Coffee Project has a nice, open space with cute seating options, making it a great place to relax or get some work done. The coffee was solid, and the croissant I had was delicious. Their food menu includes avocado toast, muffins, and a variety of croissants—plenty of good options for a quick bite. Definitely a spot worth coming back to, and perfect for a casual stop when you’re in the area!

Normally I love buying beans from here so wanted to try the coffee. I got a pour over for over $10 and received a shattered carafe (see picture). Absolutely no attempt to fix this especially since the barista who poured it walked it over—there was no way she didn’t know there was a massive set of cracks. Not only that but the coffee was horrendous! Never coming back!

Google
Bright and spacious coffee spot. The cold brew and the croissant were good. One downside though is that the wifi network was not working when I went, so if you were planning to sit down and need the Internet, you should try connecting first to see if the network is working correctly.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The man working the cash register was extremely rude and did not ask what kind of milk I wanted. Then as he's pouring whole milk into my cup I tell him sir you didn't ask me please use oat I'm lactose intolerant and he rolled his eyes, had an attitude and said that's extra. Then when I asked the woman next to him what his name was in order to report this experience to the manager she said, "is that necessary we've had a long day." As if that's an excuse not to do your job. As this is a health issue. She would not give me her name or his so I had to take a photo and will be calling to speak with the manager tomorrow. Also the matcha was so over priced and NOT GOOD. I should've stuck with my regular. Blank street right across the street. 0/10 do not recommend

Google
Lovely coffee shop in an amazing location, nice atmosphere (and music) and great coffee!! Funny enough we also highly recommend the matcha latte (for which we actually came back for - so tasty!!!)

Google
Great coffee and service. I love that they offer unsweetened almond milk! Soup was great too. Service was excellent! Laptop friendly.

I got an iced americano with their seasonal espresso and it was amazing! Some of the best coffee I’ve had in the city.

Matcha latte was fantastic, staff are very warm and friendly and the space is great if you’re looking for a place to chill

Yelp
The coffee is great and they are usually friendly. I didn't do five stars because of the prices. I get that this is Chelsea NYC, but they charged me almost $7 for a cup of basic iced coffee that wasn't even full. I asked the barista if he could add more coffee since the cup wasn't full and I was told: "I can only give you more ice". I frequent this place (usually just do hot drip) and happy to pay the price because the coffee is really good. But they couldn't fill the cup up, not even when asked? This felt like a smack in the face and made me want to go full Karen!!' C'mon man!!! Attached is a photo of the amount of iced coffee before I took my first sip.

Yelp
I stopped in for a quick bite and place to sit to kill some time between appointments. Service was quick and such a cute spot. It is a little limited in seating but not too small. The smoked salmon and coffee were very good!

Yelp
how'd this earn so many accolades. it was not good....tried the seasonal pandan latte. first of all - coffee was bitter. the flavor of the pandan wasn't strong enough against the coffee and find complement it super well. it was also $11 for the drink...mostly ice. disappointed to say the least. coffee shop had decent space to do work though...

Yelp
I went here many years ago and recently came back to give them another shot. Aesthetically, it's kind of a sterile environment with cramped up uncomfortable chairs. But I guess to get work done, it works in a pinch. You'll just be crammed on top of people. It's also a little bit pricier than your average cup of joe place. Which is good to know because they recently put another location up near my job. They also don't do free or discounted refills. It's full price. I was intrigued and decided to go with one of their fancier summery/springy vibe drinks. I got the ube delight over ice. Which with tax it's like $8.5-9. Holy levels of sugar high but it was admittedly delicious. I had no regrets. The whipped cream was a little funky. It had a sour taste to it and I know it was coconut flavored but I also kept questioning internally if it was nearly expired. They have a food menu of sandwiches, toasts, salads, and various baked goods. I took a quick look at it and was FLOORED, jaw open bewildered that a slice of chocolate chip banana bread runs $13. If they're going to charge that much money, I'd say just remove the prices from the menu and let people be stunned and blown away because it just left a bad vibe.

Yelp
Food (4.5/5) - got the black sesame latte and their special holiday sandwich - sandwich was delicious but thought they added a bit too much cranberry sauce. Not a problem though since I just smeared a lot of it off the bread - aesthetically pleasing assembly, so it's good for insta pics ;) Service (5/5) - very friendly! took time to answer my questions despite the busy environment Ambiance (5/5) - might be a bit too noisy if you want to do some work and you don't have noise-canceling headphones - good for chilling with friends or by yourself

Yelp
From the costumer service to delicious cafe choices, don't skip on caffeine here! There's spacious seating and pastry/light entree options available. I ordered iced matcha oatmilk latte with toasted almond croissant. The matcha (unsweetened) was delicious with a hint of sweetness from the oatmilk. I'm not sure if is authentic matcha powder, inquire within. I requested the almond croissant to be toasted for fresh flaky texture. It was sweet and crunchy as wanted. There's seating options for groups are solo for remote work. The staff are warm and friendly. Not sure there's Wi-Fi but should be. Water closet is located left of drink pickup station. The decor is fresh with succulents and minimalism furniture decor. Enjoy the the bright cafe atmosphere.

Yelp
Glad to see Coffee Project doing well and now having multiple locations. Nice space in Chelsea. Great coffee as always!

Yelp
Perfectly located on 7th Avenue in Chelsea, this somewhat pricey coffee joint ($4 a cup of regular drip) has ample room to enjoy the coffee with a view of 7th Avenue and strolling New Yorkers with their dogs. Good selection of food as well.

Yelp
I've been wanting to stop at a Coffee Project for awhile now and the opportunity finally presented itself. I came by in the early afternoon, and it was already mostly full, but I grabbed a table quickly. The light coming in here is so wonderful, and I just love how much space there is. The baristas were really kind and attentive, asking about my day while I waited for them to take my order. I decided to try their seasonal latte which was black sesame flavored. This latte came out to $8+ which is, in my head, absolutely way too much for a latte especially for the size of this cup. $8 is the price I generally pay for boba, and even then it's hard to justify, so this was difficult for me. The latte was really nice: smooth coffee, not-too-sweet black sesame coming through, but I likely wouldn't get it again because of the price. The vibe is unmatched, though! Appreciate the space that it offers which is big but not too noisy at the same time.

Yelp
Super dope coffee shop!!! Amazing aroma and flavor. Super friendly barista and cute little tables. Love it.

Yelp
The perfect coffee spot in the area. The cappuccino was solid and they have amble tables for people to sit and enjoy their coffee and food. Quick service with attention to detail and good coffee options this is a great spot to check out for your caffeine fix.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid coffee, the cafe is nice and has a decent amount of seating, there's wifi and you can work but it was a touch warm in there and the music was loud so take that into account.
google avatar

Jingwen Z.

Yelp
Reliably good espresso drinks in a spot with plenty of natural light and small tables with seats. They do fill up pretty quickly, which is why I've been here a couple times before but wasn't able to stick around and get work done. However, if you're lucky enough to get a seat and table here, it's perfect for co-working and caffeinating. Wifi and bathroom are available. Staff are friendly and they happened to play some of my favorite artists from the late 00s/early '10s (think Green Day, My Chemical Romance, etc.) - completely unexpected for a place with these aesthetics, but I absolutely loved the throwback.

Yelp
Great selection, lots of seating, clean interior, friendly service. Highly recommend for locals or tourists looking for coffee in the area. London Fog is delicious!

Claire L.

Yelp
Came here to meet a friend for coffee and loved it! The space was super clean and inviting, and I loved the minimalistic vibe with wood. There is quite a good amount of seating, and wifi was good for working as well. I ordered a cappuccino and thought the flavor was pretty good! Would come back!

Abigail S.

Yelp
I've come here numerous times to try to work-- WiFi is ALWAYS down and wish I'd gone elsewhere.

Bethany S.

Yelp
Place usually has a line backed up to the door. Finally saw it was empty so I could stop in the grab a drink before work and I see why this place is always so busy. Got the advertised black sesame latte with oat milk iced. Fiireee! It was $10 with a tip tho. Which is a lot, but it was a really yummy treat for myself so it's fine right? Lol
google avatar

Yelp
Coffee here is decent, but a tad too pricey for me even by NYC standards. The staff was nice and they do allow you to use their bathroom in-store now. They have certain tables that ban the use of laptops (I guess to prevent people from sticking around too long). There's several tables inside varying from two seaters to four seaters, though these could have been bussed a bit better. We ordered the Kickass London Fog (came out to $8.25 w/ oat milk) and a matcha latte ($7.25 w/ oat milk) as well as an avocado toast ($12) as a snack. The avocado toast was really tasty and a great pairing to an iced coffee, but I definitely felt the coffee was on more expensive side for what I got. While it was a pleasant coffee experience, it didn't stand out in my mind that much. The food was more worth it IMO, but even that was also pretty expensive (its only one slice of avocado toast for $12) despite it being tasty.

Yelp
I love stopping by here on my way to work. Always recommend the spinach feta pastry warmed up and their almond chai (one of the only places where the hot and iced chais are both good!) Really friendly service and pretty quick as well. They have some working space but it's busy and you'll be lucky to get a table (people do go in and out so if timing works out!)
google avatar

Yelp
Loved the iced matcha! And it's not sweetened?! super yummy with almond milk. Very peaceful inside, great place to go and hang out and even study!

Yelp
As far as coffee houses go this one has a nice aesthetic to it. Clean and bright. Dine in area with tables spread out, and only usable with proof of vaccination. Tasty iced coffee priced in line with the area. Good wifi. They won't rush you out. Yet, the facility itself is very sterile, and lacks the coffee house warmth many enjoy. Also, they refuse to let anyone use the bathroom here. That in itself is a big fail in a business which serves food and drink. The pandemic is not an excuse to lock up the bathroom to your patrons. Do better.
google avatar

Yelp
Overall rating: 4.5 That almond croissant was $7. It was good. And I already knew the coffee was going to be expensive. That's the world we live in. But for the croissant too I though I had a few years left. Surprisingly, steep prices aren't the reason for this rating. There are some tables that say this is a "laptop-free table". I go into a coffee shop during the workday to work. Limiting tables is a bad look in my opinion.

Yelp
I first heard about Coffee Project NY while binge watching Epicurious Youtube videos about coffee, lol. Glad I was able to find time to stop by! It seems like most people's go-to here are their lattes, but I figured I'll give the pour overs a try. I wanted something that wasn't very acidic, so the barista recommended the Colombia Maracaturra (tasting notes: cherry, pear, and honey). It's expensive ($8 for a 10 oz. cup) but the coffee was fruity yet mellow with slight acidic after taste (it's more acidic as it cools down). It was a pleasant drink and not at all bitter! I would recommend this drink if this fits the kind of coffee profile you like. I think they change their coffee selections pretty regularly, so definitely ask the barista for a recommendation based on your coffee palette!

Shayna G.

Yelp
Excellent coffee! Went 3 times while in the city. Can't wait to return. Got Cortados.
google avatar

Franklin Z.

Yelp
I had wanted to try the Coffee Project for some time and just had time on this trip to the city to try the spot. Having already had a coffee try earlier in the day, I decided to opt for the seasonal black sesame latte. It sounded fun and have had previous good black sesame lattes at other cafes. The black sesame latte was not it...I felt that the black sesame portion tasted overly burnt and could not finish over 2/3 of the drink. I was disappointed in this try and regretted spending the money. Would try to return for a regular latte next time.

Yelp
Personally adore this place! Y'all I'm a whole barista and still come here to see what's up with the new coffees. It's exciting to see a place take care of the integrity of the coffee. It's a cute shop that does get busy so expect some noise and crowds. It's totally worth it though and I hope y'all pop by!
google avatar

Kelly L.

Yelp
I love this location but on weekends it's really crowded. The ambiance is lively because there are so many people in-and-out the whole time. I luckily got a seat after waiting for a couple of minutes but once I was leaving, there was immediately another party waiting to snatch up the seat so that tells you how competitive and unavailable these seats are in general. I came here because I wanted to try out one of the essential coffee places in the city and it seemed like Coffee Project was one of them. I ordered their Kickass London Fog. I can see why it's a popular choice because of its unique blend of Earl Grey (syrup) and espresso, but it wasn't for me. Next time I'll just stick with their lattes or try out their matcha latte.

Aileen P.

Yelp
Sterile but not clean vibes Food was fine Drinks were fine WiFi and outlets so a good work from home spot but I wouldn't go here for long hours on end Uncomfortable chairs
google avatar

Elsie W.

Yelp
Love the space here, so aesthetically pleasing. I like that they spread out their tables. They make a solid oat milk cappuccino too. It looks like they have free wifi and I saw some people with laptops, but certain tables don't allow them.
google avatar

Stephanie N.

Yelp
This place is a vibe. They have coffee from around the world, and it's full of marble tables and cute chairs. They have matcha, and a seasonal Sakura latte which is just divine. The pour overs include coffee from Yemen, Colombia and Ethiopia. Fair priced coffee, great aesthetic.
google avatar

Samantha C.

Yelp
Baristas were great, very inviting and a cool little spot to hang out. Need to come back to enjoy the beer, wine, and tapas. Stopped in and after brunching was looking forward to something a little more special. Thanks to Wilmar he gave me everything i needed...wish I remember the name, but check out the art! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
One word: AMAZING!! Since moving to NYC, I've been trying to find the best coffee in the city and I think I've finally found it. I can't get enough of this place and go out of my way from uptown Manhattan just to come here. The lattes are delicious. My favorite drink is the Kickass London Fog which was recommended by one of the baristas. It's so good! A perfect balance of sweetness and coffee, and it's so smooth. Definitely recommend this drink. Pastries I've tried have also been delicious, especially the Belgian waffle and vegan lemon loaf. Pricey for a coffee but damn it's so good that I'm willing to drop the $7 after milk substitution lol Interior is super clean, refreshing, and aesthetic. There's ~6 tables and reliable WiFi available so I like to come here if I need to get some work done. Baristas are great- friendly, great people, and helpful if you need a drink recommendation.

Yelp
Chelsea Coffee Project is one of my favorite coffee shops to work from. It's usually not too crowded and there is a lot of seating! The coffee here is also high quality! Last time, I got the seasonal Sakura Blossom latte and loved it- the flavor was subtle and tangy without being overly sweet. I also got a vanilla pink guava twist, which had a decadent guava pastry filling. While a bit too sweet for me in the morning, this was a delicious pastry for satisfying my sweet tooth later in the day. Highly recommend Chelsea Coffee Project to anyone looking for a quiet coffee shop to work from in the area!

Castle M.

Yelp
Pleasant environment and excellent counter service. Splendid coffee and appealing and highly functional and comfortable seating.

Yelp
It's been awesome seeing this place expand! Staff is lovely, place is nice and they just added beer, wine + tapas! My go-to is iced matcha lattes with oat, but I wish the misugaru would come back

Yelp
Relaxing coffee shop Staff: the staff was attentive and explained their specialty drinks on the menu patiently to us. We were asked to show our vaccination proofs and IDs for dining in. ‍ Vibe: the inside was bright and clean, with pretty and sleek decors. We visited this place on a Sunday afternoon. There're not many people inside and everyone's quietly reading/using their laptops. Drinks: we ordered a latte and a cold brew. We were told that some specialty drinks are only available at their East Village store. So you may wanna check out the East Village one instead of you're here for those drinks. The latte was a bit bland, lacking the espresso/coffee flavor. Will recommend it if you're looking for some places to rest/work in the Chelsea area!
google avatar

Elgodo C.

Yelp
Coffee project was such a good spot for Great coffee at the end of the Pandemic. My man Dre was there and he takes pride in his coffee. After he left i haven't been able to find anyone who even comes close to making a good pour over, even if i get the $14 one, it's just not good. Also, lately, everyone they hire is just in a bad mood, ignore you while talking to each other, get your order wrong(after repeating it 2 or 3 times) and then blame you saying "That's how you ordered it" It's a shame because their beans are the best in the city and they're so close to me but i'd rather walk a mile to get a good pour over and better service.
google avatar

Millie C.

Yelp
Super cute and clean! Great staff. Nice seating area with a little gift shop section by the register.
google avatar

Victoria G.

Yelp
Lovely staff and amazing latte, super spacious indoors for productive times. Got a lot done, had outlets too for charging. Will definitely come back for their pastries and for other drinks!
google avatar

Lana B.

Yelp
Their chai was absolutely delicious with just the right about of milk to balance it out. The staff was super friendly and the service was fast. Only downside is you have to get their early to get seating. But other than that I would definitely recommend.
google avatar

Jeremy M.

Yelp
A great spot to work from with incredibly nice staff! Just enough seats where the place isn't too crowded and claustaphobic. It's also very bright so there's no sleepiness happening in this gorgeous spot. The biggest downfall is that it's incredibly overpriced. I understand since it is in the heart of Chelsea, but it's the most "luxury" you can get from a coffee shop you work from. Definitely will return though when I need ultra focus and good vibes. Oh, I ordered their lemon cake and it was very standard. Not necessarily the best but a decent snack while working :)
google avatar

MT L.

Yelp
Nice space with lots of folks working on their laptops, and an assortment of coffee beans in small bags with attractive labels. Also, a barista academy, apparently. Ordered an iced coffee. Was served a cold brew instead, which overflowed when the straw was inserted. I commented that iced coffee and cold brew were not the same and wished I would've been asked if cold brew was okay up front. Also, many places don't clean their cold brew apparatus well, so I prefer freshly made coffee poured over ice. Although not as strong as an iced espresso, cold brew also has more caffeine per ounce than a regular cup -- an academy should know that and tell folks up front.
google avatar

Gab G.

Yelp
Came the other day (they're currently in the soft opening phase) and had a great experience. I've been to the East Village location, but I live in Chelsea so this one - which is in the old Fika spot - is way more accessible. Flat white and iced coffee were both great, and the barista Charles was super friendly. They have a small selection of pastries, though I didn't get one this time. I'll be back to try those, as well as the cold brew and drip coffee, soon. Great addition to the neighborhood!
google avatar

Karin H.

Yelp
Mmmm, their coffee is great. Perfect amount of bitterness & not sour. The indoor interior is simple & clean, with enough seating. A good place to catch up with friends over coffee The person who took my order was kind and friendly.
google avatar

Weijie L.

Yelp
Free wifi, restroom, best coffee, various pastry and food menu, plenty of seats! a huge plus point for me are natural light through big window and the fact that it closes at 9pm. It's a bit of a walk from my place, but will help get my steps in while having a great place to sit and work for a couple of hours.
google avatar

Yuk L.

Yelp
I'm a regular at the Fort Green location. Tonight my buddy and I were looking for a lowkey place to end our evening catching up since 2019. Great space with clean modern decor and earthy accents. London Fog was perfect end to the day. My friend enjoyed a matcha latte.
google avatar

Justin R.

Yelp
Nice open brooklynesque vibe with lots of natural light. Lots of great interesting specials and cool special origins, they had a Chinese coffee that I didn't get to try but looked awesome. Highly recommend the orange cardamom latte.
google avatar

Charisse S.

Yelp
I was on the fence about this coffee shop, but I'll be generous here. It's a really beautiful, calm space to do some remote working. Prices are on par with other coffee shops in the area - not cheap but not expensive, Wifi works very well, spacious enough to allow distancing. My only issue is that they would not allow customers that are dining in to use the bathroom. I don't know if that has changed in the past month or so, since this was during the peak of the delta variant, but I thought it was kind of disrespectful to their customers. It's an underhanded way to prevent people from dining in without outright banning.
