Cocotte - Shoreditch - Review - London - The Infatuation

"Farm-to-table rotisserie restaurant Cocotte, is now delivering its free range chickens, soups, and salads. Order from their Shoreditch spot here. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Places To Enjoy The Roast Chicken Renaissance

"Where there is chicken, there must also be potatoes. That is just a fact of UK life, along with bad summer weather and accepting that you’ll turn into Hulk Hogan everytime you witness someone cut a queue. Cocotte understands this, as not only do they do ultimate chicken soul mate, baby potatoes, they’ve also got mashed potatoes, truffle mash, and fries available. A chilled all day restaurant in Hoxton Square, this place is all about juicy free-range chicken with their signature gravy, and they also do a quarter which makes it a rare find on the buzzing London whole-chicken scene. Yes, we just used the word ‘buzzing’ in relation to roast chicken. Sue us." - heidi lauth beasley

Our server (Cemre) was so lovely and accommodating! It was a little cold because the door was open. Also a l few more soft drink/ sweeter cocktail options would have been great but my friend & I still really enjoyed the experience. Will definitely be back!

Fantastic brunch. Simple dishes elevated to another level. Loved the oeuf cocette and was spoilt for choice as a vegetarian. Small criticism is that we would've preferred more choices of hot drinks with brunch but will be back!

I booked this restaurant for a birthday celebration for a table of 14. The staff were super accommodating. We were looked after really well. Most of my party really enjoyed their food. Mine was pretty nice, the nduza sauce is amazing! The bottomless package is good value and allows a group with different preferences as not everyone had to go for the same package. We had a great time!

Staff were great. Kind, and fun. Lunch meal deal was super, all the components of it were excellent. Nice remoulade and salad with avocado and walnut, good rotisserie.Wine pricing wasn't aggressive. Not too many other diners when we were there (Tuesday lunchtime) so the fact tables are really packed in hard didn't create any challenges with noise levels. Could be different on a weekend evening. We had a great meal and a lovely time. Definitely would go again.

Lovely little spot for brunch and lunch! went with a big group of friends (9 of us) really easy to get a reservation and the friendly staff offered a few different seating options for us. Service was great and the food was so delicious! Prices are so reasonable and the menu has so many lovely options. The sweet croissant waffle was delicious

My boss recommended Cocotte to me. Truffle chips is the best in my opinion, I love the smell, so good. We ordered half chicken with sides, broccoli and spicy mayo chicken wings (My friend's favourite), totally enough for us two people. Chicken is very tender and juicy, and the sauces are amazing. Drinks, Watermelon Margarita 🍉 is recommended by my boss and I think it's very good! Staffs are super friendly and nice.

We have ordered from here over five times and every time it is hit or miss. It seems there is a different chef every time or someone is not communicating regarding the standards. Ordered a main salad with extra chicken and they gave us a side salad with no chicken. The main ceasar which we also ordered was half full - the size of a side salad for a whopping £14 and the dressing wasn’t mixed in at all. you could tell it had been rushed. Spinach was stone cold too. Not good enough. It’s such a shame because when it’s good it’s very good but you really can’t predict what the standard will be.

Let's start with the positives... + Great friendly staff + Nice cosy atmosphere + Chicken is good - cooked well and tasty What brought it down for me is the overpriced starters and dessert. We tried the croquettes (you get 4 tiny croquettes and it's £9... they did not live up to the expectation vs price), and the Haloumi sticks which weren't haloumi sticks at all, but rather 4 slices of halloumi with a dressing...again £9. The biggest disappointment (especially given it was my birthday) was ordering the carrot cake which is priced at £6/7 and receiving a tiny cube which could fit in the palm of my hand. I wouldn't have minded as much if it tasted amazing, but it was so dry that it crumbled into dry crumbs as my spoon cut into it. In summary, great chicken, but the starters and desserts aren't worth it!
