit Daiquiri and the Fried Pork Bun. Both were very delicious! I wish I had ordered three pork buns. You have the option of ordering two or three. Yummy. The sauce was nice Andy sausage was yummy. I was expecting Chinese sausage but it really wasn't that kind of sausage. Nevertheless, it was tasty and I would order again. Other things ordered from our group: Rum Punch, Blackberry Daiquiri, a Smash, Zippies and all sorts of drinks I don't recall. Food ordered was Korean barbecue sandwich, quesadillas, nachos and a fish dish. Everyone seemed very happy with their food too. At first waiter, Liston, was great! Our second waitress I didn't get to know but she seemed to be very attentive to our small group and everyone was happy with their appetizers, entrées and drinks. So, all around, I would say it was a very positive experience, I would recommend and come back again. Oh, and the live music was great.

Yelp
Went here for dinner on a Tuesday night and it was amazing. Enough people to not feel awkward but not too many people to where the service was slow. Sat down right away with both inside and outside tables available. We chose to sit inside but right by the doors to get the fresh air. Had a great Caribbean vibe to it. Felt like you were eating in a well kept shack in the Caribbean and the menu reflected the Caribbean feel as well. Many tropical drinks and dishes available. Food was excellent. It came out quick and we were out of there in an hour. Overall great experience and a great place for a night out in Bay Shore!

Yelp
Came here earlier in the week and the service was extremely slow. We were lucky if our server came over more than once every 25 minutes for a weekday lunch. Nachos were just okay with the chicken tasting a little dry. Steak tacos were small for their price. The food was okay but not worth the price. Went out in bay shore with friends that I was 5 or so minutes behind. Bouncer denied my entry saying that "everyone is getting kicked out" even though 7 others were let in shortly before. Tried being polite to the bouncer but we all had to end up going to another bar. What was interesting is that we walked by 50 minutes later and people were still inside. Listing the closing time as 3 am when you're denying entry at 1:30 feels like false advertisement. Would be hard to recommend Coastal Kitchen when looking for a place to eat or go out.

Yelp
If you're in Suffolk and don't mind heading to the Bayshore area, you should most definitely check out Coastal Kitchen! Cole is exactly what it sounds like it gives a beachy feel and transports me back to being in the Caribbean every time I'm there. Not in the sense that it's overly decorated with Caribbean concepts or decor, but more so just the vibe and how chill it is inside. Additionally, many drinks are named after true authentic Caribbean drinks and taste exactly like them! It pays homage to drinks like the soggy dollar painkiller if you've ever been to the Virgin Islands IYKYK. The service here is great everyone's always very friendly and kind and you don't have to wait too long to be served or seated . Overall coastal kitchen is just one of those spots you can head to after work after a long day or just kind of chill and vibe out with friends or even by yourself. Definitely make sure to try their nachos, their pinchos, and all of their drinks.
