"We wouldn’t go out of our way to grab a drink at Cobble Fish, but we're glad it exists. This place is essentially a fenced-off section of Pier 16 with seating, sandwiched between decommissioned museum boats and tourists queued up to board the Circle Line. If you’re in the neighborhood and in dire biological need of some outdoor time, you could do a lot worse than these views of the East River. The seafood is expensive (and no, it’s not exactly caught right off the dock—which is probably for the best, given the body of water in question), but it’s better than adequate, and the crowd is lively and happy to be there. If you work nearby, this is a solid place to steer your team for a warm-weather Happy Hour. photo credit: Molly Fitzpatrick Food Rundown Baja Fish Tacos We were pleasantly surprised by the volume of fresh ingredients (red cabbage slaw, tomato, onion, and cilantro) on these tacos, as well as the crispy breaded tempura mahi. Far from life-changing, but not bad. Frozen Margarita An electric shade of blue, thanks to the addition of some curaçao. It’s not remotely the color of the water you’ll look out on while you sip, though it is, uncannily, an exact match for both the Cobble Fish staff uniforms and the upholstery on the couch cushions. On the plus side, it is not as sweet—and a whole lot stronger—than it looks." - Molly Fitzpatrick
