The 38 Best Restaurants in Hong Kong - Eater

"Johnson Ko started CoCo Espresso in Sheung Wan back in 2008, when the area was better known for its temples and cheap lunch spots, and a properly pulled espresso was scarcer than hen’s teeth. Having learned his craft in Australia, he was instrumental in introducing the now-ubiquitous Antipodean style to the city, and he now has several cafes dotted all over town, including a brand-new roastery. CoCo Espresso’s new flagship is a glorious, airy space that screams “lifestyle” — a far cry from the utilitarian space where it began — but staying true to its roots, it’s just a few steps away from the original shop. Perfect little cafe with lovely tasty non bitter coffee. Love the custom Kees Van Der Weston Spirit espresso machine. Perfect eye candy for those who love his machines.

I stopped by Coco Espresso for a quick coffee before meetings, and it turned out to be one of my favorite coffees in Hong Kong. The espresso tasted smooth with nutty aroma, not too acidic. The shop is small but cozy, and baristas look very serious about their coffee. Great place for a short break or takeaway.

The service was ok. The coffee wasn’t bad but nothing special. My avo toast with eggs tasted ‘off’ - unfortunately I couldn’t finish it after one bite.

Went to CoCo Espresso for a quick drink. It was alright, and the environment was generally friendly until I was asked to stay a bit quiet when I answered a call. The male barista came to ask me to be quiet while the 3-4 people around me spoke louder than me. I found him not very friendly. This is first time in my cafe life being asked to do that. I found it hilarious.

Yelp
The winner for the best latte I drank in Hong Kong was Coco Espresso. The latte was perfection. There was not even a hint of bitterness. The latte was sweet and had a perfect texture, smooth and rich, throughout the entire drink.
