20 Best Tapas Bars in Barcelona, From Old-School Dives to the Avant Garde | Condé Nast Traveler

"Like a posh deli with seating, this lively, slightly cramped spot lines its walls with jars and wines and serves top-notch produce in an unpretentious setting; start with bite-sized tapas such as the anchovy-and-olive "Gilda" and an omelet with tangy Chistorra sausage cooked in cider, and move on to hearty mains available as half portions like the meatball "stroganoff" with seasonal mushrooms or Fricandó, the Catalan slow-cooked beef classic." - Isabelle Kliger

The 25 Best Restaurants In Barcelona - Barcelona - The Infatuation

"When you’ve had it with the dry ice and foam and want to see how locals eat, go to Colmado Wilmot. This small tapas bar, deli, and grocery store in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi is busy and boisterous. You’re greeted by loud chatter and clinking glasses (there’s an impressive wine list), and the walls are full of shelves stacked with jars, bottles, and tins. This place does things the way they used to be done, which means great produce, friendly service, and not a squiggle of balsamic glaze or a decorative flower in sight. The menu is full of seafood, sourced fresh from the market, like red Mediterranean prawns and plump baby scallops served lightly grilled with a pinch of garlic and salt. Catalunya lies between the mountains and the sea, and its dishes reflect that—take the fricandó, a beef stew, with sea cucumber that has depth of flavor." - isabelle kliger

Colmado Wilmot nails the kind of tapas that make you want to order one of everything. The croquetas de pollo are golden, crisp, and filled with a creamy chicken mix that melts in your mouth, simple but so well done. Then there’s the mandonguillas, which come in a rich, comforting sauce that begs to be scooped up with bread. What really stands out is how they don’t just stick to the usual stuff. The caracoles are a bold, local touch, and the macarrones served bubbling hot in a metal tray are nothing like your usual pasta; smoky, cheesy, and full of flavor. Service is warm and relaxed, the kind of place where they make you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time.

I saw this place in a youtube video and as soon as I saw they’re making rabbit ribs, I made up my mind to go. The place is small and there are mostly locals. I had oyster(ok), chicken croquettes(ok), eggs with a kind of spanish sausage(great) and of course the rabbit. The rabbit was awesome. I ordered some bread to dip into the sauce, I was able to get it all. I definitely recommend. They have a good wine collection as well. People were extremely nice as well. Edit: I went for a second time but this time I had tortilla, russian salad and a meatball stragonoff. Tortilla was not cooked to order but it was still juicy and its sauce is so tasty. I believe onion is giving this juiciness. Meatball was also perfect. They have half portions on most of the stuff so that’s also great if you want to try a lot of dishes. This is an excellent restaurant all around.

Welcoming staff. Fast service. The tortilla and ensaladilla rusa were absolutely delicious. Usually very crowded. Try to make a reservation. Even though the quality is good, they serve small portions.

Had a really tasty meal here. Highly recommend! Quick service and friendly. We also sat outside to enjoy the sun. They forgot one thing from our order but deducted it quicky for us. Thanks!

Highly recommended! The restaurant has really nice friendly staff with a passion combined and uses fresh produce. This combination is golden and makes the food just prefect!

We were placed at a rickety table on the terrace. It started to rain and we were kindly moved inside - as there is not enough cover for rainy weather. The styling of the interior was great and they have an excellent and extensive wine list. The food was very good. However we were bothered by a few things. When you book and also when your reconfirm you are told you have to vacate your table in an hour and a half. This should not have been a problem except the kitchen was slow and we were offered dessert only minutes before our 90 minute slot was over. Service was friendly but needed work. We were no guided through the menu. We were not asked about whether we enjoyed the food. When we ordered sparkling water for the table we were given a tiny bottle with one glass. We had the feeling that the restaurant could have done with a manager or someone to keep an eye on proceedings.

The food was tasty, but guys, you really need to do something about the small flies. It was simply unbearable to eat with so many of them inside. A few even fell into my beer. I’m attaching a video so you can clearly see the issue. This is a serious problem and needs urgent attention. Also, the restroom was very dirty.

Amazing food, probably the best tortilla we ever had (can’t remember a better one). The zamburiñas, the meatballs and the egg were also incredibly delicious, and the torrija for dessert… quite an experience to eat in Wilmot. Most of all, our server David was extremely helpful and super friendly, as well as Javier accommodating us with a double pushchair. We’ll definitely be back!
