The 11 Best Bakeries In Nashville - Nashville - The Infatuation

"Cocorico isn’t just a bakery—it’s also a cafe with a mini-market of quiches, pasta, and local goods—but any place churning out classic French croissants and baguettes this excellent deserves a spot on this list. The owner is from France, which means your onion soup is as rich as Coco Chanel in her prime. The cucumber and arugula sandwich is one of the best sandwiches you can find in Nashville, thanks to a gussied-up goat cheese spread that’s blended with sun dried tomatoes, cream, herbs de provance, and honey. Sitting in the space with framed photos of Toulouse and mosaic tiles with that combo, plus one of their muffin-sized chocolate cakes, is the perfect lunch." - ann walczak, bailey freeman

The Hottest New Restaurants in Nashville, August 2024

"Owner Elodie Habert moved from Nantes, France to Nashville back in 2016, and quickly made her savory and sweet French pastries and treats a staple at various farmer’s markets and shops around town. Now, Cocorico has grown into its very own brick-and-mortar space in Midtown where you can find croissants in various flavors, sandwiches on crusty baguettes, madeleines, cakes, and quiches Tuesday through Saturday." - Kellie Walton, Eater Staff

Your almond croissants made it all the way to south Texas! We were fortunate enough to find your cafe and visit during our road trip :) Latte, almond croissants, pesto pasta salad chefs kiss We got to visit twice while in Nashville and sent other customers your way. I was thrilled to hear my daughter brought some baked goods on her flight back home. Often, we visit places we can go without ever revisiting. Not the case with Cocorico. Keep doing what you’re doing and always remember why you started in the first place. You’re doing great!

Google
I discovered Cocorico for the first time at the Nashville Farmers Market, and it instantly became my favorite spot for fresh, delicious French pastries. Their croissants are next-level—especially the warm ham and cheese, which is my absolute favorite. The Parisian sandwich is also incredible, full of flavor and perfectly balanced. I also love their parfaits, and the lunch formulas they offer are such a great way to sample a little bit of everything—they really showcase the best of what Cocorico does. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with a beautiful view that makes it an ideal place to enjoy a coffee or bite to eat. Plus, the free on-site parking is a huge bonus in Nashville! Highly recommend this gem of a bakery—Cocorico is truly something special!

Google
I appreciated thoughtful service at this place. The staff was friendly and attentive, which made our visit pleasant. While some of the food felt a bit commercial, the modern decor and attempt to capture the charm of a French café were noticeable. I did miss the inviting aroma of fresh pastries and bread, which would have added to the ambiance. Still, after a long drive, the French music playing in the background was a lovely touch.

Google
The best bakery in town. The staff is kind, generous, and incredibly professional. The owner truly loves her business and clients. My boyfriend and I go daily! We love Cocorico and the ham+cheese croissants!! Get the breakfast sandwich and tarts, you won’t regret it. :)

Google
I had the pleasure of finally taking a visit to Cocorico Bakery yesterday and let me tell you it did not disappoint! I got one of each flavor of croissant and got the Provençal baguette sandwich, so delicious!! I also got an iced vanilla latte which I thoroughly enjoyed. They have a wonderful cold case with some beautiful yogurt parfaits, quiche to go, amongst other items. Next time I can’t wait to try a different sandwich flavor and the French chocolate cake! I will be dreaming about those flaky, buttery, croissants until my next visit 😍

Google
Five stars all the way! Food is delicious and takes me back to Paris. The staff is perfectly charming and kind. You must dine in and soak up the sun while you percolate for the day!

Google
I have had Cocorico baked goods from the farmers market and it’s always been enjoyable. Now they have their own storefront. It’s a pleasant and joyful environment. The quality of the food is excellent and the owner (a French woman) is so kind and accommodating. She even spoke French to my friend who is learning and gave her tips/explained things. The food was amazing. Olde world style croissants, local ingredients, lots of delicious options, sandwiches (I had the G.O.A.T.), soup, etc. It’s nice to have someplace that’s of quality and authentic to the roots of these wonderful French foods we all enjoy.

I coordinated the company I work for’s International Women’s Day brunch. We wanted to go with a Nashville woman-owned business and Cocorico is close to our office! We had heard amazing things since it opened. I reached out via the catering form online and worked with the owner, Elodie, to come up with a spread that fit our needs and dietary restrictions. She was super helpful and kind. She arrived on time the morning of and setup went like a charm! The event was a huge hit and our team loved the food. There was nothing left by the end of lunch time! Food was fresh, healthy, filling and amazing quality. I’ve never had a better French cuisine experience than Cocorico! The fan favorites were the GOAT sandwich, salad bar, and the chocolate cake dessert. If you are looking to host an event and need a catering option that will stand out and please a crowd, then this is your place! Can’t wait to come by the bakery in person for a future lunch. Thank you again Elodie and Cocorico!

Yelp
Wow! All I can say is what an amazing experience. Coffee: 10/10 Macarons: 10/10 (especially the apple tatin) Service: 15/10!! The barista who waited on me, Sofia, was so kind and knowledgeable that I thought she was the owner! She made me feel very welcomed and was so knowledgeable about allergens in all of their pastry items, which is so important to me as I have celiac. Not to mention, she made one of the best lattes I've had in Nashville. If you're looking for a one of a kind French cafe experience, with a cozy ambiance, look no further than Cocorico.

Yelp
This is just first time impression. This review may be updated after future visits. I only ordered ice chai latte with a warmed up Croissant. The chai was on the sweet sugary side and the Croissant was decent. The place feels like a wanna be French Bakery place which is not. Sorry, it's just an imitation. In addition the seats arrangement is pretty uncomfortable during pick time. If you're trying to find a quiet and discreet place to relax, this place can be a hit or miss.

Yelp
Cocorico in midtown is small Parisian cafe that offers an array of donuts, sandwiches and galette which are baked fresh, daily! The cocorico team is very friendly and I love the decor. They also have free parking which is validated! I've tried the chocolate croissant, Tomato Galette and the ham & camembert sandwich. The chocolatine or the chocolate croissant was delicious - it was flaky, buttery ad savory with a piece of chocolate at the center adding sweet and bitter notes. The croissant were a delight to eat and they were my favorites! The galette was filled with tomatoes and herb, although it tasted alright, they were served cold! I suppose if it was warm, it definitely would've tasted much nicer. The ham and camembert sandwich was pre-assembled. The baguette was a little more chewier than the baguettes that the ones I've had in the past. Nevertheless the ham and cheese sandwich was quite good. The slightly smoky ham and the savory soft cheese tasted quite good when paired together. The croissants were a star and Cocorico is worth a visit.

Yelp
This is my second time coming to cocorico and I have very mixed feelings. The second time I visited was at the one year anniversary celebration. I do commend the staff on moving customers in and out quickly and it was very organized considering the crowd. The three stars is just because the environment almost seemed like it was made for a particular click in the community. I understand loyal customers and people become familiar with one another but in the end we are all paying for the same experience. While standing in the crepe line the lady in front of me was able to order a crepe without paying for it prior to receiving it. It seemed like this was allowed because she was friends with the staff. Secondly, as I stepped forward to order my crepes the young lady making the crepes proceeded to carry on a conversation with the customer standing directly behind me as though I was not even there. On top of that, I received one crepe freshly made off of the grittle and one crepe that had been rewarmed after for about 5 minutes on a paper plate. All in all I would only return for an almond croissant to-go.

Yelp
A very cute spot for anyone who works in Midtown to grab breakfast or lunch! There is a parking garage right next door where you can park for free for 30 mins, or you can get your parking validated if you're staying! I've tried a croissant and a baguette sandwich here, and I thought they were both good, but dry. The people here are so nice though, and I'm going to keep coming back and trying new things!
google avatar

Joanna B.

Yelp
Best coffee I've had in a long time! The shop is so sweet and spacious. You can park in the garage for 30 mins free or 90 mins validated free.

Yelp
This was one of the cutest little spots to stop into. I loved that there was free parking for up to 90 minutes, as well as an outdoor space if I wanted to sit outdoors. I came in for a Yelp event to try a chocolate croissant for the first time. It was AMAZING. I was in France earlier in the year and it tasted just as good as the ones I had there. Everyone was so nice and friendly, and I loved that indoors had plenty of seating to grab a small bite and work remotely a little bit. I'll absolutely be back.

Yelp
Tried this gem yesterday. I liked how it was like a cozy nook. Parking was not great, I couldn't get the website to to pay due to the service in the area so I couldn't sit down to eat. The croissant was yummy and very large. They gave me a strawberry honey jam to spread on it, which made it really better. I would've liked it to be warmed up just a little bit, it was more so cooler than room temperature. I also tried the Tennessee peach bread pudding. I was super excited because I enjoy eating bread pudding. But this one the consistency was off for me. I noticed that it said it had eggs in it, but it was more like a quiche because the eggs were , baked or scrambled into the bread pudding so there was layers of eggs inside of it. Considering that it had eggs in it, I was surprised that it was cold, and I mean, like just pulled out of the refrigerator after being in there all night cold. So, the bread pudding was a no for me. I enjoy that this place sold local TN/ Nashville products.

Yelp
Came here and the bread is amazing. Highly recommend the baguette sandwiches. Tried all three we loved them.

Yelp
Ah, Cocorico, how you have become a favorite hidden gem in the middle of Midtown! Cocorico is a small French bakery offering up delicious pastries, croissants, sandwiches, snacks and of course, coffee. Located directly across from the Division Street Loop and the famous Musica statue, Cocorico is a quaint, bright and welcoming spot to grab a cup of coffee and relax, or pick up a pastry and hit the streets of midtown. Service was phenomenal. The staff was friendly and helpful from entry to exit. What was even better than the service? The chocolate croissant. Flaky yet fluffy with just the right amount of chocolate throughout. While the chocolate croissant was all for me, I did get my partner the almond croissant, and it received rave reviews as well! Due to the location, parking may seem daunting, but don't fret as they have you covered up to 90 minutes in the attached garage! Overall, super great find in Midtown! Happy to have ventured in and even happier knowing I can come back!

Yelp
I was introduced to this darling French café through a yelp event... and the ham and cheese croissant has been on my mind ever since. So I went back hoping it would be as great as I was holding it in my dreams... and I'm happy to report... two thumbs up! Trés bien! Of course I also had to grab a chocolate croissant as well :) It's worth figuring out the parking garage to enjoy a little bit of France in Music City! PS the parking is free!

Yelp
The best croissants in town! I've been visiting cocorico for years at the farmers market and I was delighted to see their brick and mortar come to life. Super cute space, easy parking in the parking garage (first 1.5 hours free!), and a lovely assortment of croissants, baked goods, refrigerated to-go meals, and all the coffee drinks you can think of. A wonderful little slice of France in the heart of midtown nashville.

Yelp
Finally had the chance to visit Cocorico! I have driven this roundabout plenty of times and over looked it. This time knowing where I was going- it was easy to spot along the road, especially the sign of in front of the parking lot. This lot gives you 30 minutes free. I walked through the building to come through the side door and was welcomes by the wonderous smells of fresh baked goods. (Note: I came in at 8 AM) I was able to order a chocolate croissant, the Quiche Lorraine and a vanilla latte with oat milk. All three items were delicious. There was tons of options available! The Quiche Lorraine was a delicious personal size of ham and eggs quiche, the latte was perfect and the chocolate croissant was flaky and fresh. The space itself was so cute with small tables inside and outside, there is a water station, a grab-n-go fridge and the glass case of what pastries are available.

Tori S.

Yelp
A cute cafe! I got a chai and a chocolate croissant, I would go back for the croissant and to try one of their Parisian style sandwiches. Quick service, nice spot to sit and relax while you eat.
google avatar

Megan M.

Yelp
This spot is SO charming and fun. Super clean and bright. I got a chocolate croissant and a French baguette to take home for dinner, but I was in awe of their sandwich selection, pasties, and desserts! The staff was kind and helpful. Also very impressed by the parking - the parking garage is clearly labeled with a Cocorico sign, and they validate your parking. It was a breeze getting in and out. I can't wait to go back for lunch one day!
google avatar

Yelp
Cocorico has quickly become one of my favorite places in Midtown. I've stopped by a few times - I most recently visited with a friend for croissants and coffee, and we had a lovely time! It's so nice that they validate parking at the garage next door - this is seriously a game changer for this bustling area of Nashville. I also love that Cocorico carries goods from other small local businesses like Summit Sisters coffee and Nashville Hot Sauce. The shop itself is beautiful and bright, with lovely French-inspired decor. The service is always friendly and fast. While I'm sure Cocorico gets quite busy on the weekend, I have yet to encounter a terribly long line on weekday mornings. My go-to is the ham and cheese croissant, although I'm always tempted by their other sweet treats. My friend ordered the almond croissant and loved it. Cocorico is a must-visit for locals and tourists alike looking to enjoy fresh-baked pastry in an adorable cafe. I can't wait to try their baguette sandwiches and their quiche on my next visit!

Yelp
Walked by and ventured in. We bought a ham & cheese croissant and a chocolate almond croissant. The H&C croissant was perfectly dark and crunchy (perfection) outside with perfect buttery flaky layer inside. The ham was delicious salt and the cheese cut in squares and not melty at all. I have saved the other for later. Ill take a picture of that one. The H&C disappeared too fast! All for now!

Yelp
A wonderful find. Only open three weeks, once the folks at ASCAP and Warners And BMi find it's in walking distance they're going to have to beat back the customers with a stick. Great croissants and coffee! One of the rare places to make a real ham and cheese savory croissant. Started by a couple of gals who've got time in France learning the ropes, they were selling so well at local street markets that they've moved up to the big time! Nice little place. Great staff. If you park in the building garage, they validate. This is going to be the biggest hit in Nashville that isn't in the music biz! - The Jazz Chef
google avatar

Kendall R.

Yelp
Wow this place is amazing!! The ham and cheese croissant is so delicious & the little chocolate cakes are insane!! That is the best chocolate cake I've ever had; I was truly scraping the bottom of the wrapper to get more. It Was so rich and the texture was perfect. There is also free 90 min parking in the garage attached to the building. They also played French music and just had the cutest decor!!

Yelp
I am so thrilled that this French bakery now has a permanent home on Demonbreun Circle! I've been a fan of their delicious baked goods, butter, and soups at the local Farmer's Markets around town, and am thrilled to be so close to their first brick and mortar location. The cafe had a soft opening last week and extended that to the public the first week of February, with their grand opening happening soon. I stopped in for some coffee and treats this morning and found it extremely easy to park in the building garage and it was a short walk to their location. They validate parking for 90 minutes which is a really nice perk and easy. The cafe has great sun and a lovely sitting area facing the circle. They offer delicious baked goods, baguettes, sandwiches, and local goodies in a frozen and refrigerated section. I grabbed a Parisian baguette with ham, brie, and butter on a baguette. It is the best I've ever had. The bread has the perfect texture; soft interior with no stale taste like other baguettes. I also grabbed a bag of flavored almonds and chocolatine pastry. They also have an espresso machine and made us a delicious iced oat milk latte. I can't recommend this warm, welcoming bakery & cafe enough!

Savanah G.

Yelp
This shop is in a busy area, parking easy to get. I came here close to closing time, service was pretty fast. I ordered a croissant and that was nice and fluffy, I would purchase it again. Ambiance isn't very warm feeling i would say. It's probably because there was two people in there so it didn't seem lively. Croissant, nice and fluffy Chai latte, I tossed it. It would probably appeal to others, personally not for me. I've had fresh brewed indian chai and this is not a good chai IMO Coffee was bitter, not a good roast

Yelp
During a search for a bread bakery, I stumbled across this quaint little shop. Lunch sandwiches made on French baguettes so very delicious and satisfying. Seasonal soup (mine was Butternut squash) with fresh toppings to warm you up. Knowledgeable and friendly staff to serve you. The perfect spot to share a meal with a friend with the bonus of fresh coffee and a chocolate filled croissant for dessert. Located just outside the bustle of Nashville with plenty of street parking.
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
Everything I had was phenomenal! I definitely plan on going back to get more soon. I forgot to ask them to toast the croissant however it was still so fresh and crispy on the outside in the perfect chew on the inside.
google avatar

Kathy P.

Yelp
Yum yum yum!! As someone who works on music row, I love taking a walk on my lunch break and stopping in this cute little cafe! Some days I just grab a coffee and a pastry, while other days I'll go for something more filling like a sandwich or quiche. Everything I've tried has been amazing, but my favorites so far are the Mediterranean quiche and chocolate croissant! Service is always super fast and very friendly and the space is always clean. I can't wait for my next visit!
google avatar

Yelp
Good was fresh and delicious service was quick parking is in a lot they give you 90 minutes which is nice.ambiance was enjoyable.

Yelp
Adorable bakery with the friendliest staff and the most delicious French goodies. Thrilled to have them in the neighborhood!

Yelp
Actually authentic French food! The owner is a delight and everyone is so kind! Definitely worth a trip!!!! Grab a baguette (they're vegan & delicious I love the slight sweetness) and walk around Midtown!
google avatar

Yelp
This is just the cutest little bakery. Today I tried the ham & cheese croissant and am pretty sure I tasted heaven. Also grabbed a Lorraine for the week I am a big fan of this savory breakfast delight. Thank you for the morning treats
google avatar

Yelp
Cocorico Bakery has easily become one of my favorite places in town. You truly feel like you are in France when you step into this bakery. The staff is so sweet and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! The chocolate croissants are amazing!

Yelp
Great food and great service! A little gem here in Nashville! I'm a flight attendant and always looking for a little place to feel like a person before working again and this place did not disappoint!

Raja R.

Yelp
Best French pastry/quiche I've had in the recent times! The croissant tasted like the one I've had in Belgium/France. Their sandwiches are also delicious!

Rose D.

Yelp
The cafe is absolutely darling and walk distance from many hotels. If your hotel-coffee is meh, go here. They do have easy to grab breakfasts, desserts, and fresh baked specialties. It hit the coffee-itch I had that morning. Perfect!

phil l.

Yelp
If you've ever been to an authentic French bakery, you'll be disappointed here. And if you've ever had a real croissant, you'll realize that what they offer are not that but just bland croissant-shaped mass-produced bread products, which makes them seriously overpriced. The quiches are also obviously prepackaged and reheated. We didn't see any other fresh breads. It's unclear if anything is actually baked on the premises. This is more like imitation French fast food but at tourist trap prices. You could get comparable products at a grocery store for much less.

Will H.

Yelp
Highly recommend! Family owned authentic French bakery with fantastic food and coffee.

Marilyn E.

Yelp
Yes, they have really good coffee and the best ham & cheese croissants! and service was lovely the ambience it was really comfy and cute

Kelli S.

Yelp
Was excited to try this place. It was ok, the chocolate croissant was fine but I could get the frozen ones from Trader Joe's and be just as satisfied. It's small not a lot of variety of baked goods considering they are saying they are a bakery. The coffee was fine. Worth going if you work near but that's it. I wouldn't got out of my way and park.
