The good stuff first: My server was prompt, polite, and kept us in the loop on how our food was going. The greeter (manager? owner?) was welcoming and brought us to a table quickly and was very pleasant. The food was also fine for what I'd expect at a barbecue or food truck.
The less than great stuff: It took our food like 40 - 45 minutes to come out. That's a long time after you've put in your order, gotten your drinks, etc. Our waiter was decent enough to apologize, twice, to us, so credit is due there. But honestly, for a shrimp po' boy, two fish tacos, a hot dog wrapped in cheese (kids menu), and a cheese quesadilla (kids menu) it should not take that long to get one's food. The place had a decent amount of people, but most of them were drinking, not eating.
And a shrimp po' boy, two fish tacos, a cheese dog, and a quesadilla, an order of fries, plus one fruit punch and a large bottle of water cost $75 without tip. Read that again. I get that it's NYC and this is in Seaport, but this was food truck caliber food at best (presentation: Everything arrived in individual cardboard trays). In fact, the kitchen structure of this boardwalk bistro is like a literal food truck.
After tip it all came out to like $85+, for the above.
Coupled with how long we waited, if it wasn't for the solid waiter and the fact that the food was decent, I would say I was extremely disappointed. But it's a nice place with a solid atmosphere and a good staff. I recommend going there to relax and have a cocktail by the water, but only order food if you're not starving and it's more like bar food for you to accompany your drinks. We went for dinner, so that was our problem.
I would not go back for dinner again.
