The 20 Best Restaurants In Amsterdam - Amsterdam - The Infatuation

"It’s not easy to find many taco spots, let alone good ones, in Amsterdam. Case in point: Coba. You will have to venture out a bit further and cross the river Ij on a 10-minute subway ride from Station Centraal, but the daily-changing menu with things like an oyster tostada and soft shell crab taco alone is worth it. Come here with three to four other friends and order everything, then settle into the low stools and soak in the abundance of agave plants and groups sipping on small glasses of mezcal and beer. Follow suit and sample something from the extensive list of agave spirits that also includes things like sotol, bacanora, and raicilla before taking a short walk and hopping on the free ferry back instead of the train." - paolo espanola

"Take the stairs to the third floor of this unobtrusive warehouse (you'll need to ring the bell in the evening) to discover this rather rugged yet inviting restaurant with its splendid view over the IJ River. Benny Blisto sets great store by the origin of his ingredients, be it a carrot or ray wing. Locally sourced, seasonal produce is the inspiration behind his creativity. For instance, with slightly tart rhubarb and an exquisite beetroot sauce, he elevates a venison fillet to new heights. An exciting dining experience is guaranteed!" - Michelin Inspector

On our last visit to Amsterdam, we went to Coba in the north, on the recommendation of local friends who knew about my love of tacos and margaritas. The weather was beautiful, and we sat outside (make a reservation online). The tequila and mezcal selection was catchy, the tacos were well thought& satisfying. The atmosphere was cool and local with a sexy feeling. The colors of the place might have won me over even more😉 Reviews have said the prices were expensive; According to what?. A carefully curated, cool, popular place that offers not only food&drinks but also an experience. How can a place like this be cheap these days? (Try checking prices online ahead) You can go to 'taco bell' kind of places instead. I loved it. I'd go again.

The food was good, but not for that price 😅 The quesadillas is something I can make myself for way less of the price. The flavor was good, but not that amazing that I want to come again just for that (specially because of the price, I feel is not worth it) I feel it needed a bit more flavor. The cocktails were really good and the services was also good. I really liked the interior, it looked authentic I would say :)

Google
Nice atmosphere and staff. Overpriced but we went into our meal prepared for this. The issue was the insanely small portion sizes, especially for their vegetarian offerings compared to the meat dishes we saw on other tables. Mexican has always been my favourite cuisine for how easy it is to make delicious, creative and nutritious vegetarian options. All of cobas offerings used the same mushroom based ingredients with small portions and no protein leaving us bored, unimpressed and very hungry after spending a small fortune.

The service at Coba was really nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was really delicious. There was no single meal which we didn't like. I'd recommend trying the cocktails too. 🍸

Safe to say, one of the best experiences I have had in Amsterdam for dinner. Every taco is so distinctly different and the flavours are complex and precise. Every ingredient makes sense. The drinks are amazing as well. It is pricey. But to be honest, if you are willing to spend a bit more, its completely worth it. The price you see if for 5 people. Its completely worth it. Amazing dinner.

Google
Food was very nice, the spicyness was perfect for me. The quesadilla was super! We ate at the bar and the connection the stuff made was very nice and friendly. The music good. We both had a cocktail that not really met our expectations. But the Mexican beer did the job. Staff very fast and hardworking so keep up the good work

Google
We really had a pleasant evening at Coba. Very friendly staff and quick service. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and it created a very nice atmosphere to dine. We tried several options and and enjoyed the taste and plating. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice evening out!

Google
If you are lover for nice Mexican authentic meal, this is not a place to go, tacos are coming cold, and extremely small. service is super kind but somehow over demanding, every 5 min coming to you starting to ask -do you wanna order something else? that was really wired experience, and doesn’t make you to enjoy your evening. Margaritas was amazing, but we never will return

Yelp
Love the atmosphere, the staff are edgy and cute. Really excited about a Mexican restaurant in Noord. Unfortunately, the tacos are weird. Not exactly yummy weird. I had the crab taco, which was charred with squid ink. It could have been deep fried flour for all I knew, the softshell crab was scorched to oblivion. The hot sauce with the tang of char made for a really intense little taco. Just didn't enjoy it very much. The mushroom tostada was also very salty. Overall the menu felt very masculine - heat, salt, char, acidic. The little tacos pack a punch that lack nuance. A bit pretentious. Perhaps the rest of the menu was good. Natural wines OK, the one recommended to me was like apple cider vinegar in a glass. Expensive, but the atmosphere makes for a good experience.

Yelp
Incredibly rude staff. We arrived here to eat dinner and were told in a disrespectful tone that they were "fully booked" despite at least 20 open spots in the restaurant. I've never been treated this way in any country by the host. Very disappointing.

Yelp
This is a proper taco place serving delicious food from a different planet. Quality is so high that any other taco experience will disappoint me for sure. God bless this gem!

Yelp
Probably the only time I have eaten decent Mexican food in Amsterdam - absolutely excellent. It is almost impossible to find good Mexican food in This city and after 4 years here trying every Mexican place, this is the best one by a clear mile
