Coco Espresso (Jervois Street)

I stopped by Coco Espresso for a quick coffee before meetings, and it turned out to be one of my favorite coffees in Hong Kong. The espresso tasted smooth with nutty aroma, not too acidic. The shop is small but cozy, and baristas look very serious about their coffee. Great place for a short break or takeaway.

The service was ok. The coffee wasn’t bad but nothing special. My avo toast with eggs tasted ‘off’ - unfortunately I couldn’t finish it after one bite.

Went to CoCo Espresso for a quick drink. It was alright, and the environment was generally friendly until I was asked to stay a bit quiet when I answered a call. The male barista came to ask me to be quiet while the 3-4 people around me spoke louder than me. I found him not very friendly. This is first time in my cafe life being asked to do that. I found it hilarious.

Although I can't drink coffee, I've been wanting to come here for a few months and I was finally able to come. I ordered a slice of cake and herbal tea and both were really good. It's a pretty small space but was packed. I noticed a few foreigners who looked like they were experts on coffee. For all you coffee lovers, I highly recommend this coffee shop!

Coco Espresso is one of the best coffee shop franchises in Hong Kong with a handful of branches spread around the Island including this place on Jervois Street. Opening hours are 7.30am to 6.30pm (weekdays) and 9.30am to 5.30pm (weekends). Decor is urban minimalist with a handful of wall and centre tables. You order at the counter, baristas are experienced and make nice espressos, black and white coffees. Espressos are rather citrusy. We like ordering Flat White with an extra shot here. The extra shot gives the drink a stronger flavour while the milk cuts the strong citrus and bitterness of the espresso, making a nicely balanced white coffee drink. They serve a small range of cakes and pastries. We recently had the banana walnut slice that was very good, soft and smooth texture, lovely banana and nutty flavour. This was very good. Overall, we like Coco Espresso, especially for the Flat White with double shot. They seem to really get this one right when we order here. Will happily continue to take coffees from this coffee shop on Jervois when in the area and in need of a cup.

Coco Expresso is located in a district full of boutique cafes. It surpasses the others by its very spacious sit-in area. Nicely air-conditioned. There are a few external seats for smoking customers too. Single bean varieties not too many but it has some very unique creations such as the nitrogen-filled Nitro-Coffee or the Tonic-Expresso. Not many cake choices but the carrot cake is cute and attractive.

The winner for the best latte I drank in Hong Kong was Coco Espresso. The latte was perfection. There was not even a hint of bitterness. The latte was sweet and had a perfect texture, smooth and rich, throughout the entire drink. Lovely little shop with great coffee. I had the Oatly flat white and avocado toast with scrambled eggs. Perfect meal and great quality.
