NYC’s New Restaurant Openings

"Coffee Check, also in Greenpoint, is owned by a Youtuber called TheUnlockr, and it’s designed as a full production/creator space. There’s a full test kitchen to film food content, podcast booths, and a litany of other production tools. Oh—there’s also coffee." - will hartman

Google
Came all the way from Texas for this place(And for NYC :P). I've been to over 50 local coffee shops in Texas, and I like to see what each has to offer, so if given the chance I will go out of my way todifferent cafes if they're rated really high. All that being said, really amazing coffee shop. I got the espresso tonic which also had an orange bitter garnish on top. The drink was excellent, a nice balance of bitter acidity and sweetness from the tonic. Awesome vibes, great staff and service. You can come here during the day or weekend to get some work done too or just hang out. The pastries was also very delicious.

My favorite coffee shop in all the land!!! I live 30mins away and commute here once a week because it has everything i look for in a coffee shop - great working area, good wifi, strong AC, good music vibes, and really great consistent matcha. They’re also a no tip cafe. Trying to gatekeep because this is my favorite establishment in nyc……

I love the atmosphere here and the drink options! It’s one of my hidden gems that I like to go to. This location closes a bit early, so I like to come here in the morning to get some work done.

☕✅ Coffee Shop and roastery for coffee connoisseurs. Great place to work. Plenty of outlets, comfy couches. Nice vibe. Podcast booth and production space to rent. Good selection of croissants and vegan cookies as well. Try the breakfast pie!

The cafe has a cozy atmosphere and good spots for working with a laptop. Coffee was amazing and I'm super happy that they didn't upcharge for alternative milks. Prices are VERY good, especially since they discourage tipping. An absolute must go if you're in the area!

i know the owner David and know i might come off biased but i have to say that i really respect him for absorbing tips and taxes into the menu so you don’t get shocked when you pay! or maybe you will be pleasantly surprised i also appreciate that David painstakingly took the feedback from us on how to improve and elevate coffee check, and the entire space is clean, cozy and inviting. the bathroom is well-sized and clean. the podcast booth looks legit and i can’t wait to spend more time there!!

If you think Brooklyn didn't need another coffee shop, stop by this place first. Cozy decor with impeccable music, friendly baristas and comfy couches ... oh, and the cold brew is so choice! Add the high-speed USB charging and ample counter/table space, and you've got a remote-work mecca. My new favorite place in Greenpoint. ✅

Love the atmosphere, service and the cafe mocha was on point. Plus if you are a creator or need a space to record a podcast. They have recording booths you can rent.

Yelp
I stopped by on a Friday morning at 7 am and was pleasantly surprised to see a bustling atmosphere with customers already settled in. The space is perfect for getting work done, reading, or people-watching - and I did a little bit of everything! The coffee was top-notch - I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk and it was expertly brewed and full of flavor. By 9 am, the place was hopping, but the vibe remained relaxed and welcoming. I loved that it's pet-friendly, the WiFi is strong, and the staff is friendly. I'm already planning my next visit - if you're a coffee lover or just need a great spot to hang out, add this place to your must-visit list!

Yelp
I came here the other day since it's in the neighborhood and I had heard good things. It's a large space with lots of seating both in the front with bar stools and in the back. It seems to be a good place to do work as well, with lots of outlets and people who were working on their laptops. The service was good and my biscuit and chai latte were quite good. They have a decent amount of baked goods and tea/coffee selection. My only complaint is that they close pretty early, but besides that it is a great spot to get some work done and just relax.

Yelp
Pros: I ordered the salted maple spice latte, and it was absolutely delicious. The interior is clean, modern, and cozy with a minimalist touch. There are a few seats by the couch and around the tables, along with high chairs for additional seating. I love that the space is filled with natural sunlight & has a perfect background music volume--many coffee shops tend to be loud, but this one plays groovy, light music that's pleasant & not overwhelming. Plus, there are plenty of outlets to charge your phone or laptop, making it a great spot to work or relax. The overall ambiance is exactly what I look for in a coffee shop. It's my current favorite spot in Greenpoint! Cons: The only downside to this location is that it closes a bit early at 3 PM. I wish it stayed open longer, but I also understand the implications of operating costs.!

Yelp
I wish Coffee Check were closer to where I live! They have well curated menu, from custom espresso drinks to pourover and tea. Also plenty of seating and a bathroom. They use loveramics cups for their hot drinks, which is the gold standard of latte art cups. Since it was my first visit, I had to get one of the seasonal drinks the "Andys mint". This was a mix of mint tea extract with espresso in a latte. Basically their take on a peppermint mocha latte. The mint and cacao were subtle, and the milk was steamed nicely. I'll be sure to visit again if I'm in the area.

Yelp
SO many outlets, so many seats. There is a space for couches for more casual convos and also a huge table for those working on their laptops. There are also seats by the espresso bar which I loved, very cute vibe. Wifi is fast and reliable. The drinks were good, I was pleasantly surprised by the salted maple latte, it is on the saltier side but it was good. The food was great, has a ham and cheese croissant and a chocolate croissant warmed up. Music is soft and lofi like, which makes it easier for those working. The baristas were so sweet !

Yelp
Disclosure: the owner is a longtime friend. That said, Coffee Check is an outstanding café tucked nicely between bustling businesses and apartments in the heart of Greenpoint. It's easily accessible by the G train or the ferry, the coffee is excellent, and there are plenty of great non-coffee options for those who prefer tea, matcha, or hot chocolate. There's also incredibly fast Wi-Fi, 45W USB-C charging at nearly every seat (as well as AC outlets), and a great rental space in the back for video production and podcasting. I truly can't recommend this shop enough!

Yelp
One of the best coffee spots in Greenpoint. A fairly large coffee shop that is the perfect place for a caffeine re-up, a quick coffee chat with friends or a third space for work. - Incredible coffee and food: Check - Plenty of space to work with plugs everywhere and super fast Wi-Fi: Check - Comfy couches: Check - Great service and vibes: Check Highly recommend whether you are a local to the neighborhood or passing through.

Yelp
Well-crafted coffee drinks and chill atmosphere make this a welcome daytime destination. Bring the laptop, too.
