One of, if not THE best, restaurant for food in Charleston. Had several courses and every single one was just amazing. The chef really knows what he's doing with flavor. It can be hard to get a reservation, but totally worth it!

My wife's birthday was expertly served by Angie. She's extremely knowledgeable and kind. Eric seated us at the window for a beautiful view. The oyster appetizer was innovative and delicious. The swordfish was tender and fresh. We had a memorable time and look forward to our next visit

Google
We had high expectations based on reviews and descriptions. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. Food was good, but not something what you have never tried as described in other reviews. It was also inconsistent. Even bread, when one order was great and another was mediocre. Besides, it was always a feeling that we have to finish as soon as possible since other customers are in line. My "favorite" part was that we were asked to place our order for appetizers and main dishes at the same time since it is "more convenient" for the chief...

Google
Nice Italian spot with good appetizers and yummy pastas. We had the wahoo crudo which was delicious but expensive for the small size). We tried all of the pastas (just didn’t get photos) and they were all excellent. Huge plus is they were able to accommodate a group of 8 in basically a semi-private section

You HAVE to go to this restaurant! Beautiful ambience and breathtaking view of the ocean from floor to almost ceiling windows. We had an amazing server who was proud of the restaurant and was very knowledgeable about the menu. He provided stellar service. We went for my husband's 26th birthday and although we went with a few dishes in mind we decided to be spontaneous and try the chef's tasting menu. It was incredible! Very exciting not knowing what's going to show up next. We got to try various types of fish and seafood and a decadent dessert. The one downside is that the portions are a bit small for the tasting but I could see from other tables that ordered straight off of the menu that any entree on the menu would be very filling. The food is pricey but I would say priced fairly. You definitely get what you pay for in terms of quality. Overall amazing night and delicious food. We WILL be going back again for sure.

Google
Words cannot explain how good the food is here. I have been to many up scale restaurants in my life and this is easily #1 on my list. Chef Ken Vedrinski puts on an absolute experience. Also, the atmosphere is warm, comfortable, and welcoming. We will be back, already planning another date night. Thank you for making our Anniversary a memorable one.

Google
The best Italian Restaurant in the US and oceanfront dining at it's finest. The Chef/Owner Ken Vedrinski beat Bobby Flay in a cook off. The bartender has an extensive knowledge of Italian wines and will help you make a good pairing. Many of the wines are exclusive to this restaurant.

Great authentic Italian inspired food. Delicious fish dishes made with the freshest ingredients. Craft cocktails very good and nice wine list. Wonderful atmosphere reminded me of restaurants in Italy. Attentive service also.

Yelp
Wow oh wow - and then again say it with me - wow oh wow This is italian food like few in SC have ever seen! You could be in the middle of Tuscany (Lucca specifically)! Menu is a home run - yes the choices are few, but get over it Food is beyond what I was thinking in almost every way - texture, layers of flavor, cooked to perfection, solid presentation, creative, and the base ingredients are to die for Service is tight and spot on Ambiance is friendly and casual chic Will go back time and time again Well done

Yelp
Let me say first of all, the ambiance is nice seeing the ocean but we had a large party which ended up facing the wall. Hate to say our service was just mediocre at best. When you are paying these prices the service should be excellent. But ours was not. Our waitress was very lukewarm in personality and her service reflected her attitude. The food was very good. The flounder bracole was delicious. Very unique app with pine nuts and raisins topped with a red sauce. I had the tagliatelle Nero with clams and my husband had the broken meatball with the wide like rigatoni. The pasta and broken meatball was very good. Unfortunately my tagliatelle was too salty. The others at our table enjoyed their entrees. Drinks were ok, could have been a little stronger. We ended our meal with desserts. My tiramisu cheesecake was tasty and the custard was lumpy. Unfortunately our evening was less than desirable by the over 22% tip added to our bill. I know this chef won the battle against Bobby Flay but his service needs some attention. Gladly pay for great service and great food. So many other great places to eat in Charleston.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the food here and the wait staff was on top of things. I had the Paccheri and my boyfriend had the Riccota Gnudi which was *chef's kiss*. The only weird thing that happened was a drunk patron came up to our table and said something before our dinner had started but it made for a good laugh in the end.

Jim F.

Yelp
Back in Charleston and could not miss a dinner at Cods Del Pesce! By far, the gold standard of fine cuisine. This time we did our own tasting with several unique appetizers and a seafood and pasta entree. What a dinning experience! Coda also has a unique selection of great Italian wines...never disappointed. We are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you Chef Ken and your team for another memorable experience.

Yelp
Beautiful setting, great location, great waitstaff. IOP on the water, I believe the only restaurant on the water (ocean side). Arrive early to get parking, no parking lot. The menu changes so don't pick your meal based on what you see here or online. Very friendly waitstaff. I'm vegetarian and she had the chef make me something that was not on the menu that was amazing. It was veggie, mushroom, pistachio pasta greatness. My husband had the Caesar salad and wreckfish and he said both were amazing. Highly recommend

Robert O.

Yelp
Superlative fish, great cooking skill, good wine selection, wonderful experience. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Coda Del Pesce... Fantastic, Fabulous, Five Stars. Everything on the menu was beyond perfection. It changes based on what is available and truly lived up to the hype. My friends and I sat at the bar because we made a last minute reservation, and I wouldn't have had it any other way! The bartender (sorry I am forgetting your name!!) was HILARIOUS and so knowledgeable of the menu. The executive chef brought us a few small dishes he was experimenting with and it was all FABULOUS. Everything we ordered was better than the last bite we tried, and the cozy beachside ambiance made it such a well-rounded experience. This place is a must go when you're in IOP!!

Yelp
Ok so it's trying to be Italy but it's not We arrived at 8:30pm last night as the head chef left / owner bad idea should have left too But 32 for 8 small pieces of "nudi" aka gnocchi -produced nude e -- we don't have a ton to say it was disappointing The Cesar salad was ok had very little croutons and broccoli in it ok but .. Also no bread bread cost 8.00 Wine I wanted from Umbria ( been there ) couldn't get a glass only 70 bottle ?! Nice Ciao don't go here it's not like Italy in Italy you get a 5 course meal for like 35 bucks and it's perfecto Also fyi - the chefs should wear hair nets ( they had bellies of hair) and didn't see it covered .. also one guy touched his head never washed hands and then kept preparing.. nice work buddy.

Dennis C.

Yelp
My wife and I were visiting the area and wanted to eat at a local restaurant. I made a reservation about 10 days out. We arrived early and were seated at the bar (our choice). First off, the menu was very unique with an Italian spin on the food. We split the white shrimp appetizer, the Caesar salad and she ordered the tilefish and I had the bolognese. We had a bottle of wine as well. Michael the bartender was multitasking BIG time but his service was off the charts. Probably the best meal we've had (eating out) in years. Call ahead and arrive with your appetite!

Andrew B.

Yelp
Great food and service. Cool little restaurant with a view of the ocean. Try and reserve as far ahead as possible.

Jesse S.

Yelp
Just tried to work with Eric the manager to reserve a group reservation and the entire experience was awful. He was unhelpful and standoffish. I have lived in IOP for 15 years and have a lot of friends and family in the area. I will share my negative experience with them and we won't be doing business with you again. Incidentally I called the Boathouse and had the complete opposite experience. Polite, helpful, and accommodating. It's r easy to be king when you're on top but when the castle crumbles don't come calling...

Joan M.

Yelp
Update Five years later.. I cannot believe that it's been so long since I've been here.. Outstanding dinner, impeccable prompt service in this very busy restaurant on IOP. The Four star instead of five is for the $40 charge for Corkage per bottle!! We brought two. It's the only negative here. Even in winter it's very busy here, book well in advance.

Carol R.

Yelp
We tried so many delicious dishes here! Couple of highlights: 1. Snowy grouper with kohlrabi salad: CDP really knows their way around fish. I loved how smooth it was and the sauce was light but fantastic. The kohlrabi salad paired beautifully with the added brightness of fresh grapes. 2. Swordfish entree: I usually don't like swordfish because it comes out as a dry chunk. But they cut it into thinner pieces at CDP, and I was finally able to truly appreciate the allure of this fish. Definitely a must try. 3. Tiramisu cheesecake: I mean, do I really need to say more? 4. Last but not least, the service is outstanding.

Kathleen L.

Yelp
Last night we sat outside on their oceanfront terrace for our dinner. The view of the ocean was incredible. We split the Caesar salad and it was very good. I had the best swordfish that I've ever had - the flavor and presentation were perfect. We also had the clams Vongole with a squid ink pasta. I N C R E D I B L E !!!! Then we had a cornmeal cake with caramel and strawberry gelato. Also very good. The service was exceptional with just the right amount of attention. We're already looking forward to returning!!

Yomaira S.

Yelp
Food, service, ambiance, and view were all 10/10! The peach salad was chefs kiss! So so good!

Holden M.

Yelp
Everyone at the table described their meal as "Terrific!" Clams Wreckfish Veal Octopus Much gratitude for the skillful preparation of our meals and the animals.

Karen D.

Yelp
The grouper was deliscious. Not sure why I was charged $8for four slices of bread. The sticker shock aside, the wait service was professional and kind.

Penny M.

Yelp
Well, it lived up to the hype! The food was incredible. I don't even love swordfish but this swordfish over cannellini beans was on point. The homemade pastas are all phenomenal. The menu changes daily, so I hate to even describe what I had because it might not be on the menu when you go, but rest assured, it will be amazing. I had Paul cake for dessert and that was equally as delicious as the rest.

Rick D.

Yelp
Served by Erica and seated by Carmela, comfy feel, cool vibe, beautiful view of the ocean, feels like "Cheers" for us older gen but clean, modern seaside feel for the 20 somethings. It has an intimate side, and comfortable side and food was wonderful and the service was amazing till it got busy then Erica's attention moved from being friendly to almost complete distraction but this is not a bad thing, it is just some are able to handle the pressure and still be attentive and she maybe new. She started out very good and Carmela was just a great way to start off the meal. The food was amazing and dare I say better than anything "Bobby Flay" could prepare..lol (Get my Drift) We Enjoyed the meal, the location, the ambiance. We will return and Make RESERVATIONS!

Alex K.

Yelp
Blue crab was excellent. would highly recommend giving this place a try. We will be back.

Miranda S.

Yelp
Where do I begin? The service was wonderful. The general manager eric real top notch guy. The ambiance was so romantic. My husband took me on a staycation and got us a reservation for this place. The Moscato is great almost bought a bottle myself. The food to die for. I cannot wait to come back here and walk along the beach after dinner. Caesar salad was great.

Mike B.

Yelp
Great place on the beach. Soft shell crab was outstanding and the Caesar salad is a must order. Big enough for 2 but the best I've had. And the owner is a great man too!

Stella S.

Yelp
Delicious food, but be aware of very limited vegetarian options. The waitstaff was incredible and the ambience was great.

Anne L.

Yelp
The food was good but portions were WAY TOO small for the money. Service was terrible. Waiter could not answer ONE question that we asked. Managers just gave us blank stares and glared at us when the complaint was made. Save your money and eat elsewhere.

Brian C.

Yelp
Great Italian food with a versatile menu. I love sitting at the bar and sharing stories with fellow foodies...best spot on IOP to dine!!!

Sharon Hornback B.

Yelp
Fantastic food! Fresh. Beautiful presentation. Excellent service. We enjoyed fresh oysters, a beautiful shrimp pasta second course and a potato encrusted grouper. Fantastic.

Yana K.

Yelp
I have now visited this restaurant twice in a span of 2 months and I can't wait to come back! If you were lucky enough to frequent Trattoria Luca, then you might be familiar with the genius of Ken Vedrinski. This is the type of food you eat and then spend months talking about how good it was to everyone you meet. It's special and makes you wish that you could stay in the coziness of this restaurant forever and just keep eating. The space is small and feels intimate. Plus, the view of the ocean really can't be beat. Make a reservation and experience this deliciousness for yourselves. You won't be disappointed!

Susan W.

Yelp
We came here with a large group and had a wonderful family style meal. It was a a 4 course meal - antipasto, pasta, main and dessert. Our server was excellent. I wish I knew her name! She was friendly and took such good care of us. The whole experience was lovely and the food was amazing.

Joy D.

Yelp
This is an adorable place, we had fantastic food, and one of our desserts was spectacular!! The biggest drawback is the location, for us. This had been recommended to us by friends, so we were eager to try it out. It's in such a very crowded location where it's difficult to find parking. Other people may love the location, so don't let that deter you. If they ever open a location in a significantly less crowded area, we'll go there!

Evan G.

Yelp
Coda Del Pesce on Ocean Boulevard on Isle of Palms is a great place to go for delicious and flavorful Italian food in a cool and unique atmosphere. I really like the space and experience that they have available here. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating.

Robert C.

Yelp
The food here is always amazing. The service is good with no bad servers The Ambiance is quaint surf village feel

Scott H.

Yelp
Wow! This place is amazing. Quit reading reviews be just try to get a reservation. We had the asparagus salad, burrata, and I had the grouper Marsala. All were the best we've ever had. I was in Italy a few months ago and I think I enjoyed this food more to be honest.

Brianna M.

Yelp
Amazing food, amazing views and fantastic service! I love how this menu changes frequently. We go so often that they know our family by name haha I cannot recommend this place enough. And the fact that it is located in little IOP makes it a true gem.

J D.

Yelp
Simply the best food on the island, hands down. That's not to take away from other places it's just they are in another category. The service accommodates the fantastic entrees and the atmosphere accommodates the service. It's not the cheapest place to eat but well worth the money. We have eaten here on numerous occasions and have never had a bad experience. We leave talking about how amazing everything was on the way home. If you're a local or visiting, this is a must visit, just make sure you book in advance.

Aj H.

Yelp
It was our first experience here and we wanted to love it. Our waitress greeted us after waiting a while. They were not busy as we were walk ins. We asked the waitress about simple pasta dishes for our teen and she said there is pasta with butter, red sauce or vegetable sauce. We inquired about the type of pasta and she said "oh it's whatever the chef has left back there". Mistake number one, she should have said, let me go back and check rather than her half hearted response. I asked her to tell me about another pasta dish and she was a little short, practically reading the description on the menu back to me. We placed our orders and my daughter said " are you bringing bread"?. The waitress brought it and there were 4 small pieces with a very small amt of butter and basil oil. Our dinner came and 3 dishes were ok, mine was barely warm and the rock shrimp were very small. To this point the entire experience was very underwhelming. We asked for another order of bread and she forgot about it, had to remind her and it came right before our last bite of dinner. We get the bill and see 14$ for two orders of bread. We were taken back and asked to speak to the manager. I saw her go talk to a large gentleman leaning against the wall about 6 feet from our table and he sarcastically said " well that's what we charge!" like he could have cared less about our concern. We waited 5 min and she came back and said "the manager and owner are both busy". She pointed to both and said you are welcome to talk to them on the way out. As we walked out I expressed our disappointment of charging for bread and the way the waitress acted with her responses. He walked out behind us on our way out of the door and said "we have it listed on the menu" which we did not see on the menu. He apologized for the waitress and my husband said " the fact you would not even come speak to us when we asked". The manager responded he didn't know. This was a blatant lie. He said "why would you want me to come to the table so I could tell you we charge for bread?!" I said no, so you could act like you cared about your customers. He told me we were the only ones this summer that complained and went on to remind us that we didn't have a reservation. (like they were doing us a big favor by accommodating us. ) The arrogant manager here has no regard for customers and the owner must be even worse to not engage a patron that is asking to speak to him. If you like to support good service, good food, and good people do yourself a favor and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Alden C.

Yelp
My husband and I make sure to visit this place every time we visit Isle of Palms (once a year or so). Always great. This time, we had excellent service from Ellie. Food is always excellent, service usually is. I often have the black (squid) pasta with clams, and did this time (so good! So many!). Highly recommend!

Stan O.

Yelp
So I went to Coda del Pesce on Friday night; I was super excited we got a reservation as it's always booked solid. For the most part our experience was good. The food was excellent as always. We started with a peach salad to share, I had the tuna and my wife had the veal. All of it was fantastic so no complaints there. I'd give the food a solid 4.5 stars. That's where the high rating stops. Our waitress, although very friendly and cheerful, was missing most of the time and failed on a couple things you expect from CdP. It's not a huge place, and although it was a Friday night and it was almost full, they had at least three other wait staff working. Our drinks took longer than usual but she explained that the bartender was very busy so we accepted that and just waited. I only mention it because as I said, she was missing most of the evening so I wonder if the bar was really as busy as she said or if our drinks may have been sitting there. Food came out, we were very happy with it; delicious! We noticed the two tables around us, which were being serviced by a different waitress, had bread. We were never asked if we wanted bread. Still not a big deal... then we heard the other waitress telling another table about a special, our waitress never mentioned specials. It sounded pretty good. I guess we should have asked about specials but nevertheless she should have told us. Okay, so even to this point it's not a big deal and could be chalked up to a busy waitress. We were in no rush; so after we finished our meals, we were just talking and enjoying each other's company. She hadn't been around, the owner came by a collected our plates, still no real issues because as I said we were in no rush. When she did return, she just came over and gave us our check; as if to say bye now or get out. Didn't ask if we wanted anything else, didn't ask if we wanted desert, didn't ask if we wanted the check. Really cold. Too bad, because as good as the food is, our waitress was enough to not hurry back. Food: 4.5 stars Service: 2.5 stars (hopefully just a bad night)

Jay R.

Yelp
Always a great experience! We have gone as a couple and with groups. Every time we had exceptional meals complemented with professional servers.

Megan E.

Yelp
If you can get in to this small gem, do it! Everything is wonderful from the anti-pasti to the dessert. The food is so incredible, fresh, and delicious I don't even know where to start. Recommend!

Brooke P.

Yelp
Had a nice time at Coda Del Pesce! You wouldn't expect this high end restaurant to be located where it is. Our server was very knowledgeable and made recommendations for us. I enjoyed the drinks and the homemade pasta was divine. You could make the argument that the portion sizes didn't match the price tag, however, would definitely go back for the experience, view of the ocean, and pasta.

Eva M.

Yelp
Delicious!! I had the tiggerfish dinner with squash, with recommended red wine for our very knowledgeable waitress. Followed by butterscotch dessert!! Highly recommended.

Melissa S.

Yelp
One of my new favorite dinner spots in Charleston! We came her for a date night and had such an amazing meal. We started out with the octopus which was so tender and flavorful then we had the fresh pasta with scallops which was also delicious and ended with the pork chop which was probably the best thing I have ever eaten. The pork chop was lightly breaded and in a cherry port wine sauce and it was the best combination. We washed it all down with an espresso martini. If you are looking for good Italian with a beautiful view this is your spot. As we are super excited about their new restaurant Binky's which is opening up right below! We will be back to check out that as well!!

Glen B.

Yelp
Always excellent service and fantastic food. Every time an exceptional dining experience. Book well ahead though...

Lisa M.

Yelp
Food was excellent. Fresh flounder braciole was delicate and delicious. Squid ink pasta with spicy clams was fantastic! Great setting and even though our server was a little salty, she gave us great service. Highly recommended!

Thom G.

Yelp
Wow! Amazing food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. Yelp comes through again. We had a great dinner here on our first night in town. Going to be hard to to this. The bruschetta appetizer was only two pieces, but it was very tasty and made with local, seasonal ingredients. The tile fish and the clam dish were very tasty. Ask for bread to mop up the sauces left in the bottom of the dish.

joy s.

Yelp
Hard to get a reservation!!! But love the food!! Good vibe too!!! Plan ahead if you want to get in this restaurant!!

Kevin M.

Yelp
My wife Janine and I love this place..... we have been coming here for years.... it's probably best to make a reservation, as those in the 'know' realize this place has the best Food in the low country.... Ken and the rest of the staff do an amazing job.... Monica, our waitress was professional, well versed on the menu, charming and overall simply fantastic..... we will definitely be back.... although Everything on the menu is Good... the Chefs tasting will blow you away.... be prepared to be wowed....'s UP!

Nora S.

Yelp
Very hard to score a reservation. Seems they cater to their regulars. But every time I've eaten here the food and service are outstanding.

Bill B.

Yelp
I returned and got what I expected delicious food. Nothing had changed, knowledgeable staff, great view and fantastic fish. My only complaint was that my pasta dish was way too salty. I don't think I have ever returned a dish anywhere but a month after eating here I could kick myself for not returning the salty pasta.
