The 24 Best Restaurants in Monterrey, Mexico | Eater

"Colmillo started as a 70-seat restaurant with a kitchen centered on an open fire and a menu featuring dishes inspired by Mexican street food. It’s evolved into one of the city’s favorite modern Northern Mexican steakhouses, with branches in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and (as of 2022) Tulum. On any given night, you’ll find an animated crowd tucked into the restaurant’s glamorous black booths, listening to funk classics or experimental rock, and feasting on grilled meat tacos, piquin oysters, and the iconic roasted cabbage with parmesan and truffle sauce. My husband and I dinned on a Saturday evening. I recommend you make a reservation since it’s a busy restaurant. Ambience and service was excellent. Since steaks are their speciality we ordered 2 different fillets. The beef were cooked to perfection. We also ordered a Gaucho salad. The salad had a powder chile like tajin, I honestly think that it ruined the salad. I would order only tell them to put it on the side.

Our first visit and they offered me a menu in English. We started with their baked tortillas and salsa and bean dip along with a gringa chicharrones taco. I had the Baja tacos and my wife and niece shared a steak. The service was amazing and we enjoyed the patio seating as the weather was perfect.

Great ambiance and staff. The food was really good, we tried a couple of appetizers and they were simple yet amazing. The Duro with shrimp was really good. For entree we had the porter house and the steak Diane and the tenderness and juiciness were like expected. They carry usda prime cuts. I gave them four stars because of the steak knives, they should pick better ones and the same goes on the beer glasses, they’re too short and you’re constantly refilling them.

Lovely location with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and although not everyone spoke English, they made every effort to communicate and shared a few laughs. The food was outstanding, full of flavor and clearly made with care. Definitely worth a visit.

2022-09-04 This is a tough one: Google only allows for five stars and this one does deserves six! Real Mexican street food potentiated to a great restaurant with excellent service. The food is creative without losing the essential Mexican flavor. Just excellent! Grat service with humor.

It is unfortunate that we chose the wrong plate. I think the chef meant well, but he apparently confused the word "CHEF" with "Fast Food" and SAALLT. We order the Buffalo Octopus... and it had a little less salt than the entire Red Sea. I cook Octopus I have enjoyed it's flavor in many countries. My wife and my girlfriend would agree that is a delicacy to enjoy. Serving perfectly cooked Octopus with Salty Buffalo Sauce is like serving a twinkie with sugar. GET OUT! I spent US $250 on SALTY Octopus. I like cephalopods, but only in fresh water solution.... :( :( :(. TO OWNER: I wont share my email here but you can share your business email in the message.

Service is very slow. Took us almost 3 hrs to go from appetizers to dessert for two people. Place is nice but music too loud in my opinion. Some people use it like a bar more than a restaurant. Food is pricey but about what you would pay in a similar place, they were out of many options. Quality good to average.
