Coco Leaf - AKoKo Cafe Newbury

Great spot for smoothies, bubble tea and some sweet deserts. I had gotten the piña colada and the mangonada smoothies. Both were fantastic but very different at the same time. First of all it’s great that I can ask for less sugar to be added as I’m not too fond of super sweet drinks so that’s a plus, the piña colada is what you would expect it to taste like had great texture & was definitely one of my favorites. Now the mangonada was a Mexican style smoothie with mangos, which was sweet and sour but as you keep on drinking it, it starts to taste better so don’t be to surprised with the taste at the beginning. Overall great spot for when you are around newbury street.Great service as well.

My sister and I came upon this place because we were thirsty for a refreshing drink and we were not disappointed. Our boba Milk teas were both made well. We had the taro and the lavender one. We both enjoyed each for their unique tastes. Prices were also reasonable to be on Newbury Street.

Ahhh, I can't believe I hadn't heard about this place before they opened a handy-dandy, convenient little Newbury location! I'm so excited I wish I could come here every day. My partner and I are big fans of Asian desserts, and Vietnamese desserts are no exception -- we usually get the jelly/bean dessert drink every time we go out for pho and have talked about how nice it would be to just get that dessert and not have to pair it with noodle soup every time (although pho is excellent). Finally, our dreams have been answered! Coco leaf is amazing and offers an extensive menu of coffees, teas, juices, smoothies, and other fancy drinks, not to mention pastries such as macarons, cakes, cream puffs, and even mochi cake. However, it's their che that is really standout. A mixed drink/dessert of ice and jelly, it's so refreshing and incredible especially on hot, humid summer days under the unforgiving sun beating down on Newbury St. We got the halo halo with ube ice cream, chunks of taro, jackfruit, white bean, pandan jelly, and hot luu (a crunchy water chestnut boba-ish topping). While the ratios were a little on the sweet side for me (I wished there was more ice actually, and more beans!) I'm glad that they are very generous with the toppings and also really kind -- when we asked what hot luu was, they promptly offered us both an explanation and a sample. They also prepare their coffee with Intelligentsia beans, which are very high quality. Despite the brightness of Intelli coffee, however, they were still able to extract a really nice, roasty flavor that is typical of Vietnamese coffee. Their che costs around $5-8 and is big enough for two people to share. Definitely will be back often!

Stopped by today for a treat on the way home from running errands, and a treat it was! I ordered the Mango Passion Fruit Tea with Lychee Jelly. It was a little pricey, but it's also relatively large. The worker was friendly and had my drink ready in a snap. There are a number of tables, making it a good spot to enjoy a drink with friends.

Decent bubble tea, not everything I've dreamed of but it's good. The boba tends to form this huge blob on the bottom which I didn't like. Not only bubble tea there, so go explore! The place itself has an funky smell, but the service is good and there is space to sit down and indulge in your drink.

The best coffee!!! The most friendly people working there!!! Also if you like smoothies, they making it just delicious!!! I'm coming back soon!!!

Amazing café great coffee, tea's, and pastries. Amazingly nice staff way better than almost any café on Newbury Street! Cannot wait to come here again!!

Great Vietnamese desserts and boba! Probably one of my favorite boba places on Newbury. High quality for a reasonable price. Also some of the best, and strongest, coffee in Boston. Don’t skip out on the viet desserts! Seriously great in the summer.
